Maggie Daun joins us for a bit of overtime. We begin by picking up an audience member's question from yesterday: do we want President Trump to succeed? Well, that depends on how you define "success". Do we want Trump to be successful in subverting our constitution. No, we don't. Do we want Trump to succeed in enacting hateful policies the bring social justice back decades? Hell no. Do we want Trump to be successful by reducing taxes for his ultra rich pals while increasing costs for the rest of us? Absolutely not. So what can we do to oppose Trump? As federal judges currently bear the brunt of the defense, we look to Congress for support. That said, Maggie urges Democrats in Congress not to look at a shutdown as a political tool. Rather, assemble a cohesive policy set focused on protecting middle class Americans and STICK TO IT.

For the rest of the hour, we turn to tariffs. Yesterday, Trump announced an accross-the-board 25% tariff on all imported aluminum and steel. This WILL hurt Wisconsinites, with impacts on everything from infrastructure to beer. So Trump voters, is this whatcha voted for?
