Good morning. Welcome to Community Voice. I'm your host, Keith Parris. I want to thank everybody for joining us this morning. Let me say good morning to Clark Kent. Who you with? What's up? Apostle. Bishop Chetan of the Board. Apostle. Hey man, I see you got to go preach in China, man. You need to include me into your engagements and let them know that you have a musician that you travel with when you go preach at your speaking engagement. Let them know that my fee is $1,500.
And we gonna tear the church up man. You're not about to mess up his business. No, he gonna add me to the business. That's why he said separate. Because the one I'ma bring. Because we didn't heard your stories already. We don't want you to know somebody in that crowd. Plus I don't work with the house bed. I don't work with, I got my own bed. I don't work with the house bed. Blue, blue, blue.
You don't want you to know somebody in that crowd and they give you that win. Oh, man. And I'm sorry, good morning to my Joe's DJ, the bro to shit. Good morning. That's a DJ early. He was a staffer late. No, we was getting so understanding because Keith always wanted to be missed the opposite.
That's a good question. So if you had like, what would be your theme music? What would be like when you came in, this is your theme music. We did that already. No.
Yeah, we did. No, I mean, he wasn't here when we did him. We did that. No, that was what Keon did. Oh, OK. Boom. That thing ain't gonna get you. What'd be your thing, music cart? Superman? No. I got fake on that one. Mine. I got a few, but my real one, where I would come into, would be, uh, just be good to me. Oh. That's always bad. Yeah. People always talk about...
The one I would, when I haven't changed it, is Albo Black. I'm the man, I'm the man. I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm
Move the crowd. Move the crowd. Who's that by? Okay. Move the crowd. All right. No, I just, you know, when you come in, I was, we were a few weeks ago, we talked and I, and I shot up, shot out to Ernau Lucas. But they had wrote, they had wrote and they had written an article in one of our local papers and the guy compared him when he was running for, he was running for sheriff to shaft.
So when I interviewed him, we came in, we played the theme of shafts. So every time he came on. That's what he said. That's funny. Carla, welcome to the program. Good morning. You're on there. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. I was just telling Diego. No, you tell it right out.
She's a brick house. Pull up in the apartment building. You know, you could be sued for false advertising. You know that.
Hey, you hear the music and you think it's gonna be a break out? He's coming to Hutt. Oh, ho! I was trying to Hutt. I was trying to talk to Eddie. All right, I'll talk to him. All right, you too. Call him up to the program. She said, good morning, you on there. Do say to Hutt. Good morning, fellas. Good morning, young man. What's happening? I think, you know, I think Mars will be
See murder and Snoop Dogg just instrumental down for my ninjas
Hey, you come through with that joy right there, man. You know, it's about to go down. Oh, yeah. Yeah. For real. Yeah. And you better be good. Don't come in no mess on me. Yeah. And you know what, though, man? Some people, man, they just evil. So you're, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh
That's a nice one. Yeah. That's a nice one. Yeah, but you better. Okay. Listen, I'm with you on that one. I'm not with that. Yeah, man. Listen, and you gotta and you gotta have a couple of people with you. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. More than a couple of you need to entourage. Yeah, doctor. Yeah, you need to
Because in Soul Troopers came in, it was troopers, not trooper. More than one, huh? It was more... Man, it was a fleet of those guys. I hope I didn't just pay attention to a grammar.
They know the difference between singular and plural. We ain't doing this. We ain't finna do this on no Friday, man. Go on, we'll show you. We ain't gonna do it on Friday. You called in and did it. You can't do this out. Negroes. You gotta love them, though, right? You gotta love them. Hey, hey, all over the world. All over the world. All over the world. And that's funny, man, because I appreciate you, man. That is true, though.
You go some places and you be going like after a while like I know you. Yeah. Yeah. I've seen you before. All right. I don't care where you go. What kind of black people you go up. Yep. Every day. Every community got one. You know, one thing that is synonymous is those sayings that your mama said. Oh, yeah. Oh, we can we can go on. We can talk to somebody up in Nebraska and they go out of saying and if they black.
Your mom would have said one of ten things. Do it if you want to. Do it if you want to. I want to, but should I do it? Wait till your daddy come home. I brought you in this world. I take you out. We can go on. I ain't one of your little friends.
Definitely. Definitely. Go to bed now. Uh huh. I love that window you can if you want to. That is one of my favorite. You can do it if you want to. That's a setup. I don't know. Exactly. That's a setup. I don't know. Keep old enough for this but uh do you got some McDonald's money? Oh man, listen here. Hey, here it is with that. Yeah. Do you got some McDonald's money? You ain't going. My mama never took us to McDonald's when we were kids. Really? No.
which is so crazy because then with her grandkids, she take them to Culver's on the regular. Oh man, they major ball it over Culver's. That's her little thing. Culver's is a delicacy. Yeah, but man, when he's coming up with nobody going to no McDonald's. Man, I used to hate that too. St. December news.
But check this out though Even when you look at these gas prices, right? No speaking of that Thousand pardons. Yeah, I've been in my own world this week. Okay
I rolled down the street by my job and saw 439 and I was I thought, OK, maybe it's a glitch or something. And then I rolled down another street and it said 429. So then when I get to work, I said, hey, I know I've been out of it a little bit this week, but I was rolling past some gas stations.
Is the gas really over four dollars? Yeah, yeah, bro. They said that it can get to five so if If you look at it man, cuz I remember gas was a dollar two dollars ready, so They know me that the people gonna pay it cuz they got to get around mm-hmm, so You gonna pay it and it might be high but you need it so you're gonna do it
and they know that people are going to pay these prices. So, by them knowing that, they looking at it like, oh, well, it's affordable to them because they're paying it. No, it's definitely ain't about right. It ain't about no affordability. I mean, if you're paying it...
You can afford it. No, no, no. Or it's out of necessity. What what is it? What is it going to you not going to do this in order to be able to take care of this? Well, I shouldn't be at the pump making life decisions, though. You should. But in some people, it really is, dude.
Do I do this? How do I get to work? Right? I don't get to work. I can't eat. I can't pay my bills. So, man, it's one of those things. And then Wisconsin has some of the lower gas prices on average in the nation. And it's still high. It was almost $6. I feel so bad for my goddaughter. She just want to go. Look at the people in Illinois. Got a truck and it was like, whoa, gas prices go up. Bro, it took me $185 to fill up. Yes, bro.
Listen, that's why I'm not driving. Hey, what's Shaq say? Put $20 in when it get to have put another 20 remember that? No, that's atrocious Yeah, even though
The E 85 is up, man. It's over three dollars. That was the cost. Everything's going up because diesel is five dollars a gallon. Six. Six. Yeah. But diesel is always high, though. No, it's higher than regular, but not this high. Diesel is always high. Diesel is always high. That impacts on all your all that truck transportation. The cost of everything is going up. Call it. Welcome to the program. Good morning. You on there.
Okay, did you earlier? Yeah, I'm on the air man. Yeah, this is testing your stop it. I couldn't believe when Christopher said yesterday He said he Like God, I meant that bit took me out yesterday You said it's so creepy. God is spiritual. He said God is a man. He's he compared to seems to dad. I couldn't believe he said that
Why is that offensive to you? Why is that offensive to you? Do you have us on speaker?
No, I do not. You because you're going in and out. Oh, you got a flip phone? No, I have a razor phone. What's your point? Yeah, we can't hear you. You need to speak up. Look, ain't nobody going to be up here dueling over no phone. Hey, man. No, we just we're just trying to hear what you're saying. That's all. Hello? Honestly, it's nothing what you were saying. I couldn't believe you said that.
I just hang up and listen. All right. Appreciate you. I see that. Yeah. I didn't. I didn't. The market changed. When you call in, get the phone right. Man. Hey, and then some of y'all is a habitual callers. Wait a minute. Wait a minute.
Wait a minute. Some of y'all don't be insulted. Some of y'all it's a bitch will call us. You know, you're not supposed to have that phone on speakerphone. We all call us. All right. All right, man. Any more rules? Y'all know the biggest one of them all. It's Friday. It's Friday. What? What can't you say? You can say anything you want to say, but the orange man right can't use that name. You can talk about it. We definitely talk about.
But you can't use the name. Give him a nickname. We'll use our context clues. Just tell people what they can do. Right. Welcome to the program. Good morning, Yonair. Yes, sir. Good morning. Thank you for taking my car.
Yes, sir. I wonder, you're like, I'm not a dentist, and it's amazing to me how I can live with somebody's mouth, you know. I'm not comparing myself to the all month in like, on God. I did not create the Earth. I helped in the participation of creating my son. Yes. And I understand that the word God means possess a power force.
And it doesn't mean that I should be worshiped or human beings should be our worthy of worship. Some of you people are worshiping things that should not be worshiped, and you think that you are doing the right thing. And I understand how I am taught not to worship man, but to understand that the ultimate man is the Supreme Being who created everything, the universe, the sun, which is 93 million miles away from us, from the planet Earth.
For the most part, everything is mathematically based. The words I'm speaking, everything that we are taught, and that's the fastest thing. I think thought travels faster than light. So if you are offended, you will clearly lack understanding, or you misunderstood blatantly what I was attempting to put across. So there is no one
that I worship as a God beside Allah and I know that all the people are against that and I have no worshipers nor followers or anything like that. I'm just a regular brother and I understand that the process by which we came into existence as far as I am taught, it was done by the ultimate man, the supreme being, which we are
a part of and share the lineage of the alpha and the omega and if you think that God is a ghost then that's your madness. I will not partake of your idiocy or idiocy. Appreciate it. So you clarified it. You are not God or a guy. That's right. All right. Appreciate it. A guy. Okay. All right. Call her. Welcome to the program. Good morning. Good morning on there. Good morning gentlemen. Good morning. I just want to take that
You breaking up man, you don't put us on speaker because we want to be able to hear. Yeah, I know that let me just cut off this thing. Okay He's still breaking up. No, you're good. Yep. Oh, it sound like a Mayan now, but anyway before there's a McDonald's on the north side There's a place on Titanium Center called Robbie's now like the north side Yeah And then that's where we used to go until you know
We were living on the 1600 block of West Lloyd. Then we moved to 3,800 block on 26th. Well, nice feet. Ninth and north, I remember the first to make down, but then they built one right on 27th Capitol. So, I think I was around when they built that, the English camps. Yeah, we got off the corner of ninth and north, let's apologize.
a year before they put that McDonald's up, because we would have been over there, dude. We would have been over there. I wonder what the kids at Friendship do, but I know for us, man, because we used to go, there used to be a drug store on Seventh and North Coast Singers. And so we would sneak out to go up there, man. But man, if we had that McDonald's, Sunday school money wouldn't have made it.
Yeah, because we live like on fourth and right. Yeah. All right. Well, back in the day, my brother and I, we used to work for Neighborhood Youth Council at St. Francis. And I remember one time we walked at night in the north, and that made Donald and P. Dahl before we went to work.
It was true. We didn't have an disposable income where we could take the kids to McDonald's. It just didn't happen. Like I said, up until like I was like grown, right? That's when we started, I mean, I went to McDonald's, but my mama never took us. You know, I mean, the closest we got, now that she take us out, now she did take us out to pig and whistle. Because she liked it.
It had nothing to do with us. Because she wanted it. She wanted the ballpark special. So, you know, she loved this Sunday. So that's the only reason why she took us out there. Man, it was good, boy. That, that, you know, the only person there eating the hamburger was me. Cause everybody went there for the ice cream. I went there for the hamburger. No, you know what I miss as far as restaurants, shonies.
I used to love show these was like Mark's big boys, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh big boys was now, but the all you can eat breakfast. Yep Hey, uh, hey happiness notice though. It says free flow They hung up free flow. He said from God to Hamburg. Yeah, we're off the train. We're gonna flow some boats
Yes, back, back, back in the day. Oh, why? Back, back, back in the day. Listen, I heard, you know. Dude, I went down for last night of convention to Indiana. No, no, last night of convention and we were in Racine. And I said, Rhonda, I am going to White Castle. So I got out of church.
I tried to get out before dark because I didn't really know where I was going. I had to get back on that. Man, getting out of racing, getting back to the race. It's crazy, man. It's crazy. Dude, I'm a back road. Yeah, man. They sent you. So I got there, man. And oh my god. But I had too many. It's like the country, kind of. Yeah. It's easier getting out of Kenosha than it is getting out of racing. Call a woman to the program. Good morning, Yonair.
Hey, good morning. Good morning. This is, uh, from Houston. What up, Pratt? Good morning. Hey, I just thought about, when y'all talking about, uh, food, burgers, army, young youngsters eating, remember, burger chef? Yeah, burger chef. Yeah, burger chef with my father died, you know. It was funny because then burger chef went to Tonya and they had a Burger King. They were right up the street from each other. Wow. Right. And then when, when these were introduced,
to Milwaukee. I used to go to the spot on the 27th Street right there and get those burgers that were nice and moist. You know, they were melting your mouth. A little, little old lady saying where to be. Yeah. Yeah. Man, Wendy's, Wendy's was the, I was driving from, I was driving from DC back to Milwaukee and I ran out of money and for gas money.
So I stopped in South Bend, Indiana. And so I'm riding around, and so I can call my mom. She can wire me some money. I'll get the rest of the way home. Stop at this rec center. This guy's name was Moon Mullin. He ran this rec center. So I'm driving. I'm explaining it to him. I don't know how it came up there. I was a young preacher. But that came up. He said, how much you need? I said, no, no, no, man. I'm going to call my mom. She wired me the money. He said, no, no, bro. How much you need? He said, I didn't do that. I didn't run out. And people had to help me.
So he gave me 25 hours. I put gas in the car. I had eaten in 24 hours. Man, I go to Wendy's. I ordered two triples. Triples there. Dude, I was hungry. Did you finish it all? That's six pieces of meat. Yeah, but wait a minute. Then I'm trying not to fall asleep. You got the hardest. And you know what I did when I got back? I milled on the money. Yeah.
That's what I melt on the money. All right. Yeah, but probably what about what about back in the day George Webb? Absolutely. I used to go to George Webb after I went out at night. That was before they had you know, breakfast spot. Yeah. And then one place I hated was Sambo. You remember that? Oh, yeah, I lived in Sambo's when I was in Nashville. Yeah. Yeah. I couldn't do it.
Sambo's is now who bought them out somebody bought them out I don't know if it was Denny's or somebody but uh first of all it was an offensive name. Yeah, that was like they had some great food. They had some great food. When I was in Nashville though, man, I would eat at Sambo's maybe two three times a week. Oh, yeah. Yeah. All right, man. How you been? I've been good. I've been good. Just choking up all this heat. I'm out right now taking a walk. I usually walk about an hour.
Okay. My mind to get ready for my day. So, you know, how about that? I did shout out to your sister and sorry I didn't see the text until the next day, but. Oh, it's no biggie. I appreciate you, you know, doing it and everything. So, you guys have a great Friday, great weekend. You too. And go Packers. Yes, sir. Go Packers. Yeah, go Packers. Call.
Call the world. I'm so glad the son is out. Call the world to the program. Man. Oh, hello. Good morning. Greetings and salutations, my brothers. Good morning. Brother, brother, saying to you, my brother, my brother. I've got, I've got two things I want to touch on. Yes, sir. Yesterday, y'all was talking about God and if God has favors and all that and it was a, it was a split, it was a difference. I want to make a comment on that and move on.
There's a scripture in the Bible that reads, God has no respecter of person. If you look up what that means, study that. Strongest concordance, whatever you want to look that up. Merriam-Webster, when he says no respecter person, it means no big eyes, no little youth. Everybody on the same page. Everybody on the same level. Now, I'm going to move on to them slot workers I was just talking about. The triples. Memory.
You know, they used to call me they used to call me two things in college. They called me Neo because I love mayonnaise so much and they called me keep the sandwich created. So, I go down to our snack bar. We had something called the double jumbo with cheese.
What are the greatest bunchy burgers of all time? Speaking of fixing the sandwich man, one time my sister called in about a couple months ago and told the story on the air. I didn't approve it, but I guess I'd say it now since she told it. One time I went to Burger King on Capitol and I had ordered my food. But they was taking too long to fix my food.
I don't know what what got into me that I ended up jumping over the counter. Put on a Burger King apron. You had the munchies. That's exactly what happened. But the sandwich I fixed, the sandwich I fixed, it was three pieces of meat.
each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on each layer had cheese and bacon on
the things we would make you do. Have you ever had a triple sandwich? Because I got high. Have you ever on weed? You need to get a job after that. No. I think sister Carter owned that place so she was kind of, you know.
When she found out about it, we thought it was her. Have you ever been to Burger King? Or we? We're going to take a break. How much was a nickel barric back in the day? It was in five hours. I'm Willie Nelson, man.
We talked about great lines from the movie we had there. And yeah, that was it. Then he said, he asked him, he said, well, how much was a condom back then? He said, I don't know. We the user. That's sound about right. You listen to the voices of Free Flow Friday.
Four lines open. Four, one, four, four, four, four, five, two, five, zero. Four, one, four, four, four, four, five, two, five, zero. We're gonna take a quick break and we'll be right back. All right, welcome back. Yeah, Monday through Thursday is kind of a free flow, but it ain't like Friday. There's only one rule on Friday. That's right. There's only one rule. Jumped over the counter. Oh my goodness. Yeah. He talking about, I don't know what made me do it.
You ever had a burger? That song, man, when I heard that song, I'm going, there's so much truth in this song. There is so much truth in this song, dude. Yeah, man. I would have paid my child's support. But I got high. That's your ass in jail.
The funniest song that that guy ever made that was pound cake when he was talking about the officers right that came into his place and the art That blew me man that blew me how you gonna cry you gonna cry and you
Bars down in this man house in front of his kids, you know You traumatized everybody that was involved and now he made a song and you gonna cry Back back back in the day cuz I would I used to listen to a lot of AM radio Back in the day and there was a song that came out so before me you was the oldest 33 year old. Yeah, dude. I'm really
That's why Trimmia became so important to me. But there was a song out. It was called, Bottle of Wine. Leave me alone. Let me go home and get sober. Bottle of Wine. Let me go home and start over. And I was like, 10, listen to this song. But yeah, who would have known when you sit up and think about some of these songs to talk about?
Under the influence walking on sunshine And it makes me feel good. That's all they talk about. Come on man. Dang. I thought Rick James was talking about a former girlfriend. I'm in love with Mary Jane. I yearn for all of these songs that you wouldn't think.
Brown sugar. Brown sugar. Yeah. He's talking about. Yeah. Yeah. Brown sugar was that was that was white lines. White lines. They said he was he was coped up when he was doing that. Oh man, I got even better than that. Right.
Oh, the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse. Ride the white horse.
The words the cocaine yeah, huh cocaine what would it uh? It's as stewie calls it marriage you wanna Call the program. I got one for y'all. Okay If you want to get high you really got to try cocaine
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
he talking about you talking about you know uh uh you know tootin that stuff but anyway anyway you know that's that's uh uh uh you talking about throwbacks you guys forgot to mention uh red island and it's clock then you talked about twisters hey clock do you know what twisters was before it was twisters no i didn't it was called a shamrock yep
Oh, yeah, it's all right. Yeah, y'all was talking about uh, uh, renaissance, but what was renaissance before it was renaissance? Um, wasn't it? It wasn't renaissance. Color time. What was it again? Color time, yeah. Color time. So it was. So it was. In the movie, Good Tides, when they were singing, uh, temporary, uh, temporary sales, and they credit, uh, you know, credit. Easy credit. They're going to that song. They talking about that kind of stuff. Sure is.
Yeah, that's what they're talking about. People come and actually they play in our neighborhood, man. It's high interest on people, man. And that's why they wrote it. They wrote it our infrastructure. Right. There was so much sex between Jewish people. You know, took away money out of Sears, took away money out of the places that our people were employed. But they did employ some people, you know, but it was a, you know, very small amount of people that they can employ.
Sort of like these data centers that they want to put up, you know, they talk about the jobs, but at the same time, it's going to be very minutious. I'm not going to be enough to feed a multitude to be a community of people once it gets fed up, you know. So anyway, man, I just talked about your memory at our, right? Yeah. I don't know nothing about it. I just heard the old people talking about this stuff. Yeah. It was like, uh,
That would have been back around A&P, national A&P, Kroger's. You never do names shorty, man. They used to work in all them places.
Yeah, was he the driver? No, he was a security guard. Oh, yeah, a little shorty. A little shorty when he, you know, he had, you know, most people, if they had a little gun, he had a little gun. He had this little gun, man. 22 and a 12. A little 12 and a 12. Oh, man, you're taking me back, man. He was an exotic down stuff. Is that right?
Man, you know they say he had a little shank in his tank. But he was an exotic dance and I don't want to call him a boy that kind of follows him around because it might be offensive. You know what I'm saying? All right. Well, please don't do that. One time he tried to catch me at A&P and I jumped over the thing. He couldn't catch me, man. I snapped some cigarettes.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Good morning. You're here. Hello. Good morning. Yeah, I got a couple of them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I still don't remember what that fellow is how many temptations are tomorrow. In the temptation, you got the radio. Oh, it's a hundred tomorrow. Yeah. Hello. Are you hung up? Yeah, because when they did, when they did psychedelic shack,
Very Gordy was like, I don't know if we would, because I think they was kind of talking about acid. I think Frank Ocean had a song too called Nova Cane. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah, Nova Cane. Wait, was it him or was that Kanye West? No, that was Frank Ocean. I think it was Frank Ocean. Frank Ocean, Nova Cane. Okay, how about Mystical Still Smokin'?
Angel dust, you know, Misco was on everything. Man, still smoking. That's why you're in jail. That's why I'm good. Hey, but his son sound just like, sound just look just like him, sound just like him. Yeah. Listen to community voice. We're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back. All right. Welcome back to community voice and what's on your mind, dude? Man, I'm
I feel I feel good. I'm excited about what this weekend is about to look like with sports. You know, I'm I'm I'm I'm repping the Brewers today because in in a few games, they should be able to break that their only record. But I really want them to get to 100. That'd be for the Brewers to get 100 wins. That
Wow, that'd be tremendous. When I was a kid, just getting to 90 was a big deal. The 95? When I was a kid, just getting to 90 was a big deal. If you won 90 games, you was a really good team. Well, we're not going to be eligible for free burgers. No. But ain't that crazy? We had a couple of years where we had those free burgers. Last year, wasn't it?
I think so. But this year is probably going to outdo all of those years. You know, we didn't have that. That's just that's just how my concern for the Brewers is they do not have a third picture. Yeah. And that's going to be a problem because it's going to wear out their bullpen and the playoffs. So, you know, I think that because Harrison yesterday, he been tripping, bro. Man, that that was.
It's funny, man, because I'm spending so much time watching them now, you know, where I used to be. He started off like as a Sayon candidate, man. Man. And then the other dude, that pitch was at Henderson. He got better as a year went on. He still only has two pitches. And they said, be a major league pitcher. You need three. Yeah. That three go to he only has two. Now, if if you're like, let's say you're Mizorowski and that change, I mean, that.
fastball is just yeah that people can't hit it especially the high fast if you have anything that's just undeniable that you that's going to always get you picked up a nice little slider man he had a couple of man they went in he always had that slider and that and his slider be getting up there in the 90s yeah that was ugly man 90 the ball coming and then it does that you're going like I'm a 90 mile an hour slider that's that's yeah when you change up it's 90
Man, but I think you have to be able to. There's one dude where I think he is like 98, 99 fastball, but then his change up is like 82. When you had that difference, you know, because hitters are guessing, you know, but that that a mess of hitter up 82 change up after getting seen a 98. Yeah, you go like, OK.
And and and that would be bad practice, right? Right. But no, no, so we I'm excited. I'm I'm excited about the Brewers and I am Interested in what Sunday is gonna look like For the Packers Now you pose this question shit LaFleur be fired. This is my this is my take I'm not a quick. I'm not a quick to fire somebody guy
I'm not. But what transpired last Sunday was a fireball offense. That was a fireball offense. Because... Wait a minute. Wait a minute. No, I didn't. What I said, what you should have never done.
Oh, should they not have been booed Sunday? They should have been booed. The second half. The second half, they should have been booed. I mean, no, because so what I said was everybody is to blame for that, for that loss. But I've never in my life seen an entire drive saved.
by penalties. I've never even on fourth. I've never seen that in my entire, like usually it'd be like one penalty. Yeah, you did. Last year, they had one of those series against the Bears. Yes, they did. That's why. Yeah, that's why I say fire this dude because it was funny because not even nominal fans were out there going like.
Didn't we see this last year? And you hadn't fixed it from last year? And that's why it was a fireball offense. But the good thing is, we got the Jets. Now, if we lose to the Jets, then he probably going to have to get on up out of here. Because it ain't no. They ain't going to get rid of that. No, we didn't play the Jets last year. And not getting rid of him. Hold on, you forgot the NFC East this year. And the NFC South. NFC South. Yeah, because if we now.
The Jets do look like a different team now. Bro, they play the tight. No, they still the Jets. Yeah, they play the tight. Well, I mean, I get it. Somebody had to win. But you know, just like Chicago. Not true. True. In the regular season, I'm to play on somebody got a win, but not the regular. That helped the Packers last year. So what do you think about Chicago? No, they offices. But they defense is terrible. Just like what we saw with the Lions last night. They defense is terrible.
Yeah, but that's where you have offensive line. Like we got that pretty much lay down, man. Hey, we I've never seen the offensive line. And I didn't and I didn't expect that to be. I didn't expect that to be an issue or a concern. That's definitely a concern. But also, we got to give it some credence to.
The Vikings defense, what's the defensive coordinator name? Oh, the black dude. Is it right here? No. Oh, Flores. Yeah, Brian Flores. He's always been phenomenal, and they defense gave us troubles last year. Well, when you know that every other snap was going to be a blitz, and you had made that adjustment, yeah, all right.
I look at the end of the season. I didn't think he I thought he should have got fired last year I think he's brought them as far as he's going to get them But you you just and now that's that's we can't we can't be losing like that. Do I think our GM need to go to because he paid Aaron Banks all of this money and this dude He entered and then they paid them again. No, he only he's still on the same contract. No
I'm talking about the from the first from when they signed them. Yeah, it was it was it was like a four year deal. So yeah, but that was too much money that they paid it was because he didn't really play that much. No, I'm talking about with the 49ers. Like he wasn't a stand a standout guard. Yeah, we're in trouble. Yeah. And I and I and then I sit up here thinking and it doesn't look like Chicago's going anywhere. Man. Don't look like in spite of that defense, don't look like they're going anywhere. So
So, I think, you know, Detroit's done. They've done. You think so? Oh, yeah, they've done. You saw, did you see the game last night? I saw. It was over in the first quarter, but it's like. He lost both of his coordinators. See, maybe you could, maybe you could stem the tide with losing one coordinator, but when you lose both of them, mind you, this dude was calling plays last year. That's how bad they got for them last year. He was calling plays.
He's a pretty good coach though. He is a good coach. I think he go. I think he go. I mean, but in reality, I, but I think I would rather have him than Matt at this time. No, no, no. Is he crazy? All right. Don't, don't he be going at this cat guy? Dude, he be going for it on fourth down on your own 15. I know, but this guy has done. And you have a person in the NFL called Tate. It's called Tate. Mm hmm. You know, that's why Murray, his rookie year,
He was able to beat people, but once they had enough tape on them, it's over. Everybody shut them down. They didn't explode. Yeah, Murray this quarterback and Minnesota with the Cardinals. If he would have stayed healthy, we would have, we would have, we would have won. Okay. I don't know how, I don't know how successful a five, six quarterback is going to be in the NFL. Let's do this. Call. I see you. I would take a break. We're going to be right back. All right. Welcome back. Call of welcome to the program.
Hey, good morning. Good morning. What's going on, Trey? Who you with? You, Foo. I got this. We on whatever. All right. Now, I got the greatest job song ever. We can barely hear you, Trey.
We can barely hear you. Can you hear me now? A little better, yeah. Can you hear me now? Marvin Gaye what? Oh yeah.
Finally heard that what? It's on the what's going on album Yeah, I just heard that song I didn't know he he had all these deep songs on there And then he got one on there about drugs about Halloween specifically. Yeah. Yeah, that's right The friendly skies
Yeah. Yeah. To the boy out of man and back in the day they used to call him boy. So that's my drug song. Okay. Now here come my hate right quick. Yeah. And it might hurt some people in the studio, but not too, because you keep it real real. But people like Chief Terry.
You know, that's one of black folks, you know, like how you said, you know,
You have a conversation with somebody like, hey, I just feel like I know you. That's one of the things that a number of black folks, hey, don't don't don't say no, we ain't got nothing to do with me. Well, the problem with that is that it's we when it's a benefit. Hey, tomato tomato. It's a benefit. Tomato tomato.
And so and I'm paying taxes and so fact that I'm paying taxes you paying taxes everybody paying taxes that makes us we Right some things we do well other things. We do not do well But I think collectively I mean do you see see yourself as an American? Do you love America? I remember one of my black Republican friends came to you love America
Dependent depending on if I get put over by the police Or I can't get my respirations. Yeah, cuz I'm still waiting on that with your respirations and my restitution That's a whole different thing I think I'm gonna have a whole new take on The scripture I use Sunday
But it was a question of reparations. So I think I'm gonna I'm gonna go go go get off political injustice minded on that particular piece in terms of this idea rep reparations and The fact that people I mean other other other groups of people have gotten reparations But why is it an issue? When black people talk about reparations that that that's my frustration
You know, we've seen the Jews, we've seen Asians, we've seen many people get lost for them. You know, we've seen individuals get property, you know, and money. But when we say, well, where's our kickback? Now it becomes an issue.
And the issue that shouldn't even need a lawyer to litigate, because the history has said it. But you know what complicates this, and I'm only doing it from a material perspective, right? The Japanese, they got far less than they lost. So let's talk about, they got something. The Jews, property.
What complicates this in America is the natives. No wait a minute natives. They got we were the property Right and so how do you go in and quantify that? in terms of one being a property and two then what is Because you know slaves didn't have a union right mm-hmm slaves didn't have a contract so
But I think it's also just America just doesn't feel like like people are ever deserving of right because many of these people in America came after enslavement. So women. So then these folks don't see because they say we weren't here when this was going on. But you benefit. Thank you. You benefiting from what went on before you got here. As a matter of fact.
That was one of the attractive things about America that wanted you to get here. So, and that is also a dumb retort because you wasn't here. Many of us wasn't here. Like I wasn't here when my mom had a job or when she had bought a certain house or whatever. But when I came into the world,
I benefited from it because I was connected to her and therefore I was able to be under that roof and, you know, get food and clothes and shelter. You saying that you wasn't here when that happened does not mean that you don't benefit from it. Now, you may not be to blame for it, but you certainly benefit. And then on top of that, people who were not here
are still receiving things at a detriment to them. When it comes to trauma, when it comes to health issues, when it comes to sociological and economic disparities, we still are receiving, we still are on the negative end of that.
a spectrum. So now you move in to move away from any kind of redress, right? Right. And it's not going to be so when people call in, you know, I'd say to Al, a lot of things you're complaining about is systemic. How about how about I smack one of them? And then when they say, you just smack me, I say, why are you bringing up all stuff? Would they move on there? No, they still they still going to be sitting in that slap.
and might even wanna get back. Hit number six, man. Yeah, I know I'm making sense. To somebody. Call one to my program. Good morning. Let's begin through. Good morning, you on air. I had to call back when you talk about reparations, man, because listen, in 2023, San Francisco did a advisory reparation. They wanted to pay each one of their
uh uh uh citizens that were uh descendants of slaves five million dollars okay that was just in the city of san francisco they only have eight black people living in san francisco no no i thought it was uh i thought it was a tire uh they have a very small no i thought it was the entire california because gavin luson has stepped in first of all they had to they had to build a snow ball so it could start the effect so what happened was you know who shot that down like
The black came in, ruffling feathers, making money. This is why I don't participate in the organization. The NAACP said, no, we don't want to give that. We shouldn't give them $5 million per person. The money should be given to organizations. Now, when they did that, the money to water, because now we got ill intent, you want to give the money. We think the money should go to organizations and organizations that then distribute the money into education dollars. They came up with $5 million per person.
Now, once they did that, because they were going to push that on to the governor's office. And then the governor shot it down. He just vetoed it. But the city itself could have made that decision in that choice. The NAACP came in when they made those statements and started trying to wiggle the money towards organizations, hoping that theirs would be one to distribute the money, which we know what happens when organizations get money.
We never see the money, really. But I think within that, it also fell apart because some of the black, like assembly people or state, I don't know if they were senators or assembly people, but they also was against it.
too, because it was some infighting going on between the Black folks. They're members of the NAACP. See, they want to get the money to their organizations. See, this is greed, man. They didn't want to see nobody get the money like that. So they want... See, let me explain something to you. How do you think these people go in as representatives and Congress people and senators and leave out of there being multi-millionaires?
How do you think it happens, DJ? You know how that works? Inside a tree. But that's at the national level. I don't know that happening at the state level that often. Let me say that San Francisco has always had a very, very small black population, right? For a lot of different reasons. Black folks now, if Oakland talked about it, because Oakland has a significant black population, you also had the issue of the Chinese, right?
And, and all of that, you know, the Chinese Exclusion Act, which I found I'm still is in place. So why you bought that up? Can you tell us what the exact population of blacks are in San Francisco since you bought it up? Because I don't care if it was two. I don't care if it was two. The rest of the world would have seen somebody getting paid for what was done to black folk back in the day. So, but I would like to know the population. Let me talk about their communities, Evanston.
Evanston, Illinois. There were black folks who lost their homes down in Evanston. When you go down and you buy cannabis in Evanston, that money, the profits from that goes towards reparations for those people who lost property in Evanston. Yeah, but they fighting that to the nail. And you know, we're fighting it. White folk, white folk won't even mouth about it. But black folk actually put the effort in to stop it.
White folks can say, you know, there's no, no, no, and they all try to fight you, too. But see, the power comes when we deny ourselves. That's when they say, oh, they don't want to do it again. We need what it is. All right. Me. So we say according to the U. S. You're taking too long. Oh, I had it. I was waiting. You go according to the latest census that blacks only make up five to six percent of the city's total population. Forty five thousand to fifty five thousand people.
Now, do the math on that. Do the math. Okay. You talking about is that with black people? Yeah. So that's a lot of people, man. 45,000 black people. It'd be a whole lot more people if you talk in Oakland. And that's the other thing. No, no, no, we're talking. Most people can't afford to live in San Francisco. They have the highest housing cost in the country.
Yeah, they do. So, you know, the majority of people in San Francisco are members. Why are we not addressing? San Francisco was ready to get down. Because one, I think if people go in and say that you have different groups in NAACP, maybe others felt like they had a vested interest. Remember, like I said earlier, it was also some inner disagreements going on.
uh with those black representatives. I followed it. I followed it. Yes. Yes. I followed it. I followed it. DJ DJ. They this is it's not true brother. I followed it. That is true. Let me tell you where the disagreement came in. The disagreement came in with those people that you're talking about wanted to go along with the NAACP to send money to organizations opposed to giving each individual the money. You understand? That's what caused the problem man. All right.
That would have been something that they couldn't negotiate it. In result of it, they got nothing. I'm telling you, it's one of those hard things for us to kind of do. You wanna do your perspective? Sure. You sure?
Do I need to hype you up? Yeah, you do. Okay. And now it's time for the protégé's perspective. It gets you right, man. Thank you. As we are entering into another change in seasons due to the time of the year, we too should be vigilant of the change that is uncovering within our lives as well. Sometimes change is abrupt and other times it is subtle and gradual.
Your actions and mindset will begin to orchestrate change, for time does not stay the same. Just as the seasons know exactly when to change, so does your mind, body, and spirit. In this feeling, it is important to discover what change you will be embarking on and make efforts to be prepared for it. We all know that change is constant.
We also know that you will not always have time to prepare for change. Life has a way of alerting you of the next chapter. Sometimes it's with your doing and understanding, and other times it's not. Then there are times where there present instances where the timing seems synchronized.
This is a blend of what you have been working towards and outside forces aligning with your vision. Embarking on a new journey is exciting and what's more exciting is being prepared while on that journey. We can expect the seasons to change as the year goes on. This too range true for our lives. We can also expect our seasons to change as our maturity
ambition and purpose moves along. In this transformation, don't be too impatient, don't be too worrisome, and don't be too anxious. Be prepared, be faithful, and most of all, be thankful. Yes, sir.
You're listening to Community Voice. We're going to take a break and we'll be right back. I love this dude. I love this dude. You know, there's no question that I love this brother. I love you too. I love this brother boy because he come with it, don't he? Well, you know. Hey, Keith wrote the question. Did he go back? No. Yeah. We had this conversation also.
Please ask him the hard questions. Was it your fault? No, that whole thing, like, when did you find out the whole piece? All right, here we go. Welcome to the program. Good morning. Good morning. I heard y'all were talking about reparations.
Black people should get reparations. Yes, sir. But the reason why we're not going to get reparations is because Black people are too nice. Think about it. Asians got their reparations. Yes. The Jews got their reparations. Yes. And what have any of them been right by Black people? Everybody want to stand with the racist? You know the Jews called anti-Semitic.
But stop when even they ain't in there. Wait a minute. What what are they supposed? That's their money. They ain't gotta give us no money. That's their money. That's not what you're talking about. You know the Jews. The Jews shouldn't have to give you no money. You talking about the Jews who had the auction box and the bread and farms, but moving your neighborhood and open grocery stores and every time. Okay, now that's different. But that wasn't because of their reparations. That was because of business practices. But he's saying that they ain't did right by us.
They received them reparations, but they didn't want to look crazy and look down on us. We ain't giving them the money. We ain't giving them the money. But what I'm saying is, everybody getting their reparations, and then the Jews can say what they want. They can do what they want. Black people really don't push back. And I'm not going to say our Jews bad, but some of them are very racist. Some of them are the new minorities.
Some of them brag about how they're gonna nickel and diamond United States And I'm absolutely correct when you talk about that there is almost this Ben Shapiro bipolar piece going on in terms of During the civil rights movement many of the supporters of civil rights movement with Jewish people but on a local level many of those merchants were abusing
Poor black and brown people as merchants as landlords, right? So that that that history so it does that's a mixed history in terms of Yeah on one level they march with us But then other people saying on another level they ripping us off in our community So you write on point with that and so I'm so much like people gotta stop being so nice because the more you're nice
They're going to, they're going to exploit your niceness, your kindness. You learn finding out every time this person shows up who's orange, the Jews are always walking behind them. How, how are they going to be Jewish and then tell you how you got to follow Christianity? Where do they're at? Well, I don't know if that's the case.
But I'm just saying, if you being a Baptist or a Christian, you can't tell that you had to be a Jew because you're not a Jew. Right. And I will be honest with you, there's not a Jew telling me how to be a Baptist. But they're coming out doing that now, and even down in the South, these white people are telling these white kids, you should always give your donations and money towards you. Why would you do that?
They're appealing and the ability to be able to raise money because we live in America if it don't make dollars, it doesn't make sense. But if you are about religious beliefs, you're about standard and principle, I being a black man and I ain't no Jew, I can't tell you how to be a Jew because I'm not a Jew nor do I want to be one. What Jew has told you how to be a black man?
Oh, they're not going to tell me that. OK, so then that real square. But when I'm talking about what's going on in America now, I think I think there's plenty of things that we can harp on where they try to tell us how to be, how to conduct ourselves. How about Jewish people? But all I'm going to say is number two, the short and brief, when black people stop being so nice.
And if you could treat each other like niggas and you treat them like niggas, you'll get the respect you want. And I ain't been proven wrong yet. You just got to try it. Because Jesus ain't going to make nobody do it. Because He's up in the thing. Y'all are on earth. And you know He colors you up. So y'all have yourself a good weekend. Bye-bye. I appreciate that. I'm with you though, man. I ain't down with white Jesus. I've never been.
I ain't down with white Jesus, you know, that's the beauty about like growing up in like a black barbershop Because you know you you get you get everything you get religion you get sports talk you you get just regular like talking and stuff and one of the things that You know shout out to exhale. Yeah Always say like, you know The the hair. Yeah was that a sheep wool
You would always just just repeat that. And so that that made me ask my grandma, you know, well, what is she? Well, what does she will look like? You know, because she from the South and she showed me and she told me. And I was like, dang, that that that would that would resemble somebody that that might look like me. And I think that that's the other piece of it yesterday as I try to as much as I can strip away usage of gender language.
But it certainly tried to strip away all Vessages of white supremacy and it's baked in to Christianity mm-hmm and and Whether people want to accept that or not it is if you go to the Sistine Chapel and you look up at that ceiling that Was that Michelangelo when he did that ceiling mm-hmm. What color is God? I Don't know white white
Okay, you've been there? I've seen pictures of all pictures. I mean it God is white and that's that's that whole thing You know when you hear people pushing back on Ephesians slave obey your master You know why that one was so prominent and and certain types of black theology So I think there's a lot that we have to do because we in some ways we help support and perpetuate white supremacy
Right, you know, like when people will go like, well, white people's ice is colder. No, white people have ice. There's the difference. It's resources, right? And so, or if you're educated and you're intelligent, oh, you sound in white. White people didn't invent intelligence. You know, I mean, at that, so it's how we think. And a lot of times it's like back in the day, Clark, I know you remember this one. They call it self check.
Remember do get out there. You don't have to guard them, right? He's gonna check himself, right? Cuz is where his mind is mentally yeah mentally you often so when people get up in your mind get up in your thinking Yeah, you know, that's why George Clinton say free your mind Right and the rest will follow you know, and that's where we are man a lot of times the enslavement ain't even physical anymore. It's psychological. Yeah, you know being sentenced Psychological like he got the height
The other dude that they first round picked for the Markel Falk. Markel Falk? Great shooter in college. And they ruined it. It was crazy. I never watched him in college. It was a monster. When you see his highlights, it's a completely different player than he was. That's because they actually got in his head when he got to the lead, man. But how do you, it's like somebody, it's like Space Jam.
when they stole the powers. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's like what happened because his form and all that is just completely different. Remember when Simone Biles, she called it, what do they call it, the Yix? Yeah, because she got afraid of heights. Right. That's in your mind. She been doing those flips at that height most of her career. So it does happen when people go in.
You know, they I was watching and they were talking about because they really dissect Mizorowski, right between, you know, like he God and and then people go like now a lot of this right now is not physically where he is is mentally where he is. Right. Right. You know, and so that's the whole piece, man, that you and I have the responsibility to free our minds. Free our minds. Call it. Welcome to the program.
Go free your mind moment. Good morning, you're in there. Good morning, brothers. I wasn't going to call and say this, but since Keith just brought that up, I kind of want to swing back to yesterday because I think there was a whole bunch of confusion yesterday. Keith, you say you don't like bringing up gender when it comes to guy. You studied something. When me and Ken used to say guy,
this glum back maybe two three years you start saying she and that's how the whole thing got started now how can you say you don't like doing that but you were the person that introduced it to it to the conversation and so the only thing I asked you today not to get a firestorm started all I asked you was do you do
at in front of your congregation, plain and simple. I agree. I agree that God does not have a gender. I just simply ask you, do you, because if you can do it on WNOP, Keith, the only thing I'll simply ask you is do you do that in front of your church? Do you vote enough? This is why we get into it because you've taken what I've said out of context and that's my frustration. Whenever
Kian would say him, I would jokely say she. Right? It was a response because if God doesn't have a gender, he says him, I can say her. That's all it was. You turned it into this whole theological thing. No, no, it was. See, there you go, Chief. No, because right now I can tell you, if somebody will say he, I would go and say, what about she?
This is why you turn it into this thing, man. It ain't a thing. And then how did George started? Yesterday you put it in the chat and I responded to what you said in the chat. No, we're talking about yesterday. You said, let's go back to yesterday. I just explained it to you. You started this controversy two or three years ago when we would say he in the Bible, you would say she.
and then that would get key out of there and that would get a bunch of us upset. Well, we would say that God doesn't have a gender. You just. We have that established. Okay. So then if you say here, then I can say she do you like conversations or do you like talking over each other? I'm trying to make a point. Well, okay. I'll finish mine. So then you can do yours.
Okay, because if you keep talking over me, how can I get then that makes me sound like we're arguing over the radio? And that's not what I'm trying to make a point or conversation. What's your point? So, so when you started that two or three years ago, which made a bunch of us upset, all we ask you Keith is where do you see in the Bible anywhere? Now that's your right to say that. I'm not saying that's not your right. All I asked you yesterday, you say you try and not use gender, but you always say she.
I don't always say she. And then you start laughing. Right. Because I'm doing it. So she's the only thing I asked you yesterday was a plain simple or yes or no question. When you're preaching in front of your congregation, do you call my response to you? And you said no. No, that's not what I said. Basically, you said no. No, no. See, no. Let me know. I'm very explicit in my language.
What I said was, I tried to avoid gender specifics. I also pointed out to you that in terms of Hebrew and Arabic, that when it's it, it naturally defaults to him. That's what I said. So if you say to him, I'm joking with you when I'm saying she, because God doesn't have a gender. God is not he or she.
That's the point and so when I get up and I say I try not to because there's some history around the patriarchy That has been baked into religion, especially monotheistic religion. That's just me But when I get up I try to use that's all it is. This is not So you turned it into something that it really wasn't like I'm gonna get up and say Alright
I appreciate you, man. I gotta take a break. When I tried to have a talk with you, man to man, and you know I called you yesterday, you had a respect enough to call me back as a man. You know, I know you saw me call you. Yeah, but we had this conversation on the air. So I was trying to explain to you off man to man, so we would kind of get an understanding.
because, Keith, how can you say you try and not use it, but then every time on the radio you address it as she. That's all I asked you, Keith. And I'm going to say it for the fifth time. So you don't do it in front of your congregation. I'm going to say it for the fifth time. When you hear me say that, it's usually in the response to somebody saying him, and I will say she. He's taking it to a level you don't have to take it to. However you, how are you referred to the creator? That's between you and the creator. Okay. That's all we say.
