Texas joins Oklahoma and Louisiana in pushing Christian faith and traditions in public schools. Just today, Texas' education board approved a Bible-based curriculum, with a $40/student cash incentive for schools to adopt it. Not everyone in Texas' Christian communities is on board. Religious studies professor at Southern Methodist University Mark Chancey firmly opposes the curriculum. He says the program overemphasizes Christianity and teaches in a literal fashion, rather than encouraging religious and cultural literacy. Dom and Jess get into a spirited discussion and debate over the role of religion and how it should be taught.
Finally, a bit of light. Trump may claim a sweeping mandate, but the voters just didn't give him one.
