I need a weekend.
I know Dom is already experiencing the weekend.
He is weak ending without us, day-drinking, I suspect somewhere, but he'll rejoin
on Monday and we hope you do as well, but still some live radio here on Friday, some politics
to talk, it'll be me, it'll be rich, he'll very lightly screen your calls, might be a
path down involved with CJA, but the rest of you, you know, no TSA treatment here, but
you can always be a part in today, we're going to need you to come air your grievances.

You know, he's too cool for everything, our friend Dominic.
And the Harris Walsh campaign, I guess it's got a second half now, the Harris Walsh
campaign, while they're leaning heavily into the influencers to try and help, you know,
wake up low propensity voters, people that may not pay attention otherwise.
And I can tell you also, and I hope he's listening, I know he's not, that used to be one
of those guys.
He was a low information voter from the political perspective.
He wasn't always this involved, this plugged in, and the fact that he wouldn't be influenced
by anyone on any topic, makes him a particular pain in the ass, but also almost unreachable
by influencers.
So anyways, got that he's not here, so we can trash talk him in his absence.
Here's what I would say, hey, I would hope I help shape your opinion occasionally.
I would hope, maybe a little bit, scoosh.
People have sometimes asked me, crudey, who influences you?
Well certainly reading, I read everything as Sarah Palin once said, I'm reading everything,
I try to read everything.
Who do I trust?
Honestly, Maggie Don, if Maggie Don tells me I'm wrong, then I know I'm wrong.
You know, not about opinion stuff, but the big stuff in life.
The important stuff, certainly the legal, realistic stuff.
So Maggie Don hosted and finally it into this program.
I believe her politically, are there people, I admire?
I would hardly call those influencers, if we don't admire them enough, they don't get
to this position of public influence, they don't get to be a politician unless we vote
for them, right?
So celebrity is somehow different.
Celebrity is bestowed upon you.
You know, if you want to be a politician, you got to go want it, seek it, earn it, get
those votes.
But you know, in some way shape or form, celebrity meets politics, certainly in the big
presidential years.
And we saw some of that at the RNC, right?
You remember some of the big stars, the big shining stars?
Well, there was Dana White from UFC fights.
He literally gave a shaky handed speech, and I don't know if it was the drugs or the
nerves, but Dana White was shaken like a leaf, giving a speech at the RNC.
I guess he's something of an influencer to dudes that like violence sports.
I can't say I'm a big UFC guy, you know, I like football, that's pretty violent, but
you know, I don't need violence for the sake of violence.
So not a big UFC guy, I wasn't really influenced by that.
But WWE star Hulk Hogan, I mean, he pulled off the shirt for Trump fans at the RNC, I don't
know if you saw that, it was a moment, he had a moment, he was just, what down in Milwaukee?
Well, these suburbs, the excerpts of Milwaukee selling some beer, real American beer, now
made by Trump's supportive Hulk Hogan, for all you little Hulk Maniacs, 21 and over,
of course.
I'm sure no one's ever underage drink of real American beer.
I think the first time I ever drank, it was some beer called red, white and blue, and
I was like 13 years old.
And I'm not sure if it was red, white and blue coming out, but whoo, that was some terrible
beer.
And yes, yes, I did not hold it down.
What I found out, I was at a campfire, and I want to have a couple by a campfire, Wisconsin,
that is like our pastime, that is my pastime at least.
Not a sport, at least the pastime, going to a campfire and drinking too much.
That's my plan for the entirety of this week and supposed to be gorgeous.
And we got a Packer game this weekend, you know, it's playing out on a lot of the affiliate
stations across civic media, WRJN, so proud of the little station that can, Racine Kenosha,
you could listen to the Packers on civic media station, WRJN down there, 1,400 AM, and
2 FM's, 99 and 98.1 FM, I believe, memory serves.
And then we got the big WRCO down in Southwestern, Wisconsin, we got 100.9 FM, you can find
the Packers tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to probably do the Packers Lakeside on the radio,
you know, preseason game.
And then in the Northwoods, the big Q, 98, 98.1, 98.3, look it up, it's the queue, you can't
stream the Packers game, but you can listen to it over the air.
And that's what I will do this weekend.
So I would say Packers, they're at least influential in my life.
And I would wonder, is there anyone in your life that could influence you in such a way
that they could perhaps sway a vote, convince you to do something you wouldn't otherwise
do.
Not someone in your family, you know what I mean, can't be your mom says you must, I mean,
my mom's going to my mom, my mom's long past, my wife, who I remind my children, is there
mom.
She will have commands for them until the last day on her, her last day on earth, I feel
quite confident, she'll still be giving little directives.
So you know, that's different, mom's different.
Mom is not a stranger to you, even though some of you wish she was, but influencers, people
out there in the world, you know, through their radio super coolness or celebrity or maybe
because they're good at sports, I would wonder, is there anyone in this world that could possibly
influence you in a political fashion?
And did I mention, no, Dom, I've got some guests, I got a couple of lines.
In the water for guest, throughout lines, you know, like some bobbers out here, but right
now no one's hitting the bobbers.
So we may not have guests or we may, we'll see.
And you of course, eight for four, nine, six, seven, two, seven, eight, nine.
So if I haven't been clear, let me be clear.
Is there anyone that would influence you and I might give you a more serious answer,
but Maggie Don, Maggie Don is my personal influencer.
I believe what Maggie tells me.
And if she says it's, you're right, Crudy, then I feel good about myself.
And if she says, you're wrong, Crudy, I think, damn it.

the Harris Walls campaign are using influencers.
And I saw, I saw this up close and personal.
What was it?
Just two days ago, no, Claire.
I can't even say the band's name.
What is rich needs your help here?
How do you say the band?
Bony ver.
Bony ver.
Bony ver.
Like a French pronunciation, like the Olympics this year, a lot of we, a lot of French in
the Olympics, uh, Bony ver.
Justin Ferdin, Ferdin, Ferdin, I'll, I'll just check the article in a minute.
I've seen this guy like three times in the last two days.
A, I stated a hotel he apparently a big investor in B, he came out and he played some music
at the Harris Walls rally.
And C, uh, then he was across the street.
He was there meet with Kamala Harris and Tim Walls.
And I am a political junkie.
So of course, I have some political influencers, Barack Obama says it, probably true.
But if Bernie Sanders says it, it's absolutely true.
He is my absolute influencer.
I guess being completely honest, Bernie Sanders is a tremendous influencer.
And Bernie has forced me to reconsider a number of my personal indulctions.
And he has probably made me more progressive overall.
I mean, he's put some stuff out there.
I'm like, oh, Bernie, that's way too progressive, even for crudey.
And then I hear him do the math.
I hear him lay out the proposition.
I hear him lay out his plan.
I think, damn, he's on to something here.
So I'm putting down Bernie Sanders.
You may also choose my favorite political influencer, Bernie Sanders, or you could pick Maggie
Donis Welp.
She's, I have a personal relationship with Maggie.
So I respect the hell out of that lady.
So she could be very influential to me, but you can also pick her.
She's on the radio each and every day.
You could pick Jordan Love, I named a boat after that guy.
Hopefully I'll get the boat in the water this weekend, snap and running right.
I don't want to jinx the season.
So it's been leaking a little oil.
I got to figure out where my oil leak is in the Jordan Love boat in the fuel line or
gasoline, something, something putting a little oil in the water.
So I pulled it out and I got to figure it out.
Hopefully I can get the boat in the water because at $220 million quarterback, he better
be good.
He better influence my entire mood this fall for the better.
I've often said in the state of Wisconsin, as the packers go, so goes the income and see
and Tammy Baldwin.
If the packers play really, really well, and you ask it Wisconsin, I mid October, how
you feel about the economy, about your life, about anything, if the packers are like six
and one, they're feeling pretty damn good.
And if the packers are like two and four, two and six, they're going to hate life.
Tammy Baldwin's even going to have a hard time getting reelected.
If the packers do poorly, they are very influential.

I'm unfamiliar.
I'd only just met them the other day.
But I could tell you, I saw something over on the hill about the Harris Wall campaign.
And they're now selling camouflage cancullies.
Do you see this?
It's just me.
But when I see cancullies in my favorite political campaign and they're camouflaged and they
said, well, we only did the camel beer holders after the success of the camouflage Harris
Walls hat.
I said, where are these?
I hadn't even seen the hats.
So I'll make a little confession.
I went over to the Harris Walls campaign store, store.comolaherice.com.
And at Bobbie, one of these camel flush Harris Walls hats and the cool part, I think the
cool part, not the price, because I realize I'm giving a donation to the campaign, which
I'm okay with.
I realize I'm doing that.
But be a pretty damn expensive hat, 40 bucks for the hat, $4.52 for the shipping.
And tax of $2.45 for a grand total of $46.97 to the Harris Walls campaign.
But I just purchased for myself.
And perhaps I'll be the only one on the block wearing it up in Moshearer County when
I moved that way.

So I think this would be a cool thing in rural Wisconsin.
I think it's a way to sneak up on your Trumpster neighbors.
So anyways, I like this idea.
And you know, I had a few bucks burned in the hole in my pocket, apparently, because I'm
at the checkout and I've purchased the hat.
And I've been told I can expect delivery of the hat September 30th, well, I pre-ordering
the hat.
I mean, I want to wear this thing now, daddy.
You know, if I'm buying me a Harris Walls hat, I want to wear it now.
So my only disappointment, and I guess my first little grievance for the day, if you
pay $40, which includes, of course, a contribution to the Harris Walls campaign.
And you pay all the shipping and all the tax.
You drop your $47 box and you expect your hat still going to take almost two months
to get to have a good month in the elective cycle.
But the good news is it'll be here for hunting season.
The Harris Walls with camouflage orange, I do not think it would be suitable for deer
hunting, but for your other small, you know, small game where you're more likely to wear
camouflage rather than blaze orange, it'd be, you know, it'd be good for that.
Outfit topper in the Northwoods this fall, let him know, sneak up on him, camouflage
Harris Walls hats.
If you're looking to burn 50 bucks, it's a good way to do so.
So I have an influence, I apparently am feeling a little soft and weak this Friday afternoon
because just spent $47 bucks, I didn't plan on spending.
Hope no one wants fish tonight.
Sorry, dad's tapped out and you spent some money on a hat that'll get here in two months.
I'll be very proud at that time.
But let me point out the Democratic Party, the state democratic party, they've also got
their own, their own clothes that you can buy.

And here, well, I guess it's just two themes.
They've got t shirts, they've got hats, they've got buttons.
And then I'm not sure what this is, little stickers, the sticker, childless cat ladies,

And, you know, I think it's young artists, Charlie XCX started this whole influencer thing
by calling it a Brat Summer for Kamala Kamala is Brat, BRAT, and they've been talking
about this.
This is the Brat Summer.
It's apparently very good to be Brat.
I would know my kids have been Brat, but not me so much.
I've not been characterized as that.
But it's sort of a lime green color that they utilize and then it's Brat Summer,
but Brat BRAT just happens to be the same way you spell Brat, of course.
And it's always brought somewhere around here in the great state of Wisconsin.
So the dem party of Wisconsin has taken the Brat Summer theme and turned it into Brat
and then parentheticals worst, Brat worst, black t shirts, green print, or the sticker green
with the black print and they got the buttons and they got the hats, but I'm already down
for a camouflage hair swalls hat.
And I am wondering, although I haven't seen any collars yet, and what's wrong with you,
people eight, four, four, nine, six, seven, two, seven, eight, nine.
One of our snarky guys says you sure it's Brat, not Brat and Brat, not Brat.
And of course, you would have no way of knowing because these two words are spelled exactly
the same and I am easily confused if you didn't all that about me.

loose ends of Tim Walls' military record.
So it is our intention.

You know, I only took two years of French.
I did take French in high school, but I started in French.
My junior year, I wanted to have an entry ability.
I hadn't taken to foreign language and as part of the admission
requirement at Marquette University.
You had to have foreign language.
And I hadn't taken it.
So I started my junior year with freshman.
And I had some really nice freshman girls around me.
I was kind of a football player type.
So, you know, they took mercy on me and helped me conjugate some verbs in such.
But by my senior year, yeah, I was conjugating the verbs with many of the
freshman girls, my junior year.
But by my senior year, when it was very clear to me that I wasn't going to
Marquette University, I heard they had some student, their name, Scott Walker.
And it just turned the whole experience for me.
Uh, I didn't know Walker then, but I sensed there was like a dark movement in
the force in the Marquette side.
And I couldn't afford the tuition.
So by my senior year, oh God, I so didn't care.
I mean, I so didn't care about my French class.
And Madame Broke could just see it in my eyes.
I just, I was just glazed over every day.
You went German.
You went kaput, right?
You went kaput.
Let's just say I quit in the back of class and, and barely cheated my
way through exams to a sea.
I mean, I really didn't care.
But it matters though, because, you know, you said no to that, but you have said,
yes, the many things in your life.
And you were saying about people that influence you and influencers, if you
well, and I agree with you as Bernie Sanders as somebody that it was a big
and for is it continues to be a big influence on me?
In part because the guy is so tenacious, he keeps going and keeps going.
And he's really, you know, he's 82 and he keeps going and keeps going.
And I am very influenced by Mavis Staples, who is 85 and started when she
was 11, singing with the Staples singers.
And they were a huge influence on civil rights movement.
And to, you know, to this day, she keeps going.
If Rich wanted to pay play, I'll take you there sometime during the radio show.
I would be very happy.
But I just wanted to say the influencers to me are not by an object, but show me
a style of living that I want to embrace.
And it is those people who keep going that kind of terrier on a sock, if you will.
He just doesn't let go.
And I would say that that way of being in the world is something that you have
I mean, you have, you have held on to the idea of a state progressive radio network
for a long, long time.
And we're very hard to make it happen.
So you've been a positive influence.
And so with that, I think you should have the absolute, you should have a
bold weekend.
Let's put it that way.
How about that?
I intend to have a good weekend.
Bobber fishing on the lake and listen to the Packer game on the radio.
I'm a simple man show.
And then a campfire, a little too much liquor at the end.
Right.
And then you can turn on progressive radio for to take you to take you out.
If they say to take you out, you know what I do listen to every weekend show.
I try to and I mean this in all sincerity.
I try to listen to as much of Jim Santel show amicus, a law review on Saturday
morning, silver and civic media.
I try to catch that for sure.
And then around the state, one of the my guilty pleasures.
You ever listen to small town garage sales, like on the radio?
I wanted to should I should I listen to that one that's on the WRC
old one, Adam does a great job down there.
They got hundreds of people that line up on Saturday mornings.
It doesn't even matter if you're in the market for anything.
You're going to want to buy some of Betty's rhubarb.
She's got it for a bucket bag.
And I got to tell you, Joe, you know, when I'm sitting out of the cabin, I
do listen to this and I'm thinking I could go for some rhubarb pie.
Somebody write the number down for me, right?
Yeah, we'll just buzz down there and grab some.

He inspired me so much, I called into it and I, I wish he was still with us.
Do you ever get on air with Big Ed?
I never made it to the airwaves when Big Ed was on his show.
And I'd probably called in at least a dozen times.
All of that, I was just fortunate because I was doing a lot of driving and I hang on.
I was on one time and we talked a little bit, but yeah, it's really hard to get on
national shows.
You know, it's just the way it is.
If a person politically, Crudy, I really look up to in this state because she's so down
to earth is our senator, Tammy Baldwin, when she speaks, when she speaks, I definitely
listen.
He's always in the corner of the union, the corner of the little guy, the working person.
And she is just so genuine that I look up to her and like I said, when she talks, I definitely
listen.
And I wanted to add one thing before I get off here, two things, actually, I'm sorry.
One is, everything a walls did in Minnesota is kosher, you did everything right, there's
nothing there.
Period.
Yeah, you and me both served and we can both figure that out.
But I'm going to play Adam Kinzinger.
He does a lot better job than you or I could whisk up all and we're going to play that at
430.
His laying out the defense, if you will, for Tim Walls, Adam Kinziger, former Republican
congressman and he's also a guy that served 20 years in the military, Matt Jail, like
Trump made.
That would be really cool.
I'll be sure to listen to it.
Now, one of the things about the Barrymore down there, to meet up for the whole day is
my daughter walked over and said, you are a sharp, rough man, so you did get a compliment
at the end of the day there.
And the other thing I did like about the Barrymore crudey, I've been to several different venues,
you held.
The one that was kind of cool was the Democratic Convention.
We had so long time ago, it was an ash gosh, but I get to meet a lot of the people that
call and I get to put a face to the voice.
I'm kind of greedy there that I wouldn't mind having something going on at the Barrymore
again.
It may be the, it may be the debate of a lifetime.

I'm going to tell a quick story as we steam to break here.
I saw Big Ed Schultz at the Barrymore Theater.
And this was some years ago.
This was in the early 2000s.
And Big Ed was a big personality.
If you never heard the guy, he was probably the most popular lefty talk host ever.
And then he went, did an MSNBC show and it was a little too much, you know, he's a better
radio guy than a TV guy.
But Big Ed came to the Barrymore Theater and he's doing a live show and he's telling
the story to the audience during a commercial break.
So effectively, this guy's got two chains of thought going on and he's had at the same
time.
And I've already told you, I can't multitask worth a damn.
But Ed's doing it.
He's telling a story during the breaks to this live audience at the Barrymore Theater,
doing his show on the radio and he's grinning from ear to ear the whole time.
And at the time, I was selling financial services and real estate.
I did lots of real estate at that time.
And, you know, being good at a job and liking your job are two different things and I kind
of hated my job.
I felt so soulless.
I'm looking at Ed and I'm like, I want to be Ed Schultz.
I want to have that sort of joy in my life.
So a couple of years later, I approached my buddy, Dom, because the only problem I didn't
want to be rush or at, I didn't want to be a guy who just became a big ego.
Well, my buddy, Dom's always been a bubble birster, talking about bringing a guy down
to Earth.
He will kick you in the nerds in real time if you're not careful.
So I approached Dom and we started doing a radio show, but I was literally inspired
to do this show in some way by Ed Schultz, More Devils.

governor Tim Walls took the stage for their rally in Western Wisconsin.
They brought up an act they hope would resonate with Midwesterners, Grammy award-winning
indie folk band, ball, there.
This is a pretty good show for Wisconsin, I'd say frontman Justin Vernon said to an estimated
crowd of 12,000, pretty said 15,000 or more.
We all know what we're here for, so we're going to do our thing, make some music and make
way for the people we need to hear from.
The performance is the latest in a star-studded lineup, including Megan the stallions, vocals
at Harris's Atlanta rally and a historic campaign that is turned into a 90-day sprint
to the finish line.
Pops are looking to mobilize celebrity performance and pop cultural influence to drum up voter
enthusiasm.
Well, that's what we are here, right?

Both parties have used celebrity influence to attract enthusiasm within the electorate.
The Republican National Convention, oh, I was there in Milwaukee included performances
by Kid Rock, but Trump called him Bob, Bob Lee Greenwood, you know, proud to be an American
guy.
And Chris Jansen and celebrity appearances from Amber Rose, I didn't know she was a celebrity.
It's being buried to Kanye, make you celebrity, Hulk Hogan, and Chris Lee knows best TV personality,
Savannah, Chris Lee, guess I missed that one, too.
Now Kamala HQ has 3.2 million followers on TikTok, while Trump has 9.8 million, and
Vance has 126,400, and while Trump has more followers, the Harris campaigns videos have
more than twice the number of likes indicating a higher engagement rate.
That's what they say in the social media worlds.

That license plate, I took a picture of yesterday, I hate the GOP.
It's on the devil's advocate's Facebook page, and I did tweet it out.
But on Facebook, we had like, we had as many people look at that little photo and comment
like her, whatever, it's attended the Kamala Harris rally in, uh, O'Claire yesterday,
or Wednesday pardon me.
Now here's what Alison Van Dyse 47 attendee at the O'Claire rally said, it just makes sense
to pair music with such a great platform.
She considered herself a Bonneveye fan and attended the first year, Vernon's O'Claire Music
Festival in 2015.
Vernon who was born in O'Claire and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, O'Claire,
Go Blue Gold, wrote much of his band's first album for Emma forever ago from his father's
Wisconsin Cabin.
Three musicians, uh, three musicians came out of the woodwork in support of her.
And I think that says a lot about what a great sacrifice president Biden made in stepping
down.
And also Harris taken the lead now Bonneveye has a history of political engagement, including
performances for Bernie Sanders, my guy in 2016 and 2020 in a 2018 show in Madison supporting
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin.
Vernon also spearheaded the four Wisconsin voting initiative that launched in 2020.
And after playing tower 666 and flume, she had known that 666 song.
The band finished with an interpretation, and this was my favorite part, uh, Justin
Vernon, Vernon is got a really unique voice, high register sort of voice, but he did his own
sort of unique interpretation of the battle cry of freedom.
The Civil War era song written by the rallying cry for unionism and abolition for him to
come back and support the Democratic Party like this.
It's really impressive.
Vendice said of Vernon.
He's been like this for as long as the Chippewa Valley has known him.
Yeah.
Good guy.
I don't know him, but I feel like I got to stand near a greatness.
I got to observe him.
And the fact that he came and saw the staff at the hotel where he's an investor, uh, the
the front desk lady, very proud to tell me, yeah, Justin came by yesterday, checked on
us.
I mean, that's the sort of guy that is what Joe say.
You know, I want to look at the life they lead.
If someone's going to influence me, shouldn't I look at the example they set, the kind of
person they are?
Well, this guy obviously doing okay financially, he's a major investor.
Someone said to me, oh, it's half of, oh, Claire at this point, but he's putting his money
where his mouth is and he is making efforts to stand behind a party that stands with
the people.
And I would say that is the Harris Walls campaign.
And we're going to talk about Tim Walls in the way he is governed in the state of Minnesota
and perhaps that is something to be emulated nationally.
And also the attacks on Tim Walls, I've got Adam Kinzinger, he has a former Republican
congressman.
We've got some sound for him.
We're going to be indulgent.
We're going to play you like a four-benic cut of Adam Kinzinger, just not going to cover
off the ball, giving you every reason why this attack, this swift boating of Tim Walls
is unfounded and really inappropriate.
