So a movie last night went to the movies, something night movies.
I love going to the movie theater.
I don't like it.
I like it.
They're okay to watch it on TV.
But I like to go to a movie theater to see a film.
We saw the movie The Shift.
Did you hear about that?
It's put out by the company Angel Studios, which put out one of the biggest films of the year.
And I can't remember the name of the film.
It was about trafficking of teenagers, young girls.
And it was a huge hit.
Bigger than the Indiana Jones film and bigger than the Top Gun sequel.
Or the Mission Impossible sequel, one of those films.
It was real big.
So Angel Studios puts out all these movies now.
They distribute them rather than make them.
And this picture was a little out there.
It wasn't bad.
It was this little two sci-fi for me.
So you give it a try if you want.
It's called The Shift.
And it's playing in Marcus theaters.
Playing at the Renaissance.
There is a new movie coming up.
We saw a trailer for a movie called...
It was a Bonhoeffer from World War II.
It's about Bonhoeffer who went against the Nazis during World War II.
And my wife said, we're going to see that.
And it's said at the end, coming November, 2024.
You've got a whole year.
They put the trailer out now, a year in advance.
So we're looking forward to that.
Something to look forward to in 2024.
An animated film on there.
It wasn't a Disney film, though.
It got acute.
It was called Migration.
I think it's out now at theaters.
It was kind of cute.
A little kid.
I think I'd love it.
It's about these ducks trying to fly south or whatever.
And they get lost and wind up in Times Square and all over the country.
It looked kind of cute.
I got involved in the trailer of that film.
What was the other trailer we saw?
So another one.
I can't remember what it was.
See, I like going to the movies and watching the trailers.
Because it gives me an idea of what's coming out.

I make a list there.
Okay, I've got to see that one.

There was a trailer for a film that I don't remember coming out.
And I forgot the name of the film.
It was a film that I was looking forward to seeing.
And I can't remember what it was now.
Oh, I remember the other trailer.
It's called The Iron Claw.
A true story about a wrestling family.
And that's coming out.
If you're into wrestling.
Or is this into true biographies?
I can't remember the film.
They said it was coming out and never showed up at theaters.
I mean, it's already past the date that they said it was going to be there.
They've got a couple of horror movies out there.
There's something for everyone, really, when you go to the movies.
I mean, when you get a multiplex of 13 theaters, it's got to be something you like.
I mean, they can't miss all of them.
All right, the holiday season is here.
And we got some Christmas parties coming up, right?
Yeah, got to be careful at these Christmas parties.
People get a little tipsy or people get a little fun in their bodies.
And they think they can get away with everything.
But you cannot 60% of people say they've kissed a coworker at a company holiday party.
50% got to drunk 25% hit on the boss.
13% taken off one of their items of clothing, one too many.
And 31% had relations with a coworker after the party.
It's always going to bite you the next day because you're going to sober up.
And everybody saw what you were doing at the party.
You'll be the talk of the office and the talk of HR.
So don't do anything stupid at the holiday parties.
We have a holiday party coming up here soon, the civic media holiday party.
And seeing I don't drink, I should stay, you know, I should be good.
I should be a good boy at the holiday party.
What's the most messed up or embarrassing?
Oh, by the way, before I get off that, what is the most embarrassing thing you ever saw at a holiday party?
We had a holiday party at my first station.
And our chief engineer, he wasn't a funny guy, but one drink in him and he really turned into the funny.
You have to know what radio stations, I don't know how much they do it now, but they used to trade everything.
In other words, when we had a holiday party, they traded the facility for commercials on the radio.
So here we are at this nice holiday party on Long Island for our first radio station.
I worked at and somebody dropped something off fork on the floor.
I think it was in our chief engineer, he screams out of the room, but we need another fork.
Run another 30 second commercial and the people who ran the company weren't appreciative of that.
And he kept doing that all night.
Every time somebody said, can I have another drink?
Run another 60 second commercial.
And he was making everybody angry.
Not me.
I was laughing.
I thought it was funny, but the management didn't think it was funny at the holiday party.
They had to be careful when you get a drink in you.
All right.
Well, what's the most messed up or embarrassing Christmas gift you ever received?
These are really interesting.
Here's some on our list here.
An uncle gave his nephew his beard in a ziplock bag, a gift card to a lingerie store from grandma,
and a bag of shredded cheese from an aunt.
You know, I don't think I give the best gifts in the world, but at least mine are used and appreciative.
I don't know what you get with the beard of the bag.

What do we have here?
Naughty holiday shopping habits, 57% of us have regifted something that we didn't like.
I don't think there's anything wrong with that, by the way.
They talk about regifting as if it's a curse of the ages.
I don't think there's anything wrong with regifting something.
I mean, if you don't want it, maybe somebody else does.
That's the, you know, the whole regifting thing.
That's what all these secondhand shops are built upon.
I mean, would you go to any shop that sells, resells, you know, gifts or resells items?
It's based upon something you donated that you didn't want anymore.
That's the whole business model.
So what's the problem with regifting?
Instead of going to the store and giving it to them to sell, you give it away.
You're kind of skipping the middleman on that.
I don't have a problem with that.
54% have snuck a peak at a present before Christmas.
I've done that.
I mean, when I was nine years old.
And 42% have opened something in a store and not purchased it.
You ever do that sneak a peak in the box?
Just break the seal on there.
Take a look and sign.
No, I don't want to put it back.
And then the next person finds the seal is broken.
And they don't want it now.
They want a fresh one.
So you can't do that.

You're the top three.
It's easy to sing along with.
It includes festive sounds like sleigh bells or a choir.
And it has Christmas references in the lyrics.

Yeah, I always say it again.
If you're going to write one song in your lifetime, it's got to be a Christmas song.
Because songs come and go, but good Christmas songs are played every single year forever.
I was watching the, excuse me, I was watching that.
I taped it.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony special from Rockefeller Center on NBC.
There are a lot of Christmas songs in there.
I never heard of before.
And they're singing them on national TV.
So somebody wrote them.
And somebody's getting a lot of publicity.
Not to mention that two cents or five cents they pay you every time it's publicly played.
But there's some good songs in there I never heard of before.
I thought it was embarrassing at one point.
They had, I think, share was singing.
It's a good job of it.
You look good.
The song was good.
Whatever songs you were singing.
And the host of the show was Kelly Clarkson.
And they would cut to a shot of her right in front of the camera singing along.
And you know it was staged.
It was so embarrassing to watch.
But Kelly Clarkson did a good job as hostess of the show.
Great job.
And I think the show was excellent.
I, I enjoyed it.
I was really taken by the way, Seth Rogan, not Seth Rogan.
Seth, um, I can't think of his name now.
Seth, the guy with this is the voice of Ted, Teddy bear.
Anyway, he, um, he had a partner singing up.
And they were great.
I didn't know we had such a great voice.
Good for him.
It was good.
It was good.
You couldn't tell which parts were recorded and which were live.
They couldn't do everything alive because you can't change the stage that quickly.
So what they did was they had one setting in front of Prometheus, which is the old ice skating
rink and the old ice skating rink in front of Rockefeller Center.
Then they had one on the rooftop at Rockefeller Center.
And I think they had one at the rooftop in Radio City Music Hall too.
So they had three different because they had to keep changing the sets for the different groups.
I thought it was great.
I love those.

just had her first birthday party in her entire life this month.
She had never had one until now.
So her senior living center went big,

She was hoping to get 105 birthday cards didn't happen.
She ended up with more than 1200 birthday cards.
Good for her.
Then it gives her name,
but happy birthday.
105 year old lady in Cherryville, North Carolina.
That's nice.

This, I guess, happened over Thanksgiving.
Hopefully this didn't happen to your house.
Police in Oklahoma arrested a man after a family gave him a monopoly turned violent.
Never played board games during the holidays.
The family was drinking alcohol and playing monopoly when the fighting started.
They knocked over the game board,
turned over the furniture, then took the fight outside.
At some point, the guy pulled out a gun.
He did fire a shot,
but thankfully he aimed at the ground.
No one was hurt.
He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon,
sent to the Tulsa County jail.
Not to pass go and not to collect $200 at the same time.
You know, and it probably all started over rent on the mediterranean and Baltic properties,
which is the lowest rent you can have on the monopoly board.
But that's probably where the fight started from.
Table news has gone so far off the deep end that it's impossible to believe a word they say, right?
Social media has been so infiltrated by clickbait and Russian bots
that the news you see there is somehow even less reliable.

I got to tell you a quick sledding story here.
I grew up on Long Island.
And there was this giant hill, Beth Page Long Island.
I mean, it's, it's a big hill.
Everybody goes sledding there in the winter.
And we went sledding there, went with some neighbors.
I was a little kid at the time.
And you go down the hill, then you got to, you know,
schlep back up the hill with your sled.
So my mother's going down.
And she's going down on her stomach because she didn't want to sit.
She wanted to get down to the stomach and she's going down.
And just as she takes off my father jumps on top of her
so they could both go down.
And they're going down the hill.
At this time, my mother smashed her face into the sled.
She was wearing sunglasses that were made of glass.
And the glass was all in her face.
Her face was bleeding all over the place.
My father didn't know it until he cracked into a tree.
And we had taken her to the hospital.
And that was in the 1960s, which you passed away at the age of 92.
She still had that big scar going across the bridge of her nose.
My dad jumped on to her.
So how can people hurt themselves sledding?
That's how 5,000 people fall and hurt themselves putting up decorations.
That's pretty obvious.
And you're more likely to have a heart attack on Christmas than any other day of the year.
I guess the surprise of the presents or just the anxiety of it?
Oh, I don't know.
We talked about regifting before.
And I don't think it's anything wrong with regifting.
As long as it wasn't used, like if you had a used, like,
okay, one of the gifts people re-give to socks and underwear.
If you've used them, you don't regift them.
If they're brand new, still in the packaging, well fine.
I mean, that's what they have secondhand shops for.
You know, when you go to these secondhand shops, it's people that didn't want the items.
And they're giving them to you right here free of charge, toy the trees, candles, and picture frames.

Now that you're an adult, are you like, I'll open the presents whenever I feel like it?

But it's just that I don't like the reaction I have to give when gifts are opened up.

A new study found if you have surgery on the surgeon's birthday,
you have a 23% higher chance of dying on the table.
Researchers think it's because the surgeons are a bit distracted about their birthdays.
You know, when I had the open heart surgery 12 years ago,

All right, let's check news to which eight waddles in our news center.
This morning and these are the stories to where it is working on.
The new received police chief says he wants to focus on recruitment and crime reduction.
Alex Ramirez was the first Latino to hold that position.
He was sworn in late last week.
He previously served as the interim chief after the resignation of Maurice Robinson.
The official swearing in ceremony took place at Racine City Hall.
Ramirez was appointed to the position last month by the police and fire commission.
The Kenosha all these stores stayed open after someone drove into the building Saturday.
Investigators say the man driving the truck was suffering from a medical condition.
After he crashed into the back of the store Saturday afternoon, driver was taken to the hospital.
And there were no injuries.
The store remained open while repairs are being planned.
A rerouting is in the future for some Racine drivers.
I mentioned earlier the state street lift bridge will be shut down for cars and trucks today.
It will be closed through April 1st.
I told you the barricades look pretty permanent.
Let's say they have no intention of taking those down for a while.
Cruisely used the time to fix and paint the bridge.
While they're doing the work cars going east and west on state street will be detoured using Hamilton Street.
Three children under the age of four were founded a home during a drug-related search in Racine on Friday.
33-year-old Juan Mendez Jr. was arrested after the search, which police say fentanyl.
Amphetamines and a handgun and cash were also found.
Authorities contacted the Racine County Child Protective Services Department for Assistance with Children.
Lightweights now expected tonight to choose day morning amounts will be generally less than one inch
with the greatest chance for accumulation along in south of a line from Wisconsin Dells to Port Washington.
Eight and a half million dollars in airport improvements is coming to Mitchell International.
Senator Tammy Baldwin announced the $38 million in total Wisconsin funding from the FAA airport improvement grants.
The funding will be used to improve runways, taxiways, terminals, airport transit, roadways, and more.
Amy to increase efficiency, safety, and capacity to accommodate new passengers.
This additional investment follows the previous $23.5 million received from the federal airport program.
That was back in September.
The agenda for a special Racine unified meeting tonight consists of building related matters.
School board will discuss approving a construction manager for referendum funded work at Mitchell K-8 School.
The board postponed the decision to allow members more time to review the information.
The proposal is for share construction company to be the Mitchell construction manager at a cost of $1.6 million.
The initiative is part of the allocated $40 million to expand and renovate Mitchell.
Kenosha County officials want your input on their proposed multi-use trail in Bristol.
The village of Bristol is holding a public meeting tomorrow to discuss the plan multi-use trail along highway C.
The project includes eight foot wide paved path replacing culvert pipes and adding a storm sewer system.
The meeting will feature a presentation at four o'clock.

A new study pinpointed the average moment when we finally hit our limit with our family over the holidays.
It happens at 2, 13 p.m. on December 26th.
Here are the top things that lead us to finally losing our patients with our loved, beloved
family members.
Criticism for being single or your relationship choices.
Criticism for how you're handling being an adult, stress over cooking, bad presence, arguments
over board games, arguments over politics.
You know, it's supposed to discuss politics over the holidays.
Being hung over, getting yelled at for not helping around the house enough, maybe sending
everyone else's kids and arguments over what to watch on TV.
Well, that one's easy.
Turn off the TV.
Turn on the radio.
That one's simple.
We can fix that in a heartbeat.
If someone says, I don't want any presence, what do you think they really mean?
According to a survey here, 12% of people think it means they actually do want presence.
It would be upset if you didn't get them one, 23% think the person does want a present.
It might be upset if you don't deliver.
If I say I don't want presence, I mean it because if I want something, I probably already
bought it.
There's something, you know, I remember once telling my mother, she said, what do you want
for the holidays?
I told her underwear.
She said, I'm not getting you underwear for the holidays.
Well, then I have to go out and buy it.
If you don't buy it, I have to, but she refused to buy me underwear for the holiday.
I wanted socks, underwear, t-shirts.
She wouldn't do it.
She got me something else, but that's not what I wanted.
I had to go out and spend the buddy myself.
All right, 15% of Americans admit they've intentionally bought someone a bad gift.
They do the person would like just to spike them.
Would you do that?
I would never do something like that.
Even if I didn't, well, first of all, if I didn't like the person, I wouldn't buy
him a gift, but I, you know, I wouldn't do it despite them.
If you just started dating somebody, you're supposed to get them a Christmas present.
Sixty percent of people say you should give a gift even if you're the, if you're only
gone, gone on a handful of dates.
Five percent think you should give a gift even if you've been only one date.
I think give a gift to Christmas gift, nothing wrong with that.
Don't get them engagement ring or anything like that, but to get them a nice little gift.
I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
It's kind of a nice thing to do.
The, we get gifts, so we get gift cards for the, we got them for the plumber, the mailman,
the garbage collected.
We get them for everybody.
I mean, it's Christmas time.
A lot of these people do thankless jobs that make your life better.
So why not give them a little gift?
You're wrong with that.

It was from a movie meet me in St. Louis and that scene Judy Garland is singing that song
to Little Margaret O'Brien at their house right in front of their house there.
The movie meet me and say, Lewis, my wife and I were at the movies yesterday.
I think it's coming to the Marcus Renaissance theater.
They're running a whole bunch of older movies like it's a wonderful life and the last day
was the Grinch that stole Christmas and I think meet me in St. Louis is going to be one
of their films coming up soon.
One near to us will be near to us one small someday soon we all will be together if
there's a lot of movies that have Christmas songs in them that are not Christmas movies
and one was Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby.
It was not a holiday movie and yet it spawned the song White Christmas.
Now later they made a movie called White Christmas which became a Christmas film but the
actual song was first performed at Holiday Inn and that's by the way the hotel chain
Holiday Inn took their name from that movie.
The guy abides an old farmhouse and turns it into like a B and B and celebrates all the
holidays there.
One for Christmas they sang White Christmas and that's where it comes from.

Here's a question for you.
It's really bug in America to real Christmas trees ever have bugs in them.
Yes.
It's possible.
They're usually not dangerous though and a few bugs doesn't mean it's infested.
Just don't use bug spray on your tree because it's six of the branches and makes your tree
even a bigger fire hazard.
Even the heat from your Christmas lights can spark a fire so don't spray it with bug spray.

The average American stresses out eight times during their holiday travel on the top
things that stress us out dangerous roads because of the weather heavy traffic and losing
something while you're traveling.
I think dangerous roads bothers me the most.
I hate to travel if it's especially at night if it's raining or snowing because the
roads become so shiny you can't see the lines on the roads because they're not using
reflective paint or whatever.
If these reflective paint are those little reflectors and it's easier to travel.
But during it's during it's snow when you can't see the road or it's very dangerous.
It scares me.
That's why I like to travel at night anymore or during the day if it snows.
I do survey as people have listening to an audio book counts as reading a book.
Only 27 people said yes.
Of course it counts.
40% say it doesn't count as reading and the rest aren't sure.
Yeah.
You read the book.
You didn't do it with your eyes.
You did it with your ears.
There's a company that offers employees what they call hangover days where you can stay
home to work if you're hungover.
The company says they came up with the policy because we wanted to offer something to younger
millennials who typically go out midweek.
I thought they were talking about the day after the Christmas party.
No, they're talking about year round.
I guess.
