Jim Santelle, host of the weekend show Amicus: A Law Review, joins us for the day. The United States Constitution lays out three branches of government: executive, legislative, and judicial. Each branch bears the right and responsibility to check the others to ensure alignment with the Constitution. Yet now President Trump defies this sacred document as he defies the judicial branch and its authority to reign in his illegal acts. This contempt for the rule of law, the contempt for Constitution, and contempt for us all continues to shock us. And the real results of it terrify us as elected officials in Congress fear- legitimately- voting their conscience rather than Trump's will. Right now, federal judges are the final bulwark preventing some of Trump's illegal, cruel, and anti-American executive orders from taking action. Yet they face endless challenges, including now impeachment articles, introduced by Wisconsin Congressman Derrick Van Orden. Stay strong, judges. Hold the line.
