The Don Rosen Show · Mon Dec 18, 2023

It is going to be a windy one today.

Partly cloudy, windy 32 are high this afternoon.

The wind out of the northwest,

gusting to between 30 and 40 here throughout the day today,

although it will back off a little bit by later this afternoon.

Tonight clear and not as windy 18 tomorrow.

Partly cloudy, 35.

I'm meteorologist Sean Cable outside now.

It's 33 the civic media network of radio stations across Wisconsin.

It's your hometown radio refreshed news.

Talk and sports.

Talk about your triple play.

Get this guy a jockstrap in a cookie.

1,400 a.m. at 99.9 and 98.1 FM WRJN.

Yeah, I was standing behind you in line at the grocery store.

Yeah, I was wearing a brown shirt, but you were kind of ignoring me.

But you gave me your phone number?

Well, you didn't give it to me specifically, but I was there to catch it.

Thought I'd give you a call and see what's up.

So what's up?

I'd come by your house.

I don't know your address, though.

I can find it on the internet doing a $40 reverse look up.

But I thought you might save the money.

I'll come by and bring you some flowers.

You know, I don't know what kind of flowers you like.

There's so much about you, I don't know.

But I do know your phone number.

My phone number, no, I got that block caller ID.

Yeah, you can hop you two carefully stays.

A lot of nut shops out there, a lot of whack jobs.

Bring a torch, your ladies, a bell, a bring a torch, comes with me alone.

Bring a torch, your matters, a bell, a bring a torch, comes with me alone.

Christ is called to the folk of the village, Jesus is sleeping in his cradle.

Oh, beautiful is the mother, oh, beautiful is her son.

Here's your son.

Here's your son.

Bring a torch, your matters, a bell, a bring a torch, comes with me alone.

Bring a torch, your matters, a bell, a bring a torch, comes with me alone.

So that's all that you get around you.

Let us do it.

No, I should wake in Jesus' harsh, harsh.

See no festies, no festies, no festies, no festies.

And good morning, I'm Don Rosen.

Thank you for joining me here at 609 on a Monday morning Christmas, coming up one week from today.

And I am so happy to say I felt so good on Friday when all the Christmas cards went out.

We had a big stack.

We mailed them all out.

So everyone should be getting their Christmas cards within a day or two.

I think that's, I felt so good after doing that.

Like you're putting it off, putting it off, and we brought up our stack, a nice Christmas cards, and we started filling them out.

And I think we got all the addresses right.

I bought enough stamps.

We had a nice Christmas return address label on all this, all this.

I felt so good about getting them out.

See how he smiles in dreams.

I got all the presents.

Everybody's got their presents.

I mailed out the presents.

It was supposed to be mailed out.

I did that on, I think I did that on Thursday or Friday.

And I bought everybody their presents.

I don't want them to mailed them too.

But I think I want to get one more.

One more.

But this is, this is amazing that I got this done.

I don't know what happened.

And once again, good morning.

It's 11 minutes after six o'clock, scattered snow flurries and showers this morning.

We're having them now.

I got out to my car this morning.

I said, what is this stuff all over the roof of my car?

What is it?

These white flakes.

What do they do in there?

Where they come from?

Yeah, a little bit of flurries.

No, I mean, you can hardly see them.

I should just kind of clear out and then just cloudy today with a high-tier 32-part cloudy tonight.

Lowes 20 sunny tomorrow, beautiful day with a high-tier 34.

Went away in a little mini road trip this weekend, mini road trip.

And two weeks ago, I wanted to check the weather because I didn't want to snow in the forecast

when I'm traveling.

And it said sunshine, not only where I am leaving from at my home and receiving, but also my

destination.

Then about a week later, it turned to cloudy here at home and cloudy at my destination.

Then it turned out to a slight chance of showers here at home and at my destination.

Well, I got a new fit.

Rain the entire way from home to my destination.

What happened to sunny two weeks ago?

Well, were they off on that one, huh?

Hey, coming up at seven seven oh six this morning.

We have got a special guest.

Angela's speed is going to be.

I love that name.

Angela's speed.

We've had some great names here.

We had Kelly Cruz, which either was a great name.

Angela's speed.

We had one other great name.

I got to look that up again.

We have some really good names here.

Anyway, she is from the Wisconsin Humane Society.

This is something that's close and personal to me.

That's why I want her on here.

Animals.

We bring them into this world.

They're here among us.

And they need us.

And you're talking to someone who's had a dog since about a year and a half old.

I've always had dogs in my life.

As a matter of fact, tomorrow is the end of one year anniversary,

where we had to put our beagle to sleep.

He was just the 13 years old.

And he just was having a lot of problems.

He was not happy.

He did not feel well.

And he gave you that look like it's time.

Please do something for me.

So we did.

That was a year ago on tomorrow.

It will be a year ago.

And that was our last dog.

For now anyway, we think that's our last dog.

But on our shelf right now, we have seven.

I think we have seven.

Seven dogs.

Six dogs on our shelf.

All their earns.

On our shelf at home.

Some of the dogs I had early on in life.

When I was a kid, we didn't get cremated.

You didn't do it back then.

You just, you know, whatever happened happened.

But I have pictures of every single one of them.

I have my cats, my dogs.

I think I even have a picture of my hamsters.

I've always had animals in our house.

It was like a menagerie in there.

Anyway, so Angela's speed is going to be here

from the Wisconsin Domain Society.

They're going to talk about the services they have there.

Adopt an animal.

Their current needs.

And other programs they have.

Kid programs, online retail stores.

And they are hiring.

Why I think my wife or somebody told me

want to be a foster parent?

You know why I can't be a father?

Oh, I know who told me that.

Hope safe house.

What to be a foster parent?

I can't be a foster parent because I wouldn't get the dog back.

I would keep it.

I'm not going to give a dog back.

I see all these these videos online.

Of animals that are abandoned.

And they are in bad shape.

I don't mean bad shape.

Physically, I mean mentally they're in bad shape.

They hide in corners.

They don't make eye contact.

They're frightened.

And over the course of these short videos,

they show you how they bring these dogs back

to their vibrant happy selves again.

These foster parents do it.

And they have ways to do it.

They just do very slow process.

You can't just walk in and pet a dog.

And hopefully they'll be happy again.

It doesn't work like that.

But it's it's so I was watching one last night.

I don't know why I watch these because I cry when I watch them.

They found this dog running loose on a rural road.

And it was kind of mad at looking.

He was a beagle.

And he took him back.

Game of bath.

Get him all cleaned up.

He had no collar.

He had no chip in him.

They suspect it was a dog had puppies.

And the owners kept the puppies and got rid of the dog.

That's what they suspect.

And he hid in the corner.

Look down.

Wouldn't make eye contact.

Wouldn't do anything.

And over the course of the video,

it took weeks, by the way.

They would leave little treats for him.

He would eat the treats.

They would put their hand out.

And if he wanted to look their hand,

he would do it.

If he didn't want to do it, he wouldn't do it.

Or she wouldn't do it.

And slowly but surely,

they were allowed to touch him or her.

And he took the,

he keeps saying, he,

she took the treats out of his hand, of the man's hand.

And then he was allowed to pet her.

And then he came up,

or she can't keep saying,

hey, I don't know why.

She came up and lick this face.

By the end of the video,

he was playing.

There I go again.

She was playing with all the other dogs in the backyard.

Wagoner tail jumping around.

Couldn't be happier.

Just was leaping on to the owner.

And running and rolling around with the other dogs.

That's what these lost appearance did.

They took that dog that had no self-esteem left,

just wanted to curl up and just end it all

and gave her another vibrant life.

So that's why I'm bringing the people on

for the Wisconsin Humane Society today.

That's why I had the hope,

safe house people on the air.

That's why I plan to get all these animal people on the air

because these animals depend on us.

They can't live out there in the wild.

They just don't.

We domesticated them.

So now we have to take care of them.

And I should probably put my money where my mouth is.

Again, we've had dogs all our lives.

You know, at one point we had four dogs.

I said to my wife,

what were we thinking for animals?

One was my parmarineian

and she got cancer and she passed away.

So we had three dogs for many years.

And when one passed away,

we would get another rescue dog in its place

and we kept doing that.

And so we had three dogs.

I said, how do we do this now?

When it came to feeding everybody's food

was at a different corner of the kitchen floor.

We couldn't put it together.

So we kept them all separated.

But when the backyard,

we put these little lights around their collars.

These little blinking lights.

We keep tracking them at night in the backyard to see

who's back there,

who's didn't come in yet.

But when one dog had to go out,

we had to shove them all out

because you can't be up all night long.

So one dog wanted to go out and get up.

Everybody's out.

They go in the backyard.

It was,

I can't imagine having three dogs,

but I did.

And then when the older dogs passed away

and the rescue dogs were old,

when they passed away,

we just had a beagle,

which we got as a puppy.

That's the only dog we actually purchased as a puppy.

And Chester was with us for 13 years.

And he got old

and things started to go wrong.

Like people, things go wrong.

And the vet said it's time.

You know, there's nothing really more we can do.

He's very unhappy.

He's very uncomfortable.

And he knows.

So we said, OK.

It was very hard.

You know, when you make those decisions,

I don't know how you make them on people

when it's time to pull the plug.

I never had to do that.

And I hope it never, ever comes up

where I've got to decide to pull the plug on a human being.

I mean, I can't even pull the plug on a dog.

Yet a human being.

But sometimes it's going to be done.

It's 618 at WRGN Radio Line.

Don Rosen, I want to thank you for joining us today.

We're going to have some happier stuff to talk about.

The break, I promise, all right?

Don't forget Angela Speed,

Wisconsin, your main society.

706 this morning.

We've got some standards.

No showers and flurries before 10 o'clock this morning.

Then just cloudy with a high near 32 degrees today right now.

It's got some flurries in the air.

Not a lot, just occasional ones.

33 degrees in WRGN,

a civic media station.

Hold town radio refreshed.

It just from the realms of glory.

We all fight over violence.

Jesus and creation story.

Now proclaim a science bird.

Come and worship.

Come and worship.

Worship Christ in the newborn King.

Shepherds in the field of fighting.

Watching over your flock's bright night.

God with man is now residing.

Yonder shines the infinite light.

Come and worship.

Come and worship.

Worship Christ in the newborn King.

I'm Don Rose at at 621 at WRGN,

soon to be 622.

Scattered snow, flurries and showers today right now.

A couple of flurries in the air.

It's 33 degrees at WRGN radio,

home town radio refreshed.

Well, I got a poll here.

They asked if Santa Claus had a nationality,

which country would he be from?

34% said Norwegian.

That was a top answer.

15% said Canadian.

6% said American.

6% said Russian.

31% said another country.

Like maybe a Finnish, Turkish,

Danish or Greek.

I always thought he was from Norway.

I always thought he was from the Norwegian countries.

That's I don't know why I thought that.

That's what I thought.

Anyway, it's been a tough year for some companies.

So people are venting about the cheap

and terrible holiday bonuses they received.

They include a sales team that got a book on how to sell better.

A $10 Starbucks car.

That's not bad.

It's not a great, you know, if you had a great year,

10 bucks.

Cheesecake factory workers were given a cheesecake from Costco,

a manager work party that caused money to attend,

a $30 door to ash voucher,

and a subscription to a jelly of the month club.

One person said,

we got told we were getting nothing.

Management's excuse was,

well, not everyone celebrates Christmas,

so it wouldn't be fair.

Yeah, that's a nice cop out.

We just had our Christmas party this weekend at Civic Media.

It was wonderful.

I mean, it was a getaway up at the Dells.

And we just had a great time.

The presentations were great.

The food was just great too.

And the people I got to meet the other people in the company.

There were so many people who worked for Civic Media.

I went there just knowing a few,

and then I left knowing a lot more.

And these people you talk to on the phone,

or you deal with on a,

what's the word I'm looking for?

Deal with on a text basis or email basis.

Well, I got to see their faces for once.

What was I disappointed?

No, no.

It was great to see them.

I loved it.

I got a great time there.

And Sage Wilde,

who's the head of our company,

he owns the company,

given nice presentation

of what we're looking for in 2024.

And we,

our program director of the company,

Katherine Lake,

she put on a presentation

of all the people that worked through the stations.

We got to see what every employee looked like in the company.

And it was really nice.

So we had a great Christmas party.

And we didn't have to pay for anything.

Thank you very much, Sage.

It was very nice.

And Katherine and Chris Morrow,

thank you all those people who,

who I know with the company.

Buzzfeed,

at a holiday themed,

never have I ever surveyed.

And found 26% of people say,

they have never peaked at a present.

I did when I was nine years old.

39% claim they have never regifted anything.

I never have.

48% have never forgotten to buy gifts for someone.

If I did,

I didn't do it intentionally.

68% say they have never gone caroling.

I did once.

I just can't,

I remember doing it,

but I don't remember where I did it.

I think I did it.

I think I did it on Long Island.

When I lived on Long Island in New York,

I'm pretty sure that's when I,

I thought I did it in brown deer,

but no, no, no,

I don't think so.

I think I did it,

I did it as part of the radio station I worked out,

I'm not sure.

It's a part of my life I put aside.

3% of people think retailers

should keep their holiday displays up year round.

21% think people should leave them up for four weeks.

That's plenty.

You know,

everybody says,

I wish it was Christmas year round.

If it was,

it wouldn't be special.

That's the problem.

I was at a restaurant once when I was overseas.

And I said,

we have to eat here every night.

And the person I was with said,

if you eat here every night,

it won't be special anymore.

Right now you had one special night at this restaurant.

And that's what you got to remember.

And that's so true.

So if they left up the Christmas

this place year round,

it wouldn't be special.

It's special because it's once a year.

And it's a short time.

Wanting to act you whether

it may not want to get your hopes up

for a white Christmas this year.

The probability of snow is low for most of the country

with the exception of the Rocky Mountains,

the Northwest part of the Midwest

and the northern New England area,

upstate New York and Vermont also might have some.

But I don't think we're having any here.

Let me quick check.

I didn't.

I got a quick app for that.

And according to this,

we have a chance of rain on Christmas.

60% chance of rain on Christmas day.

And there's no chance of snow

because the highs nearing 50.

So that's not going to happen.

77% of parents agree that the holiday season is just as magical now

as it was when there were kids.

46% of parents claim gift giving

is even more exciting now

than when there were kids.

See, I don't think so.

Because when you're a kid,

you couldn't buy the things you wanted.

You don't have any money.

I couldn't buy anything I wanted.

But now I can buy everything I want.

So when somebody says,

what do you want?

I don't want anything.

I bought everything I wanted.

I can afford everything I want.

When there's a kid,

I couldn't afford anything.

So I think it's more magical when you're a kid.

You open up those gifts

and you have no idea what's in there

except for the one time I peaked.

And that was my RIMPO CAREVO radio transmitter.

The thing that changed my life forever.

That's the one I actually took it out of the box.

That can be possible.

I didn't play with it.

I just took it out of the box

and kind of looked at it

and then put it back in.

And I don't think my parents knew.

I never asked them.

That's the only time I peaked.

But yeah, I think it's more magical

when you're a kid.

But I could be wrong.

Everyone's different.

In cat news, a study found cats

are cutthroat murderers

willing to kill and eat just about anything.

The study identified

two thousand eighty four different species.

They consume from birds and mice,

delicious and insects.

My word to his word to the wise.

If you have a cat,

maybe sleep with one eye open at night.

Or put one of those sign that alarm.

So when the cat comes into your room,

you know about it.

I had a cat.

I like cat was good.

I had a cat for about 14 years,

13, 14 years.

Never did anything wrong to me.

Then I know of guy in Scotland

had to sneak off.

What do you have this guy in Scotland

had a sneeze while driving

so he pinched his nose

and then sneezed anyway.

Tour of Holland is windpipe.

He didn't need surgery

to heal in a few weeks.

When I was driving this weekend,

I sneezed and I kept thinking,

I don't want to hold all of my windpipe.

That wouldn't be good.

But yeah, I guess those things happen.

That's horrible.

That's scary.

Anyway, he's okay.

That's the best part of that story.

The top reasons kids love the holidays

to gifts, visiting Santa,

decorating the house, the food,

and no school.

That was always one of my big

favorite things during the holiday season.

No school!

We're looking for a scattered snow showers

and flurries this morning.

Should end around 10 o'clock

and just cloudy with a hundred thirty-two.

Part of the cloudy tonight

lows 20 sunshine tomorrow

with a high-dirt 34 degrees.

Right now some flurries.

Not a lot.

Just a couple in the air.

Thirty-three degrees.

It's 6.29 and WRJN

hometown radio refreshed.

Listen, Las Vegas.

It was 114 degrees.

114 degrees.

You can actually hear the sun at that point.

It didn't feel safe.

I was like, are we supposed to be here?

114, but you're never in a front house.

You know, warm in here.

Yeah, I said thermostat to 114.

114, but you're never in a front house.

You know, warm in here.

You know, I said thermostat to 114.

That's how I like it.

I'm part lizard.

Thermostat doesn't even go up that high.

Meat thermometers do.

It was a hundred and fourteen degrees,

which was shocking.

But not as shocking as how casually

Las Vegas residents just went about their day in that heat.

It was like, you're like,

let's play frisbee.

Turn to off the dog.

I was like, get inside.

You're in this earth fire.

Get inside and beg for God's forgiveness.

You're obviously angered.

That's why Vegas is called Sincity.

It's the same temperature as hell.

Oh!

Oh!

Oh!

As we dream by the fire

To face unafraid

The plans that we made

Walking in a winter wonderland.

Old Tony Bennett.

You get a great feel in here.

Tony Bennett's in.

It's 636 WRGN Radio.

I'm Don Rosen at 1400 am 99.9 FM

and received 98.1 FM.

And Kenosha home town radio refresh.

Civic media.

Looks like scattered snow showers and flurries

should be ending around 10 o'clock this morning.

Then cloudy the rest of the day with a high-tier 32.

Part of cloudy lows around 20 tonight.

And sunshine and gorgeous with a high-tier 34 tomorrow.

Right now it's 33 degrees with a little bit of flurries in the area.

Windy.

But one or two flurries.

We'll roll again play the Eskimoid.

Just walking.

Talking.

And then having a busy winter wonderland.

I heard the album that he did with Lady Gaga.

It was just great.

Just great.

Those two complimented each other so well.

Don't even.

Okay.

You have a holiday party coming up this week.

We had ours last week and I mentioned.

Here's a list of the rudest things you can do at one.

Now I didn't see any rudeness going on hours.

I think people held their alcohol really well.

Bringing a plus one without mentioning it.

If you're dating someone and your host doesn't know it.

Run it by them first and said it just assuming you'll show up with a guest.

Hiding a mess.

Like if you spill red wine of the carpet or a couch.

Pass up.

Don't just put a pillow over it.

Skipping the dress code.

If the party specifically mentions ugly sweaters or holiday attire.

You should stick to that theme.

If nothing specified.

It's better just to be underdressed.

Excuse me overdressed a little bit than underdressed.

Showing up empty handed.

You should always bring a gift for the host.

Like a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates and getting to drunk.

Space out your drinks, have water in between and don't act like an idiot.

Okay.

Nobody likes a good drunk at a party.

Nobody.

All right.

The big movies coming out next year.

Fandango did a survey and I'm going to talk to Brent Hoffman about this on Friday.

Some of the big movies coming out.

What people are most excited about.

The most anticipated movies of next year.

Deadpool three.

Here's the one I would like to see but I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed.

Beetle juice too.

I just have that feeling.

It's not going to be good.

Ghostbusters frozen empire again.

I didn't like the last Ghostbusters movie they made.

But they had the original cast from Ghostbusters in there except.

Harold Rames who passed away.

But they had and they brought him on and it looks so fake and phony.

Don't do that again.

Do in part two.

Venom three.

Despicable me for inside out to a prequel and animated prequels.

The Lord of the Rings, Gladiator two and a quiet place day one.

Every one of those movies be the exception of two has a number behind it.

They're all sequels or prequels.

Everyone is a sequel or a prequel.

That's what we're anticipating next year.

This is what they call paying it back.

Best selling author James Patterson just gave $300,000 in Christmas bonuses to employees at independent bookstores all around the country.

600 people got $500 each.

They were nominated by their boss or members of the community.

That's giving it back to the people who sold your books and made you famous.

Good for James Patterson for doing that.

In travel news, we just heard Southwest.

In the news got hit with the heavy duty fine and a reprimand for the way they handled Christmas last year.

Remember, it's all out of whack.

Everybody's waiting all over the airlines, the terminals for days on end.

Well, Southwest Airlines is being praised now for having a policy that allows passengers of size to request one or two complimentary adjacent seats so that all passengers can be more comfortable.

So if you're a little large, you can now get the seat next to you if nobody's taking it at no charge.

That's pretty good.

I like it.

Carnival cruise line announced two passengers abandoned for life after they were caught fishing off the balcony of their room.

That's not allowed.

You can't you can't stick a fishing pole over the line.

That's not really.

Now, there's on the balcony.

So that means if they caught a fish, it had to go past one or two levels.

So somebody looking out their window, so there's fish coming up the line.

I didn't know you were allowed to do that.

Apparently, you're not.

This is interesting in showbiz news.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse officially enter the public domain in not in 2024 next year.

The public domain is that means anybody can use the characters and not have to pay anything to use them or get permission.

But there's a caveat here.

Only the versions that appeared in the 1928 animated short steamboat Willie.

So if you want to make a Mickey and Minnie Mouse that look like the ones from steamboat Willie, you can do it.

You can call them Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

There's no charge because they'll be in the public domain next year.

John Krasinski.

You know, he is.

John Krasinski played Jim Halpert or Halpert from the office TV show.

He was one of the best characters on the office.

Well, they became a great movie director directing the movies a quiet place.

One, two, and now he's got another quiet place coming out.

That would be a really good director.

He wrote and directed a movie about imaginary friends called if the stars Ryan Reynolds and all star voice cast including Steve Carell, one of his people from the office.

John Stewart is wife Emily Blunt and more.

The trailer is available online.

Who would have known he would have turned out to be a great director.

It's like Ron Howard when you saw him as OP.

Do you think he'd be one of the greatest directors of all time?

And why have we heard from Ron Howard lately?

We haven't had a Ron Howard movie in years.

Did we do this one already?

I'm not sure.

I think we did this one already.

Maybe we didn't.

Do you ever read reviews online before you make a purchase?

All right.

I do.

Sometimes I'll read the reviews.

21% of Americans who've reviewed a product or service admit they have never actually tried it before.

32% say they left a review of something.

They've never tried because they didn't they didn't feel like it.

23% left a review based on hearsay from someone else.

22% left a review because they didn't like the idea of the product.

19% left a review because they didn't like the owner manufacturer.

10% left a review to be funny like an Amazon spoof review.

79% of Americans say they always are sometimes clicked online reviews.

You know when we do it, when we're about to go to a hotel, we always read the reviews.

Because I think they're pretty, they're pretty sharp those reviews.

So I'll check those out.

We got the results of a survey here on the three biggest things that make co-workers hate each other.

I didn't know co-workers hate each other.

But I guess they do interestingly enough.

They're barely even related to work.

There they are.

Co-workers will always take the best vacation days so you can't get time off.

You know, that happened.

We had when I was writing station, I worked at the walkie.

I always wanted to get that week before Christmas and New Year's.

But there was a guy working for us who was single.

And he booked the week three years in advance.

So I talked to somebody at HR and they said, he can do it.

He was single so he had no one to check with.

So he just booked it.

So no one else in the radio station could ever get that week off between Christmas and New Year.

Because he booked it and there was a lot to see when you have a spouse or a partner, a significant other.

You got to check with them to see if they can get the week off.

But he didn't have to check with anybody.

Co-workers will steal your food from the office fridge.

I've seen it happen.

I've never done it.

Co-workers who slow you down or make you work extra by taking super long lunch breaks.

Here's a heads up.

Even if the vacation one bugs you, the survey found 84% of people have already sketched out their rough vacation plans for the year.

I've already requested the days off or about to so they can beat their co-workers to the bunch.

Yeah, this guy did it.

Actually, he worked here too for a while.

He worked for me when I was a program director in Milwaukee.

But I brought him here to this radio station after he left there.

He got fired from there.

So I brought him here and he's no longer with us.

But he always got those weeks off.

Funny how you never forget some things.

It's already amazing how much your body is doing.

Now get this.

Even though you insist on flooding it with booze and gravy in the next 30 seconds,

here's what your average body will do.

Take eight breaths of air.

You'll produce 72 million red blood cells in the next 30 seconds.

Your blood will travel four miles in 30 seconds.

You'll shed 174,000 skin cells, I guess right here all over the studio.

You'll blink six times.

You'll have 25 thoughts.

Your heart will beat 36 times and your body will generate 100 wants of energy.

I'm still back to producing 72 million red blood cells.

By the time I started reading that story, you've already produced 72 million red blood cells

and your blood traveled more than four miles.

That's amazing, isn't it?

And you don't have to do anything.

It does it all by itself.

That's the interesting part.

What's the dumbest thing you've ever seen someone be offended by?

Here are five examples we've found.

A lady got really offended because I wouldn't let her hold my weak old baby.

This was a complete stranger at the grocery store, by the way.

I was hugging my girlfriend when two strands of her hair got caught in my watch.

I accidentally pulled them out.

She started crying and screaming for me that I ripped her hair out and dumped me two days later.

At a fast food drive-through, I said thanks to a guy after he took my order

as they were trying to give me my food.

The manager told me I was rude for saying thanks and that I should say thank you.

I never went there again.

I was in England, went out with a black friend of mine.

When someone referred to him as being black, a random white woman started yelling at us.

The correct term is African American again.

We were in England.

I guess the American part in England seemed kind of odd.

Someone complained at my restaurant that their Swiss cheese didn't have enough holes in it.

I guess it takes all kinds.

A study found that eating ice cream for all, wait a second now, all at a second.

This is something I've been waiting for for my entire life.

A study found that eating ice cream for breakfast makes you smarter.

The average researcher, the average of the researchers aren't sure why,

but it's possible that ice cream makes you happy and that boost your mental energy.

I'm going to go out and get a giant tub of ice cream.

And before I leave to come to work every morning, I'm going to have a couple of scoops in a cup.

It makes me any smarter.

Something tells me it won't.

The average single person now dates six people at the same time according to a study by e-harmony,

but dating doesn't necessarily mean going on dates.

In some cases, just texting with somebody.

Did you imagine juggling six people at one time?

A 13 year old kid in Texas recently asked his friends and family

to only give him money for his bar mitzvah.

He ended up with over $25,000, then he used it to buy 800 pair of brand new Nike's

for underprivileged kids.

They were good people in this world.

What am I going to tell you?

If it goes bar mitzvah money and gave it to the poor, that is just great.

The top things your cat is thinking right now.

Look at your cat.

You don't know what your cat's thinking?

Well, I'm going to tell you which cat's thinking.

Pathetic humans, I need nothing from you except when it's dinner time or my litter box is full

or when I get sick.

Or when the dog dies at midnight, unless I'm taking a nap, then we'll recalibrate in the morning.

You realize whatever you hang on the Christmas tree, I'm going to destroy, right?

I bring you a perfectly good dead bird and you rack like that?

Hey, where did my claws go?

Nice new leather sofa.

I think I'll destroy it.

Prepare to meet your maker.

Red laser dot.

And no matter what you tell yourself, I'm no substitute for a boyfriend.

There you go.

That's what your cat is thinking.

I'm Don Rosen.

Tiny tuts with their eyes all afloat.

They know that Santa's on his way.

He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his slate.

And every mother's child is gonna spy to see a reindeer really know how to fly.

And so I'm offering the central phrase to kids from one to 92.

Although it's been said many times many ways Merry Christmas.

That's a classic from Nat King Cole.

Although he didn't write it.

The original was by Mel Tormet.

He wrote it.

But I mean, this is the quintessential Christmas song.

Nat King Cole.

It was had his sing it.

Met you this before.

Nat King Cole was an actor as well.

And one of his best roles was in the comedy Cat Balloon with Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin.

But we get a chance of that movie.

He is just great in that film.

I'm so I'm offering the central phrase to kids from one to 92.

Although it's been said many times many ways Merry Christmas to you.

It doesn't get better than that.

Nat King Cole.

The Christmas song at WRJN Radio.

Okay Walt Disney was born 122 years ago this month.

Tour of Falls Walt Disney was a high school dropout.

That's true.

We dropped out at 16 to join the army.

They rejected him because he was too young.

You did get a job with the Red Cross, they're driving an ambulance in France for a year.

He didn't voice a single Disney character.

He was just a producer and animated.

Falls.

He didn't do much voice acting, but he was the original voice of Mickey Mouse from 1928 to 1947.

He also had a few other minor Disney characters.

Mickey's original name was Mortimer Mouse.

That's true.

Walt's wife Lillian told him to change it to Mickey, she thought Mortimer sounded too depressing.

It only cost one dollar to get into Disneyland when it first opened in 1955.

That's true.

A dollar for adults, 50 cents for kids.

He had to pay 25 cents to 35 cents for each ride though, if you're a single ride.

It's been 870, which is like $80 if you're adjusted today for a single pass.

And he won more Oscars than any other person.

That's true.

Walt Disney won 22 Academy Awards between 1932 and 1969.

He also holds the record for the most nominations with 59 and the most wins in a single year with four.
