Exploring Politics, Religion, and Social Issues with Keith Parris
Community Voice · Thu Oct 15, 2026
Good morning. Welcome to Community Voice. I'm your host, Keith Pearce. I want to thank everyone for joining us this morning. The speech pathology is being off, man. I see. What's happening, Clark? Who you with? I'm with the people. Apostle. Bishop, chairman of the board. Apostle. Apostle. Let me do this.
The Milwaukee Courier is doing a very special tribute edition. Salute your beloved veteran in our commemorative issue on November the 7th. Again, the cost is $50 includes photo, name, rank, and military branch. Submission deadline is Friday, October 30th at 12 p.m. You can contact Carmen McGee at karman.mcgee at civicmedia.us or you can call 414.
four, four, nine, five, four, nine, zero. So if you want to honor a veteran in your family on Veterans Day, and you get to get the picture out, they'll be part of the commemorative edition of the Milwaukee Courier. So I am not saying Mike Mayo and what with the mayor. Let me do this and then I'll get to that. You can do this or you can do that.
You can do this. You can do that. Jermaine, play this clip. And listeners, I'd like you to kind of help me out with this, because I was watching. You know, I always say that part of my professional responsibility is having to watch many of the speeches that the president does. And so yesterday, it was no exception. It was in Boulderhead. Where is it? That was on it. In Arizona yesterday.
So play this for me, and then I like the... Okay. As we sit here, let me, and then... All right. You ready, Clark? All right. That's a lot of weight for anybody. That's a lot of weight. I hate flies. I don't like flies. What the hell did they put on this thing? All right. Stop it there and run it back. Okay. That's a lot of weight. I hate flies.
I don't like flies. What the hell did they put on this thing? All right, one more time. It's pretty buddy. That's a lot of weight. I hate flies. I don't like flies. What the hell did they put on this thing? All right. Did anybody have the same reaction I had? Yeah. So when he asked the question,
What do they put on the stand to attract the flies? Phone lines are open. 414-444-525-0. 414-444-425-0. What do flies attract it to? Boo-boo. I know. Sugar, honey, I see. And if you ask me. 414. 525-0. And it wears out. What are flies attracted to? Man, listen. Y'all help me out with this one.
When I sat there yesterday and I'm going, I know what my reaction was. Your breath banging. Yeah, no, you know, because there's some. Garbage. And flies really, have you ever been to a farm? And you can see where horses, mules, cows have done. What's usually flying around? Flies. I'm flying as they out there moving.
Flies recognized. So you're honey iced tea? Looks like we do. Yeah. Yeah. Because if you heard the speech all you was getting was some beer. Yeah. I saw that man and my first reaction was well they attracted to yeah and that's what you've been talking about. I mean everything from
You know, if you so, I don't know why he got this thing for Obama, but you know, somebody pointed out he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. You still won't let people see your grades when you at the University of Pennsylvania. So I mean, it's unfortunate on so many different levels and that this is what happens, but this is democracy.
So, I have a question for you, Keith. Why is it when Floyd got up to talk, that fly wasn't bothering him? Kind of makes you go. Call and welcome to the program. Good morning.
Good morning to answer your question. And in the famous words of Lil Scrappy. Not Lil Scrappy. Not Lil Scrappy. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Her eyes are attracted to Sydney IE.
I love how profound we get on this program. I love, I love, I love the literary cultural references that we get on this program. But man, oh yeah, that was, that was my thing. I didn't even think about a little scrappy, you know.
Oh, God. Man, you can't make it up. No, you can't. You can't make it up. It happens in real time. And the fly was by his mouth. Right. So, you know, the fly knew that it was a bunch of boo-boo coming out of his mouth because he stayed right there, man. And when Mayweather got up, the fly went with Trump. Like, I'm standing over here by Trump.
Boy, I call a welcome to the program. Good morning. Good morning. Thank you for taking my call. You're welcome. I will be so glad. Turn the radio down, please. Okay.
I'll be glad when the election is all over. Can you hear me? Yes. And these commercials are ridiculous. Even when they say this is not AI, this is what really happened. All of it is just such garbage. It doesn't make any sense.
And the next thing that's so disturbing about Trump and what's going on, uh-oh, is that not before or this is Friday? At least I was thinking about it. You know, it seemed like since we got rid of AI and probably before that.
It's such an insane jealousy of African-Americans till it's not even funny. Number one, they tried to hold us back from reading and learning. Everything there is, we have excelled in it. Our race has excelled in it. Period. We're so ignorant, but yet, in each one of the times they went to the moon and whatever they did, it was always a black person present.
on that team, was it not? Are people looking at what's going on? Are they just believing in what kind of people are following him? Does it make any sense to anyone? Who's questioning what's going on? And I'm hoping that we take the time to get out and vote and exercise our power.
and get the office stand out. So we all have to work across the aisle. Does that make sense to anyone listening? Yeah, let me talk about some BS. Has anybody been watching the Brian Stiles commercials? Anybody seen Brian Stiles commercial? Yeah. Okay, he did a couple of things. First of all, he tried it out as new wife. But then... Oh wait a minute, he had a new wife?
Yeah, he just got married. Just got married. Wait, wait now. Talking about Ryan Stiles represents. I don't know. I should pull up my phone. No, he's he's the current U. S. Representative racing Kenosha, Walworth County. But he's running this thing and it's and I saw this with some of the Tom Tiffany signs. Normally, the Republican signs are red. Tom Tiffany signs are blue.
Right then Brian style says well party doesn't really matter No, no what I'm getting to is he was saying the party doesn't really matter, right?
even though he is one of the most partisan congressmen in Congress. If Congresswoman Gwen Moore will she will tell you he has voted with Trump 100% of the time. He has trumpeted a lot of Trump's ideas and proposals. So for him all of a sudden to fall back because whether people
See this little piece of it. The Republican brand is tarnished. It's tarnished because of Donald Trump. So you're seeing a lot of Republicans trying to run. Hey, we're just in the middle, work across the aisle, guys. No, you're not. You never was. You never will be. So I think that people need to understand that one, that that whole brand identification piece where there's a lot of people who don't want to be associated because look, there are some people who find what Trump is doing is repugnant, but they're still going to vote for him.
Okay, but my okay, you know something. No, no, what some of them are going to do because they're that's their family history. They're Republican. They said rather than the vote Democrat, they're not going to vote at all, which means that this is a turnout or election. And I just saw something where it says that compared to 2022, about 80,000 less voters have early voted.
Now, this compared to 2022 at this time. I don't know if that's Democrats. I don't know if that's Republicans. Now, it seems that this current trend is that Democrats tend to vote early, right? Republicans will tend to vote the day of. That's why Trump was so against mail-in ballots.
and mail-in voting, even though he does mail-in voting. And I don't know what that trend, I don't know who it is. That's the fear. That's why Trump is going to Arizona, Alaska, Montana, Ohio. These are states that he won because they're thinking that a whole lot of people, as opposed to voting for a Democrat, and they understand the policies of the Trump administration and the Trump Congress, that they would just not vote at all.
And my thing is this, surely they can see how our country has changed. If the hatred's so bad, they want it to be a dictator situation. Don't they know when he gets pissed off with them, you're just like anybody else, just like his son's ex fiance. I knew that they were using her in the first place.
No, they were trying to bury her. They were trying to bury her. That's why he sent her to Greece. They didn't know that she would be going. And here's the thing. All the people, not all, that's perjury. Many of the people around him were doing the very thing that she has done. Right? Okay. You know, where they're going up, they're grifting. You know, they're doing the same thing. The difference is hers was made public.
Right, what's the difference between Trump using Homeland Security funds to fund these campaign Promotions supposedly promote in America Chris don't get the same thing and lost her job There's a great article in the New York Times this morning about most of the departures that you've seen from the Trump administration or women Another thing there is another older guy in the Senate
where he missed so many days and he said that he has been under mental stress. And if a lot of them, those older ones, I don't believe, I think some of them aren't campaigning as hard as they should and they don't know how to get out. So Republicans, help them out. Don't vote for them. They don't want the job anymore and they're not mad enough to tell Trump that.
They've done enough damage to our country. And look at the people that have been taken off of this food share. Look at the number that's going down. But remember I told you, or told the listening audience, because I've worked in this field, what they do is they make the criteria more difficult for people to qualify. And then by doing that, they reduce the roles, right? They make it difficult for us. They also make it difficult for their own.
It's just as many poor people up north and all around as it is down here in Milwaukee in Central City. It's just as many uneducated people up there and jobs are not good. And when you look at David Crawley and what he's had to do, be creative to try to make ends meet and balance his budget with the
kibbles and bits that they get from us, the ones that are financing this whole thing, you go to your legislator. And I think we need to all go up to Madison and help them campaign when one of those guys is up for election and put somebody up against them. It needs to be changed. You have to get to the root of the problem. And it's not, and the way they make him try to sound so dumb and stupid.
It doesn't make any sense. I don't know why anybody, but can I say this? I don't know why anybody surprised at that. If we look at history, we will find that that is when you don't, when you can't run on the issues, then you begin to sling mud. Tom Tiffany cannot run on the issues. He knows he can't run on the issues. So what do you do?
You go in, it was funny to hear county exec Crowley yesterday talk about, they couldn't make him any darker. He said they couldn't make him any darker.
That came with the pigeon. When OJ was going through his thing, OJ got so dark, you go like, oh, and that's what they do. But it's not just with black candidates, you know, because I watch the ads and if they ever want to vilify you, they make you darker, right? Because of all of the internalized racism.
that we have like I heard I love this quote sister say we are recovering from white supremacy right so is is there you automatically go to this whole thing about uh what we use but I'm not surprised I mean and I think you're gonna get worse before it gets better because yeah one they understand they're in a tough race right that's why they're pouring millions of dollars into this
Did you see what happened to the guy that was running somewhere and he was trying to blame it on the Democrats and the audience and laughed at him? Yeah, he was that the cost of it. Look, the numbers are just what they were. And now they do the comparison. Right now, the inflation rate or the rise of inflation is where it was under Joe Biden. Joe Biden was bringing it down under Donald Trump. The war, the tariffs.
Right? All these things are raising the cost. And that's what people, and so people know that when they go to the gas station, when they go to the grocery store, I know what this dude is saying, but I know what I'm experiencing. It was like when Vice President Harris had come on and we had this conversation and, you know, she was talking about the economy because that's what the Biden administration was trying to do. I said, well, on a macro level, you correct. But on a micro level,
It's a different experience and all of us are on the micro level. So that's crazy because number one, we're the ones that have to make the boat. And I thought Walmart was going to bring its prices down. I've been grocery shopping all over the place. It's ridiculous how much stuff costs now. And those little snack cakes and things, it is ridiculous how much that stuff costs. I saw an ad that I think they're running in Iowa.
Where the woman who's running for Senate was because the cost of beef is so high find another form of protein, right? And so you got this white dude grilling He said no, I'm not gonna find another protein. I'm gonna find another candidate to vote for senator I thought oh man, so I mean it's it's out there you would normally have Where a newly elected president the first midterm after that election will lose seats
in the house, right? I mean, that happened to Obama. It certainly happened to Obama because Obama had passed Obamacare. So we're going to do this, but there's so much self-inflicted damage that's being done primarily by Donald Trump to the Republican brand. That's why they're running away from it, right? They helped him do that. So they needn't blame it all on him because they weren't man enough to stand up and go against him.
But they were just two chickens. But I know all I know is this. If we don't stop the bleeding, and if people want to sit this out, don't complain. Because we have an opportunity now to show them who's boss. We're not stupid. You don't even have to do critical thinking to know that our country is screwed up.
And then what about the execution that they wanted to do? And then they felt it would be a shameful to shoot a man in a wheelchair. The guy that they were going to do this capital, whatever they want to call this, in mainstreaming. He was in a wheelchair? Is in a wheelchair? Yeah, the one that they wanted to have him shot.
He's in a wheelchair, so they think that would be a good look. All right, thank you. All right, thanks for taking my call. Critical thinking is how you know the country screwed up. Publicers knew that day was coming and yet they kept their mouths closed, right? I mean, you looked at what was expedient for you. You lost sight of the big picture.
And you've allowed this guy to go in and just do all kind of look there were there are a lot of Germans who thought Hitler was a good idea when he first ran But a lot of Germans
Right? I mean, you just see, you see the old rallies and it'd be packed with people. You know, how Hitler, how Hitler, only to find out he led them down to a road of destruction that took them years to recover from. That's why I find it interesting that you still can fly a Confederate flag in America when it was secession. It was treason.
And you're allowed to fly that symbol of that. Put a Nazi SWAT sticker up in Germany and see what happened to you. Right? All right, you're listening to Community Voice Caller. I see you. I'm going to grab you right after the break. We'll be right back.
Hey, good morning. I've been doing a lot of thinking here. Now, they've been talking about this migrant thing. But you know what I realized? They're always getting mad at the migrants. But they didn't get mad at the white folks for hiring them. And I said, well, why is that getting mad at the migrants? Because it wasn't under Democrats that was only hiring them. It was tons of Republicans that was hiring them.
And they didn't take no job from you, because first of all, they wasn't having you because he was a collard. So you can't get mad at the migrants. And then they say, they don't breathe, they don't breathe with you. Okay. You don't breathe with them. But you don't say nothing about them. But I do got a question for you.
I was going to ask you so kindly and respectfully, if you could have three special guests, a Dihar white supremacist, a Dihar conservative Jew, and a black Republican. Because the conservative Jew can tell you why he's the chosen one and why he don't need no DNA tax. The Dihar racist can say,
why this is his land. And then whatever Black people, well, he did Winky Blue. Because I do have three Republicans from three different stages, from three different categories. And then they can try to prove their point. And then we can see the ignorant with all of them. Because nobody has no legs to stand on. Because you have the die-hard white supremacists
He's just mad because he's been robbed all his life. The conservative Jew, he's the chosen one, and he could say why he feels slavery was okay, and then he could say why they use anti-Semitic as a crime, because they don't want to be criticized on the evilness, and then the black Republican can try to side to make both of them comfortable.
What do you think about that? It would be a fascinating conversation. I have had Eric Wallace on. Eric Wallace had talked, he wrote a book where he talked about how he feels the black church has politicized black folks. And I disagree with the premise on a couple of things. One, I don't think black churches have politicized black folks enough, okay?
And so, no, I think it would be a fascinating conversation, man. Appreciate you. All right, have a good though, because I would love to see that, because I'm going to drink that when you had that one. Have a good day. Me too. I'm going to have to. All right. And then I have to take a shower afterwards. Feels so dirty. Feels so dirty. Trump says Pentagon will not live screen fire. OK.
Of course it's not because there's been so overwhelmingly. That's the whole piece of it. And someone said that if you forced Americans to watch public executions, they might have a different opinion on the death penalty, you know, where people are kind of, you know, not only that Keith, but just the mental aspect of things like you don't know what that would do to somebody mental.
somebody get killed like that. Um it can affect the person mine like that. Yeah, huh? No, no, no, no, no, because before because before some people that when you see it, you can embrace it and then you become it. So, seeing stuff like that, you know, seeing it, it gets in you. Exactly. So, Robert Jeffries who is
Pastor first Baptist Dallas the Southern Baptist Convention was all in support of it. I Yeah, he's in support of the public viewing of the execution. I just think For me it has a lot to do with my Christian faith and That's why I opposed the death penalty
I don't think you can become the thing that you're allegedly trying to eliminate. Here's the other piece. States with the death penalty has no decrease in homicides. People are not sitting up here worried about if I'm trying to kill Jermaine, I'm gonna get the death penalty. I'm in the throes of whatever it is to have me out there killing. So it says a lot about how, and that's why I think some of these conversations we have
around religion are important conversations because our religion can be used to justify a lot of awful behavior. And I don't think religion should be used as a weapon against, especially when we talk about humanity. I thought when, and I'm thinking Pastor Washington, he was talking about the cross and the lynching tree.
I have been a, I have been a studier of Black liberation theology since I was 19 years old. And I do. How I look at the cross is very different now than our catechism, our dogma, right?
And I appreciate what Dr. Meyer said in terms of we need to understand why Jesus was crucified. And I think when, because the early symbol of the church was a fish, not the cross. The cross became a symbol of the church under Constantine, right? Who was Roman? And in my mind, a certain whitewashing of history as it
as it was related to the behavior of the Romans in Palestine. And that doesn't make God any less God. I know that their swaggered ministry, that was another reason why I kind of ran away from it, because they talk about the cross. I'm saying, dude, that's an object. It's an object. I understand what it symbolizes, but it's a symbol, it's an object.
My salvation is really my change of mind. That's my salvation, right when we use that word repent repent means to turn from that is my salvation Yes, Jesus died But we should not get lost in Jesus dying to forget that Jesus lived and what he Prophered when he lived See, that's the difficult part. That's why
being a practice in Christian can be very difficult because of the higher standard of behavior that Jesus talks about in terms of Christians and especially how we comport ourselves with each other. Isn't it amazing that a place built on unity or supposed to be unity of the Spirit is the most divided house in the world? I'm talking about the church. A house that's supposed to be built upon love and there's so much hate.
You know, so I think that when and so then it's easy to fall back into the rituals and but the rituals have no meaning. Paul talked about this. He said that, man, you could be the greatest thing in the world, but if you don't have love, it doesn't mean anything. Greatest musician in the world, greatest preacher in the world, right? But if you don't have love and love requires us to love for people who on its surface seems unlovable.
That's the higher call in the Christianity and so, you know, I can't be the person who will sit up and beat on people and when Al was talking about why do people go after the migrants because they're others and they've been allowed to be criminalized and demonized as a people, you know ask any Arab after 9 11 how they felt living in America Right, so we do this ask black people
So yeah, I I I Hear all of that and L. Thank you for not dropping the n-word. I can Floyd Mayweather nigga, please Okay Oh, he dancing he dancing with the president he he flew from on Air Force one from Vegas to Arizona man, please But okay
You do what you gotta do. Floyd, oh yeah, Floyd. I mean, that should be expected because Trump said he can stand up and say the stupidest things and they would clap for him. He also said he loves stupid people. So the people that's around him, he pretty much called y'all stupid before y'all even got around him. So
Yeah, I mean I can see Floyd in there saying that a man with one eye is king in a room full of blind people So when I sing a little clip the clip of Tyson he had like he was confused like he didn't know what was going on He was like I don't even I don't even know why I'm up here, but but I was listening to some meal I want to say the basement brothers somebody
podcast, they said that he delivered a letter to Trump for a diddy. And they asked him, he said, I just did what they asked him to. He told me to deliver the letter to. So what happened? Did he slip on some soap in the shower? No, he actually got hooked to making drug lord. Diddy mum.
They had a fight. Somebody snitched on him so he lost all of the super privileges that he had. Well, it was really NBC. Well, I'm just saying he was living like a king. He was living like a king. And then he slipped on some soap in the shower and lower and help us. Man, that drug lord, that Jamaican guy, he'd be puffy up because he said puffy was messing up.
to what was going on inside, you know, for people having contact from the inside. Because after that news article came out and the footage came out, the guards came through and did a sweep and they caught everybody with contraband. Oh, yeah. Got to get it right. And, uh, yeah. So right after that is when Puffy and his drug lord dude from Jamaica got into it on the yard. I don't know why anybody want to mess with anybody from Jamaica. Yeah. Cause you go and I say the same thing.
You probably don't want to be messing with anybody from Africa. See, in America, brothers, you know, we, we, we, we, we be, uh, what's perpetrating? We'd be profiling, you know, like, you, like, like, like, like, you, I'll leave, right? Uh-uh. These folks come from, that's why I love, I fell in love with Ihan Omar. When that dude came in and threw that on her, her first reaction was she went towards him. Yeah, she was, yeah. Cause they come from a different existence.
different existence man so we should have been do this but not man she she just I mean if if if Will Smith would have hit a Jamaican like he slapped Chris Rock man that show would have been over right they go into commercial they go into commercial
We wouldn't even see wheels. No, no, no wheel would be topped up in the box. And wait a minute, is he light bright too? Yeah. I mean, like a lot of these cats act like they want to smoke, but them cats don't. Uh-uh. Them cats will overseas really beat the smoke. Yeah. So you don't want none of that like this. Well, they say when you're hungry, you run hard. Yeah. You know, that's why the boxers are coming from third world countries and not coming from America. We eat in America.
They're not eating in the Philippines. Right. Right. You know, so that hunger that that was the desire we had when we were using boxing and athletics, right? Because we were hungry. Yeah. And and the a difference between our hunger and their hunger is the difference between a gremlin and a goblin. Yeah. See what I'm saying? That's exactly what I'm saying. So, I mean, when you were gremlin, yeah, you hungry and you'd say up some stuff. But when you were goblin, you go eat everything coming your way. Everything. In your in your way.
Everything is gonna man. Don't don't you know cuz there's some people out there you find out real quickly
was it Richard Pryor who talked about the dude when he crying and he kicking you behind? Oh, he's mad. No, but I'm actually he tears wearing you out. You get a person to that point when they think they're crying. You in trouble, man. Oh, man, just just just just crying. Emotions is coming out through your hands and your eyes. They ain't thinking about nothing, man, man. Nothing.
I'm gonna learn man. Don't write a check with your mouth. Your body can't cash. Man, I started to be so trite, but it's true. You know, my uncle Monty, he weighed like a buck 15, but he get out there and don't let him get a little something, something in him. Yo, now he got those beard muscles. And he get his head peeled one time. He got beat up so bad. He talking crazy about what he did.
And my mama just looked at me and she said, yeah, everybody had an axe but you. Where was your axe? Hey, let me do this, man. Throwback, throwback. I have Dr. Anthony Ross, who is at the University of Missouri.
He was on our program, oh man, before he took the job, he had just taken the job in Missouri, March of 2020. And you know, we were on, he does supply chain. So we were talking about supply chain, da-da-da. We didn't know what was really affecting supply chain was COVID-19, because we were talking about this particular city in China. When he was in town this weekend and we had the opportunity to go out and have breakfast with him and it was great. I don't know how he, and y'all just throw back, tell me if y'all know anything about this.
He came in and he talked about and I hope I'm remembering the name of this television Was it Curtis Mathis? Curtis Mathis or Fisher Y'all remember Curtis Mathis? Yeah, I had a Curtis Mathis if you had a Curtis Mathis
I'm pissed off the day cause my wife let that Curtis master flow. Man. That's something with like, like a Kirby vacuum cleaner. Yeah. When he dropped that, man, I looked at him and he said, Oh, let me explain. So we explained to me how this family got one. But do y'all remember Curtis Mathis? And when you heard saw that advertising on TV, you could have had a Zena. You could have had a Motorola. You could have had an RCA. But you had Curtis Mathis. Yes. You had some bank. Yeah.
We had that man. We had one man flow model work just to find like a brand new man Curtis math is like Sony You know so anybody don't know if anybody remember you remember now right out. You don't remember that dude. Yeah, okay fishing
And I don't know how many people that was their starter stereo component set was Fisher. I'm gonna tell you cuz cuz we had a fish and we had the one with the TV and the stereo on top of
You know what? They had to stay in the good room. You know the room that you can't go in and let the bastard somebody... My grandmother's living room, the good room. The rest of the house is told off by Dr. Good Room.
That good room would be like an oasis in the desert of, oh man, the good room. You can't even go there with those shoes on. Oh my god, that was where all the furniture is coming to plastic. Only the past can come in there. Only the past can walk in there with those shoes on no matter what.
Keep at the giggles today. Hey, man, I laugh to keep from crying. I laugh to keep from oh man, the good room boy Clark you be coming up. But yeah, when he dropped Curtis math, I was like, dude,
man you really are talking about um oh man you're talking you're talking some money
Okay. Let me also do this disclaimer. We are having some technical difficulties. Keep calling. That's how we work out the bugs, right? 4144445250. Did he smoke before the show? I don't know who they refer to. Come on. Have you ever done Community Voice? Oh, really? Community Voice. We're going to take a walk to the car. We'll be right back.

ready to greet anyone coming in company. So back in the day it used to be called the Great Room. Wow, now see, I know some of our other relatives refer to it as the Great Room. But on one of the ACT tests, this was years ago, they asked what room in the house did the family gather? Now,
How could you get what what is the right answer? It depends on your family, but what was it in your house? In my house We in the den that's where the television and all that was and we would gather in there So did y'all have like the good room the great room the living room
We had the living room, but you know, you didn't go in the living room because that was for companies and people coming in. That was a, I want to tell you one thing about our house. It was five kids and every room was clean. Okay. Cause my father didn't play that neither did my mother. And we couldn't even sit on our bed. You, you made that bed up and that room had to be clean.
And if you didn't put your toys back in the toy box, they went in the garbage. Was your dad military? Yeah. Yep. There you go. Can't sit on the rack during the day in basic training. You can't sit on your bunk. So yeah, okay. Okay. But then my next question was the brainstorming meeting. Is it on the 24th? That is the 4th Saturday. Yeah, I think it is 4th Saturday. Yeah. And when the church was
they're going to be moving. I sincerely pray that they keep the church on 9th Street as a community center, and we continue to have our meetings there. One of the problems though, and this was pointed out to me by one of the parishioners, and I know it's been my experience. It is not really handicapped accessible. And I don't know what the cost would be to retrofit it.
You can get in and get out. I mean that that is and one of the problems my understanding they have their same Matthew is that it's considered an historic landmark So because of that because of the age of that church it makes it more complicated in terms of things No, no, no, they can't but I'm sure there's a there's a cost to that because you talked about major Reconstruction, I tell you someone else who also really has that problem
is Galilee because Galilee and they have an elevator Yeah, but they have those stairs They have an elevator right so I'm just saying but you look at those stairs because you know that was an old Jewish synagogue You know and so we really great grand buildings and So yeah, but I yeah, you know you remember Curtis Mathis television. Oh, yeah
I do remember that. Oh, I'm dating myself. When he dropped it on me, I was like, hmm, good, that is. And you know, it's the next thing that I would have missed. When they talk about how picnic black and how Trump has this, really, what did they do to that museum in Washington? I did have an opportunity in my family and husband and I to go up there because he's in the military and you got first presence.
getting in there. You were able to get in because of that. I hid at the line or whatever. But anyway, what did they do because they closed it? No, it's what they do with all the artifacts. They didn't close it. They didn't close it. So you say it's still it's still open. Yeah, they were going in trying to change some of the exhibits, but it's still open. But I noticed I used to contribute to it every year. Yeah.
And it's like, I get stuff from the Indians and from everybody else. And so what I'm going to do is start contributing to the Obama Museum. And I can't wait to get over there, but they're booked. It's funny. We told Kennedy that we're going to take her down, right? And it was something I was asking her, and she goes, the Obama Center? Said, no, but I'm glad it's still on your mind.
Yeah, so hopefully maybe next year, when she's on break, we'll take her down. I know we took her, took her, her mom and her uncle down to see the King Tut exhibit. They still remember that. And a lot of the day, really, it was more for me than them. But... Yeah, that's the way you get through it, so you know what I'm saying. Yeah, that's the geek part of...
When I worked at Camp Wickham, we went up to, it's called the New Ice Age Center in the Kettle Moraine. He talks about how the Kettle Moraine is formed. Those kids were knocked out sleep. Ooh, ooh, ooh, really? Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. So appreciate it, appreciate you. And I did see you at the last brainstorming I was there. Right, and then I do have one other question.
And I'm hoping some whites are listening. We are so ignorant and don't know anything. But yet nobody can outdo Obamacare. No one can even take a crack at giving health insurance like he did. Now, what about that? Have a great day. Right. And that's why Obama's a lot more popular in places like West Virginia and Kentucky and Ohio than people realize because of what he did.
In terms of expanding access in rural areas to health care Right. I mean that that that was one of the things that he did and I know his advice is David Axelrod Love this and don't let it call Obamacare. He said no Call it I own up to it. But when you think about the Social Security Act of 1935 you think about the
Medicare 1965 Medicare Medicaid and then when you think about the Affordable Care Act in terms of and when I hear people talk about socialism Okay, this this is a great example of socialism where there's a benefit to the majority of people You know everybody was complaining about health care and health care cost and access to health care and then he actually put it together now
The Dems took a beating. I think he lost something like 42 seats. He took a beating but I think in the long term the long-term good and now you're seeing where you know Republicans are nibbling away, you know one of the things was under when we're going through the whole COVID pandemic and the expansion of people being able to take advantage of subsidies under Joe Biden, right? So you know and and and if
You know, we complained about the inflation on the Biden, but one of the things that drove that inflation was the fact that the government had pumped so much money into the economy, so the economy would not fail, right? Those people I haven't heard from John in a while, you saw John, but that's Kenzie and economics where, you know, the government has an obligation to step in if
When they build out AIG and people going, why are you building out AIG? And they were saying that AIG was too big to fail because so many things in the economy was going through AIG. If AIG failed, the economy was going to fail. And I find that amazing, again, for my Republican friends who rail on about socialism, but when you're building out businesses, that's socialism. And they don't have any problem taking checks.
There was no major corporation that that was eligible for the PPP loans that didn't take advantage of the PP long program So, you know, but it's it's always when it's somebody else's it's It's it's an issue You know fellas, I'm I'm trying to figure out this this this referendum question. I mean I've already voted
But I found that when Pastor Galman was on and she had made the statement that it wasn't the government that made her decide to close down the church, it was her concern for the health of her parishioners. And I think a lot of people once they began to understand the spread took that position.
Michelle said something, and she said it, and she does it in her presentation, where she asked the question, should the church be more powerful than the government? And from a governance, I would say no. I think what the First Amendment allows is not only the freedom of religion, but the freedom from religion. And people say, well, what are you talking about?
where you cannot, like when people say we should have prayer in school, to have prayer in school would be a recognition of religion, regardless of the religion. And whether or not in that public space, you know, that should be allowable. That's something that we should have or posting of the 10 commandments in schools, in public schools.
I do believe, and I think, and maybe it is my experience, working for government, that there are times that government not only has the right but has the responsibility to say, hey, here's what we need to do. And I basically save us from us. But I understand that it can also create a slippery slope because then it might be, can government then come in and tell you how to worship? Who to worship?
Where to worship and in some ways government does right Michelle pointed that out when you have to do zoning put churches in like if I want to put a church on a strip mall I need to get a zone zoning variants because that's commercial, right? churches are usually in residential areas But I you know, I I understood the now look I understand that this is some BS like they could really care less
about, but it's a bone that you would throw to certain people. But then I underestimated how black people would look at it because, you know, there's some, and that's not just black folks. I would say that there's others too. Certainly the fundamentalists, the Pentecostals, epistolics, white folks who, and again,
When I listened to Donnie Swagger just going on and on about how the government shut us down and the whole thing, you didn't go out of business. And if the statistics are to be believed, and I didn't get any contradiction, I didn't get a contradiction from Pastor Galvin when he came down to, in many instances, church giving was up. Church giving was up.
And I remember doing the, you know, doing the throws of the pandemic. I was talking to a contractor. He said, Keith, you know what? I'm doing a whole lot of work right now. Go where, bro? He said, in churches, right? Churches took advantage of the government program to make sure they stayed afloat. So I just thought it was fascinating when you kind of took that question out and really do it.
and have this whole thing about society. America, in spite of what Meach tries to proffer, was not formed as a Judeo-Christian nation. America was purposely secular. America was purposeful. So if you're a Christian in America, that is the majority religion. Most Americans
Either practice Christianity come from Christian roots in terms of religion When Meach would call in and start talking about you don't want the Muslims Running running your thing because they're gonna bring in Sharia law. I Got white conservative Christian Nationalists who are bringing in this this almost equivalent to a Sharia law when they get to tell people
You know, tell a woman what she should do with her body or to tell people who they can love, right? Or even tell parents, you know, like I was listening to and that's why those flies were all on Trump yesterday because of the hundreds of lies he can do in one particular speech. What a gift. But he was talking about how in Minnesota they could take your kid and then go in and do a sex change without your permission.
That ain't true. It ain't true. But there are people out there who have a problem with trans. Anytime they hear that, it triggers. And I heard someone talk about this, and here's a little short political science lesson. It's called trigger language. Certain words will trigger a certain response and reaction from people, right? So you can say certain things, and people have a certain reaction.
Okay, let me give you a great example men and women sports. Oh We lose our mind as if we have all these men trying to participate in women's sports It's not true. It doesn't happen but Surprisingly in the 2024 election. It was an important issue for some folks. Oh
Whoa, that's kind of where we are. I love that when we started this whole program off about critical thinking. And here's the key word, not critical, thinking. Not feeling, not believing, thinking. Free your mind. Call her. I got to call her. No? Call her. We'll go to the program. Good morning.
Hey, good morning, big brother. Oh, I talked to you up. Yeah, now you called on me. You wanted me to come. You really kept saying, Meach, Meach. You wanted me to come. You ain't the only Meach in the world? Yeah, well, you would explain things that I specifically might have talked about. Listen, brother, in that deal about closing your choices, like I just told Michelle,
It's not talking about a pandemic per se. It says an event of an emergency. Do you understand how broad that is, man? Do you understand how broad that is, Reverend? That's broad. That means it could be anything. They could, they could declare a martial law deal and we all have to huddle to the church, man, and get our scruples together and you'd be arrested and poured over in jail or whatever. But if they, if they declared martial law, they could close the churches. Am I correct?
Well, but you could we would be there as a gathering brothers. No, I'm asking you if they declare if they declare martial law, they suspend some of your civil rights. That's why martial law is so rarely declared because you're basically telling people now you're giving up some of your and one of those rights could be the right to assemble. That's when that's when the church can stand up with an argument.
But you can't do that. And I'm gonna tell you something, man. This is put on Wisconsin's deal. And you know, Wisconsin is a crash dummy state. Usually we're fly. They test out stuff here and then it goes almost viral everywhere. We were the first, we had the first election in that little pandemic thing. And they looked at it and guess what? I've seen it in the next big election. They used the same thing that Wisconsin did, you know, all over the country. What was that?
the mail in ballots and the whole deal, the way that they did that, the way that they set that pandemic voting process up, they did it all over the country. They had more, more voting locations open because Barrett really shut it down for us. I guess that was to win the, win that mad because I really, I really want to lean into the win that deal. I worked extra hard for that good old man.
And he was a brother that was working extra hard for it, too. And they killed him over there. And looking at the video, that looked like a whiteboard man riding a bike. And he was all wrapped up and bandaged up, looked like the mommy man, went up to the brother and killed him. And the brother was, he was for Trump and he was for Lena Taylor. We had the dreadlocks on. We had a dude in right there off of white and Humboldt.
And the building is still there with some of these artifacts still in there. You know, so I don't know if it's under, you know, some kind of, you know, might be under some kind of probate or something with the family. But anyways, man, when everything's denied and let the government, they shouldn't even be, that shouldn't even be on the thing. That should, that should just be something that should have been put into law and kept it moving. You can't mess with that church, man. When you start messing with that church, you messing with church. How they messing with the church, Leitch?
By saying that he can be closed man Because of an emergency because of an emergency Because of an emergency if that's what the emergency might require your but my buddy everybody else But to be there in that place of in that gathering and a place to gather man. I don't know what is happening to you brother But you know and you something that you got too far into theology and what it was is that you started seeking the truth King
and you already have been given it and you were seeking it for. What truth was already given? Huh? What truth was already given? The truth that's great-grandmothers, mom and all of us. Okay, can you be more specific? Well, Christianity, it is entirely. You see, all of it might be wrong, brother, but what they gave me is what they gave me. So you're telling me, you're telling me, that as black people living in America, we got total Christian truth?
Brother, the black folk living in America got total Christian truth. And let me say this to you. I know you want to see once you start looking into the book, you recognize something about the book. The book ain't about the Europeans, man. You know, I've said this many times. The word Ethiopian, Ethiopian, Christian, Hamite, all these different, over 700 times mentioned in that book.
What I'm asking you is... What I'm saying to you, well, that certainly wasn't taught to any of my ancestors that anybody in the Bible was African. I know that look. It wasn't taught to my mama.
And it certainly wasn't being taught in the churches that you were growing up in. It wasn't. It wasn't being taught in a corporate setting in most places. They didn't, you know, and that was, that's why they got white Jesus pictures and white Moses in the Bible to show their self reign superior over us. But why we didn't create our own? Because we get in trouble for creating our own. We get in trouble. We get in trouble. You asked a question. We get in trouble.
We get in trouble for practicing ancient African religion. Because you do know that we worship, we worship, we worship the Creator long before we got to these shores. You do know that, correct? Of course. Okay. Okay. Of course. I mean, what do you think? You have an argument out of the truth with me. I don't fight the truth, brother. Okay, bro. I'm just saying. So when you're not ready to cast your vote.
Yes, I have closed the Lord's house down Making you imagine standing in judge or judgment and you in the law is that you? You were part of closing my worship now. Can I? So can I? No, no, wait a minute Jesus spoke up on this He talked about this whole thing he said that you know Sabbath was created for the man not
Not man for the Sabbath, right? Okay. Okay. So in other words, we're not slaves to the Sabbath. We're not slaves to going to church, right? It was created for us. And if there's an instance and look, if your worship of God is only contained to a building that you go into, I mean that that that is. It also says for Satan.
not to assemble yourself. Jesus didn't say that. Paul said that. Okay, but still brother, that's the matter. Okay, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Did you hear me say that? Did you hear me say that? You didn't hear me say that? No. No, I'm just saying that what should be given, what should be given supremacy? What should be given supremacy? The teachings of Jesus? The teachings of Paul? Paul's commentary plays a great part. That's Paul's commentary, man.
Paul Paul wasn't an apologist, but Paul wasn't the little Richard of Christianity Jesus I got all of that I got all of that, but if you're a Christian you should be following the teachings of Jesus Okay, but we got a preacher
and Paul is one of the missionaries. Okay. I mean, you're preaching. You want people to follow what you say, right? No, I, well, I want people to hear what I say. No, I want people to hear what I say and then people will make a decision on then how to apply that to their life. Hey, that's a commentary man. We are, it's all good. It was inspired by God.
When you quit believing in that then take your book. Hey look, you seen the gay Bible. Have you seen the queer Bible man? No, is there a queer Bible? Geno genies burnt it up on stage. Geno genies is a hateful, bigoted, misogynistic, gay Bible that exists. I wouldn't got it man. They done turned the whole Jesus around into everybody. Isn't that man is fruity in the booty man. Okay.
Just being the devil's advocate here with the emphasis on advocate
I'm mad with the white Bible man. Okay, okay. So, you know, it's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's
Well, I understand. Look, the first black Jesus I was seeing a guy by the name of Willie Krishna, draw it in Walpaw, and the parties wound up with the picture. Then Newton, uh... We have such a black Jesus at this point. What I was born up as a kid. His nephew draws the next black Jesus, and I put thousands of copies of him. Well, now we only had a limited edition of 1000, so I put hundreds of copies of that black Jesus.
all around. And I sponsored that, I sponsored, I would sponsor Black Art for a long time. Alright man, I appreciate that. I gotta do a break, man. Yeah, I gotta get out of here too, but if you want a picture of a real Black Jesus that you probably saw on the original too, and I'll get you a copy of the best, the real deal. Okay. See you later. Alright. What was that cartoon they did on Black Jesus? Didn't they have a cartoon on Black Jesus? Yeah, come on the Cartoon Network. Yeah, on Black Jesus. You're listening to Community Voice.
Yes, happy to don't us. There's a queer Bible Thank you Jesus We'll take a quick break. We'll be right back I heard a black Caesar But black Jesus now let me if I can correct the historical record there were no black Caesars all the Caesars were
White, they were Roman. They won Caesar. Call them to the program. Oh, talk about time. He talked about me before the show. I was going to call you anyways. Hey, you ever see those where they match up a keto and hard style karate? These guys did just kind of match them up. And then we really see the two individuals at their best.
And it still, of course, depends on the individual. Have you ever seen that kind of match up on YouTube or something like that? No, no, I haven't. They're pretty incredible. It's kind of embarrassing for who it was worth. And I'm sure you could imagine that the boxers are not necessarily good followers, but the Aikido guy is not necessarily a good boxer, of course. So it's two entirely different things. So like a football player, good at waiting, but not necessarily the basketball player. When you fall on a hard mat and on a hard basketball.
the court. Would you agree? Hello? Can you hear me? Yeah. Oh, did you hear what I said about football players going to be more like a Judo player who's good at rolling? Or is the basketball player who might have a little harder time on the hard floor? Would that make sense to you? Yeah, and both, you know, it's funny because you talk about that in Judo karate and professional wrestling, they teach you how to fall. They teach you how to fall, so then you distribute
that force throughout your body and you're not just taking it all in one area. It's how you fall, yep. Right, and then you agree that karate people don't specialize in following the digital people. It's so vital and you know. So then this is the way I think politics is too. If we're having a discussion like earlier, Al called me and said, I'd be glad to have a conversation and you said it too. I would be glad to have a conversation with you guys anytime, all the time.
You classify yourself as a conservative Jew? Yeah, sort of modern, not technically in the sense that I'm always an applicant. It's a constant learning. It's called modern Orthodox and semi-hubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbubbub
and that world council church. So I know that from the inside. That was my childhood. But I saw we all raised pro-Arab like we're all cousins. So the whole thing is funny because I was going to be sympathetic with all the human rights. That's the term we learned as kids in both the progressive Lutheran and Jewish. So it's to me, this whole thing that's like Al Constantine saying this negative stuff by Jews is that they've got this problem with the rest of the world. That's not what Judaism teaches.
Look, I agree with you, John. Look, anti-Semitism is real. And I am not going to minimize anti-Semitism. But when we start talking about collective behavior, i.e., a nation or nations, that's a different discussion, you know? So, I mean, you can be critical of America and not anti-American just because you're critical.
of America, America, Israel, South Africa, Mozambique. No one is above that political critique, you know, and how the world reacts to certain things. But I'd be the first to tell you that anti-Semitism is real. I'd be the first to acknowledge the pain of the Jewish people. But I want the Jewish people to also acknowledge the pain of African people.
the pain of Asian people, the pain of First Nation people in the Western Hemisphere, because the pain is pain. I agree. So then when I say things about the Arab Empire, I notice you didn't say anything right this minute. And the pain of Africans under the Arab Empire right this minute, the Arab enslaved, enslaved persons, if you want to call it, Arab enslaved persons, fresh and old, hundreds of years and generations.
Black progressives don't want to talk about that. Black radicals just cannot talk about that. It's like it's an impossible conversation. Because I think that it is. Even though you just said you wanted to. Yeah, but I'm saying if it moves us and maybe even having that conversation about Palestine, if it moves us to a solution. The real solution. Go ahead, Charlie. Look, but I'm just saying and if you talk, I know you talk a lot about
the current contemporary african enslavement i will make the statement that i made i believe that enslavement has always been wrong i believe that enslavement has always been immoral regardless of who the enslaver was and regardless of even what the bible says enslavement is wrong because that's a dehuman it's a dehumanization of other human beings and so it
But I understand that that's the way of the world. That's the world that we live in. You conquer people. You enslave them. You control them. You subjugate them. They'll make it right just because it happens on a regular. Okay, so on that note, wouldn't it be important, like I've wondered and asked, do you think there's no vampire? You actually said something really excellent. There's different lanes. I thought that is the perfect launch pad because that trains it really well.
Even though state-ism has a speaking world, each is as different from maybe as the people who are opposite different from Palestine, different from Iraq, but they're part of in their street, what they call the Arab street. They don't figure themselves as different. They send themselves on it. But why if it's the so-called Arab street or what?
What was it? Nassar was trying to do what in some ways though, we found out that that was failed. Uh, who's my guy? Uh, Gaddafi was trying to do where he was trying to provide these folks. So what's the difference between that and Europeans doing what Europeans do? Nothing. Okay. Nothing. Nothing. And that's why I try to say that.
that the difference is only because the Germans were fighting the French over the English fighting the Portuguese fighting over the like the Calvary of Africa thing. So the same thing happens with Gaddafi Nasser. Nasser had a Nubian problem, his Coptic problem. Iraq had his Kurdish problem, their Aramaic problem. Lebanon had its Aramaic problem. He called the Mary Nights. We keep talking about indigenous people that are... Because these people have...
ethnic and national aspirations. Correct. And so it's part of being a nation is you need land, right? Okay, correct. Correct. So then if the American people still exist barely because of hundreds of years of Arabization, not so firmly necessarily same with those new beings that told you both. What I'm saying is if you go after people who are trying to
Airbys, if that's the word. The world, what about the Europeans who've gone in? I agree. I agree. So what I'm trying to say is we already know about the Europeans. We've been hearing this all our lives and I'm not to minimize it. I'm saying South Africa's white people are doing what Gaddafi does to North Africans, what Massar did to New Orleans. Gaddafi banned African languages. Just think of that for a second.
You're so people just like you said, this is what white people get over here. But not think of it as it is real bad. No, of course not. No, they segregated them. They're not integrated. Arabs are not integrated. Palestinians are not integrated into Israeli society, John. No, what I'm saying is that they're not.
All right, man, let me, I gotta do a break. Not perfect, it's not perfect, I agree. Okay, go ahead. Appreciate you. Thanks, bye-bye. You're still Community Voice, we're gonna take a quick break and we'll be right back.

You want to get a chance to come and hate on me. Uh, server starts at 11, right there on, uh, was a 20 second in Congress. Uh, but again, the historic Antioch Missionary Baptist church, the 80th church anniversary. Um, so they would come in and let me say this y'all. Well, I won't say it. Come, you might be surprised. Also, well, there was up three zero. All they got to do is win one.
That's it. Got four games to win one. But let me point out that even though statistically 3-0 is very hard to overcome, it did happen. That was 2008. Boston Red Sox was 2004. Boston Red Sox. Right. So a team can go into a real collapse and you figure out, oh man, what happened? But that was a great game last night. Hey, Abner.
Abner, throw strikes. Throw strikes. And here's the thing, Uribe was upset the day before because he took him out the game, okay? And then you looked at him and you could see this relief he had when they went the back to back. He was like, oh man, dude, y'all just bailed me out. Y'all just bailed me out, man. I mean, you said the thing about some of the errors, like the pass ball, the wild pitch.
