How is this home? I was living at home, and then the next day I got married, and then
I moved in with my wife. It was the first time sharing a house with a woman. And here's
the thing, if you have no experience, day one is a crucial day. You need help. Someone
has to shaperone you, because you're going to make choices that don't seem important.
There's little ones like, like, what side of the bed do you want? Yeah, oh, I thought
that was trivial. That's your side for life right there. Oh, I got true. I blew the
call. Oh, I didn't look. I didn't look at the TV angle. I'm in hell. I got to watch TV
with a big toe in the middle of the street. It's horrible. When I watch the weather, I just
get from Wednesday over.
One day is night. I shouldn't know better. Somebody great songs. Lennon McCartney wrote
for that movie soundtrack. I mean, when you look at every song from a hard day's night,
everyone was a hit.
Fred Hoffman from Marcus theaters is here. I don't know how old you are, Brett. But I remember
when we went to go see a hard day's night at the Massa Peak with Drive in Theater, it
was a rare sight to see a line going down sunrise highway. But that's what it was because
everybody wanted to go see a hard days night. And it was playing at the driving. I don't
think it was playing at a movie theater in the area, just the driving. And I still remember
what the second feature was, six black horses with Audi Murphy. What a memory. Yeah, but
I remember that the hard days night at the driving theater. Everyone was so excited.
The driving was sold out. And they had they had a you had to wait because the wind of
driving's did it back then. I don't know, well, very few today, but they showed the
first picture, the second picture, and then the first picture again. So when people were
clearing out for Audi Murphy's Western, they were loading more people into watch a hard
days night at like one o'clock in the morning. And I forget you had to pictures didn't start
to like 930 quarter to 10 when I got dark at the driving. So you were watching movies
all night. I'm Marcus used to have a drive in the starlight driving and monomity falls
we used to go to remember the starlight. Yeah, driving's were what a fun experience.
There are still some out there for people to go for nostalgia purposes during the summer.
And you bring up a good point. It's funny. I hear a lot of people in business talking
about showing driving movies and when the credits for the last movie was rolling, the
sun was coming up. That's how late they used to run those movies back to back.
We might took my daughter ones to an all nighter at the drive. And she was little. My wife
didn't want to go at the time. At first wife. She just didn't want to carry movies.
And they showed I think three or four movies. And you couldn't see the last movie because
the sun was coming up shining on the screen. And so we had to leave because it was getting
too bright during the summer. The sun starts coming up at 5 a.m. So it was a fun night
though in the car with all the food and all that kind of stuff. And she was in her pajamas
watching the movies and that was a fun time. Can't go to the movies in your pajamas
anymore? Well, you know what to tell you the truth is our dream wonders. A lot of people
do come out and come to the clothing. We accept sweats. We accept sweatsuits and I'll
tell you a lot of people bring their own blankets. Yes. Have a great time lounging back
and watching movies. Yes. Well, Brett is here because we're going to talk about some
of the current movies out there. The year and review some of the biggest hits and what's
coming on 2024 in the Golden Globes. Let's start with some movies at a currently
theaters now. Yeah, today right now is a tremendous time to be at the movies. There's
plenty of for everyone. Let's recap what we have. There's no new movies being released
this weekend. But there is plenty for everyone so much that I doubt everyone will be able
to get around to all these pictures. And that's why all these movies will continue to do
well in January. Looking at two great family titles right now, you've got Wonka starring
Timothy Shalamet. That movie is likely to be the number one movie of this weekend. It's
coming back to the top after Aquaman took the crown last weekend. Tremendous film is showing
really Wonka before the chocolate factory. And this is one that's a must see for everyone.
And then you have the Lumination, which they're animated. Luminations animated movie migration.
A nice delightful film about a family of ducks taking a vacation, taking a migration
together. And I think young and old will enjoy this one as well. And that's migration. Great
musical is out. The color purple. It did. It's driving tremendous crowds, especially during
this Christmas. How a flash holiday season. Delightful film. Of course, everyone loves the original
color purple. The musical and the book. This is another great movie. The color purple. That's
out. If action is your thing, we have Aquaman in the lost kingdom. Jason Momoa stars again
in this action movie. You'll get what you expect with that with Aquaman and with this DC
comic. Don't worry. There's plenty of action to keep the viewers and keep everyone happy
during the film. From a romantic comedy standpoint, there's anyone but you. And this is a film
about two people who pretended they're a couple for a destination wedding. And you can imagine
what they or may not go on in that romantic comedy and anyone but you. Now, really interesting
right now is that we have three biographical movies. Three biographical dramas that are out
right now and all of them are tremendous. The first is The Boys in the Boat. This is
directed by George Clooney. It's a story of the Washington low-wing team from the 1930s
that gets a spot in the Olympics and goes over and beats the Nazis. It's based on a popular
book that's The Boys in the Boat. People are loving that one. You have the movie Ferrari
where Adam Driver plays in. So Ferrari, Penelope, Cruz plays his wife. This is getting critical
claim as well. So Ferrari's another tremendous one. And then another movie that is getting
great accolades and looking at being looked at for wards is Iron Claw. This is the tragic story
of the Von Erich wrestling family from the 1980s. And it is a drama. Do not go in this one.
Not expecting this one to be a drama, but some great performances in this movie, including
one from Zac Efron, who's one of the many Arab brothers in this movie. And lastly, if you're
looking for wards buzz, there is a movie that's climbing and that's getting the spotlight in terms
of wards. And that's the movie called Poor Things. The spotlight's an Emma Stone for her performance
in this one. She plays a woman that's brought back to life by a scientist in the Victorian area.
And she's kind of exploring life now, now that she's alive. But Emma Stone puts everything out
there in this movie. She's getting some great accolades for her performance performance. She's
nominated for Golden Globe. So Poor Things is another one to check out. So if you look at all
those movies and other movies that are still out there, there is plenty to go see at the theater.
The movies are open every single day of the year. So another great time to plan out what do you do
in New Year's Eve? What do you do in New Year's Day? The theaters are open. They're a place for you,
your family, loved ones, your friends. This is a great time to go to the movies and enjoy something
together, enjoy experience together. Let's talk about the past year. The number one and number
two pictures. If you asked me to invest in them back before they were made, I would never have done
it. But it's that we wasting your money investing in these movies. They were the number one and
number two pictures of 2023. And let's talk about them now. Sure. Well, we'll start. Let's start
by number two. And we can keep talking about the movies at number two as a picture that I don't
think came as a surprise from anyone that grew up with video games and grew up with Nintendo.
And that was the Super Mario Brothers movie. And Universal really did this IP justice because they
came out and really worked with Lumination to make the Super Mario Brothers movie, a tremendous
movie for people my age and pretty much anyone. They looked back and they saw this movie as
a nostalgia movie. And for younger individuals, they saw this as this was their present day
movie characters coming to life. And the Super Mario Brothers movie went on to grow as almost
$575 million domestically at number two. And let me tell you, when this movie was riding high
in the spring, I don't think anyone thought it could be beats because when you look at $575 million,
that is a tremendous accomplishment. Now, all things changed because when you look at what
happened then, the number one movie was a bit of a surprise and I'll tell you this much. It
wasn't a surprise that this number one movie was a hit. Everyone thought it was going to be a
hit. But the degree, the degree of which it became just a cultural phenomenon at the hit of the
year was phenomenal. It took the world by storm. It was aided by another movie and another
phenomenon, although that other movie was to talk about, I think, was added a little bit more by
this one. And that was Greta Gerrigg's directed with Margot Robbie starring Barbie because Barbie
brought in $636 million. And when you look at that, obviously, that is a great take from a box
off a standpoint. I think people loved this movie when they went out to go see it. I think
females loved it, males loved it. I think a lot of people just enjoyed this movie and I can tell
you I have a lot of repeat performances. And the theaters were definitely decked out in pink
and I'll tell you, there were people wearing pink for this movie for months coming in and seeing
this and having a great time. So that was Barbie. It did tremendously well. And Don, you're saying
you didn't see either of these two coming. If you had been asked last year at this time to look at
these movies and say what's going to be even at the top five. I would never have fun. Yeah,
that's really interesting. Your Barbie took off. And of course, the story of Barbie is really this
phenomenon of the number five movie, which is Oppenheimer, which brought in $326 million,
which is Chris Nolan's directed, R&D movie about Oppenheimer and the, you know, how basically
the atomic bomb was built and how that went about. $326 million or Oppenheimer, when you look at
an R&D movie that's around the three hour length, you don't expect it to actually do $326 million.
This is a phenomenal picture directed by Christopher Nolan. And it was aided by this phenomenon
that both the number one and number five movies, Barbie and Abbaheimer were being released on the
same weekend. And this brought the barbenheimer craze. And never in my life that I think you'd
have a scenario where people would come to the movies on premiere nights and they would go watch
Barbie and then they would change clothes and go watch Appenheimer. You know, you'd spend over
five hours in a movie theater watching these two movies. They're both great movies. But you never
saw those coming together. And I suppose someone had to be the first to try peanut butter and jelly.
But they really, they really jelled their different things coming together. But man, did this work
as a combination? And I think that was phenomenal with what we experienced in late July of this year.
I got to tell you, I was disappointed in Oppenheimer. I was so looking forward to it from the first
previews I saw months and months before. I think it was just a point. First of all, they wouldn't stop
with the music and give us some quiet time in the film when they're talking. It was music behind
everything was very loud. And I wanted the film to concentrate more not on the person but on the
whole atomic bomb thing. And they did concentrate on it, but not enough. And the music was way too loud.
I just thought that you could do with a little less music. Not every scene's got to have dramatic
music in it. I was just disappointed in it. It wasn't a bad movie. Just wasn't as good as I

going to talk about 2024's movies. Oh, and also the Golden Globes. That's straight ahead. 719

Good buddy Brett Hoffman of Marcus theaters is here. We're talking about movies. The past, the
present, the future and we're still going over some of the biggest hits of 2023 and we left
off at Oppenheimer's so let's continue on from there Brett. Yeah that's right there were a lot
of movies. If we look at the top 20 and back up I think everyone will recognize a lot of these
and we can stop along the way and number 20 last year and this was from this movie was released
actually in December so it made more money during December but also made a lot of money in 2023.
Post and Boost the last which was number 20 and number 19 we had the video game horror movie
Five Nights at Freddy's that was a phenomenon in this October that kind of took movie theaters
by storm and number 18 was the latest movie in the Fast and Furious saga or that they just call
the Fast Saga which is Fast X which is the 10th movie and let me tell you down when I saw the first
Fast and Furious over 20 years ago I never thought there'd be 10 of these things but they just keep
going and Vin Diesel just keeps coming back and they keep producing action movies. And number 17
it was $150 million so far this year was the Hunger Games, the Bell and the Songbirds and Snakes.
Everyone loved that first Hunger Games series and Lionsgate has done a great job re-releasing
or bringing back the Hunger Games and this one takes place 60 years before those original Hunger Games
and number 16 was the animated movie Elemental and number 15 bringing an 156 million dollars
was Creed 3 a tremendous movie and I think they've done a great job with this franchise
transitioning from Rocky to Creed. Creed 3 was was basically one that was really looked at because
this was Michael B. Jordan's directorial debut the huge fantastic job in this one and number 14
of $157 million was Transformers Rise the Peace. And number 13 was Mission Impossible Dead
Reckoning Part 1. This made $172 million and I want to spotlight this one because I think a lot
of people did not go out and see Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 partly because it was
released just about 10 days or 11 days before Barbie and Appenheimer came out. So if you miss time
crews in Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 go and watch this one it has some of the most
spectacular Mission Impossible stunts of any of these films and that's saying a lot so go check
that one out if you missed it. And number 12 with $174 million was Indiana Jones and Dial of Destiny
and number 11 we had a phenomenon you talked about a hard days night earlier in the broadcast on
and number 11 there was a surprise movie put out by the one and only Taylor Swift it was Taylor
Swift the eras tour and this movie is the number one the concert movie of all time at the box
office it brought in $179 million. That was amazing and now she I think she released a
cut with more to it didn't she release that or she's going to? There are certain things that are
out there with a few with a little more footage but let me tell you Taylor Swift the eras to
work phenomenal to see on the fake screen and almost $180 million domestically and that was
obviously a surprise because no one knew that movie was coming out and I'll tell you another
movie that not a lot of people knew it was coming out and no one expected this movie to come at
at number 10 a movie that beat out movies like Mission Impossible and Indiana Jones the Dial of Destiny
was from Angel Studios the sound of freedom this was a phenomenon being released until I
fought this year it made $184 million and of course with a story about a former agent that
goes and tries to stop child trafficking and try to rescue people from that situation the sound
of freedom was certainly a phenomenon brought in $184 million for Angel Studios and I think we'll
talk about that one for a long time because every once in a while you have a movie that just comes
out of nowhere and the sound of freedom was that movie this year. Yeah Angel Studios coming
out with a lot of movies lately and there's a small little independent religious faith-based
company but they're coming out with a lot of movies lately I didn't like the science fiction
one they just came out with that didn't that didn't play with me very well but the one you just
mentioned did a very excellent, excellent movie and of course they have the chosen series which
they brought out the theaters as well as you know streaming but they put it in theaters here's
something else I noticed a lot of times these directors are coming out before the movie to
explain it why they're in theaters. Martin Scorsese did it with the killers of the flower moon
and the guy who directed the chosen series and all those Angel Studios movies he comes out before
the movie starts on the screen to explain why you're watching it in the theater which I think it's
pretty neat yeah you like that. Yeah I think most of these directors directed movie with the
intention that's going to be seen with the best sound on the desk screen and love the fact that
they're doing love the fact that they're talking about that you know everyone's got a television
in their home and watching watching at home can be relaxing but there's just something about
watching that on a big screen with big sound and just having a having a popcorn and a refreshment
with people you love and just watching the movie together. Oh you have to go with people you love
all right now I'm all right Brett's top three picked to collect the ones that didn't quite make
the top 20 but they were things you should see what are they okay things you should see were air
this one came in at number 46 it only made 52 million dollars Ben Affleck directs this one it
started Ben Affleck Matt Damon and Jason Bateman of course this is a story of how Nike
a win-out and pursued the greatest athlete in history of basketball Michael Jordan and got him so
check out air it's a bio documentary and it is phenomenal. Another movie that's got critical
claim and audience acclaim that a lot of people may have missed is a movie called Bissing and it's a
movie about a young woman who after a mother goes missing she tries to find her and uses all the
tools that are available to her online which is really interesting because the unique thing about
this film is it's set entirely on screen so you watch the whole movie through the young woman's
laptop her computer cell phone smartwatch security camera I know I saw it it was good very good movie
excellent movie I think people miss that but it was really neat to watch this unfold in a different
way so that movie is missing and then the other movie which is another bio doc which I'll talk
about which I think most people did not see because it only made about 1.5 million dollars to box
office there's a little bit called Blackberry and it's from IFC films and definitely wasn't on
everyone's radar but I'll tell you for those who make through it you'll be mesmerized by the story
of Blackberry it's watching the rise and fall of that smartphone and how high it was riding until
something happened and that's when Steve Jobs of course released the iPhone with Apple and that
brought everything to a crashing halt but a very underrated movie is Blackberry it has some great
moments and great comedy as well just like air so those are three films that you should check out
that's I forgot about missing if they're all about that movie did they have a sequel to that or some
I don't know why I'm thinking that but yeah the entire movie was shown on a computer screen
and you don't it you don't realize it but it's so it's so engrossing you don't care
but yeah that was I forgot about that movie thanks are you right that didn't show up in the top
but 20 but it should it was very good I don't think a lot of people got to hold that film yeah
it was very similar to the movie searching searching yes very similar to that one as well
and not a great movie so searching and missing should be at everyone's list yes searching I
knew there were two of them yeah I remember President Obama had a Blackberry was I was talking about
his Blackberry yeah those kind of went out of boy you don't see those anymore either they went
by the way of VHS and beta yeah it came to a quick call with that release of that iPhone but the
movies tremendous and you watched it how they would do what they did it it's a small you know ragged
a group of people up in Canada that bring out this Blackberry and a great movie to watch I'll
pay that much cloudy today with a high-near 41 clear tonight those 27 sunny tomorrow with a
high-near 40 New Year's Day sunny with a high-near 34 degrees right now it's windy and 38 degrees 729

golden globe nominations are looking like and also what's ahead for 2024 are the big screen

Brad Hoffman is here we're talking about the movies of 2023 let's talk about the golden globe
awards right now this is their really the first major award show of the season this is the Hollywood
foreign press and really what do they carry any weight at all I don't know what you know well it's
the first awards kind of award season the first major awards and I'll tell you it is kind of a
precursor and a tool to use in trying to predict the asters when you combine that with these
green actors guild awards the director's guild of America awards and and some other awards like
to produce his guild of America awards as well so I found it to be very insightful but I'll tell
you I've also found the golden globes to be very hard to predict because sometimes the erratic
nature of the foreign press and how they both throws you off yeah but it's still a great show to
watch and of course they cover movies and television but still a fun show to watch the poster
always great and yeah still a bunch of all the stars are dinner tables they don't sit in an
audience like you know they're they're like it's like a dinner and then they get called up on
stage let's talk about the now they have best motion picture two different categories for that
drama and then they want for comedy and musical let's talk about drama best motion picture and
the nominees are nominees are Oppenheimer killers in the flower ruin my stroke past lives from
a 24 zone of interest also from a 24 and an enemy of the fall from me and did you have a
pick in this one down well I like killers of the flower moon I thought it was an excellent excellent
movie true story murder mystery and I thought that the the actoring acting by Lily Gladstone
who sees up for nomination and Robert De Niro and we noted the capri was fantastic so I would
take killers of the flower moon but to be honest I never heard of zone of interest and
enemy of a fall past lives I mean that's not just heard about that for the first time my stroke
with Bradley Cooper playing Linda Bernstein I didn't see that but if I had to pick one only
based in what I've seen this killers of the flower moon is very good how about you well that would
have been my second choice because of our moon the first one I think is going to win which I know
you didn't care for as much as I did but I think Oppenheimer gets this one and Chris Nolan
directed a great picture but kill as a flower moon or Oppenheimer both great pictures both long
pictures but I'm giving the knowledge to Oppenheimer versus kill as a flower moon I could see either
of those two in this one okay best picture musical or comedy the nominees are we've got Barbie
from Warner Brothers poor things from search like pictures American fiction from MGM the hold
over from focus features may December from Netflix an heir from Amazon slash MGM studios I don't
see any of them okay well they're all great pictures in this one I'll tell everyone that if
anyone wins it's very deserving I think for this one well frankly air was my favorite movie
of the year I think this one's going to go to the movie that surprised everyone really okay that was
at the top of most people's list so I think this was going to go to Barbie because everyone thought
it was going to be big I think everyone was surprised by how big it was it was part of that
barbenheimer phenomenon yeah and I think you're going to have a barbenheimer sweep here in best
pictures you're ever going to give it to Oppenheimer they're going to give it to Barbie and I think
what could be more fitting than barben that a barbenheimer basically best picture awards
ceremony here so that's what I think I think Barbie's going to win this one let's go to best
performance by an actor in a motion picture drama we've got Bradley Cooper from Istro Silly and
Murphy that's how you say his name Silly and it's Killian Murphy from Oppenheimer laid out at the
Caprio Killers of the Flower Moon Coleman Domingo for Rustin never heard of it Andrew Scott for all
of a stranger's never heard of it and Barry Cohnhant Cogan I think I pronounce it for Salzburg never
heard of that either um Killian Murphy did great in Oppenheimer leading out at the Caprio was really
good in Killers of the Flower Moon he's good in everything he does so it's hard for me to say I'm
going to pick the Caprio only because I think he's such a great actor very good and I had these
two marks there I'm going to go again she again I'm going to give it to Silly and Murphy for
Oppenheimer so that's that's what I'm going to go with but I saw the Caprio I mean the
Caprio's got a shot at this one you know early on before my show was released Bradley Cooper is
getting a lot of buzz uh another tremendous portrayal there of Leonard Bernstein but I just
think when you look at the Caprio's performances um man did they shine and they were on the screen
for hopefully a lot of time it had to shine as well so I'd give it to you two of those all right best
performance by an actress in a motion picture drama Lily Gladstone for Killers of the Flower Moon
Carrie Mulligan for Maestro Sandra Hulliuller Hulliuller Hulliuller for anatomy of a fall and
that bending for Niaad right to leave for past lives and uh Kaylee Spaney is that he's saying
in for Priscilla that she was terrible in that film um Lily Gladstone was great in Killers of
the Flower Moon never heard of her before what a performance though what do you pick yeah I have
Lily as well what a performance here what a great picture I think you know with through these I
had Killers of the Flower Moon and number two for a lot of the ones that we just went through and
this one's gonna be number one Lily Gladstone and this one uh there's a talk about Carrie Mulligan
for her role as Leonard Bernstein's life in Maestro but Lily Gladstone I'm giving this one Killers
of the Flower Moon and hopefully we see more of her because you're right we we hadn't heard of her
previously a lot of people had not and uh hopefully this gives us a little more Lily Gladstone
and a few other pictures coming up my father stood on Leonard Bernstein's toilet bowl while talking
to him that's a whole story unto itself uh I'll tell you that story sometime uh best performance by
an actress in a motion picture musical of comedy Fantasia Barino it's hard to believe you
come from American Idol or something or one of those shows the color purple Jennifer Lawrence
for no hard feelings never heard of that movie Natalie Portman may December never heard of that
either uh Alma Poitsey for Fallen Leaves Margot Robbie for Barbie Emma Stone for poor things and
you pick well this is a close number two like you said Emma Stone is getting all the buzz right now
for poor all in poor things she is being talked about she is writing momentum here now
Margot Robbie for Barbie though I think had the initial edge so let me tell you it's gonna be
Margot Robbie every stone um I'm giving this slight edge to Margot Robbie for Barbie just because
I think she's the popular choice but watch Emma Stone because this poor things is getting momentum
right now and there's still a little bit of time here um before the award show goes out next week
so Emma Stone uh watch for her but Margot Robbie and Barbie is a good choice as well.
Best performance by an actor in a motion picture musical of comedy Nicholas Cage for Dream
scenario Timothy Shalamey for Waka Matt Damon for Air Paul G. Amadev great actor for the holdovers
Joaquin Phoenix for Bowie's Afraid and Jeffrey Wright for American fiction and the winner goes to
yeah I'm going with Paul Johnny for the holdovers for this one uh great film he is uh he's a
teacher in a boarding school that designed to basically take care of the holdovers that are left
there for the break for the winter break they have to stay back great film about how he learns
about himself and how the individuals that stay back including one particular student finds out
things about himself uh but also look for Jeffrey Wright in American fiction uh this is a movie that's
getting into wider relief it's getting great critical reviews American fiction with Jeffrey Wright
could surprise people here and he could take uh he could take the podium but Paul G. Amadev's
my choice for the holdovers. Good I had one more category best animated feature film The Boy in the
Heron which just came out elemental spider-man across the spider-burst the Super Mario Brothers movie
Su-Zoom I think that's ASA and Wish and the golden globe goes to
yeah I think it's going to go to spider-burst across the spider-burst the movie is going to
pat five movies as well as the Super Mario Brothers movie I just think we know it could spider-man
across the spider-burst that had a visual look to it it was a great film to watch on screen uh we
can't wait for the next one which is coming out and the next one will be coming out uh well we
coming out later on uh but there's another movie that's going to be coming out beyond the spider-burst
so this is a continuation story there uh but some great movies there including the anime film The
Boy in the Heron which is just another tremendous movie if you haven't seen an anime film so lots
of great animation out there but I'll give it to across the spider-burst. All right what's coming
on 2024 why don't we go over some of the most popular titles that people looking forward to?
Yeah there is a ton of movies coming out in 2024 and uh one of the big ones coming up that I
think should be on everyone's radar definitely on cinephiles is Dune 2 it comes out on March
1st if you have missed the first Dune part one in 2021 go back and look at it it's a fantastic
story of great visuals the original was nominated for best picture and I would expect the same
for this story as well of course Toothie Chalamet is back in this movie he just played Wonka
so everyone should be familiar with him but when you look at all the other stars in this movie you
got Zendaya Rebecca Ferguson Austin Butler Harvey or Bardem Josh Brolin there are just so many
people in this movie Warner Brothers is going to go all out and this will be a visual spectacular
on the big screen and that is Dune 2 that's coming out on March 1st and we have another Ghostbusters
movie they're not giving up on that franchise huh? Now then I think your Ghostbusters fan you
really rooting for this one because afterlife allowed us to see some new characters and now we have
that new cast along with some of the original Ghostbusters cast at least coming back in some
way for this film and they figure they find an ancient artifact which unleashes an evil force
that could bring up a second ice age we're looking forward to this one and Paul Rudd I thought
did a tremendous job in the first in Ghostbusters afterlife and I hope that we'll see a lot more
Paul Rudd and a lot of the other characters kind of grow into these roles and hopefully produce
a few more Ghostbusters down the road okay what else do we have coming out here a lot of sequels
yeah there are one movie that's not a sequel imaginary friend it's coming out on May 17th
this is directed and written by John Krizynski excuse me and it's a young girl who has this
difficult experience where she begins to see everyone's imaginary friends they've left behind
and it also stars Ryan Reynolds go check out the trailer in this one it looks spectacular
and should be a wonderful fun family picture in May that's if stands for a imaginary friend
and let me tell you John Krizynski is a great mind you won't direct at this one and I think
this will be tremendous he played Jim Halpern on the office for nine seasons whoever thunked it
maybe would be involved in it all right another plan of the apes movie coming out that's right
kingdom of the plan of the apes he's back this one's going to be released in Memorial Day weekend
it set generations after the previous plan of the apes movies this is following seasons rain
and apes are now dominant species and they are living harmoniously with humans but humans have
been reduced to kind of living in the shadows they're not the dominant species anymore
war for the planet apes are released in two seven two thousand seventeen it was spectacular
but now you have kingdom of the planet apes in 2024 and look for Disney to raise the bar
in this next installment coming mad max is back again oh it is back and mad max three
role was a spectacular movie directed by George Miller in 2015 so much so that they look the character
in that movie played by Charlie Starrone which was Furio Sen said we really need to focus on this
character so now we have Furio Sen a mad maxada also slated to release him more the weekend
on your tailored joy is going to bring this character to life and man i can't wait to see how
spectacular this movie is visually on screen because George Miller is on one of a kind director
and i need tailored joy should be able to bring that furio to character to life in this
prequel to mad max ferry road we only got a minute left oh and hit on beetle juice two in wicked
part one very good detail just two this is back to burden is directly in the last one is in 1988
so at the thirty five year gap in between we'll see what tim burn and michael keep in half for
us and be able just two but that's a big wild card and a wicked part one uh this is the first in
the series uh in the in the two parts series the book and the Broadway musical were such smash hits
and i think universal is really going to have a gem here this is going to be released during
Thanksgiving and should be the talk of that holiday weekend with wicked so they're going to make
us wait a year to see the second half of the movie well we'll see how long it takes but the
first one is going to be released at this Thanksgiving should be a visual spectacular when you look at
it and i know this is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year so we got to wait till
Thanksgiving to see it but the first wicked is coming out at the end of this year what about
mean girls is there a musical mean girls coming out i know it's a Broadway musical mean girls are
they going to put out the um a movie musical based on mean girls that i read most certainly that's
coming out under uh on January 12th coming right up in a couple weeks you know really so that's
coming out right away everyone loves that movie go watch this one it's another mean girls on screen
i think everyone's looking forward to that one my good buddy we got everything in terrific

all right my clements is here he's up in green bag traveling uh talking about packers but before
that we're going to talk about herb coal who although a US senator had so much to do with sports
in milwaki and was constant you wouldn't think of this this shy guy who doesn't look like an
athlete but he has more to do with sports than most people think would you say
or absolutely um and you know he kind of the bucks might nice to be mil milwaki had he not stepped
up the borrowers might not be here either yeah yeah yeah you know he um i i was just talking to
Dennis Krause from spectrum one news long time sports journalist who could get but see the
could you get raven yant who these guys to sit down in the studio and do one-on-one you know
Bob Costa style and i said does anybody ever got an herb coal he goes no no you know i mean he ran
for office and was a senator for a couple of decades and he did press conferences but he never
really you know taught he leaves without really laying down much of a story he did talk to the
milwaki journal once about you know the sale of the bucks and and what went into when he originally
got it but here's a guy who grows up in the Sherman Park area and you know one of his best friends
was but but see like a school kid right yeah and and that is interesting i wouldn't what a great
interview to be to have both those guys sit down and talk about those days and he goes to Harvard
and he starts the grocery stores in jane jeffrey remember hers you know as a woman uh gently talk
gently teen yeah yeah i worked with her uh as they're hurt one of her producers and she said in
high school she worked at a coles grocery store like a lot of people did back in the day and she'd
be there as a you know high school kid stuck in the produce section and the kid uh and would
walk curb coal the owner and say hi jane how are you he don't word name he knows how long she'd been
there how's everything is everything working okay for you is the supervisor getting what you
need what are you well gee you know mr. colike i could use a new card a bigger card would help
you make it more things and the next day there'd be that card he was really employee friendly and
that's why he was so successful at business and then as a senator and the here's the here's the
sort of the downside Larry Harris uh people that worked for him loved him uh they were grateful for him
and for the work environment but Larry Harris was the son of del Harris a coach he got his first
job from from the senator uh working in the video room works his way up into scouts and then
becomes a general manager he's there for five years as GM and he said you know the frustrating
thing is he said there was like a thirty six hour rule he said i had a i would have a big trade
lined up that we could get just the piece that we needed it and he said i call him and i hey
senator we could get this done if if we trade away these two guys in this pick we could bring
this guy and just the kind of shooter we need wow that's exciting really okay all right yeah go let's
let's move forward with that you get all the paperwork done you get to deal all arranged and her
would go down to the other end of the business end of the office and he talked to Steinwell and
those guys they go i don't know senator you know yeah that's a lot of money and what if this guy
does this and they would talk about it and he he would call back Larry say you know i thought
about this last night and i'm not for sure and it would kill deals and it was very frustrating but
anyway a great guy who yeah so many things to support the Milwaukee bucks and and other
and the broder's yeah he brought them from Seattle with the Seattle pilots and he was instrumental
like did that primarily but he was instrumental in helping him bring him bring them all
one of the yeah what are the guys there any gave it that 69 or 70 yeah any gave a ton of money
to build five sir five sir forum too i mean he just a hundred million a hundred million that's
something you and i can normally write a check for but we don't but i have to go to the bank
to check my i would have to move things around and i really quickly when i work for a Milwaukee
radio station we were broadcasting on the tall ships in the walk he was the Miller tall ships
or something in a maritime deal a maritime days yes and we were broadcasting from the the bounty
which one of the one of the tall ships and we were doing it for reading his front of metal and
Senator Cole stopped by with it with a friend of his and we were uh you know doing the broadcast
with him told him all about what we were doing there and then he stepped away but he didn't leave
and then his friend came by his handler whoever it was his associate and handed me a check for
five hundred dollars at the hurt the senator just wrote he said do not mention it on the air though
just take the check yeah and so we read all you left or or you know i have a three down town
and it's about seven a.m. Sunday morning in a coffee shop on the first floor of the fister
and there came in the senator and he got out the menu and ordered his food and i sit in the way
so it's senator Cole yeah oh yeah he comes here every Sunday morning by himself
yeah i know great guy hey let's talk real quickly here packers and Vikings play on WRJN Sunday
afternoon beginning at five p.m. this kind of a do or die right yeah pregame at five p.m.
the kickoff at seven twenty uh both these teams are seven or eight so they they still got a chance
of getting in as a wild card team if they can probably win out their next two games um the Vikings
you know the the last time they played the packers they were up you know twenty four to ten or so
and then Kirk cousins went down at Lambo Field with the torn Achilles probably the biggest story
in the nsc north division this year even after Aaron Rogers left for the jets because the Vikings
would have been a much different team and so they've gone through a couple of quarterbacks uh Nick
Mullins through like three or four picks in his his last game so now they're going back to this
rookie that they have uh jaren hall a mobile quarterback and so let's just hope that the packers
defense which has seemed to struggle against some of these new quarterbacks don't make
have he ends up having a career day against them and we got a new we got a new year's bowl game
with the badgers and LSU that's at 11 a.m. on monday yeah they're they're taking on number 13th
ranked LSU a Tanner motor guy though should be able to start for the badgers in that one
and we have a pregame starting at nine a.m. yeah yeah they have a lot of that stuff what's the name
of the bowl again i can never pronounce it rely a quest or a lie you know i looked into it they're
like a they're like a network computer network security company for your for your corporation
they like made you know thirty five million dollars their first year uh doing this so now they're
sponsoring a bowl game down there in Tampa used to be the out the outback bowl that was easy to
remember and the badgers played in the outback bowl before i remember down in Tampa to they
have the the blockbuster bowl at one time there's only there's only that that ship failed a while
it wrote it yeah and there's only one bowl game which will not put the sponsors name first
and that is the rose bowl presented by AT&T whoever then and then that's the way it should be
because last night i was at a coffee shop and watching the pop tart bowl okay and then people
eating pop tart after they won the game like this is this is too much hey my clement happy new year
