Community Voice · Fri Oct 2, 2026

Good morning. Welcome to Community Voice. I'm your host Keith Parris. I want to thank everyone for joining us this morning as I put my speech pathology to work this morning. I'm properly pronouncing my TH's this morning. This morning as opposed to this morning. What up Clark? Who you with? Hey man, what you bruh? Apostle.

Chairman of three out of the six boys I was when I was walking in I saw this car truck started singing just be thankful for what you got sunroofed with the gangsta league

Well, we got the players ball All I know is she better have my money You know one of my favorite lines from that movie was when he was talking to Richard Pryor he was like man, I just can't see how

just a fine woman could just be working all day. And then at the night, at the end of the night, give all that money to another man. And then, uh, Richard Pire was like, game's tight. He said.

I want to talk about me, I want to talk about your mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about your mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about my mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about my mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about my mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about my mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about my mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about my mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about my mother. I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about me, I want to talk about

some hip set and she cost a 70 though. No, she's younger than me. Really? Yeah. But they said she had her 60s then. She had an age well and but they showed it was her but it was Lila Rashad who still looks good. Yeah. You know, and I wonder how many people walk up to her and call her sunshine.

Yeah, you know, I mean she has some iconic roles in the 90s and that and sunshine was in the 80s 80s, you know, but yeah, Harlem Knights was like in 88 89 But uh, you know that that waiting to exhale movie And 89

No, she wasn't No, I almost misspoke because I had a thought that she might have been in soulful, but no, she's not in soulful She's in another movie though But waiting to exhale was another big movie that she was in and that was definitely in the 90s, right? Yeah. Yeah, so she She got a lot of iconic roles that And a lot of people forget

She was Sean's first girlfriend on the Wayne's Brothers. For sure I never saw. You never saw the Wayne's Brothers? Never saw the Wayne's Brothers? No, that is hilarious. It got funnier once Dee came in. She played in A Man. Played in a security guard? Mm-hmm. Hilarious. I forget her real name, but we call her Dee on the show. But when Dee came on...

To me that's when that's when Wayne Brothers really took off. Yeah. Yeah. She was that woman was a writer for Richard Pryor Really? Really? Mm-hmm. She was young. No, she couldn't have been. She was a kid. You said D? D. Yeah, that was her name. That was her name. And what role did she play? She played the security guard.

That was always in the cafe on the way. So if you ain't saw the waves brother, then you won't understand the cap. But she played on Amen. Yeah. What she played. Amen. She was she dated. She dated like the one in the pastor or something. Yeah. Yeah. The one dude that had swag. The dark skin. Brown skin to do. Brown skin to do. That was the pastor. What was his name? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She was. Yeah. She was a writer for Richard Pryor. Really? Yes. Wow.

Yeah, man. Great accolade, man. Yeah. I mean, there's a lot of those. But she was young though. I mean, she could still be, you know. When was the when was the when, brother? Yeah, 90s. In the mid 90s. In the early 2000s. Dude, the funniest episode is when Marley saw

old happy days. The Winnie-Hunt was the him and King sweat that was in that play and he was taking over the play. It's so mean to you now. It's the funniest episode. Wow, I'm gonna have to go in. When they was on Jerry Springer, they acted a fool. They acted a fool on Jerry Springer. Dude, them boys ain't got no sense. One of my favorite scenes because Pops was

was feeling like he was being a disappointment to Sean. And so they were trying to get some help from Dee. And Dee left. And he said, Dee, bring your ass back here. And she said, is that how you talk to a lady? And he said, Dee, would you please bring your ass back here?

She was crazy. She was crazy. She was crazy. She was crazy. She was crazy. She was crazy. She was crazy.

That's why I always say like hilarious. I grew up in probably the best time because That's why I never

I never really understood the whole inferiority piece because when I was growing up It was it was black is black is beautiful. You know, I'm proud to be black and then we had all this good record Representation and everywhere we had it. We had it in sports. We had it in our TV programs and a lot of our TV programs was about family, you know, even though

Even though the Wayne brothers was like comedy, but it was it was centered around family and structure. Yeah, you know what I mean? And so My generation was like a bridge between Like I said my generation is the last generation where we say like oh, this was old-school music and we know we talking about

Patty LaBelle, or Luther Vandross, or Stevie, or the Temptations. Now, now the kids, they say, no, now they talking about Miguel is old school and Neo is old school. They call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it, they call it

It was universally understood what old school was. Now, you know, old school is T.I. You know what I'm saying? That's OG. Old school is relative. It's like hearing Frankie say back in the day. And I'm going Negro, you talking four weeks ago. But I remember pay phones. I remember house phones. Technology.

That whole that whole world Oh, yeah, when they got stuck in that cave He had what he had won't pop. No, he's And then they had they had hugged each other they had a kumbaya moment and then pop said I just got one question

Why did you slap me? I would say like the first two seasons. He was also a writer. Yeah, he was. The first two seasons, you got to warm up to it. But when D came, aw man, that show was undeniably funny. TC? TC was that player.

like now we don't have that many black family shows well they don't they don't be t plus and they ratchet yeah if they ratchet then that's that's not that's not what we grew up on exactly so now it's like a black ratchet household of the mama cussing the kids out yeah and remember you can go until my old my old man face but

I was just watching EET one day with my mama, and I was like, I didn't heard about six cuss words. They cussin' all year now. And I'm talkin' about real cussin'. I'm talkin' about SHIT. Yeah!

Yeah, the only thing they're not dropping is the F bond. That's the only thing they're not dropping. They said B, they said. I got to find what you did. You need to watch the Miss Pat Show. And that's all PEC plugs. You really go hear some words in the Pat Show. Doc, I mean, they say MFs, they say. What? Yeah. He called you. Bro. And it's like the Black family. Like I said, cussing out our kids. I would say one of the. I'm like, what? I would say one of the more. That never, that didn't start happening until what, two weeks ago?

No, well your mama cuss you out. Well, no, but I know your mom. Yeah. Yeah. So what I'm saying is my mama did. My mom ain't cuss me out. But they saw this. She said a curse word to me one time and I was like, hey, see, but they saw this on TV as this is the black family. They don't show they don't show them to me how the white family cussed their kids out and how they kids cussed their parents. Because I was just about to bring up, you know, even even even the programs that has nothing on the Cosby's.

Right. When you talk about the Parkers, that was still a good, that was still a good program and it was very respectful, you know, an impoverished single mother, you know, and then you go to one-on-one with Flex Washington. You know what I'm saying? A single dad, a single father was something that we didn't always see. It wasn't no real ratchetness on another program. Ratchetness sells.

Hey those programs so to those programs had over a hundred pro hundred show see a PG You know, I like I like this man. I want to see already movie. I'm grown See and that's why I say listen on TV Limit my cussing. Yeah, but in my music, you better not play me no edited version In my music

You better play the fool. So what if you got, you know, what if you got some little ones around? Well, I don't play that. I put on, I put on some R.B. or something. Oh, no. I'm saying if you have, if you have your kids around and you still want to hear that music but not with the explicit language, then the wood, you would, wouldn't, wouldn't it mean the or lose that sentence would lose some meaning.

that point. Well, no, definitely lose that meaning. Well, not so much because I don't I don't know what he listens for when he listens to to records. But for me, the majority of the record, I'm listening to the music and that's what catch me. So he might listen more to the lyrics. So it depends. Yeah, I listen to the lyrics, the lyrics and then the music, the music, too. You know what I'm saying? Because I

The lyrics is always number one for me and then and then a good beat or whatever. Yeah, but like it's reverse it comes but it's different because rap I Look for lyrics first and then they'd be yeah R&B and old school like enchantment

They music is what dove me into, yeah. And then once I heard the lyrics, I was like, oh, it's cold. See, for me, when I first heard 50, I heard it's your birthday, so I heard that beat. And I'm like, man, this sound like a Dr. Dre beat, because I'm a fan of West Coast producers. So when I hear that sound, it automatically register with me, because I can pinpoint. So then when I heard the beat and heard the lyrics, I'm like, oh, wait a minute, the food is nice. So yeah. Yeah.

We approach it differently. What? Mm-hmm So, how do you approach the key? Well, they didn't they didn't grow with that. So if it was cussing this stuff We came up with NWA man

Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank

Oh, yeah, if you keep on going The first rap the first rap rap ever heard was blow fly So like I said, bro

You missed definitely a grown thank you. You got a high school You know you didn't That ain't coming up with him. You came up with who in the blowfish. Yeah, y'all came up with Elvis Who came up with run DMC run DMC Run DMC

I definitely came up with Marvin Gaye when he was clean cut, bro. Listen, when you say 89, 89 is not your average. He was in the 50s, 60s like that. No, he did. He did what's going on. What was what? That's in the 70s. 72, 73. Yeah. It's about what? It's about what? All right. Right. I have a boy in the 60s. I came up. Hey, listen. At 89, you was grown. Yeah, Doc. You was 29. Which car came out well?

Sugar Hill came out about 79. 79. Right. So that's that's your era G. He was born in the 60s. Sugar Hill. Sugar Hill is your era G. He still came up with NWA. Rappers Delight. No, NWA. Hey, Clark. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You didn't come up with him, see. So I can't say, I cannot say right now that I came up with. I did.

Whatever whatever new rapper is out. I'm grown right. Do you grown right? So you're you're elementary middle school No, but I'm talking about coming up. I'm saying it's not true is that if that John Ray didn't exist When I was a kid right and then when it did exist, you know like when cuz I was My senior year in college was rappers delight. That's 79. Yeah, but you didn't but you didn't come up

off of Jodeci because he was a grown man when Jodeci came out. Even if I did come up off of Jodeci, I ain't claiming those dudes. So no, I didn't. But that's what I'm saying. And what I'm saying is that once you get to a point, though, like I told people, I missed a lot of rap because I was still listening to the Quiet Storm. Right. So you was an R&B dude. Yeah. You know, most of them was rap rap.

No, no, I had buddies though. They were down with it. They caught it. Now, you gotta remember, this is the other piece of it. But in the Midwest, rap wasn't that big. Like in Chicago, it was big everywhere else, but Chicago. Chicago's still doing rhythm and blues.

Milwaukee takes a lot of his influences for what happens in Chicago. So, you know, you didn't get a great Chicago rapper until you got Kanye. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

They it and I was underground dudes was going like man. Yeah, we wouldn't rapping. Yeah, that was that was all New York was rapping. You have to hip hop, you know, all up and down the East Coast and even then even in DC, it wasn't even rapping. They were still doing go go. Yeah, cuz cuz I mean that song a bus stop. That's a form of rap in the first stop. And then that bus stop. Hey, that was out in the I saw that I saw that video and that was cold.

That's in the 70s or when that was out. So yeah, it was different. So even when I came back, I'm going like, oh man, because I never forget I was at a party. And it's the first time I'd heard someone do this where they were playing a song and they had Richard Pryor talking over the song. And then Rappers The Light came out.

And then you began to get Curtis Blow. Yeah, Curtis Blow. You know, what is it? That was somebody else. Well, I'll tell you. Africa Bimbata. Africa Bimbata. Boogie Down Productions. But it was still West Crue. Yeah, you know, but it was still kind of East Coast. Yeah, right. The rest of the country wasn't really kind of down with that. And then when NWA came out.

you know from the West Coast. They were fighting for the men. Yeah, because the first song NWA brought out, it was Dope Man. Dope Man, Dope Man. The first song came out, but they brought Easy Out at the Dope Man came out. That's when Easy came out. So when did?

When did DOC come out? DOC came out about 90 something. About 90. About 90, 91, 92 something like that. Yeah. Cause, cause uh. No. Aw. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Man, because I was, I was in middle school. I thought, I thought NWA came out in the late 80s. Yeah. It came in. It came out by 88. No sir. No sir. DOC came up after them. DOC was writing for uh, for uh, Dr. Dre.

Right, so he he came out in like the late 80s early 90s. Yeah, cuz I was listening to him on the school bus to with the head cuz uh cuz uh, he's supposed to be they next deal see But he did have an album out though. Yeah. Yeah. The formula right right so That wasn't before NWA about 90 No, no, that was after what?

Yeah, that's right. Can I go say? Yeah, how much I got to look that up? No, it's about 80, about 90, about 90, 89, 90. All right, you're listening to Community Voice.

1989 Yeah, I was in little school born into high school. I started high school in 90 Yeah, I remember being on the bus in the back. I'm the formula The teacher came out to show came out with my 80s

You're listening to Community Voice. We're gonna take a quick break and we'll be right back. Your host, Keith Parris.

All right, welcome back to Community Voice. Let's do this. I have a question I want to ask, so I'm going to get this out the way. I don't know if anybody watched WNBA last night. The aces and the fever. That was a great game. That's a dumb question. No, because it was tight. In the end, it won the second game, right? Yeah, they won the game at home. The aces have

Asia Williams Wilson Wilson my bad She's the best player in the WNBA so it was it's good so we got you know got that going on obviously the Brewers yeah take on the Padres Padres take on the Fathers

Mr. Rouse, he's pitching tomorrow. Game one, baby. Game one. Awesome. We should see. You know, it was interesting what they do, though, in the wild card game. Because you play all the games at the one stadium. Well, you play two. No, no. You play all. They played all the games in Atlanta. Yeah, because it's best two out of three. Best two out of three. But if they would have split, they would have. Just they would have. Yes, they do, bro. That happened last year.

They play all three games at the team with the better record. They don't travel. They don't travel. So I thought that was because they played last night was game three with the Braves. And they played in Atlanta. And they played in Atlanta the other night. I think that's the format. I'll look it up just to be sure. I thought it was two. If you got home, it's two there. And then it'll be if it's best of five.

But in major league baseball. Yeah, I thought it was it was split like you play two is two and one. Major league baseball format. Because that wouldn't be fair to the other team. Yeah.

Yep, the 2024 used a best of three format where all games would play that the home stadium of the higher seeded team So what about this year? They did this year. They did it this year. Yeah, but some say 2024 Yeah, it started in 2024, but they did this year No, because I know I saw it with Atlanta. They did last year with the with the Brewers No, did they get a buy? Did they get a buy last year?

Yeah, bro's gotta buy they gotta buy but yeah, you play those three games. They don't travel Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, I wouldn't like that So they said the Padres, I don't know how the Brewers did against the Padres this year War to be in a fight the Pats Who the Pats? Yeah, all right See what else we got here. We got a call a caller. Welcome to the program

Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. What's happening? You see McCartney and Rogers, man. They were going at it last night, huh? Yeah. Yeah. Really? Oh, man. Yeah. TJ White got the headphones. He cussing up the storm upstairs. He looked at the bag last night for him. Yeah, because you can't be losing to the brown.

Well, listen, listen, they I mean they were I mean Aaron was touching on the field McCartney caught him a ain't no TJ got the head set on the defense, but didn't they have issues when he coached him here? Well, I didn't know but I never see him get down like how they got down last night though. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it seems like in Roger's just an old man now. And that's how he's acting.

And he's grumpy. He's a pre-Madonna. He did have some nice passes to Metcalfe though. I mean, it was vintage Aaron Rodgers, but amen. You know, hindsight is 20-20. He never just takes the blame, bro. He never takes the blame. And I want to say that the little, what you say? My fault, my fault, my fault. You lucky.

What is it? You lucky we can't, you lucky I can't, the phone messed up. Cause if it was, if it wasn't messed up, this button was pressed, but the phone messed up. So that's, that's God, you know, having grace on you. Don't do it again. What I was going to say was that, you know, he choked several of our playoff games and one of them, which I will never forgive them for is the one against the buccaneers.

We was one game away from the Super Bowl. We had Tom Brady in the fourth quarter, throw three straight interceptions, three straight interceptions in the fourth, and we did not capitalize on it, dude. Well, dude, like you said, he never takes the blend.

And then he holds the ball too long and then he looks at everybody else like why you didn't hold the line do you pass the ball like he'll take a sack before you throw interception That's why that's why I like to I like the fire then because fire was Augusto. He would throw that ball down there. Yeah, well

He also holds the record of most interceptions in the NFL. So that kind of tells you where we are. Hey, but guess what? I still think he had better quarterback there. I think, no, I think Aaron Rodgers is a better quarterback because Aaron Rodgers didn't have the interceptions that Brett Farrell did. Plus, I saw Brett Farrell quit in two games, so I lost a lot of respect for him. Lost a lot of respect. I've been lost respect for Rodgers because a guy told me before.

And I believe him, like the ball landed and he was on the field. The ball landed. Aaron didn't catch the ball. The ball landed. Aaron looked at the guy. Like everyone's going to pick it up and look at the guy. And so the guy picked the ball up to give to him. Like man, if you don't pick the ball up, you're going to give yourself. But you know, Aaron Rodgers is like Michael Jordan. Drop the ball. See if you get it again.

Yeah, if you get it again, if you get it again. Yeah, you won't. Yeah, that's Michael Jordan. Miss the shot and see if you get it, if you get another. It'll be a minute. Yeah, it's gonna be a real minute. All right, man. All right, y'all. All right, Carla, welcome to the program. Hey, Chief. What's up? Good morning, Yarnere. What up, DJ? What's going on, Trey? Hey, check it out. I got so much hate this morning, man. Bring it on.

to Milwaukee Brewers. Historic year, 103 wins. Best record in baseball. They're not loose to the Padres, but they did great this year, except a woman, a white woman, was in the parking lot tailgating. One of the Brewers raffle ticket lady walked by and sold her a couple of raffle tickets. Guess what?

She went in. She won. She started running with her overweight husband. I'm not going to call him fat, but he was struggling to run behind his wife. Call him fat. No, I know. I know the story. Yeah, they they wrong for that. Yeah. She got there. They said she got there late. No. That's the argument. No, no, no. They never they never told her where to go, where to go. So when she arrived.

to a spot they said oh no you have to go to this place and so obviously she got but that's that's wrong you know you gotta give you give me the proper instructions and then determine if I got there on time and I but don't get don't it was a big good yeah don't not give me the right instructions bro it was $30,000 yeah and I think that was a scam man

They purposely didn't want to pay her out. So they sent her on the mission. Okay, what what what other hate you got man? That's it because you know the brewer brewers are so beloved. I just bought a new outfit for the playoffs I gave it away last week Christmas came early Yeah, man, I hate them. I hate the brewers everything about him. Hey, they got what they got about

Uh, I don't know. They got 10 millionaires in the dugout. Why they couldn't throw 2000 in a hat and pay that lady? Yeah, somebody should have heard about that in there because that's what Michael Jordan did. Didn't she sue? Yeah, she sue. Yeah, but she's in court now. But uh, no, no, the judge said that it's up to the Brewers and the Brewers already said that it's invalid. But in the, I want to say in the 90s or was it the 80s?

I do hit a half court shot. Oh, yeah. Uh, yeah. And the Bulls tried to play him. Yeah. And so, and so Michael Jordan ended up just giving the guy the money. You called, didn't you call D.J. on the Bulls? The players could have threw 2,000 a picture and I hadn't paid that lady man. Yeah, they could. So I hate the Bulls. All right. I'm out. All right. Is that why you hate the Bulls?

I wanted to ask them what about the Packers. Because if you would have said the Packers, me and Trey wouldn't have been on the same side in a moment. This kind of hit me. And this is really a change. Talk about change of directions. Change of directions. And I want to ask this question. Phone line is open. Chat is open. Do we have a different reaction?

when white folks kill black folks as opposed to when black folks kill black folks. And what made me think about this is the young lady down in Jackson, Mississippi, who was found hanging from a tree in a backyard. And because she was hanging from a tree, I think it invoked images of lynching. And so immediately,

We thought, oh man, they lynching, right? There's coming on also the heels of Nolan Wells. And let me ask a question around Nolan Wells. If Nolan Wells was out kicking it with his black friends and he didn't come back, what would be our reaction? No, I'm saying after. So we talked about this in a production meeting. It's a two-fold answer to this question.

My just on face value No, the reaction is it isn't different because you know, we Literally see it every day on the news where people are saying stop the violence the senseless violence that shouldn't be going on and people are pleading, you know for

you know, individuals to come forward in some cases. And then also you have so many, you know, rallies and programs to try to have some preventative measures of of this, uh, you know, unnecessary violence that that happens. I say so that's that's my first answer for the no. Our reaction is a different. I say yes, because when white.

Folks are involved. They seem to not get the same discipline and consequence as it is for when it's a quote unquote black on black crime. Obviously, that's not a thing because crime is based on proximity. But just for the purposes of this conversation, you know, if if our neighbors who are black have a situation go on.

And someone loses their life. They are immediately being arrested. They are immediately being charged. And in all likelihood, history has shown us that one of them will have an extensive prison stay. We have not consistently seen that with white folks. And so, yeah, that that's my question.

is then why, when people thought that this possibly, again, with this young lady, could have been a lynching. And it possibly still could have, because it's the state of Mississippi, and I don't believe nothing they tell us. So Mark, you sent me that article. I need more than just that article. Well, the family, the family came out and said, y'all, it ain't what you trying to make it out to be. It's Mississippi. My question is,

I'll get ready to say, you know, whole lot of niggas die in other places other than Mississippi. All right. Well, Emmett Till didn't die in a whole lot of other places. I got that. But then... Nolan Wells didn't either. Yeah. But George didn't die in Mississippi. He died in Minnesota. And if it wasn't for the pandemic and if it wasn't for...

But I guess I'm curious why Why is that reaction that that was an anomaly? Why is that reaction? Why was that reaction? Different once we found out that now now this situation was that it was a drug deal went wrong It says something about the people who then did it because they figured we could throw people off our trail by making it look like a lynching But what is that saying? I don't think that is different because if so

These people again goes to my ladder point these people are arrested and charged But if murder can't even we still But if murder is so you say that there's different types of murder no what I'm Well, yes and no, but what I'm saying is when when black people are considered to be the perpetrators of said crime

They're charged. Okay. They're they're put in prison. Right. But it but it but it all but it goes our reaction before it goes into everything. But nobody is saying that. Oh, if a if a black person commits a crime is not a big deal. Nobody is saying that and we have a big deal. But it's a big deal. It's a big deal. It's a big deal when a white person kills a black person. It's a big because they get to go home. Is that why it's a big deal? Yes.

And every case majority of them. Okay. So that's what it is. Yeah. Okay. 41444452504144445250 because the dude who got shot at the liquor store is still he was still murdered. Right. So I'm trying to say but are there marches for that dude?

It stopped the violence initiatives and programs and things that go on every year Every year I Think the reaction is different and I'm just I'm not saying that you're wrong for having a different reaction. I'm just trying to figure out what goes into that reaction where Someone has died So and so when we say all lives matter

Black Lives Matter Does does is it a different black life when that black life was killed by a white person or by a white cop as? Opposed to that black person being killed by a black person what people want is justice, okay? That that's that's and so clearly I'm talking about a reaction. It's the black when it's the black but but that

you saying it as if that they're not synonymous with each other. I don't think they're related. I don't know if they're synonymous. They're synonymous with each other because when you have, let's just say a crime, there is supposed to be a consequence for that crime. Now, when you have suspects that have not been charged or arrested,

That is an issue you put it that but that's a separate. That's not a separate issue for what I'm asking you. I'm asking you why is the reaction different? The reaction is indifferent because let's just say I commit a murder. It's going to be a outcry on that specific thing. But then once it's found out that I'm arrested and charged now.

it begins to move on to another process. Okay, but that's different. A lot of times. I'm talking about how we react and respond to what we say. So just off of face value, I think it's the same. Call it one to the program. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning to everyone in the studio. Good morning. In regards to the topics, you know, when I hear about

There are some African Americans being hung in the south and you know, the theory is is that hey, you know, just as white supremacy It's a scary feeling For that to happen However, we're constantly It's a lot of homicides in urban areas in the country and we don't give that

as much attention as we're thinking somebody got hung by some white folks in the South. There's something wrong with that right there. And for everyone listening, we need to do better as a race of people in regards to killing each other. Every time something happens, you know, it's affecting our race. Thank you. All right. See? 4144.

What do you mean see he he's literally telling you that See he's literally right. He's not see like crew See as in vision. All right, bro. Call him up to the program, bro. Thank you for So I I was blind but now I I

Well, good morning. Well, the reason why people are able to get away with stuff because I know we're not talking about that. My question, I want you to answer the question. The question is, why do we have a different reaction when a white person will kill a black person?

as opposed to when a black person kills a black person. As a white person, get off. That's why. Well, I can tell you why. Well, first of all, you have a low... You have a... Well, not you. There's a low value when a black person kills a black person. They put a higher value on a white person when they kill a black person, when they're supposed to be equal. Well, what... Do we do it? You say what? Do we do it? Yeah, but you're just...

Okay, I'm just gonna act like I'm sitting at the table and I'm drinking black velvet and I don't. Okay. When black people do, when black people kill each other, y'all say that's yes or no. When a white person do it, y'all get all upset. But it should be equal. I disagree with that. Well, you can disagree with it, but it is what it is. That's not true though. What's not true?

that when when black people kill another black person they say that's just another nigga no it's not because we see we see this all the time and people have consistently said when it's black on black crime that that's ridiculous the senseless crime needs to stop you not organizing a march marches have been had because of that though no because june killed right out

at the liquor store. We ain't doing no marches. Come on, man. There you go, Gabe, man. I say it specifically for Ryder. We ain't doing no marches for Ryder. That's right. I ain't going nothing. We need more than a march. What we need is to vote. But see, we don't put nobody in the position because black people feel that they vote a certain way.

they're going to go to hell. When you see people getting off, they don't care how it looks to society. They're going to vote for their people. Black people, y'all can have somebody who's a mountain lion. Y'all say, well, I ain't going to vote for him or her because she's going to make us look bad. But that's the only person who's going to go against the mountain lion. And then you have the racist white people. They say, oh, they're in hell with them. All you got to do is just show Jesus in their face and tell them they're going to hell. Oh, the Lord of the North is not right. So the white people, what they're going to do, they're going to exploit that.

And that's why they're able to win. And that's why we've seen here, that's why some of black people say, Lord, where you at? Where you at? Where you at? And the white people say, we're going to fall like this whether we like it or not. Let them stay mentally stopped. And that's why we're where we are. You don't hear no white people doing that. And they're getting their head in right now. They're killing us right now. And then they saying it's suicide when we know it's not suicide. And they don't copy this.

But that people are always trying to make themselves a little good to the enemy. You don't want to hurt the enemy still. I want to shake your hand. I want to shake your hand. I want you to put it in a blender and feed it to the animal. No, no, no, no. I'm going to go to hell. And that's why we are where we are. I appreciate you. We got to go to break. You're listening to Community Voice. That's the question, y'all. I know we come back with you perspective, but is there a different reaction?

And I know when I do the why the why kind of takes us into well, but But there I just wonder why is and maybe I'm you know, maybe there should be a different reaction You listen to community voice again, it's free flow Friday join the studio by DJ the protege Clark Kent And the late great

Alright now it's time for the protege's perspective within the past few weeks

I was on a journey to accomplish and achieve probably the biggest feat to date personally. I wanted it so bad that I could barely sleep. This opportunity consumed about 90% of my energy. I was completely gushing about this opportunity. I studied, I prayed, and I visualized me accepting this opportunity and me breaking the news to all of my loved ones. In my mind, this is my North Star.

I haven't felt this excited or nervous in a tremendously long time. While waiting for answers, I felt my faith wavering and my patience non-existent. My anxiety was through the roof and honestly, it was uncontrollably sky high. Preparation for the opportunity and the deliberation after it left me with a question. Does patience and faith go hand in hand? Also,

Is it possible to have one without the other? Throughout this entire process, I was so anxious and frankly, I was unlike my normal confidence. So I was so eager to make so many people proud. And I also had people who I wanted to silently stick it to. This opportunity was so big in my eyes that it was a can't miss situation. Well, I missed it.

Now I was left feeling disappointment, defeated, and dejected. I keep going back to the pressure I put on myself and those two instrumental words, patience and faith. If they go hand in hand, then maybe I never even stood a chance. And if it's possible to have one without the other, hindsight has informed me that I had neither as well. Patience.

has always been a struggle of mine, and faith has always been present, but doubt will creep in at a moment's notice. In this moment, I'm still unsure if patience and faith go hand in hand, or even if it's possible to have one without the other, but I relish the day I met with another great opportunity again. For that moment, I'll reassure myself that I am the man.

Just got laughing at me over here This one of my first times where I didn't mess up Within you know doing a perspective and it would have been easy to but you know And you shared how you was really feeling See that's that's why I don't like being vulnerable

It was the acceptance speech. First of all, I'd like to thank my mama. My mama who made this all possible. I had a dinner planned out. This two star line.

What he said he did, what he said he did the acceptance. He had to written out the acceptance speech. I was like, oh my God, he lost it. Yeah, man, you got, but let me, let me say this. And I didn't, when you text me and told me, I didn't react either way because the race is not always given to the fastest nor bread to the wise.

Now the scripture says everybody said he didn't do it to the end. Nope. What it's saying is think about and this is what I had put in perspective when I got rejected. How many jobs did I get that I had no business getting? You know what I'm saying? Think about some of the opportunities you got and so then it balances itself out and there's probably something bigger where you would have thought oh man and then boom.

You know so it it all and I know what that feels like man. You like you at your lowest It's like oh man, they rejected me and da da da da da and there's some things out there that we just don't control Unfortunately, and then we think I did everything right now think about the times though I did everything wrong And I still prevail and then you come to work at the radio station

and get laughed at. He makes it even worse. I wasn't laughing at his failure. He bought a new suit. Standing in the mirror. Oh, man, he terrible. Oh, man, I done did that, man. I showed him and it didn't happen like, dude, I'm just invested in this tuxedo. What do you mean? Like Kevin Hersey laughing my pain.

You still got you still got your life. Yeah, still got your job. You still got friends like me. Well, you know, like they say in the church, I heard a preacher say, you can't be victorious unless you're a victim. So yeah, so help us. Hey.

help us know what it's like and don't let anybody come up here and say to you what God has for you is for you that is no consolation because because I mean because again though his thoughts are not our thoughts so he could be thinking amen this is a huge job but in reality God can be preparing him for something that's way bigger than what I got all of that but don't don't sit up here telling me that what God has this this now

It's hard to say it could be but hey man. Yeah, who knows Caller Still terrible You're in there, thank you. Thank you very much Because waiting on the phone I missed the perspective and it seemed to be pretty good. Yes

Anyway, the question about the keys question, yeah, there's a couple things, two things, basically involved. One is like the baby in the well syndrome, where when there's a baby in the well, everybody gets all excited, he gets in the news, you know, the baby's been in the well for four hours, baby's been in the well for six hours.

you know and everybody's like they're gonna dig another well right beside it you know and everybody comes out a hero and you know if the baby makes it you know so it's like it we will spend all this emotional capital on this baby in the well all the time we got like I don't know thousands of babies who just need a box a baby formula or half gallon of clean water and it's like you know

They just die. Okay, but there's another thing that you talked about is not just who dies and who kills them, but the race of who dies and who kills them. And in that sense, we're kind of all playing our parts. All right. And our parts that we say, you know, okay, these other people have different rules than us.

They have different values than us. Different foods than us, different music than us, different whatever. And because they have these different things, they are worth less than us. And we all do it. I mean, you can't say you don't do it. You can't say you don't do it if you're always talking about, well, there's not enough people that look like me.

Or you say, or why don't they fix that crime situation in Milwaukee? We go back and forth with this stuff all the time. Is there a different reaction when a person kills a black person as opposed to when a black person kills a black person and why is it? Because of whose group is feeling. Whose group is feeling, all right?

And it's not just, you know, if you're in that group, you feel it more. If you're out of that group, you feel it less. I appreciate you. Got no call? You know what I was listening to coming in this morning? Sensitivity.

And the line in the song is you need a man like me who's sensitive Yeah, so I did a lot of dirty macking back then so what that is I've been listening like we were talking about lyrics my bad, but it's a lot of dirty macking that happened back in the day I Don't do all that. I don't got to huh. I ain't never hated on nobody. I always got hated on now that

Made me sensitive. That hurt my feelings. What's that? People hate me because I was like, dang, that's what you're like. You're not a hater. I don't know another man to get another woman. Never. But what if you really, really, you know, you want it? Then she ain't for me. But eventually you could be that you could be that philosophical. No, but eventually.

I mean, it's hard to, you know, turn down this charm. It's hard. You got to be superwoman to do that. I don't even think superwoman can. I see. I was over here feeling all bad because I took advantage of his vulnerability. And then I sit up and I hear this. I hear this. We talking about hating on another man to get a woman.

Yeah, I wouldn't even hate on no, I wouldn't even hate on nobody to get a job or not like that. That's just not oh, man Join the real world join the real world That's that's just never and I'm not you know what and in some ways it's it's probably good that you didn't You know what I'm saying cuz you don't know but still yeah, I'd be hating I got in trouble because I was talking about the brother

I get some tissue. The brother from New York under the cover. The Puerto Rican dude and I was called pretty, right? And people, hey, you can't call another man pretty. If the dude is good looking, the dude is good looking. Ain't no pretty Ricky. What they call. So I'm saying, yeah, man, look, and the thing about hate is hate don't make no sense. Right. I had to learn. I hate old John Legend. It don't make any sense. Let's do the thing he's supposed to do. But I will say.

When I was hating on Ben Simmons, it made a lot of sense. It made sense, man. It made sense. Now, I can acknowledge my hate, but I was hating because it was just going too far. It got to be substantiated. But the thing with Ben Simmons was it was all up here, right? But even before his issues with Dr. Rivers, they were calling him like the next.

Magic. And I was like, what? Oh, man. And I don't know. He won't like magic. He played with Ruth Hornsby's son at LSU. Yeah. And that's one of the reasons why I was hating on Ben Simmons, because you can't be compared to Magic Johnson and you not even get your team to the tournament.

at that time in a weaker SEC, you know, and you know, you are labeled as a generational talent. So I was like, no, you can't do that. Can you say this one more time? You should not be compared to Magic Johnson. What about that kid from Delaware? He's to Michael Jordan.

I don't know how well we almost called the authorities on you I said wait no because you said that's not true. That's not his nickname I said

Look it up. And when you looked it up, that's when it proved that that's what they was calling. They was calling him the white Michael Jordan of Delaware. I don't agree with it because he don't play none like Jordan to me. But out in Delaware, they don't see nothing. So I guess he was the closest thing. We almost just called the authorities on you. I don't call him that. I never been to Delaware.

There's a deranged man on air right now. I've never been to Delaware. Who do they compare AJ Green to? Jesus Sutterworth. No, I don't know. Jesus Sutterworth. Well, I mean, but you do have to look at this. I am going to the open practice before the whole, you know, tailgating.

And, you know, get a chance to actually see, you know, what they look like in the open practice and how they, you know, ball and shoot and play together. The first preseason season game is Monday, so that's really going to kind of, you know, give you an idea. It's going to be a tough year. I don't think so. Come on, Bruce. I think they're going to exceed expectations, man.

because again, again, like you said, when you're hungry, you run fast and you play harder. So here is a team with a whole bunch of players that got chips on their shoulders. Anybody playing for contracts? Yeah. Yeah. I know what I was saying before the season started was that this should be an enjoyable season as a fan because we have no expectations. Right.

You know, all of that, all of that is gone. So now we could just watch the game. Will we get excited or will we get frustrated? Yeah, because that's just the throes of the emotion. But just like, just to be able to go into a season and just to see what whatever unfolds, if they may play a team tough, they lose, but we like, oh, man, they gotta, they get one, one, two, three more pieces, you know, or.

You know, they just maybe get you to about February. They just may be terrible. I'm saying, but if they terrible, then you know that. And then you just go into the game to have fun, you know, go. My brother in law, my brother in law texts me and he said, he said, brother law, you want to you want to get on the bandwagon, the Miami bandwagon? And he said, not the dolphins, the Canes, because Canes pretty well.

And I said, no, when the team is this bad, that's when you become that's when you become a football fan. No, that's when you become a football fan. You a bandwagon anyway. So we don't know. I want to come to the pack. You look warm. I want to come to the pack. You you're talking about booing the Packers. Oh, no, real Packer fans is going to boo the Packers. Yeah, well, a whole lot of real Packer fans booed them. They not real booed about the stadium last week as well.

Well, they should they not real Packer fan. Oh, they not man. You do not boo the home team The only exception is if you see poor Effort no, no, no poor effort bonehead plays Sometimes people have bad days man. You know, you don't boo just because they've had a series of bad days. What are they record?

One and two, right? So if they win on Sunday, they'll be two and two, right? Okay. So last I checked that doesn't make him a juggernaut, but it don't make them terrible. It's some O and three teams right now. And people are saying that the package are worse than them. No, they not. Our Houston is Tampa Bay, Houston, Tampa Bay, who we should be. And then also the chargers.

You cannot tell me that the Packers are worse than a team that don't have no wins. So do you think that the Packers is better than Cleveland? Cleveland got more wins than the Packers, no. No, well, I mean, they can have more wins because they have an easier schedule. Yeah, who they play. Yeah. You know what? I just, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna do what I've done in the past, get to the mid-season.

I just gave up hope. You're gonna jump off early. Jump off early. It gave up. It's a long season. I'm a football fan, and it'll be a lot longer. But here's the thing, though. When Jay-La was his first year as a quarterback. What you call Jay-La?

Call his whole name. He ain't that good. He earned a nickname. He earned a nickname for me, man. Give him a call about his government name. This is my first time. This is my first time having a black Green Bay quarterback. Okay, well, first time for all of us. But my point is, he like Barack Obama. Yeah, yeah, but Barack. You know, he ain't the first black quarterback.

No, we started on the regular start. Yeah. I mean, we had from UCLA, but he was a backup. Yeah, he only started. I'm starting. He only started because Rodgers was hurt. Dang, I say his name. Yeah, I don't get it. What was the new name, though? It was like, uh, it was Brett. It was Brett, uh, Brett, like a roller.

Something but then the dude that came from Seneca. Yeah, but I'm seeing they want no real start. They were backups dude was just hurt. This is our we stand call it calling by his whole government name before thank you before Jay love like

That's right. I'm always have his back. But that that year was rock true. And then he hit it. And then he lit it up. Oh, made the playoffs even won a playoff game. So, you know, it's not it's not how you start. It's how you finish. And the Packers have been notorious for fast starts and then slow finishes, i.e. last year. Exactly. You know, so our Super Bowl year, you know, we got hot at the right time.

So I would rather the Packers be figuring stuff out now the Super Bowl year where that Super Bowl year they have what about 20 players that year. Yeah, they're 20 players. Oh, no, you're talking about when we lost to Atlanta. No, no, they actually did win the Super Bowl. Oh, that year too. Yeah, they had like 15. When we lost Atlanta in the championship game, that was the same thing too. You know, so the the the time to get hot.

is the end of November, you know, into December. Jalen Reed, that's a big loss. Yeah. That's a big loss. And he may be down forever, man. Yeah. A neck, you, you, you, there's two things that you can't play with your back and your neck. Michael Fenley, not Michael Fenley. Michael Fenley. Michael Fenley. He had that neck. And Nick Collins. Shannon. Sterling Sharp. Sterling Sharp. And Nick Collins.

I'm talking but Sterling made Hall of Fame, right? Yeah, yeah, he just made it. He just made it. And he should have been made it. His numbers. Yeah, but that's undeniable. I think it was because the brevity of his career. So. Well, he ain't Gal Sears, dude. He was going to be better than him. Oh, man, he would have been hit. Dude, he was he was one of the first receivers to get a hundred. He had like.

300 reception mind you passing wasn't even fashionable back then and he put up big numbers like that. So yeah, he should have been in the Hall of Fame. All right, you listen to Community Voice phone lines open 4144445250414445250. I'm going to take a quick break. We'll be right back.

I welcome back. I saw it see the Penn State is playing Northwestern night down in Evanston. I went to a Northwestern game. What's amazing to me is that almost two thirds of the stadium is the other team. People at Northwestern is so indifferent when it comes to football. I think the only time you had, oh no, even when they played Ohio State, you know, half the people in the stands were from Ohio State. It's a weird thing.

They're playing Penn State tonight and the Badgers beat Penn State last week. So they're in a bit of a conundrum. The Badgers. Why? Because that coach has underperformed. But this this season, you know, they had a win against Illinois. They got a win against Penn State. They got a they had another win that was like a notable win. They got three notable wins. I forget who the other guy got spanked by Notre Dame.

Right, that's right. Um, and so I I do think that we need to move on which is funny because you know Packers playing Tampa this weekend Todd Bowles. Mm-hmm. He's gone But I got a special place in my heart because Todd Bowles attended Mount St. Mary's No, Todd Bowles is with Tampa Yeah, the black coach. Yeah. Yeah, he's with that. You say he gone

Yeah, they own three he gonna be gone by the end of the season Oh, that's what he was saying. Okay, you know, but he did his masters at Mount C Mary. Yeah, so But I hate to see it but Yeah Forward four four four four five two five zero four one four four four five two five zero right out

Someone put something on Facebook and I immediately thought of you and it wasn't death Said that a man died from hunger And they served food at his funeral That's cold brother. Yeah, so why they just didn't give him the food before he died Maybe he didn't ask for no food You know a lot of people a man dies from hunger a lot of people stubborn

You know, they don't ask for help. But they serve food at his funeral or accept help. Wow. Wow. Yeah. Shout out to the people that's on Facebook live and YouTube, you know, and also just shout out to the listeners that ain't on YouTube or on Facebook that you just listening right through the radio. All right. And you can also go to the Civic app. Mm hmm. And let me tell you, man, to an end.

Yeah, if you go, man, when you go through like, I used to listen to the jazz show and I would go through YouTube, not YouTube, tune in. And man, that stereo sound was just incredible. All right, somebody said, I'm not jumping on Kane's bad wagon. That schedule was too easy. ACC is JV. Okay.

All right. I gotta I gotta shout out shout out to Mr. Jamarco Metcalf today. It's his birthday. You know, happy birthday to you and many, many more. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Did I mention I mentioned it off here. I had the opportunity last night went down to see Dave's jars, but they'd already moved them. So

I missed that, but there was down at Milwaukee Art Museum. There is a local young man who has moved since to Brooklyn, grew up at Metropolitan Baptist Church, Mr. Reggie Wilson. And last night he did a thing called Powers About the Shakers. This dance, he's been doing dance forever. His dance troupe, who started in 1992. And what a great point. That's a great year too. Yeah.

That's your birthday? Yeah. What a great, great. So it was good to see, see him. I know I was just saying that I was very fortunate to have attended Metropolitan because just all the great talent that was at that church. And he's one of the quiet guys, right? You know, and I joke we had two very talented Regis, you know, Regi Royal.

Reggie Wilson, but I got a chance. It was a very good performance and made me go into a little research on shakers and what shakers are and that whole thing about movement. Uh, when we went down and we saw a cold feet last Saturday, I said, you know, African dance is about movement. European dance is about form. You know, that's why ballerinas look a certain way. Cause it's about the form, right? Where.

For African people, it's about the movement, right? And that's why you could have heavy set praise dancers. And he, and he about to fall out there. Hey, the praise has got to be as thick as the ankles.

But you do know, and I just thought about it. And when you say praise and worship, on a serious tip that when you look at, I forgot what scripture that was to when God told them to put the praise scene on the front line and having them on the front line in front of the soldiers, it confused the enemy.

because he you know they was wondering why is these cats singing and we battling and it's it's like praise and worship is important man this dude here is I'm just thinking in my mind they would have been the first one shut up like oh we you think so are you for a second oh yeah you're definitely about to be up out of here just you're definitely going to the upper room the upper room

You definitely up out here, you about the same. It's like, have any one of y'all saw Malibu as most wanted? Oh yeah, cool. Remember they was in the house, and the dude gave that speech, and he was like, so come on, can we just be brothers? I said, man, if you don't get the fuck with him, I don't know.

I'm going to hell. I've done a couple of things today. I show no sensitivity to DJs paid.

And then I made a comment about praise dancers, so I apologize. It's the sun, man. Hey, man, y'all been out to the car and didn't invite me, man. What's going on, man? Well, let me, you know, my niece, my niece, though, when you talk about form, Amaris is built like to dance her movement. Man, I just.

The way she moves was just so, I don't even know how to- Did Paris play sports? I'm talking about Amaris and praise dancer. I know, I'm just asking. Amaris tried out for the basketball team. I think when she was like a freshman or sophomore. So I'm trying to think, man, I don't remember. I remember Amaris being in track a little bit. Yeah, if we would have got what Amaris earlier, man, Amaris had the legs and-

Uh, it's my cousin Natalie. And I said, it was amazing that you didn't run track in high school. Cause when I saw, if I'm the track coach and I'm sitting, you walking down the hall. Oh, we talking, right? We talking cause she, she would have been and she's, and it's funny cause Natalie runs now, but she would have been great for the 400 meters. I mean, she just, you know, what I never noticed as a kid, but now as I'm getting older, I didn't notice how tall pictures were. Yeah.

Didn't realize that majority of the pictures is like six four. No, yeah You know once you get the I thought the only tall picture was Randy Johnson Something like that. Yeah, Bob Gibson was was tall for real. Yeah, he was saw that Hey, but do you know how hard it is?

to actually reach home plate from the pitcher's mouth? I was a pitcher, right? It ain't that hard. No, I'm talking about have you ever played on the regular size field? I haven't played at Miller Park, but listen at the parks. It's not around here. No, but that's when I was it. When I was a kid, I played baseball. Yeah. So that's a totally different distance from the parks compared to.

What well, I really gotta see I never I never did it is so that's why like when they have like, you know, I guess people to actually throw it out and it falls short and Bro, it's harder than what people think it's far. That's like the three-point line Right when you go to the NBA like and when you played out at the bright Well, we played at the at the Bradley Center for over Thanksgiving. Yeah, me too like school thing. Yeah, so when we walked in and looked at the line We was like whoa when I was I was warming up

And you know, you're going to pull a couple from, and that air ball, and I barely hit rim. I said, all right, I'm going to stick to the regulatory point. I'm not about to embarrass myself in this game. Remember though, those players are bigger. Right. And stronger. Yeah. So they're bigger. Right. That's the piece of it. That's what makes the women's game so interesting because they don't lower the basket. They still shoot on us. But the ball is smaller.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I'm still saying you still got to do 10 feet. But it's like women's soccer. So they could dunk in the game. That's insulting to them. I wouldn't do that. Why? How is it insulting to them? And I think dunking, man, is is so over. So if you can, if you're competitive, you don't want nobody doing nothing different, especially, especially something to make it seem like y'all can't do something. They can't.

It's women that can dump. Bro, stop. Not everybody. Bro, it is women that dump. What are you talking about? Hold on, listen. What is he talking about? Candace Parker Dunn. Listen to what I'm saying. Lisa Lennon. Brittany Greiner. How many dunks do you see in the game? Not that many. How many dunks? Okay. That's why I really appreciate the game because when you think about it, probably the least, the most, the least important

Shot is the dunk shot question. So when you go see the men play what do you go watch them watch them play? No, but I'm saying but what intrigues the fans are the fans break is the transitional points It's the dunks, but if you're a real basketball fan, you don't stand dunks. That's for the casual fan, right? That's like going to a baseball game for the home run. Yeah, that's why they go

Yeah, but I'm saying, but if you like baseball, you know, it's more than home run, which makes the Brewers even more amazing. Right. Because they don't hit that. They don't hit that many home runs, but they're still able to to second most runs. That's why MLB. That's why I said is a different with having contact hitters and power hitters in the playoffs and going to the World Series is going to be the difference between the Brewers and the Dodgers. Pitchy.

and defense. So you got pitching and defense. So here's the thing. People love Barry Bonds a lot. People also loved Tony Gwynn a lot. It didn't take away from their greatness, even though they're two different. What I'm saying is if you hear the stories about Tony Gwynn, right, he never struck out. But listen, look at how the Dodgers, how they have.

been winning the World Series. They got pitching, they got power hitters, they got contact hitters and they got defense. They also got money. They got all four. They also got money. But that's what got them all four, though. That's what got them all four. I think if and when people are insinuating that the Brewers won't get past the Padres, I don't know if that's the case. But if we win both of our games here, we good. Padres may win both of their games at home. But guess what?

So they got to come back here just like last year. So we good. Yeah. And you get Mizorazki, right? Yeah. But the Padres beat us here. Yeah, but that's regular season. I think the Brewers, I think the Brewers in a good place in terms of their head. I think that they're a different team from last year. Even Mizorazki is a different player from last year. Big, big difference. I think they, hey, this is how you win. Yeah. This is how we win. That's what I love, win our way. Wow. See, that's why.

That's see, I was I was never really a big fan of a Benedict Arnold anyway. But when he was our manager, the Brewers was either home runs or nothing. That's that's what's the problem with the Cubs home runs or not. Pat Murphy have incorporated the entire game. We've been butting. We're but to get people in scorn position because we got.

Contact players, but we got power hitters to not know but what I'm saying who powers what contrarious No, no, it's not considered a power here. What he got But he's not considered a power he's powerful brewers But I don't think the brewers really need to depend on that and it seems that when they need to get a timely home run We get it. They get it. So it can trust be one of them But when you're in the world series and when you're in the playoff

It's a totally whole different game, just like in the NBA. Regular season is different from the playoffs. It's like, but at the game speed up, it gets fat, you know, the game slows down. It's harder. It's harder in the playoffs. Stakes are higher. Right. But I'm just saying, if the Brewers play the way they play, if the pitching holds up, the problem that they have is they have a hole in the number three. The pitching, yeah. That's the hole right there. Bullpen is like the best in baseball, right?

And you try, but you have to figure out who's going to be that third starter. And, and, and I don't know if that issue was resolved by the end of, by the end of the season. So, uh, Mizorowski tonight, what Henderson, I mean, tomorrow night, Henderson Sunday. Okay. Then you go out there and then you come back. So we'll see. And I saw, I don't know this one game when they played Cincinnati. I hadn't, I hadn't seen that in a while, that whole bullpen game.

You know, I think the Brewers did it a couple of times last year where, you know, they go in, you have one dude, you only get one inning. I just think that, I mean, one, he's older. He used to coach Benedict Arnold. But I just think Pat Murphy is just way more creative. Oh, he's a baseball guy. He's just way more creative than Benedict Arnold. And then the discipline, when you set a player for not hustling? Yeah.

I mean, he just did that to contrage. Or when you go out and in the middle of a batter, you take that picture out again. Because what you doing? He said the message is like, hey, man, y'all got to get it right. Y'all got to focus, man. What SOS said? Baby, we can do it. Take your time. Do it right. Baby. Yeah. Do it tonight. Yeah. So I like, I like, I like his approach and.

Like like we said, you know, we've been the void of that big salary ability to just to just grab a play. Well, when the World Series and then we can afford to keep our players right when they don't want to stay.

Yeah, and you'll have more money. You're gonna generate more revenue. But you know, remember the Marlins when they were having that little run? Yeah. So, Dantro Willis. They won. They won. And then what did he do? They said, they sold everybody. You know, and we didn't talk about them again. Willie Adamus. Right. We couldn't afford Willie Adamus. But they had enough. And we don't miss them. Don't miss them. Did they really miss them this year? No. Until they came and played here.

So, I mean, it says something about that organization. It also says they were interviewing, is it Anastasia? Anastasia. Anastasia. And he was saying, do you remember, man, when you bought this team? Right. I remember when he bought the team. And where you were, like, they talked about 2006, and then they go, like, just five. Yeah. Well, I'm just saying, but that season, and he was saying, like, look, we had just had a goal. We just could get the 500.

They had the champagne and everything. We just get the 500 and then when you look at where this team is now he did my graduation Call it well to the program. Good morning. You on there. What's up, DJ? What's up, fellas? Hey, how's it going, George? Good. How do you pronounce PR? PR like par. Okay. So how did you get past out of that? So I was just abbreviating parts because they swept

It came up. That's what it looks like. I'm looking at it. Where is it? Because they swept the Brewers in September, correct? OK, I said bring it back. I said. Pods, right? I was just brief abbreviating it. But we was on a roll, wasn't that was? That was on our West Coast. You know, we played the Dodgers and then we played the Pods, right? And I put a P. Let me look at it because I thought I put a P. A. R. You did, but it should be P. A. D. Yeah.

Can I tell you why I did that? Why? Why? Because I don't know how to spell. See, a lot of times. You know what, George? We were having this discussion. Partridge was P-A-R. You know, my teacher used to tell me, George, don't worry so much about the spelling. Just spell it how it sounds. Partridge. Partridge. Partridge. Partridge. Partridge. Partridge. Partridge.

That's that's that's on me, but you know how we sit up and we debate about sports and who right and who wrong No way what I thought New York would it be minutes on the links man. No way Yeah, I'm gonna tell you why is that one girl back. I thought she was hurt. No, she played she played No, no, no, the one that a key flight in the future call you

Yeah, New York was just too big right and it's rare when you see that but New York is a big team those guards are like 510 511 for women that is big Yeah, and then they got the women from China. Mm-hmm. They are huge and then they still got Breonna Stewart Breonna Stewart Yeah, well Jones. They are big man. You could see like wow

But that's what I thought was going to be in the finals. I thought it was going to be them in Las Vegas, man. That's what I thought was going to be in the finals. But I was wrong right there. What you talking about, Minnesota? Uh-huh. But they had the best record. They had the best record. They was playing well, but they struggled. They struggled on the road against the fever at the end of the season. And then, like I said, once they matched up with New York, and New York is not a traditional HC. You know what, two years ago, they just won a championship. Yeah, they won, yeah. Right. So this ain't...

And this is pretty much the same team. But when I saw the size differential, I'm going, whoa, these women are big. So yeah, I was surprised. I think now the young lady for Vegas, her name is Thomas. She's like their little glue. She's the rebounding person. She's out. Man, New York could win it.

So, y'all were talking earlier about old school programming with the Black Shows. Yeah. So, if, if, I don't know if you can get it on cable because I don't have cable in the bedroom. I just got an antenna in my bedroom. But if you watch DaVo, it's on 68.7, Moesha, all of it. We need Moesha. Another family show.

One on one, all that stuff, man, the game, all that stuff comes on that channel. So if I mean, if you just, the Wayneans, so if you just looking for some good old fashioned entertainment, because like you said, a lot of this stuff on that you got on regular TV, programming TV, you know, I even get kind of turned off by it, you know, and I'm not saying I don't want to sound like our guide and come on regular TV and I know how key fields and I do feel the same way, but sometimes I think it's a little bit too much.

You know what George speaking I know what I'm talking about speaking of regular TV. I Just happen to be watching me TV. Mm-hmm, and they showed the episode where con First appeared in the whole Star Trek me. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they showed that first episode Star Trek, huh? You know, you know, you ain't a trekking. No Okay. Oh and the other thing I just want to say to how TV has changed

And I think right out, right out. Oh, I was going to ask because y'all sound about Clark Clark. Oh, if you don't mind me asking because I thought you was around Jermaine and Jermaine and well, maybe a little older than DJ, but I thought you was around right off age. I'm about 61.

I'm 60. I'm in the range of about 62. 60.5. 60.2. 60.2.

TV went off at 12 o'clock. Here he is. And when you watch TV, because I used to, as a little boy, I used to wonder, well, how do they have sex? Which I probably should have been thinking like that one. Because they slept in separate beds. As you go back and look at Van Dyke and all them, the ball and all them, they were separate. They had like bed. I love Lucy. Yeah. Do people believe just because you sleep in the same bed, you're going to have more sex? That's a myth.

Because I'm getting in that's a myth. Yeah, that's about I mean if y'all looking for some old-school TV just sit around and get some old-school laughs If you just on the antenna or if you can switch off a cable and switch on to your antenna That's a channel to go to and you can see all that that kind of stuff because somebody put in the thing reality TV change that stuff We can be more explicit

in terms of what you do, what you can hear, the FCC is kind of falling back a little bit. Because I remember being the kid. I wonder why. Hearing the B word on the TV, you was like, whoa, yeah. You can even say hell on TV. For real? Or lie. You know, a lot of that stuff changed a lot of reality. You know what you did here back in the late 60s? And that was Sam from the sun, nigga. I don't know how y'all feel about it, but to me,

where things really change as far as the rap game and the violence and all that is when NWA came on, came on the scene, I think. And I was a grown man and I was like bumping it like crazy. So I look back and when you look back now. Did you come up with NWA? NWA is changed to what these guys are saying now. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I think it also coincided with crack. I think that that that

You know, the music was talking about it, but crack was actually people out here dying. I'm talking about the dealers. I'm not, you know, so the drug piece in terms of the violence associated with it was real. You know, so I think all those things kind of lined up to, and then you would hear like some of the New York rappers talking about putting work in, right? You know, I mean, you're going biggie talk about it. That was majority of David Alba. Right, like biggie talk about putting work in, so.

you know I think a lot of that coincided how things line up and you go like it's like doing the late 60s you know when we start getting into that whole psychedelic piece you know where people are doing acid and they're doing mushrooms for a period of time you couldn't be a rapper if you ain't so dope that's how a lot of things got to start you can be a credible rapper I just want to just jump on

I'm probably going to go check out more games this year. The tickets should probably be a little bit more reasonable. But I was looking for some tickets. My son's birthday falls on the 28th of January. Yeah, man, I was looking at ticket cost in the nosebleeds, man. It's like almost $150 in the nosebleed seat. So we're talking about going down to Miami.

Yeah, so, and I'm not a Packer fan. Y'all know that you already know I'm not a Packer fan. And me and Chief used to go back and forth about, uh, Farve and, um... That's Farve. Farve and, uh, and, um, well, they don't like to say it. So, like, the thing is, I was trying to use a different word, but to me, one ain't better than the other. I mean, at the end of the day, they both got the same championships. The only thing that...

I really didn't like about the laugh. The laugh. Well, when I found out what the Mississippi boy was doing, that really turned me off. And then when I started digging a little bit deeper, how, how, how much of a race, man, maybe a listen, it's your show. How much of a race is he was? I really turned off of it. Why don't you tell me? Mississippi is the only one to go to two, two Super Bowls and and to do as we got to go, y'all. And the other dude only went. Okay. I didn't know it was that late. All right, man. All right, y'all have a blessed weekend. You too.

All right, man. It was going to keep going if I didn't say it. That's why I said you should say it. It's your show. I figured I'd leave it up to the host to say it. But yeah, we got to go. If the creek don't rise or whatever you say, y'all have a good one. Goodbye.
