I'd like to own a second NBA team in Miami, Florida.
The only reason I'd like to do it is to do the press conferences.
When they say, well, what's the name of your team?
And I would say, well, it's not the heat.
It's the humidity.
And then I would sell the team right after the press conference.
And be talked about for several days.
Being from Miami, I don't know a lot about winter sports,
but I was watching women's curling one night.
I turned it on late, so I missed the explanation.
That's what they were trying to accomplish.
But I think I picked it up from watching.
There's one woman.
She skates really slowly.
And she's holding onto that weird round rock with a handle on it.
And she has a look in her eyes.
I'm not sure, but I think of a bird flu in front.
It would burst in flames.
It's the most intent glare a human being
is capable of conjuring up.
And then eight women scream at the top of their lungs
for two minutes straight.
Go to the left, go to the left!
Go to the left!
Go to the left!
It's quite relaxing.
It's sort of like watching the view.
I like the view.
I like the women on the view.
I just want to hear them one at a time.
It's hard to pierce through the cacophony.
LAUGHTER
Then put your little hand in mine.
There ain't no ill or mountaineering.
We can't fly.
Hey.
I got you, baby.
I got you, baby.
OK, care for her, surprise and shine.
Don't forget your booties because it's cold out there.
It's cold out there every day.
What is this, Miami Beach?
I'm hardly.
That's right, wood chuck-chuckers.
It's Groundhog Day.
MUSIC
The time turns the oven up, don't you, baby.
9 to 5 a.m. is taking me where I'm bound.
When it's gone, I run out with you, my baby.
When you get through, move in, where my dog goes down.
I'm thankful, Lord, for the nighttime.
Forget the days.
Forget the days.
A day of up upside-down.
Up upside-down.
I gave a chase to the way.
Chase it up, way.
I gave a relaxation.
Go on the nighttime.
It's time to go.
Go on the nighttime.
I think of Lord, for the nighttime.
Go on the nighttime.
I think of Lord, for you.
MUSIC
I'm talking backwards, now, baby.
I got credit.
Nothing ever seems to turn up the way it should.
MUSIC
I'm about to run this girl, I ain't got it in it.
I'm seeing you, my baby.
Good morning, 609 at WRG, and I'm Don Rosen.
Happy Groundhog Day.
You know, for the first time, I actually
feel bad for Punxitani Phil.
I was watching live, and I hear it.
Yeah, you can hear it in the background here a little bit.
MUSIC
I think we're going to find out now.
Let's go, Tom.
Here it is.
Thank you, Phil.
Thank you, Phil.
Phil, it's your turn for the test.
All right.
Now listen, we're going to bring in some people.
You need to make your season police officers coming down.
Now the Philips are going to come and meet them.
You need to form a.
We're going to send the Philips down.
We're going to make a line.
We're going to make a way from the steps to that truck line.
Some important people.
This one.
Send in this Philips down there.
They're going to spread the seeds here.
They got sharp little elbows, and they know how to use them.
So just clear the word.
Clear the word.
I think they're getting ready to finally get the groundhog out
there.
Again, I think we should see other people.
You know, it's funny.
I actually feel bad for the groundhog,
because they have all this loud noise and bands
and screaming and jumping around.
The things probably frighten the death.
Where's my sick Orlando?
Come here, Marcy.
I think they're about to let's correct the ways.
In the meantime, I want to say hello to somebody.
If you got a ticket, if you caught God, there's no.
If you've done anything the last two days or today or tomorrow,
you probably went through Marcy Glamdow, this.
You know, and I feel bad that got the poor little groundhog
sitting in that box.
Give it up for Marcy.
All this loud noise, people jumping around,
that thing is probably terrified.
You know, the more I think about this, the more I don't think
that they should just do it quietly, just open the box
and make a big deal out of it and a big event.
Hey, look at that.
On time and under budget.
I'm kidding.
We went well over budget and we're on the count of sort on time.
You know what, never mind.
Phil, question, are we ready?
Old man wait, sir.
Send in the top hats.
It's getting susceptible.
See, they make a big production deal.
They were supposed to do this at seven o'clock.
Eastern town, which was 11 minutes ago.
There they are.
I'll tell you, well, we'll keep an eye on it for you.
And if I see anything going on with punks of Tony Phil,
I'll let you know, we have Jimmy the Groundhog in Sun Prairie.
They've got Staten Island Chuck in New York City.
And we'll find out.
Now, I'm not sure if he sees his shadow,
I think it's an early spring.
If he doesn't see his shadow, it's six more weeks
to win something like that, right?
I forget, in other words, now, interestingly enough,
the Groundhog has only been right 39% of the time.
So when it comes down to it, it's probably just easier flippin'
a coin because you'll be right 50% of the time,
better than the Groundhog.
I'm just watching this thing.
They were supposed to announce it 12 minutes ago.
And what they're doing is now all the guys
and the top hats are coming on stage.
Then they got to read the proclamation
and eventually we'll get to the prediction.
All right, so that's Punks of Tony Phil.
And he's at Punks of Tony, Pennsylvania.
If you ever have seen the movie Groundhog Day
with Bill Murray, that brought more attention
to Groundhog Day, anything else.
They said there used to be just a couple of thousand people there.
Now there were 40,000 one year because of the movie.
It brought more attention to it.
But if you really want to see where they filmed the movie,
you go to Woodstock, Illinois,
because they filmed every scene there in Woodstock
for Groundhog Day.
My wife and I went there.
You can actually go to all the spots
where the filming took place.
Of course, they have the big square in the center of town
where they did the actual, you know, Groundhog sighting.
Then they have the, the gazebo
where Bill Murray danced
with his girlfriend in the picture.
You know, the step where he steps off
into the slosh every, every time.
They built that sidewalk for the film,
but you can go to the spot where they built it.
I mean, you can stand right on that curb
where he steps off.
You can go to all the buildings
that he went to the bars.
You can even go to the house
where he took music lessons.
They have that, they have the bowling alley there.
It's really, if you have an afternoon this summer,
just to go out to Woodstock, Illinois,
you'll have a fun time to get a map.
You can go online and get the map
and it'll direct you to all the sites
where they filmed the movie.
So I'm waiting for the big proclamation here.
We got all the guys in the top ads out there.
The big moment.
Could you believe we're actually waiting for a crowd dog?
First of all, I don't know how he couldn't see a shadow.
There were so many spotlights on the thing.
He's got to see a shadow.
The other thing is it's dark there.
The sun isn't even out.
So I don't know how this works.
Good morning.
Good morning.
I'm playing a smartphone.
I'm playing a smartphone.
This is so disorganized there in Gober's knob.
Pull
All right, well, they're just stalling here, so it's 15 minutes ago.
I think they just, this is the, they get one big shot at this every year.
And I think they try to drag it out as long as they can.
All these guys and top hats, but we'll wait and see.
All right.
So it's Groundhog Day today.
You know what happened 13 years ago today in Racine?
Come on, think about it 13 years ago today, where was your snow shovel?
We had 24 inches of snow and that was 13 years ago today in 2011.
Remember you woke up and there was snow everywhere.
I lived on a main street and they, they couldn't plow it fast enough.
And then I had to dig out of my driveway to get my car out.
I started at three o'clock in the morning and it took me over an hour.
And then the plot trucks come by again.
So I just gunned it into the street.
And even on a main street, it was so hard to drive.
And I finally got to the main street bridge and I couldn't see where the railings were.
It was, it was such a blizzard out there.
And I finally saw a police car with his lights on and I followed closely.
And then he disappeared.
I don't know what happened to it.
He just, he was gone.
So I'm going down Washington Avenue and I can't see anything.
It was blinding.
And I am really praying in the car that I don't crash because I couldn't see the sides of the road.
And if anybody was parked on the street and it would normally will take me 10 to 12 minutes
to get to work, took me over an hour because I was panicking.
I couldn't see anything.
So I finally get down to Ohio Street and I can't turn on the victory avenue where the radio station is
because the, the drips are so high there higher than the hood of my car in some spots.
So I get the car turned around and I go to Walgreens on Highway 20 and I walked to the manager.
And I said, I told him who I was and where I worked.
And I said, I've got to get to work and I parked my car here.
And I'll pick it up later today and he saw the, the begging and the, the pain in my eyes.
And he said, yes, just, he showed me where to park the car and he said, park here because we'll be plowing all day.
And I said, I'm going to plow my car and he's now we won't do that.
So the manager let me park my car there.
And I had two bags with me, one with fresh clothing and one with food that my wife gave me,
souped everything and I started out and I couldn't get across Highway 20 because the snowbank was so high.
It was up to my waist.
So eventually I did and I'm walking down victory avenue and the snow was up to my knees in some spots.
I'm going down Ohio Street and I get to victory.
Now it's even higher than that and I am huffing.
I'm puffing.
It's a blizzard out there and I finally get to the radio station.
Tom Carco opens the door, gets me in there as quick as he can.
I sit down.
He gives me a bottle of water, glass of water and I cannot believe it took me nine.
I had to walk nine tenths of a mile and that blizzard.
And little did I know two and a half months later, I'd be in the hospital with open heart surgery.
You, my surgeon when I told him the story said, you're lucky.
You made it walking in that blizzard.
I was 13 years ago this morning and I made it in at 630.
And in my 24 years at this radio station, it was the only time I was ever late.
I walked in about 630.
It was supposed to be here at six the latest and I won a clock in the afternoon.
The sun was out.
What is this Miami Beach?
That's right.
What Chuck Chuckers?
It's Groundhog Day!
It's all right.
I talked into the break.
The clock this morning, my clock went out on the computer.
And I got a backup clock.
But it's not in front of me.
It's like, my clock went out.
And I reset it and it still didn't come up yet for 30 minutes.
So waiting for the gum up.
Now's the day we get to the morning.
It's 621 and WRJ and radio.
So waiting for those people, they were supposed to do this 21 minutes ago.
And they still haven't brought out the...
At least the one brought out the Groundhog.
Punk to Tony Phil.
Okay, I think we're about to find out here.
Boy, do they know how to stretch this out?
Don't they?
All right, they're knocking on his door.
This is it, folks.
This is it.
They're knocking on his door.
And Gobler's knob.
21 minutes.
22 minutes.
They're still stretching this out.
All right, they got the door open.
Okay, he's out.
Scared to death, but he's out of the thing.
They're holding him up now.
And we'll find out if he sees his shadow.
At poor little creatures, scared to death.
Now I know why Peter was again.
Again.
Here it comes.
Again, I'm sitting on top of the tree trunk.
Okay, we have a decision.
Here it comes.
A prediction has been made, Mr. President.
Hear ye, hear ye.
Now on this February 2nd punks, it's Hanifil, the seer of seers.
Prognosticator of all prognosticators.
Was awakened from his wintry nap at dawn.
Gobler's knob.
Phil looked to the skies, and then speaking in groundhog ease,
directed the president to the proper scroll, which reads.
Another winter's slumbered pause, so I could meet the crowd.
Partlessly, anyway, when the party's this loud.
I envy your energy.
I envy the fun.
I envy all of you and your opposable thumbs.
But it's not what I feel.
It's what I see and what you hear, so gather round and let me be clear.
Atmosphere is a wonderful thing.
And we can create our own and the weather it brings.
It brings hope for the future and so much more.
Maybe some punks at Hanifil right in votes in 2024.
But what this weather did not provide is a shadow or reason to hide.
Glad tidings on this groundhog day and early spring is on the way.
All right, there you go.
We finally got it.
It took 25 minutes.
We got it.
An early spring.
There it is.
They're showing the proclamation.
There's Phil's scared to death.
He's in the arms of one of the...
Actually, he's petting him.
He might be okay.
Just very loud there.
Okay.
Those people I've accomplished now have been punks of Donnie Pennsylvania having a ball.
They're jumping around that we're in groundhog hats and...
The mouse is here.
Another get nothing else to do.
Poor Phil.
The holding him up to the camera is their snapping pickers of them and...
I guess that's it, right?
If you would like a photograph.
Okay.
On stage.
All right, so there you go.
An early spring.
I guess he didn't see a shadow, right?
I don't know how he cannot see a shadow with all the lights on him there.
But he didn't see it.
So an early spring from Punks of Donnie Phil.
Poor groundhog.
I feel terrible.
Now I know why Peter was against this whole thing.
Because it just...
Oh, that's terrible what they're doing to that poor thing.
All right, Valentine's Day is an ex-holiday up, right?
We got room we're done with...
We're done with groundhog day now.
Let's move on to Valentine's Day.
A company is offering a limited edition 12 pack of cookies of Valentine's Day season.
It includes breakup messages.
Now you got four choices, which ones you want to use.
Here are the options.
It's not me, it's you.
You're sweet, but not my flavor.
I have the hots for your roommate.
And we're done.
Have a nice life.
I know it's a joke.
But still, you're not going to give those to anybody.
I would be awful.
That's just a horrible thing to give somebody.
Yeah, the Valentine's Day stuff was out on to December 26th.
They started bringing all that stuff out.
A 285 year old dried up lemon just auctioned off for $1,780 in England.
It had been found in an old cabinet.
It even had the inscription dated with the year 1739, who puts a year on a lemon.
What are you going to do with that?
Make old rancid lemonade?
I mean, really?
There's nothing to do with that thing.
A politician in Illinois backing off a proposed bill that would stop cops from pulling you over
unless you're going at least 26 miles over the speed limit.
It would let people drive with expired license plates, defective mirrors, and no seat belts.
The politician says it was just meant to start a discussion about people getting pulled over
from minor stuff and busted for things like drugs.
So he says you can go 25 miles over the speed limit.
So in a 25 mile zone, like on Main Street downtown, you can go 50.
And there's no problem with that.
This is where our tax dollars are going.
Also, it's expired license plates.
What are these politicians thinking when they do stupid things like that?
Really, when you think about what are they trying to, I mean, this, this is what they do.
There's so many problems.
So many potholes we have to get fixed in this country, and they're doing dopey things like that.
All right, the weather forecast for us today.
Cloudy with a hide your 38 degrees part of cloudy tonight, loads 33 tomorrow, sunny with a hide your 39.
Sunday, sunny again with a hide your 41 beautiful weather.
And we've got tickets to get boy to Lauren dagel.
She's coming to the Wisconsin State Fair of Friday, August 9th.
Your chance to win tickets coming up at just a moment here at WRJN, a civic media station,
hometown radio, we're fresh.
We have no sports on the air tonight.
But tomorrow, the bucks will be at the Mavericks playing at 7 p.m. Sunday.
We've got the badgers against Purdue here at home at 11 a.m.
And the bucks will be at the jazz 630 on Sunday.
There you go.
Full schedule for the weekend. Nothing today though.
629 at WRJN.
I got you, baby.
I got you, baby.
Okay, campers, rise and shine and don't forget your booties.
Cut this cold out there.
It's cold out there every day.
What is this, Miami Beach?
That's right, woodchuck chuckers.
It's Groundhog Day.
I thought love was only true in fairytales.
And for someone else, but not for me.
A love was out to get lifted.
And that's the way it's seen.
Disappointment haunted all my dreams.
Then I saw her face.
Now I'm a believer.
I'm a train.
Put out in my mind.
I'm a believer.
I'm a believer I couldn't refuse my try.
I'm a lover's lover's lover.
Hey, good morning.
It's 6.35.
Well, you woodchuck chuckers.
Oh, we're going to have to live that over and over all morning long.
Cloudy today with a height of 38 degrees right now.
Cloudy in 35.
And we're seeing coming up your chance to win.
Lauren Dagle tickets.
She's coming to the Wisconsin State Fair.
And that's going to be Friday, August 9th.
It does like a long way away.
It's really not that long.
Coming up later on this morning at 7.30.
There's no ease with Brent Hoffman of Marcus theaters and sports with Mike Clemens at 7.50 this morning.
But right now from our new center, we're going to tell you the news headlines.
Stuart J. Waddle putting all these together for us this morning.
There's an ongoing investigation into the deaths of two people who were shot inside a sports bar in Elkorn.
Early yesterday morning, police discovered the bodies of 33 year old Emerson Wengart.
And his wife, 37 year old Gina inside the sports page bar.
It's unclear to investigators whether the shooting was an attempted robbery or something else.
No one has been taken into custody yet.
An electric vehicle parking lot.
And then events spotlighting EVs are coming to receive the Milwaukee Business Journal reports.
A developer of the hotel verdant bought a parking lot next to the west of the building and plants installing 24 EV charging stations.
That's on 5th.
The hotel will host an EV event in August as part of a statewide EV road trip organized by the Wisconsin Electric Vehicle Association
between a car show and the display of electric vehicles.
And certain communities in person absentee voting starts next week.
You can visit my vote dot w i dot gov to see if your community is hosting a spring primary Tuesday is the first day to vote in the cities of Milwaukee.
Receive can ocean others.
That website has information on where to cast an absentee ballot in person as well as had a request one no matter how you vote.
You must have photo ID.
The pillow guy will be in received county this weekend, campaigning against Robin Voss.
Mike Lindell is part of an event at the fountain banquet hall in Stertivan with event listing saying he's trying to raise support for a recall effort against local representative and speaker of the assembly Voss.
An effort to recall Voss started late last year.
And finally, would you get on a Racine bus Sunday?
You'll see a familiar face.
The city of Racine will honor Rosa Parks birthday Sunday by reserving a seat on every bus in honor of her contributions to civil rights.
The tribute will feature a rose and a poster with parks inspiring quote.
It's part of a city of Racine recognition of transit equity day, which is meant to spotlight public transportation.
There's a scholarship available as part of the observation.
Those are the news headlines for watching in our news centers to which a wattles our news director doing all the watching for us this morning.
I'll update these stories and more coming up throughout the morning case you didn't hear it.
An early spring.
That's right.
Monks and tawny filled.
Did you see a shadow of dincey?
I don't think you saw a shadow.
That means an early spring.
If you don't see a shadow, it's an early spring.
I get confused on that.
So anyway, regardless, we're going to have an early spring.
All right, we made it through another month.
We're in February now.
Here are things to look forward to this month in sports.
We've got the probe all this Sunday.
Super Bowl 58 is next Sunday.
Let's see if the day tone of five hundred stock car racing is back on February 18th.
If you like over the top outfits, New York Fashion Week starts next Friday and runs through February 14th.
On TV, the Grammys are this Sunday.
The final season of curb your enthusiasm starts Sunday as well.
In theaters this month, we have the new spy action comedy our guy opening today.
The Spider-Man spin off Madam Webb with Dakota Johnson is out on February 14th.
Bob Marley, one love opens up February 14th as well.
And so does the new horror movie Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey.
Two.
They actually had a number one.
And we've got the holidays.
The big one Marty Grah on February 13th Valentine's Day, the 14th president's day, the 19th.
And of course, February is black history month.
There are more holidays we got coming up.
First of all, today is Groundhog Day.
We know that National Peach a day coming up February 9th.
Laté Day is the 11th and then comes the booze.
Drink wine day, the 18th National Marguerita Day on the 22nd.
And if you're a leapier baby, finally, after three years of nothing, you get to celebrate one of those rare things called a birthday.
Because this year we have a February 29th.
There you go.
That's what's happening in the month of February.
It's, it's not as short as it is.
It's still short, but it's not as short as it usually is.
Well, let's see what we got for you here.
Oh, a survey found half of Americans think they're finally will get in shape someday.
But bring not today.
They said the survey also looked at the top things that make us realize how out of shape we are.
They include feeling winded and trying on clothes that don't fit.
That makes sense.
We talked about goblers.
Now, but did you know it attracts thousands of people to goblers.
Now punk to Tony Pennsylvania like we heard this morning.
The record was 40,000 people back in 2020.
The next year it was zero because they had to do it virtually because of COVID-19.
And the Bill Murray movie came out 30 plus years ago this month.
Only around 2000 people were showing up for it before that.
But he kind of changed all that.
Odd but true.
You know, the game Twister, you ever played a game?
We have spent a color.
You got to put your hand down on it color than your leg and the other person's twisted all over you.
Remember that?
That became popular after it was featured on the tonight show with Johnny Carson.
He played it with Abigail Boer May 3, 1966.
And after that, everybody started buying the game.
Twister.
One online bookie is offering odds that aliens will invade Las Vegas during the Super Bowl.
And the game will end in a tie.
They say there's a 0.1% likelihood.
Which means you could make big money if you win.
Now do the aliens have to come in and the games in a tie at the same time?
A woman in Milwaukee was frantic when her elderly dog, a 16 year old chitsoo named Bear,
went missing last week.
She got a text message letting her no bear was okay and just went to the bar.
The question I have.
Did Bear send that text message?
Is that how that worked?
I mean, that happened.
For some reason, Atlanta 9-1-1 dispatchers are getting more non-emergency calls.
Here are some of the things they got recently.
People needing pillows moved from one couch to another and asking for a score to a game.
You believe people are actually wasting time like that with 9-1-1?
People have talked about things that should be illegal that really aren't.
But what about things that feel strangely illegal or wrong?
Even though they're just normal.
Liberty thing is like there's a thread going online now where people are suggesting this stuff.
And you could probably relate to some of it like walking through a store and leaving without buying anything.
The person said it was mad as being tackled on the way out.
Yeah, I always feel funny when I walk out of the store and I don't go through the cash register.
I didn't buy anything, but I still feel guilty about it.
Walking into a restaurant, changing your mind and walking back out again.
I think I've only done that once.
That is strange.
Passing a police car on the highway, even though you're doing the speed limit.
I think we all get nervous about that, don't we?
I do it all the time.
I drive fast, but I am a little nervous about breaking up banana bunches at the grocery store to get the exact number of bananas you want.
I always make sure I was looking first.
That I do it.
Pulling out a notepad and taking notes about various aspects of a store or merchandise that usually attracts a staff person who asks if you need assistance.
The other day, I had to film something in one of the supermarkets to show my wife where it was located because she couldn't find it.
So I filmed it and I felt really strange filming something in the supermarket.
I made sure nobody was in my picture.
I went to the aisle was empty, so there's nobody there.
But still, I felt like, you know, security's going to clamp down on me.
What are you filming in my store?
You can't do that. It's not a public place.
Hmm.
Save those coins.
13 years ago, a waitress in Southern California named Carrie at the idea to save all her dimes from work with the gold of eventually using them to pay for a graduation trip for a daughter to Hawaii.
Well, a daughter graduated and carry cash in her dimes to the tune of $5,665.
Enough for her and her daughter to go to a Wahoo for seven days.
I leave next month. It'll be their first trip to Hawaii.
Wow.
Just from collecting dimes.
Here's a trivia question for you.
What's the last movie ever released on VHS in America?
I saw the movie in the theaters. It was wasn't a bad movie. It was called The History of Violence came out in 2006 on VHS.
And that was the last movie ever released on VHS.
I'm sure some day I'll say, what was the last movie ever released on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K?
So we're going to get that one.
That's sad. I love DVDs.
I like VHS. There's something better game along.
I don't like streaming, though, because when I have a DVD, I get to watch what I want when I want to watch it, and nobody can take it away from me.
I'm streaming. They pull stuff all the time.
All right. It's a little nostalgic to think about your own old school days in high school, right?
Someone that asks people to name things they don't miss about high school. Think you don't miss about it.
All right. Here's what they came up with. You ready?
Needing permission to use the bathroom, bullies, and mean clicks.
All the homework.
Early mornings, like if your school started at 8 a.m., they expected you to be having your brain ready early in the morning,
feeling judged for everything you wore.
Oh, I got stories about that.
When friends were suddenly mean to you for no apparent reason, my daughter had to go through that.
And having to get up and speak in front of the whole class, taking standardized testing,
not being welcomed at certain lunch tables, having to do book reports in the pressure of finding a prom date.
Boy, high school was tougher than I thought.
Huh. I never gave thought to some of those before.
Yeah. One day in junior high, I got a pair of Hush Puppies shoes.
This was back in the 60s.
I got a pair of Hush Puppies shoes and they were rust colored and everybody made fun of them.
But yet I still had to walk around the rest of the day with those Hush Puppies on.
And, you know, I, you know, I felt bad all day long and people were just making fun of it.
I don't know why they were making fun of it, but they were.
Okay. Let's get some business taken care of here.

Yeah, my clock's been out all morning.
And it just took one hour to come up on the computer screen.
One hour.
It's still not up yet.
But I see it's getting there.
It should be there any moment.
Gotta have a clock in radio.
Won't work without a clock.
Okay.
For today's cloudy with a hundred thirty eight degrees.
Part of the cloudy tonight.
Lowes around thirty three.
Tomorrow sunny with a hundred thirty nine.
Sunday sunny with a hundred forty one.
What a weekend.
Oh, weekend, huh?
Well, you woke me from a dream about you.
It's a say that you were leaving.
I'm sleepy, but I thought that you said I love that will last forever.
And well, before you walk out of my life,
would you be especially quiet?
And don't you let my heart know that you're leaving?
Don't you say another word of my darling?
Don't you let my heart hear your footsteps?
Walk out the door of my purse and drink it.
Don't you let my heart know that you're leaving?
Don't you say another word of my darling?
Leave me now before my heart finds out.
Well, I see you riding something down.
It's 652 at WRGN Radio.
Thanks for joining me here.
I'm Don Rosen.
It is a Friday morning.
We're talking movies at seven thirty.
And then also at seven fifty this morning,
we're talking sports with Mike Clemens.
What do you think about this?
For getting even two women in Houston, Texas found out they were dating the same guy.
Right before the man was going to take a trip to Turkey with one of them.
So the two women dumped him at the airport and vacationed to Turkey together.
That sounds like that sounds good.
I like that.
A family in England found a dead cat along the roadside
and thought it was their missing cat Frankie.
So they had a cremated.
Then Frankie suddenly showed up back at their house alive and well.
Uh oh, that's not good.
The National Park Service once again,
gently reminding tourists not to push their slower friends
into the path of oncoming bears.
We have to remind people of that not to do that.
Streaming might be making movies worse.
Experts say the quality is diminishing
because the movies are going straight to streaming services.
And they'll longer have to be good enough to lure people out of their homes
and into a movie theater.
A survey came up with the official list of signs
that you're getting old.
All right.
You ready for this?
You wake up feeling stiff.
Growning when you bend down so far.
Yes.
Saying it wasn't like that when I was young.
Yeah.
And getting like that.
Not recognizing any songs at the top 10.
Oh, brother.
Hating noisy bars and restaurants.
Talking a lot about your day-to-day aches and pains.
I was talking to my daughter about that yesterday.
I was on the phone with my sister-in-law for 40 minutes.
All we talked about was our aches and pains.
Choosing clothing and shoes for comfort over style.
I've done that my entire life.
Thinking cops, teachers and doctors look young.
All they do.
Little whipper snappers.
And finding you have no idea what young people are talking about.
Oh, brother.
Those are how many things?
One, two, three, four, five, six, seventy nine.
Yep.
I checked off all nine of those things.
Isn't that scary?
That's good.
Oh, true.
How true.
Here's a fun fact for you.
Eddie Van Halen did the guitar solo.
Michael Jackson used on the song Beat It.
And he did it for free.
Eddie Van Halen would later say he did it as a favor.
He said I was a complete fool.
He added that he was not used by Michael Jackson.
He agreed to do it because he wanted to do it.
But he should have asked for money.
53% of Americans say they were inherited some of their bad snacking habits from their parents.
On top snacks we've been obsessing with since we were kids.
Cookies, potatoes chips, popcorn pretzels and corn chips.
I have to absolve my parents of those stuff because I don't think they ever...
I don't think they ever snacked a lot.
Now my parents smoked a lot, but that didn't rub off on me because I never smoked a cigarette in my life.
And they drank a lot of coffee and I don't drink coffee.
So 13 year old kid put a message in a bottle, dropped it in the ocean and rode island.
And three years later a different teenager founded a Portugal 20, 400 miles away.
I did that once.
I was on a cruise ship and a friend of mine on the cruise ship and I decided we're going to get a bottle.
There was a bottle.
He drank a bottle of beer and it had an airtight seal on it.
So we put a message in there.
We put a dollar bill in there kind of an incentive to open the bottle.
Then we did something real stupid.
We put our business cards in there.
Now I found out later it's illegal to throw things over into the ocean from a cruise ship.
But we stuck our business cards in there.
So we threw it overboard.
And we weren't that far from the coast to Cuba.
So it probably wound up on the coast to Cuba somewhere.
Now, what are you going to do?
Nobody ever called me.
And as a matter of fact, the business card was from this radio station.
So if I ever get a call, I'll know what it was from here.
Okay.
What else we got for you today?
There was something else they had wanted to talk to you about.
Oh, yeah.
Survey found the average person finally stops worrying about what other people think at the age
of.
What do you think it is?
46.
Wow.
We finally feel okay about our appearance in our mid 30s for men.
It's 34 for women 36.
The average person feels settled in and okay about their relationship at age 37.
We don't truly feel good about our career until we had 40.
In general, we feel comfortable in our own skin at 42.
We don't feel like we can really speak our mind up to our early to mid 40s for men.
45.
And we finally relax about our finances at 107.
No, we finally relax about our finances at age 50.
Maybe it is that.
Okay.
Let's quick recap here this morning in this hour.
We found out the punks of Tony Phil was frightened when they brought him out of a little tree trunk.
There's plastic tree trunk.
And I guess he didn't see a shadow.
We have an early spring.
They look surprised though.
And they said that.
Oh my goodness, an early spring.
Isn't that what we want an early spring?
So anyway, so punks of Tony Phil predicted an early spring for us, which was nice.
That's always good.
71% of people say they're stressed out at work these days.
The top three reasons were stressed deadlines.
Their job, life or death implications for other people.
Wow.
And competitiveness and clocks that don't work.
Mine still is not working.
It's been synchronizing now.
Well, it just got up there after an hour.
Now it's synchronizing for the last 15 minutes.
So it'll get there eventually.
I guess.
Well, I don't really believe the clock will start working.
You need an exact clock here.
But maybe if I throw a shoe out of there's something, it will start working.
And we'll find out.
All right.
For today, cloudy with a height of 38 degrees.
Part of cloudy lows around 33 tonight.
Sun shiny, a beautiful weekend.
Tomorrow, highs of 39 sunny on Sunday with a high near 41 degrees.
Don't you love it.
I love it.
I'm going to be out there this weekend picking up little garbage
that people threw all over my front lawn.
You know, there's a convenience store about a few blocks from me.
And my son timed it out.
He said, you know, it takes that long for them to eat a bag of
pretzels and drink a soda because there always seem to be throwing
it on our front lawn.
He's right.
It takes that distance to drink a can of soda and eat a bag of potato chips
or whatever and throw it on our front lawn.
So I think I'll pick it up this weekend.
It'll be nice.
