Try and eat healthy. I drink the bottled water. I feel kind of, and it makes you go to the

bathroom every 10 seconds. But, you know, I feel kind of silly buying the bottled water.

Maybe I'm just too midwestern. Every time I go in a store, I'm always like, hey, how

you doing? Yeah, I know I can get water, free from any faucet, but I want to pay for it.

I'm just curious. Too many air back there. Can I buy your garbage? It is water. How

did we get to the point where we're paying for bottled water? That must have been some

weird marketing meeting over in France. Yeah. Some French guy was sitting there, he's like,

how dumb do I think the Americans are? I bet you we could sell those idiots well, too.

Look, here, the Americans are pretty dumb, but they're not going to buy water. Oh, yes,

they are. Let's just tell the Americans the waters from France.

Hey, good morning. I'm Don Rose, and it's 607.

Wednesday, most screwed up. We have a Monday holiday every gets screwed up. On top of that,

we have a change the year. Are you still running 2023? Actually, I'm pretty good at 2024.

It's the day of the week I get screwed up on. You know, I'm laughing at Jim Gaffigan here,

paying for water bottle water. Then he makes that joke. You have any air back there. I just

bought a can of air for $10. Regular air compressed air. We use it at the clean things

up. You know, it's spray comes out high intensity $10.50 for a can of air. I don't know what I'm laughing at.

Yeah, the most abundant source on the planet is water, and we're paying three bucks a bottle for

this stuff. You got to laugh at that. There was an old SNL bit where they showed this is when

Perry A first became popular, Perry and water from France. They just some guy in a beret

leaning over a toilet bowl, filling up bottles and saying, oh, you Americans are so gullible.

You know, a bit on SNL is good when I remember it from 25 years ago.

To start of that gospel music, Amy Grant, they went to pop music after that.

You know, gospel music is great and all but the money is in pop music. She found that

but a talent. Amy Grant at 610 at WRJN coming up at 706 this morning. I'm going to start our new

series here for 2024. It's called WRJN Historical Marker. Today's WRJN Historical Marker 1.

Today we take a look at WRJN's ownership of the station from 1991 for about, I know, 10 years

to Tony on it. Tony Gasana is going to be my guest at 706 this morning. What we're going to do is

we are going to record the history of WRJN radio this year with everybody we can get our hands on.

He used to work here and we'll get information from them. What it was like then, like in Tony's

case, what made him get into radio and buy a radio station. He owned other stations too, but he

owned this one and he was he was a great owner. Tony Gasana was a great radio owner and we'll talk

about a lot of the things that he did at WRJN starting in 19. Well, I got here in 1991. I think

he bought it a few years earlier. So we'll talk to Tony Gasana. It's WRJN Historical Marker 1. Today

and that's at 706 in each week or so. We'll talk to somebody else worked in radio at WRJN

and get their story and then we're going to archive them. I believe the lady at the

Racine Public Library said she will archive them for us. So 25, 50 years from now when we're all

dead and gone, they'll have a history of what WRJN was like because our 100th anniversary is coming

up in two years and we want to be ready for it. So now it's time to do it and then we'll have

somebody interview me when it's all over. I'll probably the last person we'll do an interview with.

But we want to start off with the older people. We lost about four or five

people in the last few years here. And I don't want to let any more people pass away without getting

their story recorded and preserved in the archives. And that's what we plan to do here at WRJN

over the next year. And then we're going to start today at 706 right now at 612. And we're

looking for a cloudy day today. A slight chance of snow and nothing sticking because the

highs going to be 37 degrees. Cloudy tonight lows around 24 tomorrow sunshine highs near 32.

Then feel like winter does it? I love it. I love waking up in those snow.

Cloudy 32 degrees right now in Racine. Last night, the badgers beat Iowa in the college

basketball college hoops 83 72. Tonight the bucks at the Pacers 7th of office, excuse me 530 PM

here on WRJN Bucks and Pacers Action of 530 tomorrow. The Bucks and the Spurs on WRJN.

And then on Saturday, we have Nebraska at Wisconsin college hoops. Then the Bucks and the Rockets on

Saturday night 630 PM. I got to figure out the dates and the days. The Bears and the Packers major

game 1 PM this Sunday on WRJN. This is going to determine who goes to the playoffs.

Yeah, this will be the big game. So Bears at Lambo this Sunday, you can hear all the action on WRJN

radio. I hope you're not eating right now because I've got some things that are probably not too

clean in your house. Let's start off with that cell phone of yours. Did you remember the last time

you cleaned it? Probably it's either never or a long time ago. I don't mean wiping it off

with a dry cloth. I mean, really clean the phone. You touch it up to 150 times a day and a recent

study tested more than 50 phones and found 7,000 different types of bacteria on them.

That's 7,000 bacteria, 7,000 different types of bacteria on that phone.

Should be wiping down your phone every single day. After hearing that, I think we have to do that.

How about your bed sheets? How often do you change them? Millions, millions of dead skin cells

end up in the fabric and they attract dust mites. You should wash them at least once a week.

I'm going to wash them every few hours now. Kitchen towels should only use them once before

washing them again. Last year, a study found E coli on 25% of kitchen towels. And they're the

dirtiest thing in most people's kitchens, not to mention that sponge. Oof. What's lurking on

that thing? And ladies, how much a purse should actually wipe down the outside and inside with

antibacterial wipes once a week. Everything you put in there comes in contact with bacteria and

it's growing in the dark of your purse. Okay, you can continue eating breakfast now. Okay.

You ever break up with somebody and you say, all right, move on to the next person. Remember to

change all your passwords after a breakup. According to a study, 23% of people say they still logged

into an exes social media account streaming service online calendar at even location sharing apps

not to mention those pin numbers you shared. Remember those pin numbers? Yeah.

I think a quick funny pin story. So this is back in the early 90s, I guess. I went to an ATM and

I forgot my pin number. Now, I remember that Ron Richards who was our operations director here at

the time. He was in the car with me once when I took money out of the ATM. And I thought, well,

maybe he saw me do it. Let me give him a call. I called Ron at home. And I said, I'm at the ATM.

I forgot my pin number. You know what it is? He said, how am I supposed to know your pin number?

Won't you watching me the other day? I took money out of the ATM. He was, no, I wasn't watching

yet. I don't know your pin number. Needless to say, I couldn't remember. I had to change it.

I couldn't remember it. You know, this is something, you know, you got to be careful

when you celebrate a fisherman in Thailand found a rare orange pearl. And he got an offer of

$340,000 for it. Not bad, huh? He threw a party to celebrate with a whole bunch of

meth, meth and phantom means tops broke up the party. He was arrested going to prison now,

so much for the joy of that pearl. If you could see one statistic about yourself,

which would you choose? There's some of the favorite ones. The number of times you've been

right or wrong in arguments. How many people actually love you? And you're changing life

expectancy. You know, I don't really want to know about my life expectancy. I really don't.

And when it comes to right or wrong, I'll just assume I was right every time. And when it comes

to how many people love me, I'll assume you all do. Okay, we'll just live with that. Okay,

you're in the top small things that mean a lot in a relationship. Kissing your loved one good

by each morning, randomly saying, I love you, giving a gift for no reason date nights and

sending flirty text messages. Now, when they say sending flirty text messages, they mean to your

spouse or your partner. They don't need to send person in the office. I'm not supposed to be sending

them to. And did you ever swipe something from a hotel? And we're not talking about those

little oceans and, you know, little soaps. They, you know, you can take those. They don't mind

if you take them. They're just going to throw them out. So you can take them if you want.

But I'm talking about the big items like clock radios, televisions,

and anything you see laying around there, and also pans, you can take the pans, they don't mind,

because they're advertising for them. So you can take that. A survey has hotel owners to name

the craziest thing someone had stolen from their hotel. There's some of the best answers.

A $300,000 Andy Warhol painting, a grand piano, a marble fireplace,

and the hotel owner's dog. Now, here's what I want to know. How the heck did the desk clerk

not see a marble fireplace and a grand piano leading that front door?

I figure you would have spotted that going out going going through the lobby, but now they stole it.

I don't think it was like a small hotel either grand piano that in general, you don't have

in small hotels. All right, we just hope you don't steal something. Andy Warhol was a $300,000

painting at a hotel. All right, coming up. We are going to, what are we going to do here? We're

going to talk to Tony Gazana at 706 this morning was just be the owner of this radio station.

We're going to start our historical marker series and we'll do it first with somebody. I really

know a good friend. It turned out to be a really good friend Tony Gazana. We have some great stories

to share with you. That's all coming up at 706 this morning.

Cloudy, chance of a snow today, slight chance. Nothing's going to stick though. Highs near 37.

Cloudy lows 24 tonight, sunny with a high near 32 tomorrow right now. Cloudy at 32 degrees and coming

at this hour, local news from Stewart J. Wattles in our new center. We'll get the latest headlines

for you right here at WRJN. hometown radio refreshed.

The wind blows hard against this mountain side across the sea into my soul. It reaches into where I cannot hide

excepting my feet upon the road.

Part is old, it's once my memories. My body burns a gem like flame.

Somewhere between the soul and the soul. It's where I find myself again.

Cloudy at 32 degrees and coming at this hour, local news from Stewart J. Wattles in our new center.

Cloudy at 32 degrees and coming at this hour, local news from Stewart J. Wattles in our new center.

Cloudy at 32 degrees and coming at this hour, local news from Stewart J. Wattles in our new center.

When I was young, I found a growing old. It wasn't my life for me to be.

But I had followed down my choice and road. I'm only a whisper that I could be.

Q&A ladies, I've got no road that I must travel. Q&A ladies, I'll give them a talk.

62 and WRJN radio. I'm Don Rosen. I want to thank you for joining us here today on what's going to be a cloudy day with a slight chance to snow.

37 right now 32 degrees and cloudy of WRJN radio. We're 1,400 a.m. 99.9 FM and 98.1 FM in Denotian.

We're a civic media station. Old town radio. We're a fresh.

You ever wonder when you go to Vegas? How come some people get free rooms and free food and all those free perks?

Never wonder then. All right. Go to your professional gambler. If you want to get high roller status at a casino with perks like free rooms and food,

got to spend a lot of money. Now check out what this guy does.

He got status after several hours on $5 and $25 slots. He gambled $811,000 over seven years with a total loss of $34,800.

However, he got $60,500 in free perks. So he figures he doubled his money.

I don't know if I figure that. I'm still on that. You spend $811,000 in gambling for seven years.

I'm still back on that. But you know, if he's lost 34,000, but he got 60,000 back and free perks.

I don't know. Maybe he's doing something right. You got to feel bad for this guy. And I really do feel bad for him.

The guy from New York booked his dream vacation to Sydney, Australia. He accidentally bought a ticket to the small town of Sydney, Montana.

Instead, they're realizing those flight landed in buildings. He had to say to himself, boy, this was a quick flight.

They told me it was going to take 10, 15 hours. It only took about three hours.

Oh, you got to feel bad for that guy. Yeah. His dream vacation. He winds up. And it's not like can get on the next plane from Sydney, Montana and fly to Australia. It doesn't work like that.

Plus he didn't book any flight. Didn't book anything booked to Sydney, Montana. You got to feel bad for him.

All right. So where's that next news report coming from? I got to tell Stuart Wattles about this guy. 12 year old kid in New Jersey.

He heard that a truck full of frozen French fries crashed. So we recorded his own news report and an actual station played it on the air.

He said, no one was hurt. All the fries were fine. And his teacher got stuck in traffic still made it to school on time.

All the things you need for a perfect news report. My kids go in places. We might have to find a spot for him at civic media.

Survey figured out the jobs where people are most likely to fall in love or hook up with a coworker.

Food service managers, most likely to fall in love at work. Artists, most likely to do the hook up.

Lodging managers, most likely to date their bosses and dental hygienists to most likely to be against office romances.

I don't know. I'm the only one in the building right now. No romance going on here. All right.

There are tons of useless things in your house right now. We're not talking about people by the way. We're talking about inanimate objects things.

All right. Not not people. And they're only there because you're too disorganized or lazy to start cleaning.

For example, that ice cream carton that's just about empty sitting in the freezer. Anything in your freezer.

You don't recognize the pile of plastic grocery bags under the sink. We have ours in a basket hanging on the wall as you get down the stairs in the basement.

Must be about 50 or 60 of them in there. We used to use them a lot when we had our dog. We was thinking, you know, little poop bags.

But now we just collect them about your 20, 23 calendar. How about your 20, 22 calendar? How about your 20, 21 calendar? How about your 1998 calendar?

Any cups or glasses? He got free from a fast food restaurant. They used to give out those glasses. I think we have one or two of them.

All the receipts in your wallet, stacks of old magazines you've saved, thinking you'd re-read the article sometime but never got around to it and expired coupons.

I always have to ask myself when I see expired coupons sitting on the dresser in the kitchen, why don't they just immediately throw them out?

I mean, they serve no purpose. I had one the other day. I had it from Coles and I had to use it by the 31st of December and I didn't use it.

And I left it on the dresser. It's why am I saving this? I threw it out. What purpose can this possibly serve later in life? Absolutely none.

A survey found the most embarrassing things that can happen to you on Valentine's Day. You say, why are you talking about Valentine's Day? Have you checked the stores yet?

As soon as Christmas was over at the stroke of midnight, all the Christmas stuff went out. All the Valentine's Day stuff came in. It's out there now.

Anyway, here are the top three things and the most embarrassing things that can happen to you on Valentine's Day.

Getting a gift from a coworker who has a thing for you never happened to me. Giving a gift to someone you're dating and not getting one back and what happened.

And eating alone in a restaurant filled with couples. Every time I hear that, I think of the Steve Martin movie the lonely guy.

He's down to the table in a restaurant and obviously table for two all the place settings are there. So he sits down and the immediately whisk away the second place setting.

I see that restaurant if there were three people and there were four places, they whisk away all the stuff from the four setting for the setting, but it was kind of sad.

The lonely guy was Steve Martin. Good movie.

Okay, some people are so judgmental out there. You know who you are. We know who we are. What do know what people are judging you on?

In a survey, both men and women are almost likely to be judged on someone. They're going to judge them aren't your teeth, their grammar, their hair, their nails and whether or not they have it at two.

So here's my advice to you. Brush your teeth, bone up on your grammar, fix your hair, file your nails. And if you have a tattoo, display it proudly.

Now there are things people aren't going to judge you on. They say they're at least liking to judge you on electronic you have on your car, your shoes and your accent.

By the way, people judge me on my email address. They really do. They say you're still using that as an email address. Yeah, it works.

628 at WRJN radio. Thanks for joining us here on this Wednesday morning. It's going to be a beautiful morning.

What temperature wise, anyway, I have 37 degrees today right now. We're at the freezing mark and there's no frost on the cars this morning. It's first thing I checked.

Cloudy right now. Sunshine tomorrow though. Lesson news headlines coming up for you shortly here at WRJN radio. A civic media radio station.

Home town radio refreshed.

I got a great family. I got a 16-year-old daughter who just got her driver's license. So she should all drop to your knees and think the good lord above that you live here and not where we live.

God, she's growing up. She's growing up, but I don't know when it happened. I used to buy her Minnie Mouse panties and a little Winnie the Poo underwear.

I came home the other day and I was helping my wife fold clothes. I picked up a little pair of skimpy underwear. I looked at my wife and I said, hey!

When are you going to wear these for me? She goes, I can't. They're your daughters. No, no, no. There was nothing to them.

When the how-to wash tag is the biggest piece of cloth on there.

Stand down, all around, walking through the sun.

Waves crash, baby. Don't look back. I would walk away again.

Oh, baby. Where do you go? We are about to gather. I begin, baby. Where do you end? Something's on your ramp.

Circle in the sun, round and round. Never ending love is what we love.

You can really empathize with Bill Angolini.

Oh, and the little girl got so big. Oh, no.

Oh, my little girl got big. Oh, no. She's still my little girl. She's like 40s. Oh, the birthday is coming up.

Oh, better remember that. Coming up January 12th. Oh, some mark that down.

I get a gift for a break. Anyway, oh, it's going to be $44. I can't believe it. That's my little baby right here.

I know how he feels.

706 this morning, we're going to have Tony Gassana join the Gassana here for the hour.

Former owner of WRGN Radio. And we're going to start our series of WRGN Historical Marker.

Today, it's number one of Tony and we're going to find out a little bit of the history of this radio station and preserve it.

Because of our 100th birthday coming up in two years. So we're ready.

Let's take a look at our sports schedule here at WRGN.

Last night, the Badgers over Iowa 83 72 coming up tonight. The bucks at the Pacers.

They'll be playing at 5 30 p.m. on WRGN. The bucks at the Spurs 6 p.m. Thursday in Nebraska at Wisconsin.

That's a Badger basketball Saturday 12 noon Saturday 9th. The bucks will be at the Rockets at 6 30 p.m.

And the big one, the Bears at Lambo Field to take on the Packers 1 o'clock Sunday.

This is a do-it-die game for the Green Bay Packers. They beat the Bears this year, eh?

No, this could be no problem. Just wall over that. Don't say that because that always comes back to haunt you.

You think it's too easy?

Didn't Aaron Rodgers say he'd be back in December with the New York Jets?

I don't think everyone's back yet, did he?

But he's talking about the...

December.

Anyway, good morning at 6 38 at WRGN Radio.

All right, it's got a wedding coming up. You want perfect sunny weather for your wedding?

I'm all set for you.

There's a company in the UK offering a new service that they will destroy the clouds overhead.

It's a bit pricey. I'd be out of your price range because $150,000.

So far, it's only offered for wedding venues in France.

So if you have a new wedding in France, you might look these people up.

Okay, guys, if you're thinking about proposing, there's the way to do it and there's the way not to do it.

21% of women who have been engaged say they were disappointed by their proposal.

And the top five reasons are he didn't make it special. He didn't get down on one knee.

He didn't get her parents blessing. The ring didn't fit.

And he proposed without a ring.

Guys, get your act together.

All right, we're looking to burn calories this new year and lose some weight.

And if you don't want to do it, working out at a gym, here are some ways to do it.

Random activities and how many calories they burn.

You could burn 100 calories by playing with your dog for 30 minutes.

200 calories washing and cleaning out your car for an hour.

300 calories shopping for two hours and 400 calories by helping a friend move for 45 minutes.

Well, that's not going to happen.

I heard you can actually lose calories in your sleep just by sleeping.

I think I'm going to try that method first before I venture out into these dramatic ways to lose weight.

A guy in Wisconsin robbed the credit union said he did it because wanted to try something new today.

He was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

There's something new.

An amateur rapper who calls himself money bags arrested in California.

Counterfeit money.

You can't have that.

Would you spot counterfeit money?

I went to a place in Chicago with my wife.

And it was the mint or wherever it wasn't Chicago, the money museum.

And they showed counterfeit money there.

Some of it's pretty obvious.

Some of it's not so obvious.

A lot of times you can tell by the paper they use because they can't get the actual fiber paper that they use,

you know, where they print the money in Washington or wherever they print it.

They can't get that money.

They can't print the money.

And some of it's real obvious.

The mistakes Lincoln, you know, winking his eye at you.

George Washington giving you a wave, you know, things like that.

Technology is about to make it harder for you to steal towels from hotels.

There's a company selling tiny, tiny affordable tracking chips that hotels can put in their towels and robes.

Where the 2000 hotels are already started using them.

So, so they're going to sit there.

Oh, there's Don Rosen pulling out of our parking lot.

Hmm, I see he's got two towels and a robe.

Let's follow.

See where he's going.

Oh, look at that.

He's headed back to Wisconsin.

We'll just sit here at lunch and watch him on the freeway.

I will never m in exit 32.

Is that what they're going to do?

If you're falling out of love with your job, maybe you should consider something new in 2024.

Like the fire department.

There's a new list of the happiest, most satisfying careers according to experts here at the top five physical therapists.

The average salary is over $90,000 a year.

But it requires a doctorate and a state license.

One thing it might be satisfying for you to get to work with people who improve you improve their health.

And you get to see the results of the improvement.

That's pretty satisfying.

Firefighters, the average salary is around 49,000.

It doesn't require as a high school diploma or GED, but it's kind of dangerous, isn't it?

Going into those fires, rescuing people.

Noble, but dangerous.

About a teacher, teaching assistant and a quality assurance analyst.

Notice how this jockey didn't make the list.

Never does.

Odd but true, according to a study out of Harvard University, adults spend as much as 47% of their waking lives.

Letting their minds wander.

Hello, are you listening?

All right.

Here's a good story for you.

A woman in Ohio named Megan, as a grandfather who struggles to speak because he has advanced Parkinson's.

So she gave him a sound box with an old recording of him saying, I love you, Megan.

And when he feels it, and he can't say it, he pushes the button.

Says, I love you, Megan.

Isn't that great?

I love that idea.

Well, that's another thing we're talking Tony about.

Besides the radio station, he has recorded his mom and dad.

I'm just writing it down so I don't forget.

He recorded his mom and dad had a professional ancestry person come in and record them.

And his dad since passed away, but he's got six CDs of him answering questions about his life.

He brought a professional in to do the interview.

Well, that's kind of neat, but a great idea.

So we'll talk to Tony about that as well coming up at 706.

Odd but true.

Are you ready?

Some movie facts here.

The dinosaurs are only on screen for 15 minutes total in the original Jurassic Park.

You think they were on the pictures two hours.

I think they're on screen more than that.

The first feature film ever made from a Marvel comic book was Howard the Duck in 1986 and bombed at the box office.

I kind of liked it though.

And here's another odd but true Philadelphia cream cheese actually created in Chester, New York.

So why isn't it called Chester, New York cream cheese instead of Philadelphia cream cheese?

All right, you're waking up right now.

You're getting up.

Let's give her to some of those bad habits of yours.

You end up feeling more rested.

If you don't start the day by hitting the snooze button and by the way,

why is the snooze button only nine minutes?

Who came up with nine minutes?

Not 10 minutes where it's easy to figure out.

Nine minutes.

They're all nine minutes.

Mine is nine minutes.

My clock on my, my snooze on my phone is nine minutes still.

Immediately checking your cell phone.

I do that every morning.

I open my eyes and turn on the phone to see what went on.

Oh, no, why I just do it.

I also turned on the radio to see if the world is still there.

You know, while I was snoozing away,

how about relying on sugar to get you going in the morning and the long run

they can all make your first half of your day more stressful.

So stop hitting this snooze button.

Put down the phone first thing and stop getting a pile of sugar in your body.

Although I did read this morning when I picked up my phone first thing.

The news headlines are on there.

And there was a CBS news story about this 101 year old guy, 101.

And he said the secret to his longevity is drinking soda.

He drinks Dr. Pepper.

He drank it as an entire life.

That is the secret to his longevity.

He said drinking Dr. Pepper soda.

I give up soda about seven years ago, six, seven years ago.

Give it up.

I was drinking too much diet soda.

My wife pointed it out to me.

You know, check the ingredients on that.

And I said, well, maybe it's not that good for me.

So I dropped, stopped drinking diet soda.

I was four diet Pepsi today when I came in this radio station to work.

I poured a whole bunch of diet Pepsi's with me and not the little tiny ones.

They were pretty big size, not the big leader bottles, but you know, some bigger ones.

And I drank them because I don't drink coffee.

So I needed something to get me up and go into the morning.

So I used to drink all that soda.

And one day I decided, well, no more diet soda.

And I said, why drink soda period?

So I stopped.

So I don't drink soda.

I never had a beer in my life.

I don't drink alcohol.

So it's water, milk, and orange juice.

That's it.

That's all there is to my life.

So I drink a lot of water.

All right.

There were 50 billion with a B scam calls to Americans last year, 50 billion.

There's an average of 129.5 million every day or 1500 each second.

94% of people will not answer calls from unknown numbers according to this survey.

That's up from 72% a year ago.

If you're not in my directory, it goes right to voicemail.

Because I don't really bother the whole day with scam callers.

And by the way, my phone said scam caller the other day.

A spam risk.

It said spam risk.

It turns out it was peach Wabba calling me to do his show in the evening on the Civic Media Radio.

That work came up with spam risk.

So you got to be careful.

It's not everything's a spam risk out there.

All right.

Guy and Florida secretly involved in two serious long term relationships stole an engagement ring.

He gave to one of the women so he could use it to propose to the other one.

The women compared notes figured out what was happening.

A cop should have worn for the guys to rest.

And I think that guy needs a warning label going across him.

This guy could be dangerous to your health.

All right, a lot of people started working from home during the pandemic.

Here's one benefit survey found one in three people have stolen someone else's food at work.

So now food food theft is down.

Just under a half of us had something stolen from us drinks with a number one thing.

People help themselves to the most stolen beverages at work.

So does special coffees and energy drinks like Red Bull?

One in 17 people have even stolen food right out of someone's lunch bag.

Wow.

Or even a lunch box if it's not guarded.

That's kind of not nice.

I'm never stolen food from anybody.

I've never had food stolen from me either because I don't bring food to work.

So maybe that's why.

And the only other person with me sometimes here is Stuart J. Wattles.

And you know, I trust Stuart.

You're not going to steal my food.

That's why I hide it anyway just to be sure.

A study found the most common flirting techniques people using these days.

Here they are maintaining eye contact giving someone a compliment making fun of them.

Looking at them and quickly turning away when they notice and asking them for help.

If I asked somebody for help, but it's a woman that's flirting.

That's right.

I help all the time.

So everybody found the extreme things people would do to get rid of their student loans.

Are you ready for this?

This is a desperate people are to get rid of their loans.

57 would take a punch from Mike Tyson.

That's got to hurt.

40% would shave a year off their lives.

21% would wear the same outfit every day for a year.

Well, some people do that in any way.

And get this 7% to get rid of their student loans.

We cut their pinky off.

Oh, not their pinky toe with their pinky off their hand.

Oh, you can do this.

You can just pay your student loan off.

Keep your pinky.

Don't get punched by Mike Tyson.

I think you can change your clothes every day.

Hmm.

648.

I'm just thinking, I'm looking at my pinky on my hand.

Would I really need it if I get rid of my student loan?

It's going to be cloudy today.

It's like chance of snow.

News being covered by students J Wattles, our news director in the news center this

morning will keep you on top of these stories and a lot more throughout the

entire day here at W R J and radio coming up at seven of those six this morning.

Our new series for 2024 W R J and historical marker today.

Number one Tony Gassana is going to be your Tony was our owner and general manager.

Chief cooking bottle washer several years when I first came here.

So he's going to talk about radio ownership,

but it was like a W R J and we have some fun stories to tell you about some things

that happened here during his tenure as owner of the radio station.

And how he got involved with Craig Marcus and Tony formed Marcus Gassana and they were

Gassana.

No, it's Marcus.

I'm going to check with him just to make sure who came first.

I think George Greg Marcus came first Marcus Gassana radio.

So that happened and why he sold it to blitz communications.

So we'll find out all that information from Tony Gassana coming up this morning at seven

oh six.

As we begin our W R J and historical marker series today number one.

All right, what else I have got for you here in the last few minutes?

Oh, here's some easy things you could do to make your significant other feel more special

today.

Come on, your wife, your husband, your partner, they can feel special.

Take a chore off their plate like unloading the dishwasher or walking the dog, give them

a compliment and set a complaining about what's wrong and given to something they want instead

of trying to get your way.

It just so happens, I'm doing that.

I told my wife, she set up all our Christmas decorations and every year she takes them

down, puts some boy packs them up and that said, I said to her last night, she was down

to the basement, I said, I will do it when I get home today.

I will box everything up.

You don't have to do it.

She's getting over a cold and today's her first day back to work after the cold.

And you know, you're a little run down after going through it.

She spent the entire holidays with a cold and she's okay and all better.

But still, I said, I will do it.

Now, I'm not going to do it when she comes home tonight, she'll see them.

I'm not going to pack that stuff away.

Actually, I will.

I will do that for tonight because she's so good and she does it every year.

And the only thing is I got to find the boxes for everything.

I know I'm going to do something wrong.

She doesn't like, but I'm going to do it because I want to do something nice for my wife

today.

So that's that.

Oh, I want to talk about this, you ever leave a glass of water out all night?

You wake up first thing in the morning, you take your pills with that water.

Is it safe to drink that glass of water after it was sitting out all night long?

Apparently not, especially if it's an open glass, bacteria has fallen into that glass

during the night.

So you're drinking bacteria.

Even a bottle of water starts to grow bacteria once it's touched your lips.

I always heard that you should never save a bottle of water because the plastic starts

to break down in the water.

Have you ever heard that?

I heard it.

It starts to break down and you're drinking that stuff.

All right.

Here's a funny way to get more dates.

Make sure at least one of your dating profile pictures has you in a cat in it.

Paul found makes you more attractive than a cat.

If you're allergic to the cat, try to get the picture taken between sneezes.

All the pre-made championship hats and shirts.

Now we have all these championships coming up for the Super Bowl.

We just had the ball game championships.

We actually have the main championship still coming up in football for college teams.

But what happens to those losers, the hats and the shirts?

Because when the Packers, let's just say, play somebody big in the Super Bowl.

Two Super Bowl teams are out there.

Both teams have their championship gear made already so they can immediately get it

out there.

So the losers though, what do they do with their stuff?

Well, there's what happens.

A charity called Good 360 makes that stuff good by getting it to donate it to donated

to the countries that needed.

In the past, they've used shirts to help close people in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and

the Middle East.

So they're all wearing the losing team shirts and hats.

But hey, every little bit helps, you know, they get all that stuff printed up championships

and then they lose them.

Not but true, only one pro football ball, hey, name and speak this morning is going to

be some interview coming up at seven or six, only one pro football team has been playing

since the 1800s without taking a single season off.

You will not guess the team in a million years.

So I'll tell you, the Arizona Cardinals believe it or not.

You see, they were founded in Chicago in 1898 and have been playing ever since.

There you go.

And finally, how can people be so gullible?

Are you ready for this one?

But people are amazing.

They are gullible though, check this out.

Scammers got a guy in Russia to send them his entire life savings, then got him to commit

a crime.

They claimed his account got hacked and had him transfer $17,000 into their accounts that

they controlled.

They asked him to expose the hackers by going to the bank of throwing a Molotov cocktail

on the floor.

He did.

Got arrested.

How could people be so gullible?

How do you do that?

All right.

I'm Don Rosen.

I want to thank you for joining us here at Civic Media, WRGN Radio, 14th at 9.9 FM and

received a 98.1 FM in Kedosha, cloudy, slight chance of snow today with a high due to 37

degrees.

Right now it's cloudy in 32.

We're going to talk to Tony Gassano on the other side of the news here at WRGN Radio.

I'm Don Rosen.
