Fake Teacher Scandal Rocks Milwaukee School: Safety Protocols Under Fire
Community Voice · Fri Oct 9, 2026
Good morning. Welcome to Dubwich. Good morning. Welcome to Community Voice. I'm your host Keith Parris. I want to thank everybody for joining us this morning. Good morning, DJ. Good morning. Clark Kent. Will you wait? Hey, man. What you bruh? Apostle. Hey, top of the morning, Bishop. Say another word. My wife called me from Oakland yesterday. And she said they wore you out, huh?
Jumped on his heels. Man, they wore you out? Yeah, Mark of the Beast. Jumped on his heels. Man. He needed AA, DJ. He needed AA yesterday. Man, I walked out of here. I was like... Sore, he was like... Sore just all beat up.
Let me do this. So how should I send it to you like messenger? No You just got to Go all the way over it like a text message you send it through a text message We help and keep as much text in and sharing articles you don't know how to share a video
Yeah, you're right, because I don't know how I got to that side of this. Oops. Well, if it was an accident, why were you on it for an hour? I didn't mean to go there. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Let's see. Hey.
I'm sorry. No, yeah Anyway, good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Um, we got a lot going on this morning man All right. Good morning. What's happening there? Oh man. It's a Friday It's a Friday. It's a Friday. No, and man, it's this weather Feel good to me like man, and it's just beautiful outside. You know, I was I was telling Keith, uh
Last week, you know fall and sometimes the summer will fall is the only Season for me that like you could go down some of the most roughest streets And it just and it just be beautiful like you like you had a resort or somewhere like going down going down locus We're seeing all of the colors of the trees and stuff. It just changed the dynamic of
you know, how the environment look and everything. So, you know. Yeah, I was, oh man, was it Tuesday? Tuesday was just absolutely gorgeous, man. I just set up a porch and I was like, wow. Yeah. What a beautiful day. Beautiful day. And it looked like we might have a 80. Tomorrow. An 80 degree day in us. And Monday. And Monday, wow. Man, so did, you know, hopefully, you know,
We we have a peaceful weekend. Yes, but you know having having those beautiful days This late in the year But it's always gonna be beautiful when the leaves change for me I believe change. This is something about coming up peak the next two weeks. Yeah. Yeah All right. Well, let's let's let's let's get to it
Are we going to jump right into Haters Nation or are we going? Well, we got a lot this morning. We do. We got a lot. Let's see. What should we get out the way? OK, you weren't here to talk about the Rufus King allowing a fake substitute teacher in the building for multiple classes. Man, that's atrocious. You know what? Let me start there, you know what I'm saying? So I could just get it out the way. Somebody got to lose their job.
somebody got to lose their job. And it may be more than one person because the fact that you allow this individual to be in there as long as they were, that is a tremendous safety issue. Not only that, DJ, but it would have never came out if the video didn't come out. Oh. Yeah, it's a video. First of all, it's a lot of stuff that go on.
at NPS that I've heard that if it hit the fan, maybe the city would be on fire. But what is their process? Because I can't just show up into no school and say, oh, I'm a substitute teacher. I'm here to substitute. It's supposed to be a process. Checks and balances. Who are you? What class? Who did you speak with?
It's supposed to be ways to verify individuals. Just like how it's supposed to be, nobody should be able to just come into a school and pick a kid up. It's supposed to be checks and balances. It don't even matter if you check the kid, are you on the list to check the kid out? You know what I'm saying? That is ridiculous and that could have went left so bad. It didn't. Like it didn't go left?
No, I'm talking about no, I'm talking I'm talking about lives could have been lost left. That's what I'm talking about. That was that's crazy. And she said that she don't like kids neither. So she could have did anything to the kids. Somebody I'm done with all of this NPS. We need to preserve it and all of that. We just had a referendum to give them money.
What's it got to do with it? It got everything to do with it, because this is for checks and balances, correcting the process. And clearly, they just doing anything. They just doing anything. You can never just let anybody walk into a school and mind you, she was in a classroom for at least two periods. Three. Three. So first of all, first of all,
If a group, I'm pretty sure a group of kids went to the next class and was like, man, this teacher was tripping. Like, you know, kids talk, kids talk. So another person didn't overhear nothing after the first period. You had to wait two more periods and then for you to make your checks and balances to be like, uh, who was you? Who did you speak with? Are you on this?
website or this app. That's ridiculous, man. And not to mention is Rufus King. People always just blow up Rufus King, like Rufus King, so great. It can't be that great. That is... What you doing?
But that's a mistake that cannot happen man. You hear that right out? That mistake should not ever happen. Nobody get passes with this though. That's a mistake that should not happen. Like if I am a parent of a Rufus King student, I would be beyond living. They gotta have some meetings going on.
They gotta have something to where they bring the parents in. Because Lucy, you got some explaining to do. For real. All right. You use this orange as your hat. That's all I'm saying. You are using this orange as your hat, boy. All right. OK, well, we got it out your system, man.
Man, I got some more but I don't wait That's ridiculous somebody gotta go and multiple people gotta go Especially because you know, I know I Know of my program where we have to produce Documentation to to go in
and ask certain questions. And they be giving us the blues. We have documentation. We have badges. You know what I'm saying? So for this to go down, they need to be talking to the parents immediately. I'm sure they did. No, I'm not talking about no letter that's sent out. No news letter. No, I'm talking about a sit down. Like how we doing?
a form needs to happen. And how are we going to prevent this? How are we going to prevent this? Because this cannot happen again. It shouldn't have happened this time. But think about it. How many other times has this happened that it hasn't been reported? That's another point. What is going on in these schools? We've been talking about NPS for years with the mismanagement, with
they always come to us with the lack of resources. Well, you gotta at least follow the protocol that's in place. You know, you ask them for more. What are you doing with the stuff that you got now? Don't put it on the whole school system, man. There was a breach at Rufus King High School. Well, what do the scripture say? Much is given, much is required. Yeah, but I'm just saying, let's just kind of, you know, he didn't, he didn't took it to, it would worldwide global. Hey, and it should.
Yeah, I mean, if it falls under the umbrella, if it falls under the umbrella, then everybody should be subject to the same thing. And to Jermaine's point, he usually don't make a good point. Watch yourself. How many times has some shenanigans happened that we just don't know about? Watch yourself. How many times?
A broken clock is right twice a day. Twice a day. A garbage can't get a stake every now and again. Watch yourself, miss. Oh boy, you take it back there. Don't you, bro? Oh man. Paul. All right. Can we move on? Be sure. Yeah, we can move on. We can move on. You got a phone call, man. Talk to the people, man. All right. Call and welcome to the program. Good morning. You on there? Yes. Good morning. Good morning.
I'm calling about the program yesterday. Oh my God, here we go. Yes. Okay. Because I would like us to see some resolution, you know, to some extent because it seems like we don't go around and around and around in circles. So I had written down a couple of points and I thought that maybe we could agree upon at least these things.
one with and well, I've just read them if you want to stop me before I get through. One is that we can't not all that seems into a single category. People will make references to okay, you took this particular vaccine. So therefore you should take this vaccine if we can all agree that they are not all the same.
they're not doing the vaccine. They don't work the same. And so to me, that would be one thing we don't have to keep going over that. Well, you took the childhood vaccine, so you should take this vaccine because they're not even their mRNA. Now it's different from the original vaccine that they would take the virus and deactivate it or make it so that
it would make a reaction in the body, but it would make it sick. And then another point is that the healthcare industry depends upon data that's collected, but you can't collect the data before the data is received, before the surveys are taken. So we cannot know with certainty
when something comes out, what the results are gonna be. So we just have to be patient and then figure the results. And then again, if nobody is reporting it or if it's not being analyzed, if it's not being publicized, then again, we still don't know. So we, you know, identify with each other over things that we can't even know.
We can't know what the 10 year results are going to be. We have to wait for the 10 years to pass. And then the other thing in regard to a standard, well, we should know that the companies that manufacture the vaccines, they're not liable. They do not have any liability for the vaccine.
I mean, we have to accept it if a person is in something to make money that's their business, then this is their business. And I guess the last thing I'll say is in regard to us taking the banner and even saying that God gave the vaccine, God gave the doctor.
And those comments, therefore out there, because again, we don't know who, we don't know what, none of us are behind the closed doors, none of us are working for the company. So those were just some things, some comments that I thought about last, you know, from yesterday. And we know that with those people who
have particular scriptures know that Satan, you know, the devil said that he was going to take God's creation and then he would use it. So I'm going to stop at this point if you want to fight or anything, but I don't really want to. I'm really trying to bring us together because we, five years out, we still having the same conversations, discussions, arguments. So what can we agree on? What can we come together on?
Alright, thanks for your call All right We can be really anecdotal here We can we can start off where we were keep take the sexy out your voice man speak up We can start off where we were March
March of 20, right? That's when we did the lockdown where we were in terms of number of people dying. We can look at where we are today. And we can say, certainly five years out from the introduction of the vaccine, that it has been overwhelmingly successful.
if you look at statistics and statistics numbers matter. Yes, as I said yesterday, one person having a negative outcome, where the point that they die is one too many. But when you look at the broader scheme of things, what we found out was that these vaccines that those of us who took them, I know that those, they were folks who didn't.
was effective. Now, I don't know how the young lady called in yesterday talking about the market of beast and all these things. Here's where I am. No matter what, I cannot move a person off their square if they believe so strongly in something. It's just not going to happen. But the reality is that your belief can have catastrophic
kind of consequences, but overwhelmingly when you look at and then the the one vaccine. There are instances where you have to have people save you from yourself. And that's that's that's been my question going back to when we originally did the lockdown. Does government have an obligation and I asked Congress one more this question yesterday. Do the government have an opera for public health, not just for me?
because it's everybody in this room, and does government have a responsibility to step in and say, you know what, we're gonna do this. What's the conversation yesterday based off of the referendum? Because the referendum has a question geared towards, you know, does the government have the ability to say that you cannot congregate at a church, you know?
Um, due to, you know, health emergencies or an emergency lockdown. Is that where that stands from? Oh, okay. I wish I listened yesterday. Yeah. And it was something that Michelle, and I had never looked at it from this perspective, but she was saying, do we give
religion more power than the state. Should religion have more power than the state? I will argue no. Yeah, I say no too, because it's based on belief. It's not based on fact, it's based on belief. And belief is not. And again, when you just look at the numbers, and sure, everybody can go and show me where, you know, somebody died from it. And I was saying, but the 100, 200 million people who did take it didn't die from it.
You know, so, you know, the exception cannot be the rule, right? We had that conversation before we always we always highlight the minority instead of instead of you know, take into account You know the majority, you know, whenever what I mean, even I mean this shouldn't happen, but actually I'm not even gonna get back. I'm not even gonna get back But other just let's just say
you know, there have always been a big conversation around youth and how disrespectful or how lost youth are. We speak about the youth as if that's the majority, but it's not. That's the minority, but the minority sticks out. Speaking to your point, you know, when people pass away from a certain vaccination or from a certain illness,
It's big because it grabs your attention. But then we also have to take into account that that's the minority. Not everybody pass away from getting the flu. Not everybody passes away from getting certain illnesses. Do people pass away? Yeah. Like pneumonia. But it still has to be considered though.
That's the thing. Even though it's small in numbers, you still got to take it into consideration because it could. Oh, it goes all in the same pot, but then you have to differentiate the two. We often generalize and whatever our point is, that's where the general is going to be. Carla, welcome to the program.
This is the same one. Yes, I'm sorry. I was trying to respond to what was good that the correlation that we get from, let's say you said that there was a certain, the, okay, the, I'm sorry. Let me get my words together again. How many people that had passed away
before the vaccine was introduced and then afterwards it's no longer, you know, those numbers are not that high. So I guess that's a correlation of the vaccine was introduced and then the number reduced. So we don't know the cause though. See, the cause is different from something that's correlated.
But you going in, I guess my frustration is that, you know, what methodology are you applying to come to your conclusion? Okay, and that's another frustrating thing to me because everything that I am trying to present actually came from the study of the material.
that was given in the presentations of the drug companies. I think there were three major ones at the time to the FDA in order to get their approval. So that's my frustration because a person can read and be in on the, you know, the call-ins, the CDC.
you know, having the update and still when they try to present. What I'm asking you, what methodology did you apply? I read what it was that they had presented when the different companies, I read it and they said that they could not say that vaccine would present the
or either prevent people from getting it. That's correct. But that's every vaccine. Vaccines are not designed to keep you from preventing you from getting the disease. Vaccines are designed to make sure that you do not have a severe negative outcome from the disease. And I think that just goes back to our interpretation. That's not interpretation. No, no, no. You didn't let me finish. I'm saying that just goes.
I think that plays into our interpretations of what we thought vaccinations were supposed to do. A lot of us thought that if I get this, then I'm not going to get it.
That's from our own understanding and it was a lack of knowledge, you know, and it was from our own lack of knowledge. But that's what we thought. But we did think that we thought it, but it wasn't based in fact. Because that's not the point. No, it's not. It is the point. What I'm saying is our lack of knowledge and understanding of what vaccinations do.
led to what we believe for and that was probably wrong. I'm gonna say this, for one year, for one year, we had Brenda and we had Julia on and they would always preference it with one, nothing is 100%. That's why pharmaceutical companies can't come out and say this 100%. Two, vaccines, right?
And many instances does not necessarily prevent you from getting a disease. What it does is it better helps you fight off the disease. Those disclaimers have been made. People didn't want to hear that. Oh, no, no, you're still going to get it. Yes, you still could get. I get a flu shot and still get flu. The difference is I probably won't die from the flu. And I think that that's where people are. But I'm saying that people did not understand that or they didn't know that weather.
Whether and people weren't hearing it correct and if people heard Once you obtain the knowledge and then you choose not to apply it then that's on you But I'm saying before people knew I didn't know that I I just assumed oh if I get this then I'm not gonna get that and I always brought up the the story of when I was in college and
one of my teammates had got the flu. And he said, oh, I took the flu shot. And I was like, that don't make sense. You're not supposed to get the flu. And he explained that process to me, which had my mind blown. But that's the same scenario that happened during COVID. People did not know that. Yeah, that is true, DJ. I can understand what you're trying to say. What he's saying is because
in the community, because I heard it too, that if you get the COVID shot, you won't get COVID. So that was a rumor that has been dispelled now, but it was going around and it spread like wildfire through the black community. Because everywhere I went, I was hearing people say that. So if you don't do the research on your own, you're going to go off of what you're hearing the majority of the people say. And that's what they were saying was,
If I get the COVID shot, I won't get COVID. So then when people started getting COVID after they got the shot, that's when people was like, well, wait a minute, I thought you couldn't get it after you got the shot because of the rumors that was floating around in the community. And the beginning was presented as if people that took it would not get COVID. It was never presented that way. In the beginning, I believe it was.
know, and the reason why I'm so emphatic about this is that we spent an enormous amount of time on community voice talking about this. We brought doctors in. I'll never forget. Who is it? No, his brother. His brother came in and they were talking about warp speed and he said, Keith, I'm gonna be honest with you. I had some skepticism about this vaccine. Once the data came out,
He changed his position. What I'm saying is that we can go on based on our feelings and I understand that your feelings are real. But what I'm saying is this is science. And so when misinformation gets out here, it gets in the way of science. Let me present some science, please. Say that again. I said, let me present from a scientific point. You just automatically assume because you know because the numbers are saying something else than what people are saying. No, no.
Just come out of the emotion and come down to what I'm trying to say. In the beginning, we did not know everybody was was waiting for something to come to help us out. OK, so people were people who no matter what had come out, they were going to say, yes, I'm ready. I just had a friend just said to me, yes, I was ready.
So whatever they brought, I was going to trust it and I was going to go with it because everybody was in fear. Okay. So that worked. But in the beginning, people did expect it to not, uh, is expected to not get the disease. And then after that's what I was saying earlier, you don't know it's not science until you can get some data out there. You can get, you can get, um, people tested. You can get some reports back because we don't know. So then
When the reports started coming in, remember they said that now they started calling a breakthrough because they did not even break through faces. And again, I'm not just speaking from religion or whatever you think I'm speaking from. I was actually on those, the updates, weekly updates.
But I'm against the question I'm asking you now based on your experience, based on our shared experience going from March 2020, right, to where we are today. Have vaccines been effective? I cannot answer that. Why not? Either yes or no. No, because
because when the pandemic that was in 1918, and then it lasted for two and a half years, and then it went away. No, it didn't just go away. We build herd immunity. We build herd immunity. That's different, and that's what we built with COVID. No, you can't build herd immunity with COVID.
That's okay. Well, anyway, I don't want to go in. That's another sensitive discussion because you cannot have herd immunity with COVID. But what I'm saying- Yes, you can. And we're getting to that point. No. Yes. I'll tell you what. If you can- Okay. How many people die each year? Let me ask you this question. How many people each year die from flu?
I don't know. Okay, 15 on a bad year is 30,000 people on a bad year. Okay, 30,000 people. So what I'm saying is we've done a good job. That's why we suggested people take their flu shots because they are effective in terms of preventing a pandemic. I mean, so when people, yes, are some people gonna die, that happens in any situation.
We don't stop driving cars because people die in car accidents. There are many signs of flu and we cannot even be injected for every strain of flu. All right, I appreciate it. I gotta go to break. I gotta go to break. All right, you're listening to Community Voice. A writeout did show me something where they said initially some of the officials said in early 2021 that it would prevent flu. They later went in and adapted that, but amended that. But the vast majority of people
You know not because this wasn't even just in our community and religious communities There was skepticism so yeah, but that's where it all started from them hearing it on CNN and TV People were skeptical though. I'm gonna tell you right out. I started this in March of 20 I had black people calling in saying black people couldn't die from COVID. Yeah, the number says But the number says something else you listen to community voice gonna take a quick break. We'll be right back
All right, I choose gonna say something. All right, welcome back. We wanted to Well, I tell you politics politics politics and so I wanted to I You love head of state, right? Yeah, it's one of your favorite movies not one of my favorite what I love Well, you quoted enough that makes it you know and and you talk about
different things. You remember that that instance in there when he was talking about his mama? Yeah, yo mama, because he wanted that he wanted to debate. Okay, this actually happened in a debate yesterday with else. I am popular with voters in the state week cowardly.
won't stand up until his poll numbers drop. The only thing he cares about is his power, and going back one more time through the revolving door. Rogers has tried to distance himself from Trump, saying that the tariff war needs to end. And in this debate, Rogers said he recently spoke with the Commerce Secretary about the issue. Rogers also tried to cast doubt on El Sayed's credentials as a doctor. El Sayed does have a medical degree, but he does not practice clinical medicine.
Somebody came into his office and he tried to treat that patient. He'd go to jail. You're going to find out that this guy is not what he says he is. He is actually selling the best con I think I've ever seen. This race between El Sayed and Rogers could be a nail biter until the end. El Sayed went into the debate, facing skepticism about whether he could win over Jewish Democrats and black voters uneasy with his campaign. While Rogers is grappling with President Trump's unpopularity,
in the battleground state. But so much of the substantive policy discussion in this debate was overshadowed by those personal attacks, raising questions about whether either candidate was able to move the needle with voters. I'll tell you what my mother did. She was a small... You go after my mom? I'm not going after your mom. What your mom was working at, I was going off to that organization. That was one of the very personal and heated... You talking about my mom?
Yeah, I mean if if if you talk about your mama, I'm not gonna think that you talking about my mama Why not Good it depends on what you say afterwards like if you just say oh my mom was a hard-working individual that instilled in me values and this that in the third I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna think that you you said anything
a derogatory about my mom, but if you say like, if you say like, uh, you know, unlike your mom, who, you know, if, if, if, if you make a real direct, like my mom was a respectful woman who raised a respectful child. I don't know what they say about you. The accusation that his mother was supporting, uh, El Qaeda. Right.
That's where he was. Which is really interesting because I guess Mike Rogers is rather tone deaf because the largest Arab population in the country resides in Michigan.
That was the decider in the 2024 election that there were many people of Eric Descent who had issues with the Biden administration's approach to Israel and approach to Gaza. But I just thought it was interesting they went to your mama. They didn't talk a lot about issues, but certainly did get to people's mamas. Call the one to the program. Good morning, you on there.
We can't hear you that clear me
Can you hear me better now? A little better, yeah. Okay, okay, check this out. The thing is that we gotta realize that when COVID first came out, it was targeted. I mean, the disease, the virus was targeted at old people, you know, and everybody was panicking. Say that again? Huh? Say that again? I said the disease was mainly targeting old people.
Well, everybody was concerned if you were over certain things. Okay, Meach, Meach, hey Meach, I'm gonna give you a chance to reconstruct that sentence. It targeted any situation, any human organism, it targeted. Now you have to then go in and say, but the elderly, people with comorbidities, i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, congested heart disease, AIDS.
all had a different reaction. I heard a doctor say that almost 90% of Americans will get COVID. This is what he said. And it looks like those numbers are true. So it's outcome, man. So y'all sitting up going back and forth on this. We're not going back and forth, man. I called in to have a conversation for a minute. What are we still litigating today? OK, this is what we're mitigating today, brother. It was full COVID.
There's four causes that are common to man, okay? You got the output, the two, two, nine feet alpha cologne. You got the three, nine, six, three alpha cologne. You got the OC beta cologne, and then you got the HKU one beta. When you go to the doctor, hold on, when you go to the doctor, they're going to tell you that you got a, it's a cologne. Push your point, man.
why you why you why you want to rush off and trying to get to your point what is your point okay my point is just right here brother but in 2021 didn't nothing but approximately in Milwaukee County and this is what I bought to the radio station and then they switched it up you know the downtown the county and all of them switched it up because they listened the thing approximately six to seven hundred COVID-19 related depth in the county of Milwaukee County over a course
of that calendar year talking about 2021. Okay. This is the 700 deaths related. What is your argument? We blow it up like it was a million. No, no, no, no, no. We didn't blow it up like it was a million. We didn't blow it up like it was a million. That's not true. And you did that.
You did that on your radio program. You called in the other programs doing the same thing. It is misinformation. You know what? It's misinformation. I'm being okay. Check this out. I'm being okay. Let's get past that because you ain't gonna let me fool with that. You ain't gonna let me fool with that. You know why? Because I'm right. You're not right. Now check this out. You're not right. I'm right. I'm coming with facts. Facts can be disputed. You should do a scientist guy, right? Okay.
No, but I think when you put this out on the memorandum, it says we should we vote to close churches down or any religious organizations. Should we do that? Do you think that's good or not? Yes. Yes. That's good. Yes. DJ, you said it's good too. Man, if you go, that's a lot of you are going to rob clothes in the house and face down when you can leave a little store and a pool all open. But that wasn't our decision.
But hold on though, but it's on the memorandum now. We do have the book. The memorandum don't talk about the liquor school. It's just talking about church. Here's the difference. Hey, wait a minute, Keith. What we were talking about in that time, that's a lot of church people that passed away. This is for the future, brother. This is for the future. What you saying, brother? What I'm saying, so you don't let me finish. Hold on once, brother. No, no, no, no. You asked me a question. I'm trying to answer it. OK. You gotta stop talking.
What happened in 2020? A lot of people passed away and they still congregated at churches. So now the memorandum is asking, should the government have the ability to say you cannot congregate in the event of a health crisis?
or or emergency and concerts and football games, basketball games. You know, sometimes you got to save people from themselves. We just had that. Okay, okay, okay, okay, brother DJ. Okay, brother DJ. Now check this out. Check this out now. You made a clear point that was clear. I mean, that was a clear point. Now check this out. Did you just not hear me say how many, how many people live in our county?
about five, six hundred thousand people in the county, not even just the inner city. Now we're talking about million. Now watch, hold on, hold on. This is in the Stokes Brothers under Big Bird over there. Watch this here. How many people died in the Milwaukee County in 20?
21. How many people died of COVID? You got about 600,000 people. 700 people died, brother. But they made you believe that it was personified. They blow it up big. What about pneumonia? If you look at the cases of pneumonia, pneumonia just disappeared, right? Meach. People still get pneumonia. Meach. Okay, guess what? Meach. If we treated pneumonia like we did COVID, because it's a viral lung.
You know, it depends on the type of pneumonia you have. You can have viral pneumonia, which you can have, oh wait, you can have bacteria. You can have bacterial pneumonia. So that does it. So that has to do with your antibiotics, right? Your antibiotics cannot get down. Man, what you're doing is you're doing, you're doing it. It wasn't just houses of worship. Bring them down. Bring them down. It wasn't just houses of worship. They close five. Sir.
They closed. There were no high school in person basketball games. Kids were playing in masks. A lot of schools went virtual, right? Right. And so what I'm saying is, and then if you understand, for black people in the state of Michigan, the church of God and Christ lost four bishops, they didn't know DJ is right. The government has a responsibility sometimes to save us from us. Here's the other thing.
And I just thought about that. I had this memory. You only was spaced and lined up to go in a liquor store. Yeah, you were you were and you had to have on a mask. So they only allow X number of people in the liquor store at any given time. And people and people was complaining about getting a hair and nails done, you know, oh, it needs to open up because I need to get my hair. That's still happened. Is that is that more important than your health?
I mean, there were people going to the liquor store more important than your health. It could be. If you if you if you're an alcoholic and you go into withdrawals, no, here's the other piece of it. It's killing you though. It ain't keeping you alive. There's a difference though would go to go cold turkey. You go to withdrawals. That's a whole totally different thing. Here's the other thing that people didn't want to. Here's the other thing. You can't call it was happening.
which was taken up hospital beds and people were still dealing with the elements that we deal with every day. So like, like elected surgery was ended because of hospital beds being taken up by COVID. Brother, can I say something? Yeah. Why would you, why would you make me, the game or just dismissing, I can say, what I've already said?
when it comes down to the difficult kind of COVID. And how many people? Okay, man. All we know is in 2020, and into 2021, we had a pandemic. That was global. It was global. And then how I knew when people were saying it was conspiracy, as I remember the queen got it. I remember Boris Johnson got it. I remember, ho, ho, ho. The president got it. The president got it.
He told us to drink, please, didn't he? So when we look at it, and that's the whole thing about getting misinformation out there sometime, and look, if you want to be skeptical about the science. We're dealing with what has to be be reported back from every time we say back to the CDC. All I know is, all I know is six years later, the number of people who died from COVID.
has dropped dramatically than where we were in March of 20. I think the goal was to actually get the shot. And my daughter-in-law took the shot. She worked out there and played it. Now, my father wouldn't do it, but he left the job. She took the shot. And you know what? She got moved here twice in the first year, first year, 20. And that's because of the COVID vaccine? I'm not making this up because of what's happening. Is that because of the COVID vaccine?
I think it was because we think it is. But it shows change. Is that because of the COVID vaccine? We don't know, but they said it is linked to that kind of stuff, man. OK. All right, here we go. I got to go, man. I'm on break. You listening? No, no, no, we don't. We're listening. We're listening to community voice. I'll take a break.
And now it's time for the protege perspective. Can you recall when you were fearless? Yes. The feeling of being invincible. To not be afraid of perceived failure or perceived perceptions. Some would argue that ignorance is bliss and that fearlessness is what accompanies this. Can you think back to a time
where you believe that you could achieve all things, nothing could stop you. No matter how great the opposition was, it wasn't greater than your inspiration and motivation to change the nation. Do you remember envisioning your goals and outcomes? Do you remember feeling so supreme that the thought of losing never entered your mental stream? There was a time that the thought of conquering all things
was more than just a thought. It was a vibrant energy that will exude throughout your every fiber in your body. Being fearless was effortless, but somewhere along the line, the state of being fearless slowly disappeared. Fearlessness exuded less and less, and now you just operate based on fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection,
fear of reoccurring trauma. What happened to that invincible feeling? Fear, like pressure and life, is what you make of it. Experience will teach you lessons along the way, lessons that should strengthen your knowledge and will to succeed. There are tremendous blessings and lessons.
So get back on that fearless train because with newfound knowledge and maturity You will have created a stronger more in-depth and sustainable man All right, thank you. All right, I got a caller Good morning. Call it welcome to the program. Good morning. You're in there. Okay. Hey DJ. Hey, what's going on? Try that might have been the best yet, bro
Thank you. I feel nothing but God. Tupac. Okay. And I feel no man but God. Tupac. There you go. Okay. There you go. But God is not a man or woman. So, you know, I was real smart. As a kid, I was real smart and I know who to kind of
Take advice from me keep this is one. God is not a man nor is God a woman Okay, but I digress because I'm mad really mad keep Paris sir Did eat people did just one of the 19 alderman in the city of Milwaukee all women all the women vote against the $20,000 raise for themselves
or the $40,000 raise for Cavalier do nothing. 8% is $20,000? No, I think it was 2% to the council. And then 6% and then 2% every year thereafter. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, I'm just asking, did just one of them stand up and say, you know what? People came by gas.
Why are we doing this? I do think that a cost of living increase is necessary for every for everybody just because stuff stuff raises every single year. And so if you're if you still stuck at, you know, whatever your salary is and never getting an incremental increase, then that's gonna be that's gonna be hard to live. But I also say that that increase
should be in line with what other city workers are getting. So if other city workers are getting 3 percent, then they should get 3 percent. I don't agree with, you know, city workers getting 3 percent. But then, you know, the alderman and the mayor getting a 8 percent or 12 percent. There's the other piece of it. They're not eligible in this term for those increases. They have to run for reelection in order to get the increases.
Yeah, and which which leads me to my next point guys. I'll be leaving Milwaukee as soon as this takes effect I'll be gone. I'm out of here. Okay. I'm not giving Cavalier Johnson or down $40,000 to do what? He'll even make a lot of appearances. You know, he just worthless the dude is I'm a disagree. Yeah, I've seen him a few times I'm a disagree I've traveled a lot of different spaces and I could tell you that he is present
Yeah, I do think that he's present. Yeah, he's there. I mean, someone asked me. Someone asked me the other day what he said. He said he's at Juneteenth. But no, outside of Juneteenth, I've seen him downtown by the lake. It was like some moon exhibition or exhibit going on over there. He was there. And then also I've seen him at a couple schools too. So he does make his rounds.
He's so keep jealous. I live on the south side and Perez is our big chief And uh, he jealous of this so he don't come around here. All right, so anyway, I will be gone The day after this is enacted. I'm out. I'm gonna go I don't care where grandeur west dollars anywhere Because I don't have to get these do nothing people all of this money. All right. I hate all of them a strong word hate them
Yeah. Okay. And you know, for some folks, perception is the reality. You know, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I, and, you know, we, we hear that about so many people that, uh, you know, you know, these, uh, political figures, uh, public figures, they, they don't, they don't come around. But I, I, I have, I have seen the mayor.
a few times. So, uh, I don't know. It just, it just depends on where you are, what's going on, and, you know, however those schedules align. Caller, welcome to the program. Good morning. You on there? Good morning. Okay. Yes. Good morning. I just wanted to disagree with the last caller.
And I've seen Cavalier in so many business places and places in Milwaukee. He was just on 20th in Oklahoma a couple of months ago for the opening of a new school over there. I'm seeing that the Father's Day cook out some abrasion near 60th and Custer, wherever he used to be, all the men of that district. I just send them all over the place. So, all of this, and that's it. I appreciate you.
I mean, it is extremely important to be a visible public figure, especially when you hold public office, but also, and this is something that I had to mature on is that, you know, one, these things, you're not voting for a mate or a partner. And then two, just with the duties of that particular job, you know, the mayor is the mayor of
approximately what 400 or 500,000 people, 600,000 people, all 600,000 people are not going to say I've seen Cavalier Johnson because it's impossible to see all 600,000 people. You know what I mean? The market is big. And so, you know, it just depends on, you know, what's going on, what initiatives and then
reaching out to the office. Hopefully you can say that, you know, whenever you reach out to any of these public figures that they either have a staff member or they themselves reach back out to you so that you can, you know, receive whatever it is that you're looking for or just put them on a certain event. You know, a lot of block parties happen and, you know, I'm pretty sure you got to reach out to somebody in order to
to, you know, get that street or so blocked off. So see if they could stop by. Call and welcome to the program. Good morning, you in there? What's going on, brother? All right, self. Well, the best of the people was in that last year or what? Yeah. Yeah, that was, that was, that was hard to watch. Not really, because the Cowboys lost. Are they worse than the commanders?
The commanders beat the Seahawks with they back up. We still three and one. Our record better than yours. So hold tight. Hey, we win. We win on Sunday and we probably had the same record as y'all. Because who y'all plays with?
We're going to kind of tell. Oh, yeah. We go out of the same record. They kind of tell you. You're speaking. You're speaking too fast. When you play in Frisco, you play in Frisco in Seattle, correct? Correct. OK. Brock Purdy is playing pretty good. Yeah, but they're playing in Seattle. You're playing pretty good. Seattle. Seattle really does have one of the real outsides, home field advantages. So I think that would be tough. But let's get back to the fact that the Packers game was moved.
Kind of tells you how the Bears and the Packers are because they flexed that game and moved it into the moon. They don't flex games that early. That was shocking to me. Yeah, because it's both these teams. Caleb is not playing in the Packers. It don't matter. They used to say in the past, it's too early to flex games. So whatever they, so whatever they at, that's where they stand. And it's early.
They didn't know the brewers were gonna go breaking news right here breaking news Mike they could just passed away You know he showed his ass during that COVID I mean during that Kaepernick stuff, so I really wasn't I lost I lost all He was gonna run against Barack Obama for US Senate in Illinois. Yeah
But he is a bear. He is 85. Oh, you asked how old he was. 86. And I will tell you, I worked at a hospital. Kobe was hitting so hard. We had we had a semi-frigerator. You talked about bodies on top of bodies on top of bodies. So without you not taking it, it probably wouldn't have been as many.
Don't don't don't don't row keep up. We just got off. We just got off. He was starting to generate her up again. That's what I ain't trying to say. But with the with the cowboys losing yesterday, maybe.
The Buccaneers might have a formula of a success moving forward because they they was very successful against the Packers last week And and then for them to have this performance Against on the short week at that, you know with the rookie quarterback It may turn something around
City lamb got hurt. Like you said, DJ, it's, it's, it's too, it's too early, too early to be thinking we're going to have to say record. So you know what? Let me, let me say this. Y'all got the 49ers. We got the cubby bears. Let me say this. Two of the most overrated quarterbacks in pro football right now is Dak Prescott and Jordan Love.
You're in love not overrated. I don't know what you're talking about. He tops in and everything. He doesn't throw interceptions until the game was on the line. He only got three interceptions. Yeah, but don't don't don't don't compare. He got eight touchdowns and three interceptions. Dude, didn't he throw an interception when the game was on the line? No. Yeah, he did. He did. Back up his quarterback. He did.
There's always untimely interceptions with him. I mean, all interceptions are untimely. No, that depends. He's not in the red farm, considering one of the greatest. And he threw a great reception. I didn't think he was one of the greatest. He's big because of John Madden. And he is probably the only quarterback ever to win three MVPs in a row. OK. Yeah. Yeah. All right. All right. Appreciate you.
Speaking of and as we talk about pro football, I don't know if you're aware of the controversy Stephen A Smith and His comments on Lane Johnson's retirement. Did he apologize? He finally apologized and he did what a whole lot of us do I'm sorry that you misunderstood what I said. No No, you should be sorry for what you said because what you said was wrong. I don't think Lane Johnson was out
He's been very open about his struggles with depression, right and anxiety And so he's been very open about his own mental health challenges He's played for 14 years. He is definitely a lot for the Hall of Fame But when people sit up and make that and what Stephanie Smith was trying to say was all he just quitting because the Eagles are not doing real well I don't know when there's a good time
Maybe maybe maybe he thought at the beginning of the season he'd get through the season But you know, I should not have to sacrifice My overall mental health. I'm already putting my physical health on the line, you know for people So finally see Steven A Smith was was able to do an apology. I wasn't making light of it Here's the thing and we all do it, right? We all talk But it was something that someone said to me and my wife many years ago
everything that comes up don't have to come out. And so when you, you sit up and you trying, cause you know, you doing your thing, that's your little schlick, right? I stood up and I, like him and Jason Whitlock, you know, I'm gonna, I'm gonna say things cause then, you know, it's like these little click bait pieces that you get out there, but now you're talking about people and certainly pro football players who put their long-term health on the line to keep us entertained.
I think is somebody who you could never like really misinterpret his words because he say stuff so emphatically, you know that like no you meant and you meant what you said never he just messed up that's one thing about Steven a when when he's on something he's Steven a's it you know what I'm saying like it's no other is no misinterpretation around how he felt
He was a very, very good sports writer for the Philadelphia Enquirer. I used to read him. But see, that's the whole thing. And look, you can pay 30 million a year. And so now it's your brand. But I think you need to be mindful of sometimes the humanity. And I think even a lot of times we have these conversations and we don't realize these are human beings.
And you, you know, people sit up and go like, well, I wouldn't do it, but that ain't you. Right. You know, and, and, and it was like when we were talking about the young lady out in Massachusetts killed her three kids and I'm hearing dudes go like, I will see how she could do that. And I'm saying the dudes, you ain't never had a baby. So you never dealt with postpartum. So, and there were women out there saying, well, I, I had the thought I didn't act on it. I mean, so I think a lot of times we need to be able to see people's humanity and we miss that.
What am I doing? Take a call. All right. Call her. Welcome to the program. Good morning. You on there? All right. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm watching the view and that's the baby Jones just came on in. I was just always wondering where she saw Mike. Well, tell him, but I don't know where she ever saw Mike Douglas. Oh, but
Michael Douglas have one of the coolest walks ever of all time. What's on your mind, man? You know, sorry about that, Char. I gotta be careful when I'm on hold with Char. I won't do that. Who was the first person that came on the airways, saying black people couldn't die of COVID? I don't know.
on WNOV, you should know this is a very simple question. I think it was Meach. Come on, there you go, DJ. It wasn't just Meach. So keep the first person I heard say that. No, it wasn't just Meach. I didn't say the only person. Yeah, there were other people that I remember more than Meach saying it, so. I didn't say that again, keep. I said the first person. That's all I said, Key. And I'm going to agree with that last caller.
And I don't get out to a lot of stuff like I should, but every time when I go to the fatherhood summits and all the places, guess who I see there? The mayor. Yeah. Well, you need to be at the fatherhood something because his name's all on it. So, okay. Well, I just go because I think it's important stuff like that. And so when I go to those places, he's there. He's representing. So, you know, keep, I don't know what people do.
Do people want their lights on? City lights on? Don't they want their trash kicked there? So, I mean, where's the money supposed to go? I don't like paying a higher taxes, but where's the money supposed to come from? Yeah, and you know what? Tom Tiffany.
If he's elected governor, if he's so concerned about the cost of taxes, they can release some of that revenue, all that surplus in terms of revenue sharing, and do a fair revenue sharing formula, not just for Milwaukee, but for all municipalities throughout the state. And Keith, I'm glad you said that. That was my whole point. You know, one day when me and Rideout was kind of going back and forth, and it wasn't Rideout, but kind of about will.
Because Will was asking these questions, right? And he didn't even go to write out and be like, write, write out. I mean, write out what's a year. But OK, then, well, how come your party hasn't done that already then? So if you're all supposed to be this fair and honest, how come you're not doing that? Y'all know Milwaukee is the engine of the state, Milwaukee County. But why won't y'all send the proper money back?
And that's another thing that gets me mad because Michelle was saying something about, because I kind of teased and made a thing that all y'all stick up for Will. But she said, oh, Will's a good person. I just don't agree with his politics. But that's like saying, Trump is a good guy, right? We're just going to use his politics. That's the way I look at it. Come on. Yeah, you know what you did. You violated. Let me.
Nobody get passes. Hey, hey, he said you by later. Oh, I never heard him say that. I can't. Hey, he write those. I'm gonna say this. Some of the more extreme positions that the Republican Party takes.
is not Will Martin. And I think that this is just my experience. You know, I disagree politically a lot with Will, but Will walked the line, right? And Will purposely stayed away from the social issues. Will's whole thing was really about economics. He didn't stay away from those social issues because I've heard him talk about how we need ice.
That's not a social issue. That's a social issue to me. It's not so I'm talking about the social issues would be abortion Social issues would be LGBTQ rights. I'm talking about those things not necessarily that deals with with People and their livelihood is a social issue. Okay, if you're doing it, but I'm talking about in respect to politics Right that so yeah, do I agree with them? No, I don't agree with Orlando Owens, right?
Like Olanda ornth, I just don't agree with him I genuinely and I know George had an issue with it. I genuinely like enjoy talking with Eric Wallace when he called them Don't don't agree with anything he says So I mean that that So I that that's why I defended will I mean I just so and I knew a lot where will would always want to know economically How does it benefit black folks? You're listening to community voice
I'm gonna take a quick break. Oh, we're gonna take a quick break. We'll be right back All right, George, you know the rule on Friday can't say the name you can talk about just can't say the name Right and let me say I've had my my privileges shut down when I accidentally slipped and said it You know so and then when I said it, you know, I didn't know
Clark and you let me know that I said it at but it was already at the end of the program. So, you know, it wasn't it wasn't nothing to do but to leave after that. Call him. Welcome to the program. That's it. That's it. Good morning. You're in there. Yes, sir. Good morning, man. DJ. Good morning, man. Keith. Right up and Clark. Debo Milwaukee, Milwaukee. Tamron W speaking.
Couple different things. I'll go rapid fire here real quick here. I'll touch on the very briefly because you know a couple calls back there. I know George touched on something but there was no call back to all the people there and I think it should be by merit, you know, you know, come to radio stations and talk about what you've achieved, you know, by merit, you know, and then
It gives the people a better picture, a better picture of what you've accomplished and whether some of this money, what you've earned and what you got, but it speaks to the increase that you want. I mean, well, what have you accomplished? Not only what you have, but what you're asking for. So you need to make yourself public about, well, this is what I've accomplished, and this here is why I'm asking for what I'm asking for. But if you don't like these people, then just vote them out.
Well, I agree with that. But I'm just saying, I mean, if you're going to do you, if you're going to put a feather in your own hat there and speak about giving yourself a raise, well, you need to talk about it. I can be very honest with you. I will not have one older person coming on this program to say, I need a pay increase. And that's sad. That's very sad. No, I mean, it's a reality. Well, yeah, but I pay increases, though.
The only one that's really come up, well, you know, browsers came in with the re-energized thing talking about, you know... Yeah, but did he come in here talking about the pay-in? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that, you know, and I guess you've heard of other woman, the recitator, you know, with her events and all, you know, you know, she'll call in and see she's got an event. I'm saying that they'll do themselves a big service and...
but by talking about what they've accomplished in the time slot that they've been in. That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying, you know, one way or the other that they should get this or no. I agree with DJ that, yeah, I mean, the common person out here needs a raise because, yeah, you know, we got to eat, too. Yeah. And let me say people have a reaction. When I hear somebody is making 80, 90 thousand dollars a year.
You know where the average person is not making eighty ninety thousand dollars right? There's a little as I like to call it salary hating I Mean you ain't missing no meals believe me You ain't missing no meals Yeah, but see people people say that But you know politicians two things they're not gonna be able to come on any radio
television print to talk about is one, why am I increasing your taxes? And that's a good thing. And two, I need to get paid more money. So it just ain't going to happen. Because Debo just brought up a really phenomenal point. You know, if it's up to me, I'm going to give myself a raise. So with us having this conversation, should there be a separate panel?
to determine uh uh you know a wage increase for these particular individuals. There we go right there DJ because that's that that's what I'm saying about the the minimum wage has been what it is for what Eon. Yeah okay but here's your option you can vote in 2024 if you do not think that that all the person should not get the raise then don't vote for them. Well I agree with that I've already told you but that's what I'm saying.
you know, like the average person out here driving the truck today, city, county, whatever they're, you know, what is their next pay increase? Right. And what I don't want to, you know, just set the art show just on that, but I'm just saying they need to make themselves available to talk about what, and that goes for the mayor too. You know, David Crawley's got an extensive resume. You know, he's got quite a bit to stand on. So it's safe to say that he's going to get my vote, you know,
Chevy, you know, I got to sit with you, man. We got to talk about a few things. These potholes and stuff. We got to talk to him because if he's going to stand for reelection in 2028, then that becomes the issue. I could say though, and I'm not a mayor. I'm not an order.
But it's a thankless job on many because they they get the blame for everything that's wrong in the city. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah, I think you pretty much knew that going in though. But yeah, right. No, no victims. Just volunteers. I'm just saying. Yeah. But as as as a general rule, people got a problem. First of all, like I said, when you talking about I've heard more people talk about how much a person was getting paid as opposed to whether or not they could do the job. Yeah, anything getting done right.
But I'll leave it right there. But then I just wanted to say very quickly over the sports real quick. I'd want to ask DJ out of the two Dodger pitchers there, the Yamamoto and Matsui there. Which one is pretty much about the best side of the two? Yamamoto. Yeah, Yamamoto. OK. Well, our home games are the two first home games. If we get either one of them or both of them, instead of get underneath that ball, hit that ball on the nose there and get it past the pitcher and the.
shortstop there. I mean, you know, because we did it to a mile last year, except for the playoffs. We ran the dive. And this year, too. This year, too. Well, yeah, basically, basically last season, when we, when we swept all seven games or whatever, out here and in LA. Yeah, I think the other thing is, if you get a hold of Yamamoto and Osani or whatever. Otani. Oh, yeah, Otani. If you get a hold of them two and get to that bullpen.
Hey, I like the Brewers' chances, man. I like the Brewers' chances all the way. Well, Tony is just a different beast, though, because he can hit. He's got a schoolboy picture. Schoolboy's picture. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Well, yeah. Well, you still, you know, instead of trying to get underneath it and looking at it, you just get the bat out there and hit the ball, man. Anything's bound to happen. You're looking at it, challenging.
I'm kind of doing these wrong numbers, but they compared the Dodgers payroll to the Brewers. Dodgers payroll is like 368 billion and the Brewers like 140 something. I thought it was less than that. Yeah, I mean big difference almost twice as much in that payroll. And you know what?
I guess you can't argue with it because what they don't want three, three, possibly three. But we've been at them. No, man. We've been at they if we if we we're getting traffic on the basis, we just move them over and get them in. Well, that's what that matters. But we have when the basis is loaded, the brewers have the highest bad.
Yeah, but they also strand a lot. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That's what I'm talking about right there. But you know, it's not just the Brewers, the Dodgers too. That's the nature of the game. That's the game because the pitching is so good that, you know, when you're able and I and again, that's why I really.
I'm really getting into the analyst this year because I'm having a greater insight into baseball. So they were talking about, don't walk this dude. Because the guy comes up, could hit a home run. Right, so all the strategy, throw strikes, let them hit the ball, throw strikes. I'm not crying no crocodile tears for San Diego Padres or Machado.
but I'll tell you boy can flat flat out play third base and he can hit two man less he almost had the game time man I had not seen a pro team boy can play reaction to a loss like the Padre well yeah those are they almost tied the game Garret Mitchell hey man yep yep made that catch there but you know he gotta hit it farther yep yep that's why we don't know you know what I was worried about was the fan yeah because he because he was on his he was on his mid
It would have been a whole Bartman situation. But here's the difference. When the ball is in the stand, no, the fans have the same right to the ball as the player. And you and come somebody kept saying, I'll talk about Bartman. Like why do we have everybody know the Bartman play? What was that against the Cubs? You know, when he people feel like he lived.
Oh, man, how they had scored him out. But then people would say that that would have made a difference because then the Cubs made all kind of other errors. It changed the momentum. If he would have caught that, man, they would have been out. I remember that as a kid. They'd have been out of that inning. So them doing that. That was on Good Morning America. That following play. But let me say this. That was history.
You got to move on from that play and that's that's the mental toughness piece of it where you have a person come in. He's just hard to move on. Yeah. But hey, hey, money's on the line. Remember a couple years ago when LeBron went up for a layup. Was it against Boston or Philly? And he clearly got filed and they didn't call it and LeBron acted a fool on that court and then Pat Baird.
came with his camera and showed the ref that it was a foul. Some stuff is just hard to get over, man, because that is as blatant as it can be. William Couture and Gary Sanchez, stop burning your challenges.
Let's stop. No, no. Contreras is one of the. No, I know. I know. But this last series, man. He had burnt some crucial ones early. Wait. And then the towards the matter of fact, Gary Sanchez. Well, he got that. Well, Gary Sanchez is terrible, but Contreras, he got that.
He got the second highest. No, he has the highest percentage and most overturned calls. So I trust Contreras. Yeah. But that last not you save those until the end of the night. Because we almost needed one that was close that they called. Yeah. Ball. And he was like he went like this. And it was it was obviously a ball and nothing you can do. It was like man, man. But he but he but some of them be blatantly wrong early on that you got to say, come on, man.
Yeah, but if you just again if you wrong cuz they go today, yeah, man Call one to the program Good morning you on there Yes, good morning, gentlemen I just was calling because I heard the conversation regarding the automatic pay raises And I guess I found it a little interesting because I'm wondering if you gentlemen were aware that they had just gotten a pay raise that literally
They had just gotten a pay raise. After not having had a pay raise for 16 years, they voted to give themselves a pay raise, which they just got. And then they came back and requested another one. They also are the highest paid elected officials in the state aside.
Yes it is. Girl don't call in here talking like that. Introduce yourself. You better act like you've been raised. Hey it's funny how you call her voice. Who is this unreasonable caller? You better acknowledge yourself when you call me. Did it come up on call? I did. It did Brian and I didn't even see it.
But so I'm just saying, though, I just wonder if it would make a difference if you understood that they just got a raise that they are the highest paid elected officials in the state outside of the lieutenant governor. They make a few thousand dollars less than the lieutenant governor. So they make more than state senators, state representatives. Everybody else has an elected official outside of the chief of police in the sheriff. Even more than the counties.
Uh, no, no, I mean, those are like that, you know, the, the, obviously the heads of all these departments or, um, these agency or whatever state government, but I'm just saying, I mean, again, they were already making $80,000. And, and I'm saying this as somebody who supported the phrase is the first time. But what I didn't care for is just ask for what you need the first time. Don't come back.
with a second kick at the can, and then you want another race. When you think about everything that's going on right now, but we just did this a year ago, we just we just raised a salary a year ago, and they came right back. And I agree that there has to, if we ask ourselves, if we ask ourselves to give ourselves a raise, we're gonna say, we're gonna say, yeah, probably 10 out of 10 times.
And so I just think that there needs to be a separate panel who makes this decision because it essentially they could come up and give themselves a raise every single year, you know, and technically, though, they're given the position to raise themselves. No, no, because they're not eligible for it unless they're reelected. But I mean, majority of them going to be reelected because who's fault is that?
Well, and that's why I was talking to Tyrone when I said, well, if you don't like was, you know, the job that these individuals are doing, we got to vote them out. But we I do think that there has to be a level of consciousness when it comes to the automatic people when asking for these raises, because for city workers to get minimal percent as far as like 2% 3% raise, and then you ask for something that's
or you propose something that's almost more than double, you know, and in some cases it is more than double. I don't think that that is right, nor does it look right. Well, who called it an ask, though? I wonder what who voted against it. It was a it was a caller. No, no, I'm asking which orders voted against. Maybe maybe one person, but here's the thing.
If you know something is going to pass, yo one, I don't do it. Is that for a show? Is that to just to say, oh, you see, I didn't agree with this, even though I'm benefited from it? Or or is that something substantial? That's something that you got to take in the context, too. If because a lot of a lot of senators, a lot of US Congress persons.
They will vote Nate on a bill knowing that it's already going to get passed anyway. So then you really don't, you really don't know what they really felt because they already had it in their mind or understanding that this thing was going to get passed. Call a welcome to the program. Good morning. You're in there. I won't say it again. I'm sorry. Forgive me. Oh, yeah. You always forgive me, George. I totally forgot.
It was like sometimes you get so wrapped up in your conversation. You can't apologize y'all. I didn't play in high school. I didn't play basketball. And I didn't play football. I did play baseball, though. What position? Uh, uh, shortstop. Oh man, you had an arm. Well, I didn't really get to play. I didn't really get to play.
Because my attitude was kind of messed up. I kind of got kicked off the team. Because if I was a bench writer, we was getting our best kick one day, and the coach was going to tell me to go into the game. I'm like, man, I'm not going to go into the game. And then I got kicked off the team. But a lot of people think baseball is a boring game.
It is a very exciting game, especially if you know how to play the game. Definitely. The rules of the game. And this is one I want to say about any sport, because I hear people, and I just heard what Tyrone was saying. If nobody made mistakes in baseball, basketball, or football, everybody played the perfect game. It would be a boring sport. Who would win if everybody played the perfect game? Nobody would win, right? Right. So, you know, it's luck.
A lot of people don't realize how much love plays into a lot of the course. Had a stance, you know, because, you know, sometimes, you know, how many times do we see that person who always come through? But then when the stakes is higher, like, like IE paid many. Remember how good he used to play in the regular season? But then in the playoffs, he was a shell of himself. Well, take James Harden, for example. Tell me through the year.
It seems that he'd be killing people, right? Yeah. But on his playoffs, it seems like he just, just appears to do something. The playoffs is different. Alex Rodriguez is the same player. Here's why I'm saying that the playoffs are different. Playoffs, the stakes are higher. Yeah. The way that you're, you're making the adjustments in that game with things during the regular season, you would not do. You're doing, doing the playoffs. The pressure is greater in the playoffs. And as you just cited, George, there are human beings there.
But I think, you know, you, you, you, you just kind of figure who is it? I was watching the game last night when I went, let's not talk cause I wasn't, that was the Cowboys. But I'm just saying it's different in the playoffs in terms of the level of intensity. You know, you have teams who are dominant in the regular season. They're not built for the playoffs, right? The Dodgers are built to win world series based on their payroll. The Brewers are doing it based on their ability, their farm system, grooming and developing players.
But, Keith, you're right about that. I would disagree with you about that. Don't always mean you don't succeed. That's correct. Because look at the Lakers when they had all the money team here. I just knew the Lakers was going to the championship. I've sort of been looking at the 76ers. Remember the 76ers when they had George McGinnis? God, Julius Irving. Who else was on that team? Darryl Dawkins. Man, they were loaded.
And they couldn't win. They lost to chemistry. And then, you know, sometimes, you know, championship, they always say it's a little luck that happens. You know, that luck is that injury bug. You know, if you were able to stay healthy or fairly healthy throughout an entire season, that goes a long way. Imagine how many teams that lost because somebody went down.
And DJ, this is one of the things that I didn't like about Yanis, okay? You know you want another ring, right? And I know you can do what you want to do, but why are you playing? You know your body, your body is getting older, you susceptible injuries. Why are you over in Greece? He's from Greece, right? Yeah, he's from Greece. Why are you over there playing ball? You know, in your body, your body is getting older. Now when you get back here, now you can't finish, because now you keep getting hurt, so.
You know, can a can a team stop you from doing that kind of stuff? Yeah. Yeah. But if you play for your national team and he wanted and he wanted to do what the 2014 did, you know, he want to beat team, you know, all of those foreign players, they want to beat Team USA because for NASA's ended up tearing his Achilles tendon playing. Was that the Olympics, right? Yeah. Yeah, it qualifies. It looks good last night, though.
He was good on Miami. Man, he looked good last night, man. Well, you must have got NBA league or something. Yeah. Well, yeah. And then when the NBA, he played, they played New Orleans last night. And boy. I'm amazed that at these early preseason games, how many of the starters are actually playing? No, they're not playing real meaningful minutes, I think. LeBron played 18 minutes last night. But you gotta remember that they're not playing as many games that they used to.
Right. Was it five pre-season games now? Yeah, five pre-season games. Yes, but they got to play a little bit more now. It used to be more, so then they would play a little less. But now, because the season starts, I think October 22nd or something like that. So that's in a couple weeks. Yep, yep, yep. So y'all forgive me for saying I just get so caught up because I can't stand that dude, man. Oh, here's another thing, too. Can you say the Secretary of State's name or Secretary of War's name?
Yeah. Yeah. Can you say his name? Yeah. Petey. Yeah. Did y'all? Execution. Well, no, I ain't talking about that. I don't agree with that. Unbelievable. I'm not going to watch that. Unbelievable, man. And you're going to have the, and it's open to the public so kids can watch this stuff. And they kind of take me back to them hanging people from trees and kids out there watching all of these public execution. And he's going to stand up there and say, well, he wanted every, he wanted to be public so people will know not to go against the United States Army.
But you know, I was about right because he thinks he is macho macho guy, right? Y'all didn't see y'all didn't see the tape. I'm not trying to train with the truth. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, you know, he would have talked about no beard or no weirdos and all that kind of stuff. This administration is, I don't know what to say about this administration, man. And Keith, I do get what you're saying.
Here's the argument I used to have okay, we can't have that now cuz I gotta go Dang it. Okay. Yeah Thank you. Thank you Clark Kent you've been quiet today, but thank you, sir
Go, Pat, go. He said, thank you, Jesus. Thank you, too. I can't. Oh, man, go to the doctor, man. Go to the doctor, man. Also, we thank you. Callers, we thank you to Good Lord Will and Creek. Don't rise. Hope to talk to everybody tomorrow and as always.
