The Don Rosen Show · Wed Nov 22, 2023

President Biden took part in the classic White House tradition

by pardoning two turkeys named Liberty and Bell.

They could have made Biden look hip by naming them Ken and Barbie,

but instead, they won with a reference from 1776.

But then they sent me away,

teach me how to be sensible,

the logical,

or responsible, practical,

and then they showed me a world

where I could be so capable,

or clinical,

or intellectual,

cynical.

There are times,

when I-

Good morning, 607 at W.R.J.

and I've gone roasting.

I want to thank you for joining us here today.

Yeah, that's super tramp.

The logical song,

bringing back some memories for you.

For today,

becoming sunny with a high day of 45 degrees,

a nice day tomorrow,

a nice day,

Saturday, Sunday,

maybe a chance of some snow showers,

and a high day of 37 on Sunday.

Otherwise, the weather looks pretty nice,

for Thanksgiving day,

sunshine.

Highs near 44,

can't do better than that for traveling,

but the best it gets.

Thank you for joining us here today

at W.R.J.

Good morning.

Mike Bino is going to be joining us

in the 7 o'clock hour.

He's scheduled to be here.

I'm not sure we can get all of them.

He is the editor

for our Wisconsin magazine.

This is a high gloss,

really,

fantastic magazine my wife and I get it.

And it's such a quality magazine.

It's all about Wisconsin,

and one of the reasons I'm bringing my gun,

is because when I spoke to him,

he said,

a lot of people think it's a Northwoods magazine.

It's not.

It's for the whole state,

and he would probably like more stories,

he said about Southeast Wisconsin,

including Racine.

So this might be your chance to become a published author

to a wonderful magazine.

So we're going to talk to Mike Bino.

He's scheduled to be here at 7 o'clock this morning.

So thanks,

giving us tomorrow.

I got a quiz here.

It's not a quiz,

but it's a Thanksgiving.

Would you prefer survey?

The way it works is a 10,000 people were surveyed.

And for example,

would you rather spend Thanksgiving

with your moms side of the family

or your dads side of the family?

Two thirds,

67% said they'd pick moms side.

Would you rather work on Thanksgiving

or Black Friday?

66% said,

Black Friday.

Turkey or ham at the Thanksgiving table,

72% of people said Turkey,

surprise more didn't say that,

canned cranberries,

or homemade cranberry,

71% said homemade.

You know, I was growing up,

a lot of people like the canned cranberries.

It came out in that like gel,

of that big thing and had a slice it.

A lot of people like that.

Would you rather cook the Thanksgiving meal

or clean up afterwards?

67% said cook.

I would probably say cook

because after you eat,

do you really feel like cleaning up?

Nah, nobody does.

You dress up for Thanksgiving?

Or do you wear comfy clothing?

56% said comfortable clothing.

Stuffing or mashed potatoes.

Here's where I disagree with the poll.

59% said mashed potatoes.

I would rather get stuffing.

Probably because you can eat mashed potatoes

all year round,

but you really only eat stuffing

on Thanksgiving.

And you think of another time you're,

you make stuffing for dinner?

Would you rather host a Thanksgiving dinner

or a canned one?

72% said they prefer not to host

and mooch up somebody else.

Yeah, I would want to host it.

Last year we went to a friend's house

for Thanksgiving.

It was very nice, very nice.

Apple or pumpkin pie.

56% said apple.

Neither for me.

I like cooking a cream pie.

But that's not a Thanksgiving tradition, I guess.

The napping after Thanksgiving dinner

or staying active.

Only 70% of people said they want to take a snooze

after dinner.

Who wants to say active after eating

and loosening your belt?

Going, oh, I can't eat another piece of turkey.

Where's that pie?

We really do stuff ourselves, don't we?

Got a fun fact for you this morning.

Here's something I'll bet you did not know.

Major league baseball umpires

are required to wear black underwear

just in case their pants split.

You know what makes sense?

Whoever knew it was requirement though.

Back to Thanksgiving.

Are we still having home cooked meals for Thanksgiving?

An interesting new survey claims

32% of people plan to order takeout or delivery

for Thanksgiving this year.

Now there's 17% when it dine out at a restaurant.

I have in past years ordered out from a restaurant.

They make a wonderful Thanksgiving meal.

My rest of my family doesn't like

the traditional turkey dinner.

They get other stuff.

But I love their Thanksgiving meal,

which by the way they serve you around

and I get occasionally.

I'll get it.

But yeah, that's.

That's got to be turkey stuffing mashed potatoes

and I think carrots I get with that.

All right.

Ever have bad Thanksgiving guests

over your hands?

I mean, really people who do bad things.

Now some of these aren't terribly bad.

Like show up early.

They can annoy the holers because they're not ready yet.

Now they got to entertain you

and get ready at the same time.

Show up starving.

I would think you'd want your guests to show up starving.

Last minute dietary requests.

Now that's a no-no.

The meals are already cooked.

They're not going to start doing your special request

at this point.

You should have put that in weeks ago.

Demand oven space.

People bring stuff over.

They say this has to go in the oven right now.

Get that turkey out of there

because this has to go in.

And here's something it's hard to believe people do.

Critique your cooking.

That is rude.

I don't think I'd ever do anything like that.

Somebody's Thanksgiving table.

That's just that's rude.

Overstate you're welcome.

Yeah, when dinner's over and the lights are going out

and people are starting to leave,

best you leave with them.

And of course drink too much.

Nobody wants to get drunk over somebody else's house.

A woman in Canada posted a TikTok video,

a guy asked around of a date,

sent her a survey to make sure he planned something.

She actually would enjoy it.

That's kind of nice, right?

But then he gave her an exit survey after the date.

I think he meant that to be funny.

But he gave her an exit survey

for her to fill out how the date went.

Must have done something right

because they're still dating.

But that's interesting.

Will you take this survey?

How do they do on the date?

Just mail it back to me

and you get a special prize in the mail.

Do you ever have, if you're a single person,

if you ever have married couples,

just do everything they can to get you married off

and take away your single life?

Well, here's a list of underrated advantages

of living alone.

Never have to wait for the bathroom.

Total control over heat and air conditioning.

Every item in your home is exactly

where you left it the last time you used it.

Oh, yeah, that's a plus.

It is.

The whole place is your bed.

You can fall asleep anywhere.

Diding a lot easier because you're the only one

to buy food for.

You can walk around with no pants on if you feel like it.

You know, exactly what state your home is going to be in

when you come home.

And here's the best one of all.

When you're live alone,

you can have silence in the house.

It's tough when you have kids, by the way.

There's never any silence in the house.

Maybe when they're sleeping.

But that's it.

All right.

Somebody tried to get back at their ex

by spray painting.

Mike is a cheater on their SUV.

Uh-oh.

The SUV they tagged was in Mike's.

It got the wrong one.

Got another thanksgiving poll here.

This is from 21 to two years ago.

It's making the rounds again.

It includes a ranking of the favorite thanksgiving pies.

I'll give you a hint.

Mike is not on the list.

Pumpkin.

Number one.

Do people really like pumpkin pie followed by pecan pie?

Apple pie.

Sweet potato pie.

Chocolate pie.

What is chocolate pie?

A chocolate pudding pie.

I'll take that.

Cherry.

And banana pudding pie.

Again.

I like coconut cream pie.

It's never a choice.

Nobody ever gives that as a choice.

And the top four excuses.

People used to leave thanksgiving early.

I am not feeling well.

That's a dangerous one to do because

you might be implying that you were poisoned

by the Thanksgiving dinner.

I have to get to bed early.

I have to run an errand.

Now assuming that you're being let out

when the Thanksgiving dinner at night,

how many errands do you really have to run

on Thanksgiving night?

And I have to catch up on work.

Really?

That's what you're going to do on Thanksgiving night.

Catch up on work.

The only way you have a chance with it,

I have to get to bed early.

But you better be working on Friday.

Or that one doesn't hold water.

Yeah, I'm not feeling well.

That implies that, you know,

the dinner was poisoned.

The song Jingle Bells.

Now, you think that's a Christmas song, right?

It's actually a Thanksgiving song.

It was written to be a Thanksgiving song.

There's no mention of Christmas in there whatsoever.

No Christmas imagery at all.

It was meant to be like over the river

and through the woods to grandmother's house, we go.

That was like a Thanksgiving song.

Jingle Bells was supposed to be somehow jump the fence

and became a Christmas song.

Don't know how that happened.

What is something you wish you can experience again

for the very first time?

Here's what people said.

Christmas morning is a child.

That was always good.

Because you didn't have to buy presents for people.

You just had to open them up for yourself.

The hey, I really like you stage before relationship began.

So in high school, you know, I kind of like you.

That was good feeling.

And the first day it worked.

When it was new and exciting and not yet sold crushing.

That's something you want to relive again.

Hey, it's 617 at WRJN for today.

Becoming sunny.

It's going to be a beautiful day with a high day 45.

I wore my brand new winter coat today

because the windows were kind of frosty on the car

and that's a dead giveaway to wear your winter coat.

It looks like for tonight a clear sky

it lows around 32 sunshine.

Beautiful day for Thanksgiving.

And not all the country is having pleasant weather for Thanksgiving.

The God, he's coast.

They're going through big heavy storms.

Highs near 44 degrees and sunny for us Thanksgiving day.

The day after Thanksgiving sunny with a high year 35.

You want these people to get up before in the morning

to do the black Friday shopping.

I think they used to do that.

But black Friday sales actually started in October this year.

So those big super sales.

I don't know if they they do them anymore.

First thing in the morning.

Yeah, not sure how that works.

Let's see here Saturday.

Clotty with a high year 39.

Clotty with a chance of showers on Sunday

and a high year 37.

Right out clear sky.

I see Venus up in the sky to this morning.

36 degrees.

It's WRJN.

Gotta keep it right here.

618 now.

Thanks for watching.

Well, that's skipping for that disc in the garbage.

It had 620 at WRJN at the very pleasant good morning.

I'm Don Rosen.

Thanks for joining us here today.

Becoming sunny with a high year 45.

36 for the clear sky right now coming up at 7 o'clock this morning.

Our scheduled guest is Mike Bino from our Wisconsin magazine.

He needs your articles about Wisconsin.

We're going to talk more about that with Mike.

He's scheduled to be here at 7 o'clock this morning.

A recent Buzzfeed poll looked at how good we are at adulting.

This is a list of a bunch of things we should know how to do as an adult.

The asked readers whether or not they can do them or not.

Let's see if you're better at adulting than most people are.

Can you swallow a pill fairly easily?

91% said yes.

I could do that.

I could take pills without water.

Not good to do that, but I could do it.

Can you neatly wrap a gift?

87% said yes.

I could do that.

Let me check that off.

Do you know how to write a check?

Only 76% of people know how.

Which isn't bad, but 20 years ago it would have been 100%.

Can you sew a button back on?

Well, we're going to find out because one of my buttons fell off my shirt.

73% claimed they could do it.

Can you fold a fitted sheet?

That's tough.

Sixty what percent said yes.

Can you kill a spider without screaming?

No, I can't.

59% said yes to that one.

Do you always put the laundry away right after it's dry?

Only 39% of us do that.

Do you make your bed every morning?

Only 34% said yes.

So what do they do?

Just leave the bed a mess and they come home and go back to sleep at it.

Can you change a flat tire?

Only 28% of us feel confident we can do that.

I took a test once at a university.

It was a real estate test.

I was taken in Waukeshaw.

And I got out and I had a flat tire on my Camaro.

And I said, well, let's change it.

Easy to change, except the parking lot was on a slant.

And that was afraid if I put this car on the jack, it would start to roll.

So I was still nervous about doing it.

So I didn't somebody else that they could help.

I said, no, I think I should be okay.

So when I jacked up the car, you can see it moving a little bit.

There's a very gently changed the tire.

So it wouldn't roll down the hill.

Yeah, my luck.

The way they get a flat tire, it's on a slanted parking lot.

So what I lived to tell the story.

That's what's important.

A new concierge app called Myra.

Is that you say Maria Myra?

Anyway, it's a new concierge app.

It's only for the super wealthy, by the way.

The people who run it will get you into any event, any event at the last minute

and plan elaborate trips for you.

But you have to have a net worth of at least $30 million to use it.

Membership alone is $30,000 a year.

But it's nice to be able to throw away that kind of money.

So if I want to go to a Taylor Swift concert and it's sold out,

you'll get me in, right?

It's all I care about.

Feel good story time.

A nine-year-old girl from Texas accidentally left her favorite doll on a plane in Tokyo.

But in the American Airlines pilot named James Denon,

went out of his way to bring it back.

See, he lives a few miles from her and he flies to Tokyo a lot.

So he picked her per doll and flew it 5,880 miles back home to that little girl.

Isn't that nice?

Here's a Did You Know segment.

Guys, are you afraid to go into Victoria's Secret?

Did you know Victoria's Secret sold men's underwear from 1985 to 1993?

They probably stopped selling it because the guys don't go into Victoria's Secret.

I think we're afraid.

Well, let's see here.

How do I start this story?

Okay.

Taking a hot bath.

We talked about things that burn calories.

Yesterday, I talked about laughing at a comedy.

Burns calories just by laughing a lot.

This says, taking a hot bath for a half hour burns as many calories as a half hour walk.

Get your metabolism going and reduces blood pressure.

See, now I don't have to walk.

I can just take a hot bath.

I have to go up my physical today and we'll tell the doctor.

He says, are you still walking?

No, I'm taking hot baths instead.

Why should I have to walk?

Next time you're going through some old stuff at Good Well,

try taking pictures of things that are sentimental.

A recent study found it makes you feel good.

You're not giving up those memories for good.

So it's easier to part with stuff and declutter your life.

Just recently, we cleaned out one of my rooms there and we threw out so many books.

And after I felt terrible.

First of all, I saw them in the garbage and I felt bad because I like to keep that stuff.

But you know, you can't keep everything.

You got to throw stuff away.

I once throw out my 45 RPM records.

I had boxes of them and one day I just had to clean up.

I just took them through in the garbage.

When it took out the trash cans and garbage day, I opened up.

I took one last look at them and I really felt bad.

And maybe taking a picture of them is what you have to do.

I mean, I got rid of these books.

I felt awful about it.

But you know, you can't keep everything.

And eventually someday when I'm gone, somebody's going to throw them out anyway.

So might as well just be me.

I could be gentle when I throw out my 45 RPM.

You know, it's not that I'm ever going to use them again.

But I thought of the memories I had when I used to play them when I got them.

Remember that 45 RPM record you brought home from the store.

You quick ran over your record player and you put it on called your friends over.

Hey, listen, I got the new record from the box stops.

It's called the letter.

I was back in 1966.

That's exactly what we did.

Everybody got a new record and we went over Donnie Schultz's house.

And everybody get a chance to play their new 45 RPM for everybody.

That was kind of neat.

Those days, God, forever.

But maybe taking a picture of them is not a bad idea.

Am I considered that?

You're the top praises that make people immediately call you out for lying.

This is so true.

For example, I'm running late.

Be there in five minutes.

Yeah, you know they didn't leave you.

I'm fine.

Especially if you say to somebody who looks kind of crabby, say, are you okay?

I'm fine.

You know, they're lying.

To be honest with you, anytime somebody says to be honest with you and implies they were lying before.

Because now they're being honest.

I'm not trying to be rude, but you are trying to be rude.

If you aren't trying to be rude, you wouldn't be rude.

And that was my last piece of gum.

Can I have a piece of that?

That was my last piece.

But what if it really was your last piece of gum?

Then you weren't lying.

Hmm.

Coming up at seven o'clock this morning schedule, Mike Bino is going to be here from our Wisconsin

magazine.

I brought my copy and it comes out every two months.

I have in my hands the October, November issue.

Just beautiful photography on a high gloss magazine.

That's what I like about it's high gloss.

In other words, it's heavy paper stock.

And it looks wonderful.

The color separation, everything.

So we'll talk to Mike Bino.

I've had him on the air before.

I think at this radio station at one time.

Maybe he was my other radio station.

Yeah, it was my other one.

And he'll tell you that he probably wants some articles about receiving affiliate on

that.

Let's have contests in there, which are really neat.

We'll talk about that as well.

The Howard Wisconsin magazine.

Good.

Hey, for today, becoming sunny with a hundred forty five.

I'll stick my beak out in just a moment here to see if it's sunny yet.

Looks like a clear sky tonight.

Those thirty two Thanksgiving sunshine.

Great day with a hundred forty four.

Throw that football around in the backyard with the kids tomorrow right before dinner.

Sunny on Friday.

Eyes near thirty five.

Cloudy on Saturday with a hundred thirty nine.

Maybe some snow showers on Sunday with a hundred thirty seven degrees.

We're coming up on six twenty nine.

At WRJM.

This is WRJM.

We're AM fourteen hundred ninety nine point nine FM.

In Racine ninety eight point one FM in Kenosha.

Home town radio refreshed a civic media station WRJM.

Muscle guy that's going to give me the tour because he thinks I'm going to want to be like him.

I don't want to be like this guy.

He's like, hey, Mr. Jim.

Well, let me show you the facilities.

Why don't you spell facilities?

So he goes, listen, first we got to do a little fitness test to see where you're at.

And I say, well, I can save you some time right now because I got a little winded filling out the application.

So if there's someplace I could lay down for a few minutes, that would be good.

He puts me on this treadmill.

I'm on there for like two minutes.

I smell bone burning like when you're at the dentist.

The show, the rainbow is all I can do.

Dream of the good times that we never knew, no late night.

Alone in your arms, I dream of living in wonder.

Thinking of you, still looking for ways to uncover the truth.

You're so young, is all they can say.

They don't know.

If I could change the way of the world, I'd be your good.

Too many walls have been built in between us.

Too many dreams have been shattered around us.

If I seem to give up, I'll still never win, deep in my heart.

I know the strength is within.

Watching the others, chances drop by.

They'll never discover, is feelings high.

Deep inside, I'm falling apart.

All the love, when a broken heart.

Thinking inside of love is only allowed.

I love this.

I'm Kathy Dennis, too many walls.

Good morning, 637, a WRJN.

Clear sky, the sun is coming up.

The sun is coming up over Lake Michigan.

I put my beak out the door and I saw it.

So I know it's coming up.

So it's sunny today with a high-dare 45 degrees.

I can say that with being safe now.

It's going to be sunny.

It's giving day.

Looks sunny with a high-dare 44, Friday, sunny, cloudy, Saturday.

And maybe a chance of snow showers on Sunday.

Let's check news.

This is from Stuart J. Wattholz, who's watching news for us in the news center this morning.

We're seeing county school district is experiencing further changes as their superintendent submitted

his resignation letter.

The Raymond School Board only announced his departure on Monday night.

Michael Garvey signs a toxic work environment since the board's decision to terminate principal

Jeff Peterson revealing that he was facing death threats and witnessed the district spending

limited limited funds on legal defense for the principals.

This missile Peterson alleges that he was fired due to his sexual orientation and Garvey

states in his letter that vindicate the staff members, vindictive staff members.

Excuse me.

I've held the district hostage following Peter's termination.

The Kenosha County public employee hit by a car this week is recovering from injuries

to his hip and leg, police arrested 24-year-old Alexander Avila for the hit and run and following

the chase with an O.W.I. one of the charges.

Investigators say Avila approached the construction zone where the victim was working, allegedly

made hand gestures toward the worker before allegedly hitting him and fleeing the scene.

He crashed out on the other side of town, slamming it to a tree near the home.

Two recene men are being held in Washington County in connection with an overdose death.

In Monday, police in Kiwaskam made a second arrest related to a suspected fatal fentanyl

overdose.

A 25-year-old recene man taken into custody this week, joining a 26-year-old embarrassing

man who was arrested the day after the overdose.

Both men are accused of taking fentanyl from recene to Washington County and selling it

to someone that overdosed.

Kenosha unified school district facing a potential deficit of $15 million has reported

to the school board during their recent meeting.

She financial officer provided details on projected revenues and expenses, highlighting

a potential loss of 355 students, the presentation aimed to provide information to the board as

they continue to address that issue.

There has been speculation regarding the possibility of school closures.

A top-rated care facility run by Kenosha County has some openings.

Brookside Care Center is now accepting referrals for memory care and all other long-term

care applications, and late August Brookside received a deficiency-free review from the

state agency that regulates nursing homes.

There were several new pets available for adoption in Southeast Wisconsin.

Yesterday, the Humane Animal Welfare Society called Haws, H-A-W-S, collected 35 pet from

Louisiana.

These dogs and cats were sourced from shelters in the southern region, and will be distributed

among the five local shelters.

All these animals are highly adaptable, and you can find more information about them online

and check out their profiles.

As people gear up for Thanksgiving Day travel, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation

urges travelers to watch their speed, focus on the road, expect company on major interstates,

and highways across the state.

Triple A estimates more than 960,000 people will be driving to their destinations this weekend.

Peak travel times, tomorrow, between 2 and 6 p.m. and Thursday, between 11 and 3 p.m.

Thank you, Stuart.

Stuart J. Wattles in our news center, watching things for us today.

Once again, becoming sunny with a high-tier 45, a clear sky tonight, lows 32, sunny on

Thanksgiving Day with a high-tier 44.

It's 640 at WRG and radio.

I'm Don Rosen.

I want to thank you for joining us here.

Schedule at 7 o'clock this morning, Mike Bino, the editor of our Wisconsin magazine.

Should be fun to talk about that, top of the hour.

All right.

Looking to this survey that we have, before I start the survey, have you ever used to pick

up line guys, especially, I don't think women use pick up lines, but guys, have you ever

used to pick up line?

All right.

I never have.

First of all, if I had a good one, I couldn't pull it off, and I just, that don't think

they work.

Here are the worst pick up lines of all time, according to the survey.

What's your sign?

This was big back in the 60s and 70s, I think.

I seem to have lost my phone number, can I borrow yours?

You must be a broom because you're sweeping me off my feet.

You have a license because you're driving me crazy.

Here's another one I heard of.

It's not in the survey, but I heard this years ago.

It was your father's a thief.

He stole the moon and the stars and put him in your eyes.

Good to imagine that.

And there's some ones that aren't as clean and I won't use them on the radio, but I

don't think they were ladies, those lines everywhere, they don't work, do they ladies?

Come on.

Have you ever fallen for one of those?

You know, it's an icebreaker though.

I'll tell you that.

A new study found a great way to lose weight, stop eating while after 2 p.m.

The research is found, the people who cut themselves off at two o'clock burn more fat

and actually felt hungry less often than people who eat three meals a day.

Two o'clock.

I don't know.

I have to stuff myself starting at one 15, you know, to pull that off.

Now the survey asked women to name the sexiest physical features on a man.

I came out pretty good in this.

A smile came in first place, the rest, let's say the rest of the most attractive physical

features.

First hair, I can get a haircut, big hands, a nice back, I don't know, my back looks

like muscular arms, that one I don't have, and facial hair, yeah, that I have.

So I came up pretty good because muscular arms came out not one, two or three, so that's

good for me.

Let's see if we have anything out there.

Oh yeah, I got a new survey, another one, a 60% of college football fans say they'd

excommunicate friends or family members who root for the other teams for the entire season.

Give them a, give them a shot at the championship.

So if you had a friend who was rooting for, oh, let's say Illinois instead of the badgers,

would you like get rid of them for the rest of the season, a 63 year old lifelong bachelor

in New Jersey finally getting married to a woman he met at a wedding 64 years ago.

His name is Joseph, her name is Mary, and she's 83 years old Joseph and Mary, huh?

She was made of honor at his sister's wedding in 1959, and he was the best man.

They recently reconnected after their, after her husband bounced away, the wedding is

set for October.

He said it took him 84 years to get up to nerve, to ask for a date.

It's got to be a record 84 years of wedding to ask.

A poll found 40% of us have dated a coworker before and the employees most likely to have

a work or work place romance people in HR.

Your coworkers and human resources are more likely than any other group to flirt with employees

have a crush on a coworker have dreams about a colleague and have a romantic relationship

at work.

See, the people in HR have one advantage the rest of us don't have they've know everything

about you.

You've got your entire dossier, I'm going to fix these headphones here, they have your

entire dossier, so they, you know, they have the inside track.

I've never dated a coworker, never would, but I know people that have and it never comes

out good and I'll tell you why because after the breakup and there will be a breakup,

after the breakup, you still have to work with that person.

Especially if you're the boss and they're not the boss, that could be devastating.

I will tell you at a place I work, we were taken out to lunch by the boss and he said so

and so may be complaining about me.

I said, what are they complaining about?

What would she complain about you for?

He didn't go into detail, but later I found out they were dating and he was married.

He broke up with her and went to another woman, eventually married that woman and she

didn't like it.

But yeah, we're all working in the same building together.

I didn't know there was any hanky panky going on.

Everybody else in the building knew I didn't know.

So, you know, it could be dangerous.

It turns out nothing came of it, but he wanted to warn us just in case.

You got to be careful, even if you're single, you know, if you're both single and you're

dating each other in the office, when you break up, you still have to work together.

And sometimes that doesn't go well.

It depends, you know, who does the breaking up, but still, I'm not going to go well.

Better just to find somebody outside the workplace.

Yeah, I know people, I know a lot of people that dated their co-workers, in each case,

it didn't come out well.

If you want to capture the incredible feeling of Christmas, apparently it's easy.

Let's go for a walk in the park.

Really, that's what they say.

When people go for a walk in the park that has a lot of trees, it makes them so much happier.

And that mood is the same as if you wake up on Christmas morning.

I assume as a kid, I wake up on Christmas morning, nothing changes.

Hmm, guys, listen up.

Here are some things men assume are unattractive, but women actually like a hairy chest, scruffy

facial hair, nerdiness, and a bit of a gut.

How big of a gut?

How big we talk in here?

A little bit where there's, you know, you know, I can't fit in the chair with the movie theater

type of gut.

So what we're talking about.

All right, what are some of the honest things you were afraid of as a kid?

Clowns.

I was never afraid of clowns.

Although I don't have a picture of me with a clown coming up to me and I look petrified.

The dark.

I'm still afraid of the dark.

That's underneath the bed, the closet, people in costumes, and escalators.

My Aunt Claire was petrified of elevators, and she wouldn't get into elevators.

She wouldn't do it.

I can't tell you why, but, you know, she'd walk up the steps, yeah, but it's on the sixth

floor.

She goes, that's okay.

I'll walk.

Okay.

That's what she did.

She'd walk up to the sixth floor.

Some people have petrified and that's enough.

Everybody found the most common excuses menus when they cheat here at the top three.

So I guess ladies, if you're hearing these excuses, you might want to do a little bit of

investigating.

I'm playing golf.

I have to work late.

I'm going out with friends.

You know, instead of making up excuses, guys, you know, it's a lot easier.

Stop cheating.

And you see this on date line all the time, you know, there's date line.

Anytime somebody's murdered, there's a cheating husband or anytime a guy is murdered,

there's a cheating wife.

They all, it always comes down like that.

That's why the police always ask them first, how's your marriage?

Because you know, there's cheating going on.

And there always is when the spouse murders another one.

All right.

Just don't cheat.

You know, one of the worry about getting murdered and being on date line becoming sunny

with a high-tier 45 today, clearing and, let's see, a clear sky for tonight.

This is 32 sunshine tomorrow with a high-tier 44 for Black Friday sunny with a high-tier 35

cloudy on Saturday, maybe some snow showers on Sunday.

It had 649, 649, it's a little minute in front of 7 o'clock at WRJN radio as 1,400 am 99.9

FM.

It was seen 98.1 FM in Kenosha.

People are talking, talking about people, and you're the whisperer.

You won't believe it, they think we're loving, kept on the cover, I'll just ignore it.

But they keep saying, you know, it might have just a little too loud.

Oh, you just stand just a little too close.

We stand just a little too long.

Maybe they're seeing something we don't darling.

Let's give them something to talk about.

Something to talk about.

Let's give them something to talk about.

Something to talk about.

Let's give them something to talk about.

I hope I love.

I feel so full.

I've never noticed you that so much.

Can you be falling for me?

To make me wonder, now I can just have going on.

That's Bonnie Raid.

You know her dad was, and that was John Raid.

He was a big Broadway show actor, and movies too.

He was in the pajama game.

That was his big movie with Darnage Day.

And he was in Oklahoma.

I'm Broadway.

I think the revival of Oklahoma.

I'm Broadway.

Just got to show his background.

Mike Bino from our Wisconsin magazine coming your way had seven o'clock this morning to the left.

It's 7.06 to be exact.

He'll be here to talk about a beautiful magazine.

If you haven't seen it yet, you should pick up a copy.

I don't know if you can pick it up on a new stand.

I know you can subscribe to it because my wife and I have for several years comes out every two months.

And it's everything about Wisconsin.

And Mike's going to tell you all about it's a high gloss magazine.

You don't see those anymore.

I'm going to ask him why he decided to go into the magazine business.

You know, when magazines and print is on the outs, they're not.

They're going full strength, full speed ahead.

A poll asked, how many pair of underwear?

You pack when you're going on a six day trip.

Now you would think six or more, right?

22% of people said six, one for each day.

13% said less than that.

And they were mostly men, of course.

I remember when mom said though, make sure you have clean underwear in case you can hit by a car.

My mother used to say that too.

They changed her under, what if you can hit by a car?

I think that's the least of my problems.

If I get hit by a car, a 14 year old in Minnesota named Connor Haslow was fishing with his dad on Lake Famous for Walleye.

But instead, he hooked a wallet.

And inside the wallet was $2,000 cash.

Now they could have kept it, but he did the right thing and used a business card he found inside the track down the owner.

It belonged to a farmer named Jim Denney.

He said it fell out of his pocket while he was fishing a year ago.

He offered Connor some money as reward, Connor refused.

So Mr. Denney bought him a nice personalized fishing cooler to say thank you.

Not only did the kid return it, which shows character, but he refused to reward for doing the right thing.

The kids going places, when you see somebody like that, you know they're going to be successful in life.

You just know it.

33% of Americans say that rather take a solo trip with just them and their phone and take a trip with another person.

60% of people said they plan on taking a solo trip in the next two years.

Is that if you're married, you leave your wife home, is that?

Or if you're a woman, you're believing your husband home, is that what that means?

A new viral topic out there.

Would you rather date the celebrity or the character they played?

Like, do you want to date Bradley Cooper or Jackson from a star is born?

Do you want to date Jennifer Aniston or Rachel from Friends?

Matt LeBlanc or Joey from Friends?

Will Smith or Alex Hitchens from the movie Hitch?

Avalongoria or Gabriel Solis from Desperate Housewives?

And Mindy Kaling or Kelly Kapoor from the office.

Kelly Kapoor, the office is a very cleanly person.

I don't think I could date her.

The funny thing is, when you see actors and actresses and you say, do you think they've been married three times?

How did people divorce them?

Why would this anybody divorce those people?

You know, it happens.

You would think that, you know, people like Kevin Koster just went through a real brutal divorce.

Look at Brad Pitt.

He's been divorced twice.

And people are, oh, I'd love to be with Brad Pitt.

Well, I could tell you two women that wouldn't want to be with Brad Pitt anymore.

Although Jennifer Aniston, I think, is she would come back.

But still, you know, two women, they want nothing to do with Brad Pitt.

The first diet soda, what do you think it was?

It was diet right.

Diet right soda back in 1958.

Then in 1963, Coca-Cola released Tab.

That's to be one of the worst tasting sodas ever.

And Diet Pepsi came out following that.

Diet Coke didn't come out until 1982.

Did you ever taste Tab?

They still sell it.

It's in the pink cans of the supermarket.

They still sell it.

Not a lot of it, I don't think, but they still sell it.

It was the worst tasting soda.

My mom and dad used to get Tab.

And it came in bottles.

And when I was a kid, if there was no other soda, I used to drink that.

And it was just awful.

It had no flavor.

And eventually, the Coca-Cola people said, you know what?

It does stink.

Let's get some new soda.

And they came up with Diet Coke.

But still, that Tab soda.

And there was a guy who worked here who drank nothing but Tab.

First, I said, where do you find it?

And he said, it's the supermarket.

And he went in there.

And you can find a few 12 packs of it.

And then it'll stock a lot of it.

But it's still their Tab.

Who's drinking that?

All right, quickly as if I get this in here.

We have a few TV fun facts for you.

A list of random TV and movie facts I came up with.

1957.

What was the first TV series ever to show a toilet?

They show the toilet tank.

The ball was too edgy at that time.

It was, leave it to beaver.

After I loved Lucy, Vivian Vance and William Frawley

were offered their own spin off show called The Mertzes.

But Vivian said, no, because in real life,

she hated Fred Mertz.

And didn't want to ever work with him again.

Hey, it happens.

Coming up, we're going to talk to Mike Vito

of our Wisconsin magazine.

Becoming sunny with a high air 45 degrees today.

Looks like a clear sky tonight.

Lows around 32.

Tomorrow's sunny with a high near 44.

And the outlook for Friday's sunny with a high near 35 degrees.

Saturday cloudy with a high near 39.

Maybe some snow showers early on Sunday.

Then cloudy with a high near 37.

But the real important part of this old weather cast is

beautiful weather on Thanksgiving days.

If you're traveling locally, you should have a great travel date.

Okay.

Our Wisconsin.

Coming up next.

I'm Don Rosen, 658.

It's two minutes in front of 7 o'clock.
