Apple just announced that they're gonna make it easier
to text between iPhones and Androids.
Wow.
Yeah, now everyone can be in a group chat together,
whereas people with Androids put it,
wait, you guys have been texting and groups this whole time?
The dating app Bumble says that next year,
they expect to see a surge in relationships
with one person dates someone considerably older,
because those student loans ain't gonna pay for themselves.
Oh, yeah!
Seven long days, and a dozen pounds ago I reached out one night and you were gone.
Don't know where you'd run, what you running to all from all I know
So I want to bring you home
So I'm walking in rain, farming for a ride on this lonely
Can't tuck it back road, I loved you much too long
My love's too strong, let you go, never knowing what we're all
Into the rain, it's for the night
Can't tuck it back road, I loved you much too long
With a rain in my shoes
Oh, yeah, we got rain this morning
It's drizzling out there
So be careful driving, okay, wet leaves
The road gets shiny, and the lines on the road aren't that great
We're proud of losing, let's admit it, they need to be refainted
So it's kind of hard to take it a little easier this morning
We haven't had rain in a while, so we've got rain this morning
It's not Kentucky rain, it's Wisconsin rain, but we've got it
Good morning, I'm Don Rosen, I want to thank you for joining us here
608 at WRJN, as you heard the weather forecast
In case you didn't hear the weather forecast, rain today with a hundred forty-five
Cloudy tonight lows around 34 sunny tomorrow
With a hundred forty-five sunny on Thanksgiving day
With a hundred forty-four partly sunny
And I stay on Friday, black Friday, shopping day
Eyes near 37
Black Friday is really not what it used to be
You know, it used to be the sales started on Friday
Friday morning at 4 a.m. when the stores opened up
They were advertising black Friday deals in October this year
Did your black Friday deal now early
So it's not really what it used to be
We used to broadcast from the Regency Mall on the day after Thanksgiving
We used to get there at, you know, 5 a.m.
And this is when the mall was packed with stores and anchor stores
And now they're ready to tear down, you know, half the mall
But we used to give away a $1,500 shopping spree
We used to give away $500 shopping spree and $100 shopping spree
And we used to have the mall packed with people
When we had made the announcement at 9 o'clock after the morning show was over
This was on our FM station WZY
And it was black Friday
People used to get in, wait online to the mall opened up
And but now it's black Friday deals all the time
So they took away the mystique of it all
Sort of
Hey seven o'clock this morning
We're going to talk to Captain Eddie Williams of the Salvation Army
He's going to be in studio this morning
And we'll talk about what the Salvation Army needs
This holiday season from you
And I'm going to tell you something about the Salvation Army
I don't think you know
I don't know if Eddie Williams even knows
We're going to talk to the captain coming up
At 7 o'clock this morning
610 on a rainy Tuesday morning at Racine
And Thanksgiving is coming up
They have to tomorrow
The average person will eat over 3000 calories on Thanksgiving day
So you might feel like this could happen
But could really
Is it possible to eat so much on Thanksgiving
Your stomach explodes
So when asked an expert the answer was yes
Technically it is possible very unlikely though
The medical term is gastrointestinal perforation
And yes, it does happen
And I'll skip that second slice of pie maybe
45% of Americans say they'd bail on holiday gatherings
With family and friends to take a vacation solo
27% of us would need a vacation
27% say a vacation does not involve any family members
And give it a choice
More people would prefer a vacation
Over receiving physical gifts to unwrap
You know it's nice to know you want to
You know
Shoot the family away so you can go on vacation
Thanksgiving is a family time
But you'd rather go on vacation
So we're all by yourself
That's okay
This was interesting
Stanley water bottles
Hot holiday item at the gift counter this year
This story won't affect sales
A woman posted on TikTok last week after a car caught fire
The only thing that survived the inferno of the car
Was the Stanley tumbler sitting in the drink holder
It's still even had ice in it
Now Stanley has responded
They offered to buy her a brand new car
The company president posted a video about it
And thank you for showing people how tough their product is
Can you imagine that by 30,000 dollar car destroyed
Yes, but your Stanley water bottle is in good shape with ice in it still
Could you keep a secret?
I mean a real big secret
Could you keep your mouth shut and not tell anybody?
Well the winner of a massive 1.35 billion dollar lottery prize
Is sewing the mother of his child
Because she told his family about the win
She was apparently hoping she can keep it all under wraps
I guess the family members are now lining up at his door with their hands out for money
How can you keep that under wraps?
You won 1.35 billion
I would imagine it would be in the news because lot of trees say
When you buy the ticket, you have to allow them to tell who won
In case you win the big jackpot
So it's hard to keep that a secret
But he's sewing her, I don't think that's going to work
Three men in St. Louis had to be rescued by the police last Thursday
After accidentally locking themselves in a jail cell of an abandoned jail
After rescuing the men, the cops arrested him for trespassing
My wife and I went to the Mansfield Correctional Facility in Mansfield, Ohio
Probably doesn't mean anything to you
But that's where they filmed the movie The Shawshank Redemption
Almost the entire movie was filmed there with a couple of exceptions
And I'll tell you what they are in a second
What's the, what's the warden?
The warden's office was there
Tim Robbins desk was in the hallway
Remember the safe that was in the warden's office?
That hole is still there
Do you remember when he looked down the tunnel
After Tim Robbins escaped
That tunnel, it was on a stand
My wife and I saw all the props are there
And we took a picture like
Like the warden did when he was looking through the tunnel
After Tim Robbins escaped
The room where one of the inmates hanged himself after he got out of jail
Was there, it was all in that building
Now the jail cells were there as well
They filmed almost all the picture
They're the only thing they didn't film was the jail cells
And there's a reason for it
They went to a warehouse and built the jail cells there
The reason is because when we toured
And you could just walk through
Just pay, I think it's a donation to the historical society
The prison's not used anymore
There is a prison in back of the prison it's still used
But this one's not
There's no electricity in the building
So it can only be toured when it's daylight outside
And there's water all over the floors
From the leaky pipes and ceiling
But anyway you're walking through
And they warned you do not get in the jail cells
And pull the door shut because they don't have the keys
To unlock them
They don't have the keys to unlock the jail cells
And they're in pretty bad shape anyway
But you get to walk through the prison
If you're ever going through Ohio
Stop in Mansfield
And the entire movie was filmed in that town
Even the scene with Morgan Freeman
Is sitting by that stone wall
By the big tree
Yeah, the tree fell down by the way
But the wall is still there
And it's interesting if I'm a big fan of the movie
The Shawshank Redemption
And to see all the scenes in that Mansfield correctional facility where they filmed it
It was really fun
We took a video of it
And the warden's desk where he committed suicide
Is there and looking out the window
Where the police cars are coming to get him
Was all right there
The desk was right in front of the window
So you should have a good time
But don't shut the jail doors
Because they don't
Have the keys
Looking to get your kid a guitar for Christmas?
All right, here's a list of guitars you might want to think about
Loudwire compiled a list of the most expensive guitars ever sold at auction
Here's some of the list
Kirk Cobain's acoustic electric guitar used on MTV Unplugged
6 million
Kirk Cobain's 1969 Fender Mustang
From the smells like teen spirit video
4.6 million
Eddie Van Halen's custom Kramer guitar
From the hot for teacher video
3.9 million
Johnny artist like Mick Jagger
Keith Richards staying Paul McCartney
Brian May from Queen and Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin
All to race funds for Asia
After a devastating earthquake in tsunami in 2004
2.7 million
You think this next guitar would be worth more
John Lennon's acoustic electric Gibson guitar
2.4 million
And you think this would be worth more
Jimmy Hendrix White
1968 Stratocaster that he used
On Woodstock
2 million dollars
And Jerry Garcia's custom Wolf guitar
1.9 million
I would have thought that John Lennon and Jimmy Hendrix guitars
Would have been more valuable
That's just me
Got a couple of fun facts for your rainy Tuesday morning
The shortest commercial flight in the world is in Scotland
It goes between two islands
And the entire flight is 90 seconds long
It's almost worth swimming from island to island
The average person burns about 0.19 calories a minute
When they're laughing
That comes out to about 17 calories
During a standard 90-minute comedy movie
So here's why I'm going to tell my doctor
I have to go for a physical tomorrow
I'm going to tell him
I'm giving up exercise
I'm just going to put comedy's on and laugh at them
And lose weight that way
See what he says
He missed your dog while you were at work
When I had my dogs I always missed them
The dog phone
Let your dog initiate a video call with you
At work by shaking a toy
They tested it
With their own dog for several months
Apparently they say it works
And 74% of people say
They be fine with all sides
And no turkey at Thanksgiving
Most important signs we'd be disappointed
If we don't get mashed potatoes
Stuffing sweet potatoes
Grandberry sauce and mac and cheese
Become a traditional Thanksgiving
Side dish
I mean it's gay, I like mac and cheese
But I don't know when it became traditional
And by the way
All sides no turkey
Come on
We bring some of our food in on Thanksgiving
From a restaurant
I always have the turkey dinner
The traditional turkey dinner
Other members of my family
Not so much
I like to have turkey on Thanksgiving
Because that's the way I was raised
Gotta have turkey on Thanksgiving
I have turkey year round
But you gotta have an on Thanksgiving
Some members of my family have burritos
Some have eggs over easy
Oh good food
But Thanksgiving, come on
I'm Don Rosen
A lot of thank you for joining us here
It's 618 on your Tuesday morning
Some drizzle now in 42 degrees
Starting most of the day
Today with a high-deer 45
Cloudy lows 34
Tonight Sun shining tomorrow
With a high-deer 45
Thanksgiving day sunny
With a high-deer 44
And Friday
Partly sunny
Eyes near 37 degrees
A lot of thank you for joining us here
I really want to have a degree
In the last 20 years
I don't want to be a photographer
I want to be a photographer
I want to be a photographer
Over and over again
What I would not give in fall
Know what that song is about
What's I tell ya?
I can't untel you, okay?
Paul Simon was at a restaurant
A Chinese restaurant
And he was serving chicken and eggs
The mother and child reunion
Every time I hear this song
That's what I think about
So I told you once I tell you
I can't untel you
I'm Don Rosen
Thanks for joining us at 622

Rain today
Most of the day
Highs near 45
Cloudy tonight
45 Thanksgiving day
Highs near 44
And partly sunny
On Black Friday
With a high near 37
Who has some other color days they have
They had the brown
Saturday or something brown Friday
Today you need the plumber
That's what they called it
I didn't make it up
Okay, got a new survey
Here for you has 52% of people
Worst part of the entire holiday season is
Oh, do you think people coming over having to shop
Now wrapping presents
More than half say they go out of their way to buy presents
That will be easy to package and wrap
I like wrapping presents
Matter of fact, I do the wrapping in my family
My wife gives me the presents and I wrap them
Not my own but I wrap, you know, other presents
I like wrapping presents
I'm pretty good at it too
Well, I need his paper, tape, and scissors
And I'm ready to go
Remember the malls used to wrap your presents for free
Those days are over
What else do we have for you
This, ah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, feeling a little down
We've got five little things to lift your mood
In the colder weather months ahead
You ready for this? A hug
Now be careful here, you just don't walk up to somebody and hug them
It's got to be someone you know
And consensual when you get a hug
Hanging out with friends, yeah, that's good
I like doing that
Kurt Folman and I, a friend of mine
He worked here for...
Every few weeks we go up for a Monday lunch
The Monday lunch brunch
We go out and have lunch somewhere
And gossip about everybody
Going out to walk
I like doing that when I had my dog
I used to walk on the lake front every single day
Oh, I love doing that
I wanted to keep it up
But I didn't, maybe I should
Go back to walking again
We walked her in the snow the cold
If it got like 10 below zero
We didn't walk as he had trouble walking in that cold
But other than that
No, we walked all the time
Listening to music, watching television
A long time with a significant other
That came in sixth by the way
Having a stiff drink on a cold day was 13th
All right
That's good
What else do we have for you this morning
Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes
It's time when people heard the phone ring
And picked it up
But telemarketers, robocalls, and scammers
Have made so much of that
80% of us don't like to answer the phone
If it's an unknown number
Remember when you had the
Regular landline phone in your kitchen
The phone rang, you picked it up
I never not picked it up
First of all, you didn't know who was calling
Because you didn't have any calling features on there
So you just picked it up
Here's something else
You were you were
On the phone because they know where you were
They're calling you in the kitchen
They knew you where you were
Never had to ask anybody where they were
In a little poll, 54% of people say
They never answered calls from unknown numbers
Another 27% say it depends
They don't say what it depends on
Maybe in those cases when they're expecting calls from people
They don't know personally or for work
Only 20% of people say
They always answer all the calls
On my phone
If you're not in my directory
Or a haven't placed a call to you in the past
You will go right to voicemail
And I tell people that
Some of our guests I call
I say listen if you call
Leave a voicemail, I'll call you right back
It's just the way the phone is set up
So I don't get those
Extended warranty calls every 15 minutes
I got a call once that said
Your college loan is overdue
Now if you don't pay up
Well, I went to college back in the 70s
So I'll tell me about my college loan
It's all paid off back in the 70s
So anyway
What I was saying is
The calls to my guests
Will go right to voicemail unless
I've called them before
Have a lot of problem with that
I do and my phone tells
It says spam risk
And there are certain cities in Wisconsin
When I see big bend on there
I get calls every day from there
My phone never rings
It just shows that was a call
According to a brand new poll
59% of people say
Something if someone cuts in line
Ahead of them
27% will be annoyed
But never say anything
6% will say nothing
And not care
How many people will say
Something if someone ahead of them
Keep letting people cut into line
But I've never said anything about it
I don't
Like for at the supermarket when we're there
If one person's got one item
Or two items
I'm not going to make them sit in back of everybody with a loaded shopping cart
So I let them in line
And nobody gripes about it
I even ask sometimes
Okay, we just get ahead
And they say, I'm going to go to one item
What I didn't know was
He had six people with him all bringing one item
Or two items up
Now that didn't happen
Okay, so that's
I don't have any problem with people cutting in line
If longs they have one item
Now when you're in an amusement park like Great America
And a couple cuts in line
A family cuts in line
Then I care
Here's another thing
When you're in line
But it could be two lines
Melding into one
But it's really not
But it may give the appearance of that people cut right into line
The little things in life that make them happy
Here are some little things in life to make us happy
Getting a compliment
I got a nice compliment yesterday
It did make me feel good
Getting an unexpected gift
Sunny days
We have those coming up
Not today but we will have them
And finding money in your pocket
Now to me the higher denomination you find in your pocket
Probably the happier I'll be
That's the way it is
I found money
I haven't found money recently
But I remember once I found 10 dollars in my pocket
And it was bragging about it all day
To people I found 10 bucks today
Wow I found 10 bucks
I was screaming I was so happy
Because it's unexpected it's like I made 10 dollars
Hey coming up this morning
At 7 o'clock
We're going to have Captain Eddie Williams of the Salvation Arby
They're more than red kettles
Let me tell you
They are much more than those red kettles out there
And we'll talk to Captain Eddie
And find out plus I've got a surprise
I think he might not even know about
The Salvation Arby
And you will find out with Captain Eddie
This morning at 7 o'clock
You're at WRJN
Rain today with a hundred forty-five
Cloudy lows around thirty-four
Tonight sun shining tomorrow
Or just day highs near forty-five
Beautiful on Thanksgiving
Sunny with a hundred forty-four
And Friday partly sunny
At 6.29 at WRJN
More coming up right after CBS News
At the bottom of the hour
If you really love me
You tell me
And if you really
Want me to tell me
Then I will have to be
Playing up on
At 6.35 at WRJN
Some drizzle right now forty-two degrees
Look for rain most of the day today with a hundred forty-five degrees
Cloudy tonight lows around thirty-four
The outlook for tomorrow sunny
With a hundred forty-five
Thanksgiving day plenty of sun with a hundred forty-four
And Friday partly sunny
With a hundred thirty-seven degrees
Again it's drizzling in forty-two
And I'm careful out there
Don't be tailgating like the guy
He was tailgating me on the moral drive this morning
Stop tailgating out there
And then he whizzed by me
How to be going forty-five fifty miles an hour
Because he vanished into the distance
He was like the road runner
And he took off
That's what it was like the road runner
All right, are you a criminal?
Now before you say no
I'm not a criminal
Let's find out
Here are some minor crimes
We're most likely to commit
And we don't even think of them as crimes
How about this?
Returning something after wearing it once
And asking for a refund
Not that it doesn't fit
Not that it's nothing you don't like
You just had to wear it somewhere
And now you're going to return it because you wore it to the affair you went to
Taking a sick day when you're not really sick
Not illegal
But this is illegal
Downloading music or movies
You can't do that
It says right down there
The warning of every movie
FBI warning
Do not do all that kind of stuff
Do you know even if you have like a party outside
The public is invited
You can't even play music
You have to pay royalty rights
To ASCAP CSAC and BMI
Any time you do a public performance of a song
You're supposed to be playing the rights to it
Playing the rights
Even churches when they perform music
Have to pay BMI ASCAP and CSAC royalty rights
Everybody's got to do it
If you do a public performance
That's how the publishers make money
They write songs
They perform songs
They play for it
People on social media talking about things
That people hate when they were kids
But love as adults
For example, getting socks
As a gift
I told my family what
I need underwear this couple of years ago
And my mother said
When I'm getting you underwear
I said but that's what I need
You're going to buy me something I totally don't need
I'm not going to use
And to lay in the corner of the basement
But as a kid if you got underwear
My goodness, it'll be like that movie
A Christmas story when you got that money outfit
Remember that?
About this going to bed early
The other night
I went to bed it was like
Six o'clock by 36
And I got to get up at 4.30
And I was tired
But I said I used to make fun of my parents
For going to bed early
And there I am going to bed early
Taking baths
For grocery shopping
I still don't like it
I do it because I want to eat
And if my wife asked me to pick up stuff
At the supermarket on the way home
I do it because she does a lot of work
She cleans and she re-arranges the house
So I can't find things
She does all that kind of stuff
Moves the furniture around
And it does that all she works hard
And she works hard at work all day
So she asked me to pick something up
I do it
I have no idea where they are
Now she tries to remind me where the aisles are
But still the other day I had to get a rum extract
And it's a tiny little bottle about an inch and a half high
And I'm looking
And I'm looking and I'm looking
And finally having to stumble upon it
But that's why I don't like shopping
Because I can't find anything
And then I go from the right side of the story
To the right side of the story
Back and forth
People are thinking you were younger
Oh people think you are younger than you actually are
And eating vegetables
I don't eat vegetables
People think I'm younger
Only because I don't have gray hair
I always tell them the outside may look
Younger but the inside feels my age
MovieWeb.com
But together a list of 20 sequels
That should never have happened
I never knew some of these sequels
Even existed like Mean Girls 2
The Mean Girls movie with Lindsay Lohan was a huge hit
I never knew Mean Girls 2 was a movie
Mean Girls was also a Broadway musical
They did well
Home Sweet Home Alone
Or is that like the fifth sequel to Home Alone?
Son of the Mask
I assume they're talking about the Mask with Jim Carrey
The sequel must have been Son of the Mask
Mulan 2
Mulan was a movie from Disney and animated film
Honey I blew up the kid
Yeah, I remember that
The worst Jaws movie is on the list here at number 8
Jaws The Revenge
It was so bad
They cut it cut it cut it
It was only I think an hour and 20 minutes or something
It was really a short movie
And it didn't make sense
Because they blew up
The original shark in the first movie
They electrocuted the second shark in the second movie
And in Jaws The Revenge
They would say
Well this
And for what you did to him in the first two films
How could that be?
So it didn't even make sense
Michael Cain started that with
Lorraine Gary
She was in the original one too
Grease 2
Now John Travolta
And Olivia Newton John were not in this movie
I think it
I know who the stars were
I just can't think of their names
Michelle Pfeiffer was the female lead in there
She was very young in the movie
Space Jam, a new legacy
The original Space Jam was a huge hit
Not so much with the
Seagull
And Legally Blonde 2, Red, White, and Blonde
I have a book
That describes the weekend
I think I threw it out too
Maybe I shouldn't have thrown it out
Anyway, I threw out a whole bunch of stuff recently
It was a good book
It talked about
The weekend that that
Terminator Judgment Day I think came out
And there were a whole bunch of movies
That came out that weekend
And the book analyzed
The movies that came out that weekend
Legally Blonde 2 did very well
I didn't see it
Reese Witherspoon
Gangbusters
They even spawned a Broadway musical that was a hit
Someone asked 30,000 people
If you were having a mugshot
Taken, we would just smile
Now recently we saw the 19 people
Who were arrested in Georgia
And there were mugshots
On there
Some people smile
Look at them having a great time
Some people look
Sad like the end of their life is approaching
Some people look mean and stern in the picture
And some people look like
Yeah, I just woke up
But yeah, there were a few of them on there
People just smiling
I don't know what they
I mean, it's a mugshot
You were arrested
It was a mugshot time
The best mugshot I ever saw
Taken
Was, oh I forgot his name already
He was Mad Max
He was in a movie with it
I saw Mel Gibson's mugshot
And it actually looked good
He wasn't smiling so much
But it looked like a
It looked like a headshot
That you take for your Hollywood portfolio
He took a good mugshot
But those 19 people in Georgia
They were on vacation
But never had to worry about it
Hope I never do
Never go to work sick before
I have
At this radio station back
In my prior incarnation
And I had a cold I came in
Which is bad because we all use the same microphone
We all use the same equipment in front of us
We all touch the same things
And we just circulate our colds
All around the building
This is way before COVID
We circulate all our germs and everything
And you know
We all continually got colds
So I have come to work sick
I shouldn't have done it
But a survey found only 11% of us
Never do
33% always go to work when they're sick
No matter how sick they are
Atop reasons we do it are
Just too much work
We don't want to burn off a sick day
But isn't that what sick days are for
The only sick days
I took one sick day
In 24 years
And when I had my heart surgery
I had to take a couple of weeks off
Three weeks off
But then that one sick day
Where I just
My cold was so bad I had no voice left
There was no use coming in at that point
That was only sick day every time
Here's a good reason
Not to over drink during the holidays
The average person loses
A year
What are we losing?
Our phones, our keys
And our cash
Probably some brain cells as well
Nice to watch that show parking wars
If you see that show on A&E
People are Philadelphia and Detroit
Is where they filmed it
And people left to go get their cars
They were partying the night before
They didn't know where they left their car
And it was towed away
They don't have their phone
So yeah, it does happen
About the top things the average American needs
For a perfect morning
Everybody likes to have a perfect morning
Right
Here's one of the concludes coffee
Now I've never tasted coffee in my life
My wife doesn't drink coffee either
So we have no coffee in the house
But I used to love the smell of coffee
And my mother used to make it for my dad
Every morning before I left for work
Oh, love that smell
Good breakfast but I have it when I get home now
I tried to make it before I left
In the morning at five o'clock
And I didn't want to do that
So I have it when I get home
Very good breakfast
Too good
Let's see what else was on the list here
Time to catch up on the news
You can do that by turning on WRJN
At the top of the bottom of the hour
And time to listen to your favorite radio show
Now do I have to say anything right then and there
Come on
I hope I'm your new favorite radio show
If not, I will get there someday
A man is suing universal
Now this is universal studios
Where he takes you to take the tour
He's suing them because he bought a cup
With unlimited soda refills
At one of their theme parks
Then he found that
He can only refill it every 10 minutes
Now you've seen those big cups
There's like a big gulp cup
How much soda was this guy drinking
Where he wanted to refill it before the 10 minutes
Every time
How much was he drinking
Not to ruin your day
I got a list of things here that's supposed to cause you
To die faster
You want to hear it?
I'll tell you
Being single
That's surprising
You would think being married
But no, being single
Sitting for long periods of time
That's why you shouldn't sit in front of a TV all day long
Being lonely
Will do it
Watching television
And not having a job
I had a job
After I left
A WRGN
Back nine years ago
I still worked in radio by the way for nine years
I never stopped
I just worked from home
In radio, what you could do now
You couldn't do it back years ago
But you could do it now
I did with one radio station
I worked that
But I wasn't leaving the house for the most part
And you really have to get out
Even if you don't have a job
And you're retired
You should get out and walk around and do things
How about a fun fact for you
You know almost
Frado Corleone from the movie
The Godfather John Cazale
John Cazale appeared in only five movies
When his career started in 1967
He died early
In 1978
All his movies
All five were nominated
For best picture of the year by the Academy
The Godfather
The conversation
The Godfather Part 2
Dog Day Afternoon
And The Deer Hunter
I don't think anybody else in the history of motion pictures
Can claim that every movie they were in
Was nominated for best picture of the year
His girlfriend at the time he passed away
Was Meryl Streep
Cazale, he was great actor
He played Frado Corleone
He also played in Dog Day Afternoon
He was Al Pacino's partner
And robbing the bank in Brooklyn
He was in a lot of movies
Five of them
Five movies
That's something
That's a fun fact for you
61-year-old guy in Michigan has been playing the same lot of numbers for 30 years
He stuck to it
Finally hit big
18 million dollars was the jackpot
To do numbers a while back but decided
To stick with the normal ones
Paid off
Never give up, I guess, right?
18 million dollars
In 30 years
I guess it's worth it, right?
Yeah, that's not a bad deal
Alright, 648
At WRJM, the weather forecast for today
Rain not all day but it will be tapering off
Just drizzle
Highs near 45 degrees
Cloudy tonight lows around 34
Tomorrow
Thanksgiving Day plenty of sun with a 1-year 44
Partly sunny on Friday
The 1-year 37 right now
It's drizzling
And 42 degrees coming up at 7 o'clock this morning
Just a few minutes from now
Captain Eddie
Williams from the Salvation Army
The Salvation Army more than just
Red buckets of Christmas time
Trust me, you can hear all about it
At 7 o'clock
Something about the Salvation Army
I don't think he knows
And I don't think you know
That's coming up, I'm Don Rosen
It's 649 at WRJM Radio
Have you been around
Have you done your share
Are coming down
On different things that people do
I have you been aware
You got brothers and sisters who care
About what's going to happen to you
Any ever now
Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
That'd be given away
When we all live together
I'm talking about together now
Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
At 6.51 at WRJM
And I'm Don Rosen
Thanks for joining us today
Rain most of the day with a 1-year 45 degrees
Coming up at just a few minutes
We'll talk to Captain Eddie Williams of the Salvation Army
This will be interesting
You'll learn more about the Salvation Army
It's just red kettles at Christmas time
A lot more than that
That's straight ahead for you
Hey, you want to make some money?
I need big money
All right, quit your job
I got a new job for you
This woman, she's a mother of four
In Dallas, quit her full-time job
Because she's making around $1,000 a week
Dumpster diving
She mostly looks for merchandise
That was tossed from stores
And then resells it
You know, and she's not
It's absolutely true
You go to some of these stores
And they throw out stuff
That they can't sell anymore
They can't move whatever
She picks it up and resells it
$1,000 a week
Maybe when the wrong business here
All right
Got a few more items here
Before Captain Eddie comes in
New dating term
Now I am so glad I'm out of the dating business
Because I would never survive
In the dating world today
Here's a new term
Roaching
It's when you find out someone's cheating on you
With a bunch of other people
It's called roaching
Because of the gross feeling you get
When you turn on the lights in a room
And see roaches scatter
Roaching
I am so glad I'm out of the dating world
A couple, I would never survive
This is why
Triastan Michigan lost a court case
I must pay their son
$30,441 plus attorney fees
This is why
They trache his pornography collection
The value of the collection was determined by an expert
The sun by the way
It's 43 years old
Living with a pornoclection
And his parent's house
And they trached it
And I guess throw them out
And now they have to pay 30,000
Of the pornocollection
The heck did this guy have?
We're $30,000
All right, you're about to freak out at work
Everybody has a time with
The rate of the freak out
Here are three ways to calm down
Breathe in for 10 seconds
Breathe out for 10 seconds
And do it 10 times
Stir it something blue
Squeeze between the knuckle of your pointer finger
And your middle finger
Okay, squeeze between the knuckle
Of your pointer finger
And I can just squeeze between them
Squeeze between the knuckles
Oh, I know what you're talking about
Squeeze the knuckles of your pointer finger
And it's right down there in that little valley area
That's supposed to calm me down
Well, I'm not upset now
So maybe I'll try that later
I show there's something today
That I'll need to do
Or get through something at the wall
Because I hate to say this
There is a tiny little scratch
On the wall in the studio
I'm in
Back around in the 1990s
I got upset and I threw something at the wall
That little scratch is still there
I forget what I was
It's probably something stupid
But whatever it is
It upset me at the time
Here's a fun fact for you
Fall leaf colors
Are actually there year round
You know the orange leaves and the red leaves
They're there year round
The red orange and yellow pigments only show up
Once chlorophyll
The chemical that makes them green
Breaks down in autumn
In other words, those existing colors are just masked
By the great amounts of green chlorophyll
But they're there year round
When the chlorophyll runs out
You see the red, the yellow
And the orange colors of autumn
I love that
I love autumn colors
The orange and the tree
And it's all surrounding the tree in the backyard
I just love looking at it
Not raking it, just looking at it
There's good news if you wish everything tasted like a candy bar
Twix flavored seasoning
Is now a thing
You can get Twix seasoning
Grocery stores will
Get it over the next few months
It's mostly meant for things like ice cream and shakes
To sprinkle on there
It's good for fruit too
Only a way to eat fruit without being
That's funny
All right, we've got some real excuses
If you want to get out of work
Especially like if you don't want to come to work on Monday
Make it an extra long weekend
Oh, maybe not want to come to work tomorrow
And they get an extra long weekend
Here are some excuses
I gave up my plane seat to an elderly person
And can't get back for a few days
My dog didn't wake me up
My dog hid my car keys
By the way, do those dog excuses work
Like my dog ate my homework
My wife got a bad die job
And have to stay home to provide moral support
Well, that's a good excuse
These are, by the way, excuses people have used
If you asked most women
Whether they'd marry a tall guy
Or a short guy, what would you think?
Most people would say a tall guy, right?
A study found that short guys
Have a significantly lower rate of the voice
And tall guys
Sure, guys are also more likely than tall guys
To make more money
And their wives
Well, I'm six with three
You know, I look around at church
And I see some of the tall guys there
Like myself
And all the wives of tall guys are short
There's a guy sitting in front of us at church
He's got five daughters
And his wife is so tiny
She barely comes up to the
It's elbow
She's very tiny
My wife isn't tiny
But she's a lot shorter than I am
I'm gonna see if I have time for this
Stop drinking soda
Now I stopped drinking soda about six or seven years ago
I don't think it helped
Get a dog, didn't help
Cook more, didn't help
Snack on raw veggies, not gonna happen
Don't bring junk food into the house
Stop putting sugar in your coffee
And drink less alcohol
I don't drink alcohol, I don't drink coffee
I do bring some junk food into the house
That I do
So I guess I'm guilty as charged with that one
Coming up at the top of the hour
We're gonna have some news from CBS
And some local news as well, local sports
And also, Captain Eddie is gonna be here
From the Salvation Army
We'll talk to Captain Eddie
Coming up shortly right here
