Even though he wasn't a member of the group, he was not a member of Edison Lighthouse,

to sing their hit songs, because they were all hits at the same time.
And he appeared at the lead singer at all three groups on the show.

It was the first time they appeared anywhere in America.
They got off the plane two days earlier, stated the Warwick Hotel in Manhattan.
Few blocks away went to the CBS studios and rehearsed and then live on Sunday night, February 9th, 1964.
They appeared on the Ed Sullivan show.
And we have got, we're going to play that.
The introduction to the Beatles and their very first song they ever played in public in America.
We'll have that.
But we also have legendary disc jockey Bob Barry joining us at 7 o'clock this morning.
It'll be here.
He actually interviewed the Beatles a few months after they arrived in America.
And he did a sit down with the Beatles.

Now there was nothing here where I live.
We didn't get any rain or anything.
My wife was out toward the interstate.
She was at church last night.
And she said the sky was lighting up with lighting all the trip there.

She was seeing that storm in the distance.

I didn't see anything.
It was just a regular night of loud cars and speeding cars down Main Street.
That's all it was.

Honestly, it's not for everyone.
The governor there is cool with that.

daughters for the first time while watching football because the girls want to watch the

So it's bringing dads and their daughters together over Sunday football.
Isn't that something?
They should all make us feel good.
I know the future seems bleak sometimes, but a new poll found 82% of Americans are hopeful
about their future.
85% are hopeful about the future of their family and 74% are hopeful about their community.
That's kind of nice.
I'm this guy.

I guess I'm this guy claims to have picked the wrong team to win the Super Bowl the last
16 straight years.

This year he's picking the Chiefs.

Before we get to the dirt, let's talk about the new movie that's opening up today.
And we have a couple opening up on Valentine's Day this year.
Yeah, there are plenty of movies coming out this weekend.
There's some reissues.
And then there's some movies coming out next week Wednesday for Valentine's Day.
And there's a lot of them.
So let's go through it because there's a lot for your selection.
And the first wide release is a movie called Lisa Frankenstein.
It's PG-13.
It's set in the 80s.
Let's give this this really neat visual look.
And the story about the Teenager and her crush.
But the Teenager and her crush are a little bit different than you might imagine
because there's a set of horrific circumstances that bring back a corpse to life
and that ends up being this woman's date.
So if you take a look at that, it's Lisa Frankenstein.
It's a great stylized film and it's out right now.
Otherwise, coming out this weekend in two movies that you may not have seen,
especially me not as seen in the big screen, which is lighter back.
And the first one is Dune from 2021.
Now, Dune Part 2 is going to be coming out.
It's premiering on February 29th, opening out March 1st.
But Dune Part 1 is a movie that not a lot of people experienced on the big screen in 2001.
So 2021.
So we brought this movie back.
And it is just spectacular and beautiful in the big screen.
Timothy Chalamet starts its end day along with a great cast.
It is Dune from 2021.
It's on the big screen.
Go check this movie out before you want to go see Dune Part 2.
Both are very special.
Both are going to be just phenomenal to watch on the big screen.
And with all the special effects that everything goes on with this special sci-fi film,
you'll want to see it on the screen.
Now, there was another Dune originally.
And I forget the guy who played, if you say his name, I'll know it.
I have his face and I'm picturing his face.
But there was a movie called Dune years ago, which was a big movie.
It wasn't very good, but it was a big movie.
You know what I'm talking about?
I'll tell you.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, there was an original Dune movie back in the years.
And now you have these.
Now I can play these in terms of technically bringing the story to life.
These movies are quite superior.
Go check out.
I would go check out this movie, which is Dune.
And I would go forward and check this one out.
Because it's just very spectacular.
It was due in 2021.
And we will watch Dune part two.
These two movies are released by Warner Brothers and they did tremendous job.
Bringing this planet, which is a racket to life.
It's about this noble family.
They get control over a spice mine in Ireland in the middle of nowhere in the galaxy.
And there's a lot of things going on because what their mining happens to be
the most valuable assets in the galaxy.
And it just gets to control the planet.
And just what goes on as they're trying to mine this resource.
So it's a really neat story.
And they'll check it out.
Of course, based upon a novel that was very popular as well.
Do you have a very popular novel before it even came to any of the big screens that came on?
One of the big stories of the box office last week was the movie that chosen.
It's not a movie.
It's actually three episodes of the chosen of season four.
It did very well at the box office last week.
These are episodes that eventually they'll stream.
They put out on DVD and Blu-ray.
But first they decided they're going to put them in theaters.
And it did very well.
Yeah, phenomenally.
It makes like over six million dollars for the weekend.
They are still on our screen.
And people are coming and watching this, which is great because the chosen is coming back.
Every episode of their season four is going to be on the big screen.
So right now we have episodes one through three.
And a few weeks will have episodes four, five and six.
And then a few weeks later, we'll have episodes seven and eight.
So go check that out.
Wonderful story about the life and times of Jesus Christ.
And just a wonderful story to watch for anyone that's looking for that type of faith-based programming.
Yeah, we saw every episode they showed in theaters.
My wife and I went.
Then we bought the DVDs to watch them again.
And they have a lot of behind the scenes stuff.
They have some behind the scenes stuff actually on the screen too with the previous episodes.
The director comes on and talks about it.
They actually shot the whole movie in Texas.
I guess just out.
I'm thinking just outside San Antonio.
They shot it in Texas.
Not a high budget thing, but it looks good on screen.
And most of the people who are extras in there are people who live in the area.
I mean, they just give them some biblical, you know, looking, you know, ancient clothing and have them all around.
And they don't have any lines for say they just have to be there in big crowd scenes.
But the leads in the show who play Jesus and his disciples are very good.
And even though it's not a high budget thing, it looks very good on the screen.
I mean, it doesn't look like, you know, the greatest story ever told.
It does look as good as the greatest story ever told, but it's very good.
And I'm glad to see there.
It's on the big screen because it's so much more entertaining.
Get ready.
It's over three hours.
It's like a Martin Scorsese movie.
It's over three hours on the screen.
So that's good.
So what did you learn out there in Hollywood?
What do we need to know?
Well, there's plenty of good products coming down the pipeline.
There's 20 good things coming on.
And if people are watching a small sporting event, you know, the big game coming up this Sunday,
you're going to see a lot of it.
And I don't even know every single spot that's going to run, but I can tell you,
this is one of the best parts about watching the big game on Sunday is actually watching the commercials.
And the studios will be heavily involved in showing you previews of what is going to be coming up.
So check that out.
Check that out because you'll be seeing movies.
I'm advertised as Super Bowl that come up for the entire year.
And it should be just a phenomenal experience to go watch and check out.
In addition to watching two teams play for the Lombardi trophy.
So go check that out.
And I think that's the best thing.
But otherwise, you can take a look out.
There are some great movies coming up this year.
I think this summer looks tremendous in terms of some things that are coming out.
And I think there's a lot of properties that people are going to look forward to.
You know, when we get into March, you look at, we talked about Doom Park 2 is going to be coming out.
There's a new Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters Frozen Empire that's coming out.
There's a new Godzilla and Kong movie called Godzilla X Kong, the new Empire.
So you look at these movies and they start to stack up.
And you say, man, we're getting into the heart of a fun movie popcorn season.
But also, there's a lot of other great movies coming out as well.
There's other, there's great movies for centipiles.
And I think that's what's best for everyone.
There's something for everyone that's going to be on the big screen this year.
Yeah, I want to see more dramas out there.
I like dramas.
I just, you know, and they've done it in past years.
And I mentioned earlier a couple of weeks ago, when they put out, what was it?
It was best picture of the year, no madland.
Now, there's of no madland.

And don't forget about his prequel too.

And it's so true.
Now, another Ghostbusters movie.
Now the last one I didn't like.
I just didn't, you know, I don't like it when teenagers control the world.
You know, I don't buy that for a second.
And they made an Bill Murray and two of the Dan Atcroid and Ernie Hudson made an appearance in the last one.
And it looks like they were being held hostage when they made that appearance.
They just, they showed up and it looks like read these lines or I'll kill this dog.
You know, one of those things.
I didn't like it.
I hope this one's better.
I think, and I think that everyone's going to like this one.
It's called Ghostbusters Frozen Empire.
If you take a look at the trailer, it is a great trailer.
And you talk about the original Ghostbusters coming back.
In this movie Bill Murray, Paul Hudson and Dan Atcroid, they have,
they're working as a team with the new cast, which includes...
What is that?
...grace, you know, Paul Rodd.
So they're working as a team together and they're in.
At least from the trailers or everything we've seen,
they're going to be in the movie a lot more and working as a team and not just put into the end.
So I think this one should be a nice magical Ghostbusters and not just a nont and nostalgia,
but both teams coming together.
So, so Bill Murray is thanks to the appearance of this one you said?
Yeah, Bill Murray is in the movie.
Yes.
Oh, I didn't.
I thought he was like done with movies.
Every time you try to hear an interview with this guy, he's finished with everything.
And, you know, I'm so happy they never filmed a Groundhog Day 2.
You know that?
It's always good when they leave the original intact.
There was no need for a Groundhog Day 2.
And although they did make a Broadway musical called Groundhog Day, did you know that?
Oh, boy, I did not know that.
And it wasn't the failure.
It was, it made its money back.
It did very well.

And I want to talk about what you guys are doing at Marcus theaters.
And if you're one of these people, let's say, I never heard of any of these best picture nominees.
Well, now you have a chance to see them.

That's right.
We're running nine out of the 10th film nominated for best picture.
And we're also running the best picture nominated shorts and the nominated anime.
But live action and animated shorts.
So these are very special.
We're bringing them back.
We're bringing them all back over a period of a little over two weeks.
It starts on February 23rd and goes to when they ask a start on March 10th.
And there are plenty of different ways to experience it as well.
And we always see when they do the Academy Awards, best, best animated shorts.
Who the where are these things?
I never see them.
And that you know what they do?
They show them in theaters for two weeks before the main feature in New York and Los Angeles.
That's how they get into the Academy Awards.
They'll run a short feature.
They used to do that when I was a kid.
You say a little short before the main picture started.
And that's how they get in.
And so you'll get a chance to see them by favorite animated short.
I think I told you was Godzilla meets Bambi.
It's Bambi in a meadow with nice music.
Bambi is drinking out of the added a little stream.
And the music's playing very softly.
And a big foot comes down and crushes Bambi.
And you see her Bambi's four legs coming out from under the foot.
It's Godzilla meets Bambi.
What's a good short?
I don't know if I won the Oscar or not.

because they had after the Beatles first few hits on VJ records and Swan records,
Capitol records had all their songs locked up with the exception of the songs
from a hard day's night because United artists owned the rights of the movie in the soundtrack.
So they put out the album and it was a big possible lawsuit that was going to go on.
But, you know, contracts or contracts, I guess.

And then Sony is putting out Madame Webb, which is a story in the Spider-Man universe.

Well, you know, when you're coming to see it at Marcus leaders, you're coming to see the big game.
Now if we want to talk about it, if you're at home and you're watching commercials, you're watching commercials during the Super Bowl.
The same thing happens with the Packers unless you have a special licensing agreement.
When we used to, when we used to run busloads of our clients out to Lambo Field to watch a Packer game,
we couldn't say that.
They were going to see the green and gold play.
You couldn't, you couldn't say Packers.
So I just noticed you were very careful on watching the big, you know, that happens a lot, even on television or other radio commercials.
They always say, the big game can't say the Super Bowl because it's a copyrighted name.
All right.
You'll live and learn.
Okay, so let's see what we learned today.

We learned there's going to be a lot of good movies coming out.
Did you talk to any studio heads?
Did you get to meet the big marketing mix at all?
You know, we met with all of our, the exhibit of relationships, people in the marketing people behind.
Oh, you saw those.
Yeah, you saw those.
So, so yes, I'll tell you that very briefly on the Disney lot, I did see John Favre walk fast.
Oh, really?
I did see him walk fast, but I was in a parking lot, parking the car and also he walked past the sidewalk.
And it was always like, oh, there he is.
So that was by one celebrity sighting.
I didn't meet with anyone.
How did you know?
How did you recognize him?
I don't recognize people and they come walking by me.
Well, he in particular is pretty recognizable.
You'll be able to see him.
He's been a lot of films.
He's the famous director.
Obviously he's easy.
He's easy to spot.
All right.
Now, what was he doing on the Disney lot?
You know, he would, he's part of producing things for them.
He's going to be involved in the next Disney Mandalorian film.
So he's involved with Disney.
So he was there with them.
I don't know exactly what he was doing, but he was there.
So there you go.
And by the way, it's been about Disney.
We had news this morning.
Moana to is coming to theaters in.
Have the date there.
I forget the date.
It was originally going to be a TV series.
But Bob Eiger.
Is that the same Bob Eiger the CEO said he was so impressed with it.
He said, no, no, no, this is going into theaters.
So Moana to coming to theaters.
Yeah.
And look forward to that one.
There's also a lot of live action film coming out.
But Moana one was very special.
It was a great Pixar film and it was a great film.
And now we get to see the second one.
So that was a surprise.
And I think that just shows people.
Even if you look at the slate for 2024,
there will still be plenty of surprises and things popping in.
And that one was something even I didn't know.
We were told meeting with Disney.
There's going to be a surprise at Alfred tomorrow.
Pay attention and go figure.
We saw that with everyone else.
Have a lot of two who was coming out.
Did you get any souvenirs of the trip?
You know, I went to your Universal City Walk and got some things from you.
I think I got some things from my son.
So that's what we did.
So it's really fun being in here in Burbank.
In fact, this is really interesting.
About 50 years ago, on February 7th, actually, a couple days ago,
there was the premiere of Blazing Saddles.
No Brooks Film Blazing Saddles,
which is considered by many to be one of his best.
And what's interesting is the premiere occurred at a drive-in in Burbank,
not far from where I am.
The 250 guests on horseback that watched this film.
So you think about that.
You think about how uncomfortable your seat is back in the 70s.
Well, I can't imagine having to sit through a tour movie on horseback.
So that was the interesting tip that I learned when I was out here in Burbank.
50 years ago, you had a premiere on horseback on the drive-in.
Well, you know what?
I saw a photograph of that.
That's famous photograph.
All the horses there watching Blazing Saddles.
Yeah.
Now, you and I sort of kid about this.
But the Cinerama Dome, which is right there in the middle of Hollywood,
the Cinerama Dome movie theater with a big Cinerama movies used to play,
closed, and we were hoping that Marcus would buy the Cinerama Dome
and nothing knew on that front, right?
Wait, and I said, let me know if Marcus buys it, I'll be a ticket-taker.
The theater will work the concession stand.
I'll move out to California to work at the dome.
But nothing knew on that, right?
Now, we are not involved in the Cinerama Dome,
so we'll have to find out these things for you, Doc.
