Reflecting on 9/11: Personal Stories and National Unity

Community Voice · Fri Sep 11, 2026

Good morning. Welcome to Community Voice as we greet you on this 25th commemoration of the attack on 9-11. Good morning, DJ. Good morning, Martin. Who you with? Good morning, Ride Out. Good morning there, sir. I wanted to deal with this right now. Wow. There's not a lot of times, I can say, in my life that I ever felt fully American. Yes.

for a lot of different reasons. But on 9-Eleven, that was a different piece. And right out of the house, can you remember what you were doing and where you were when the attack happened? And I was downstairs in the basement, pressing the shirt, getting ready to go to work. Rhonda said, I can hear her upstairs. And she said a plane had flown in to the World Trade Center.

And I've flown in the Kennedy once you kind of go out and then you go on so I figured oh must have been a plane some kind of malfunction and then I Could hear Rhonda go when Rhonda has this reaction She actually saw the second plane go in the building now it turns in to something else. Yeah, right and So and I sat there and do what I normally do. I just watched I was trying to watch TV. I had to get to work

And I'm watching and said man, I got to go to work. I got to go to work So I get in I remember driving down 76th Street and I had ABC news on in the car And I remember Peter Jennings when the towers came down. He said the World Trade Center is no more I remember that and then it was just like it hit me like whoa Then you hear about the plane going into the Pentagon right after that

And then the plane crashing in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. And it was just like one of those moments where, you know, it's surreal. I mean, that's the only way you can describe it. And Desalyn, who you all know work with Garden Homes, Desalyn Smith, I don't know where she found these American flags.

But she had them all throughout we were on 76 in Cajun where evolved churches now. Yeah, they used to be our location one of our locations and It was surreal. I mean it was I didn't know what to make of it You know in the middle of something like this. Maybe it's the the The greatest generation remember what they were doing with Pearl Harbor Some people can tell you if you're old enough they can remember where they were when JFK got shot. Yeah And for a whole generation

They could probably tell you what was going on when 9-11 happened. Yeah, I know that day before my son, he was just born and we was at that hospital and I had left to go home and grab some things that we needed. And as I was going home, I'm listening to

to V100 and you know they was talking about you know the what was going on and how the building was on fire you know something was happening so I get home and I turn on the news and because it's on every channel so I turn on the news and I'm looking at it as I'm grabbing the stuff that we need for my son and you see this plane coming to the shot you know as they were sitting there talking the plane coming to the shot behind them

And when it hit the building, you hear the whole news station like, oh my God. It's just another plane just crashed into the building. So you hear them talking and some people was crying. So I'm watching this and I'm like, man, what's going on? Then he say these words, America is under attack. When he said that, it was like a feeling that

that came over me because I got in my car to drive back to the hospital. And there was no music playing on the stations. It was all news about what was happening. So everybody was like, the country is under attack, this and this and that. So then when they showed the people who they claim was connected to it, it put this fear in me that every gas station that I went to, it was okay.

Are they going to blow it up? Yeah. Are they going to harm us? Should I shoot them first? Like, what should I do? So it was like, you had this in your mind. You was conditioned to think that these people would hurt you. And did you feel like an American? I did. Because that was the first time, whether you was white, black, Puerto Rican, whatever, races or whatever, you saw people come together and stand in unity.

So that was the first time that I actually experienced something of that magnitude, like, okay, hold on, it's us against them now. And that's the way it actually felt. And when I was watching the news and watching the footage from inside of the building and how the firefighters was running in there and they had the cameraman running in behind them, and they showed the building falling and all of that, it was like,

like these people are really losing their life and the kids that was at the bottom of the world trade that was in daycare. So I'm thinking about all of this stuff and I mean tears man started to flow man. And the firemen were in a situation where they were trying to get as high as they could to get people out.

and they call it the fog of war when things are happening. So they told people in the south tower to stay in place. Stay in place, sure it did. And then it was kind of like, no, you need to get out the building. They shut the elevators down, people trying to get down these stairs. Matt, when they showed the guy on TV that was in the elevator that when the plane hit, they, because this was live. So they showed the guy running out of the elevator, he was on fire.

And they was trying to put him out. So you watching this stuff like it's crazy like this stuff on the people that jumped Yeah, are you hearing them hit the ground right and that as they was doing the guy was doing the filming and hit the car I was listening to Tom Jordan must have been it. I don't know if it was it was certainly wasn't that day and the sister called in and it was kind of a light show and they were da da da da da da da and She talked about she was there

And she said she looked up in the tree, and there was a woman who was still a seat belt. But it came down to people talk about, is it fire? Do I want to die by fire? Or do I want to take my chance jumping?

And then you saw, because at first people were looking and they're going, what is that coming out the building? It was people. You can see people floating out the building. Oh, they were jumping. You can see them. And you can hear them when the guy was standing there interviewing people because he was talking. You can hear the people hitting the ground and they was hitting the cars that was parked. So they was jumping. So they said, don't go outside. That's why when they collapsed, they didn't go outside. They went down the stairs and went out the other way.

because it was just it was it's just surreal and and then let me you think about the aftermath of this right and and one of the things was um they just did something the other day 10 000 people have died since then since then yeah from when they're down breathing in to 10 000 people that's crazy

And so when you think about that moment, now we can get into, and that would be on a different day, the causes of this. But at that moment, we weren't really even thinking about what had motivated Ben Lawton. And here's the thing, boy, you all said got a story. They have something called the FBI Citizens Academy. And this kind of honors the who's who, you get invited to this.

So I was in this cohort. The cohort was supposed to start on September the 11th. I get a call from the FBI guy saying, I guess, you know, we've been deployed to DC. And so we won't be having a real started in the spring. And it was funny because when the guy came out to interview me.

They were FBI, right? So they asked you all these boilerplate questions. And then when he thought I wasn't looking, he reached down and took one of my business cards when he thought I wasn't looking. I know, okay. So it was, I don't know, you know, phone lines open. I don't know what you experienced on that day. It's rare. It's rare in this country where the majority of people, of course, you know, then the conspiracy people come out, you know, we got, we got all of that.

Uh, it's not a conspiracy. Well, like you said, we could talk about that another day. No, no, no. What I'm saying is that there's a lot that came out because even though things are true, it could still be a conspiracy because we looked at the, we looked at the definition, right? Yeah. And I'm just saying that there was things like I went in because people going like, well, how could that building come down? And I went in as there's this, this whole thing and study of metals called metallurgic metallurgy. I can never do it. And I went and read this article and they talked about

those planes were purposely chosen, okay? Because of the fuel. Because what they were doing, it was a bomb. Now people, and even they did this at the 9-11 Memorial in New York, the people who had died in 95-96 when they tried to blow it up in the basement, they include them in now. So when they tried to do that and found out, no, they didn't have enough of a bomb to bring down those buildings,

That's when someone said, well, you know what? What about a flying bomb? I mean, and in political science, we used to study this thing called the unthinkable. What happens when the unthinkable happens? And what it is is something we never anticipated. And then you just didn't see it coming. I mean, to this day, when I got up on September 11, 2001, the last thing on my list of what could happen today was three planes flying in the building.

You never really expect none of that. I mean, even, I would say, even people who are quote unquote living in war zones, you don't expect, all right, tomorrow's gonna be my last day. You know, like that just doesn't come to mind, you know? And so, both of you did. Think about the day they called in sick. Yeah, man, I was watching. People that were late.

You know, I mean or the people who went in for a shift and then left. No, no who normally wouldn't come in for a shift. Oh, yeah, you know, I mean Mr. Mr. Plane or somebody swiss dude of mr. Mr. Plane Mr. Plane he missed the plane and he was tripping like yeah And he missed the plane and it was it was the one lady that was supposed to be at work She was on her way to work, but I think she got a call

from her husband or something to come back to the house for something. I was watching the documentary and she went back to the house when she went back to the house, walked in, the TV was on. That's when it happened. But she would have been on that floor. That's the floor she would have been on when the first plane hit. You two give a real. A real eye-opening perspective.

because both of you were adults when that happened. I was a kid, like a real young kid. I was in like the third, maybe the fourth grade. So yeah. So I was, I didn't understand what was going on. Yeah. So we had smart boards. Our school was the first school to have smart boards. So we was watching like, so the older kids, which were like in middle school, they, they actually saw a second playing here.

We had an administrator come into the office, I mean, come into our classroom and was like, oh, something hit the World Trade Center. I don't even know what the World Trade Center is. I don't know where it's at. I'm in third grade. So then the second plane hit, and then she came in. She just rushed in. It's a movie. She was like, a second plane just hit the World Trade Center. America is under attack. And you know, little kids.

We looking like what? Attack, what? And so then they changed, I mean, our whole school day changed. And so then they changed the smart board. We were literally on the lesson. I can't even remember what our lesson was on, but they changed it. We could watch TV on the smart board. And so we were watching the Today Show, Matt Lauer, Katie Curd. And we were just watching all of that. And I could just remember as a kid,

being scared to go outside and scared to you know be around Arab or I think there was I wasn't necessarily afraid of Muslim people but I was I was I was afraid of Arab people you didn't know who the enemy right you don't know and because I was the kid and and you know whatever we see in here we soak it up like a sponge

Obviously, I've grown older and wiser. So, like, I know. But that time was crazy because the entire nation was shut down. And you want to know what makes. I always appreciate hearing stories from Keith and my grandmother and his mom because, like, and my mom, like, they experienced a lot when you talk about he was just talking about the depression.

you know, our late pastor, you know, he went through the depression, you know, my grandmother went through the depression, you know, JFK, MLK being assassinated, you know, the wars, the many wars that have taken place, Vietnam and so forth, 9-11, first black president, and it came to a point to where

Me and Kiefer just talking about historical things and I'm like man a Lot of the stuff that I've experienced are gonna be in the the history books that are gonna be taught But you know it was it was surrealist it's I could tell you I was at home Because I was in morning kindergarten when

JFK was assassinated. And I remember that weekend I was very upset because they didn't show any cartoons. We had to set up and look at that coffin, right? That's what we looked at. Because TV was different back then. They used to tell me TV used to go off. It did. That's crazy to me.

TV used to, I think it was, what was it, two o'clock in the morning, one o'clock in the morning? It could be midnight. Yeah, midnight. And then they'll show that flag. Then you get the test pattern. Yep. And then either that or it'll go just from that perspective. So, everyone, we were talking about the pandemic. We've never seen the world shut down. But then if we just think about today,

Well, we saw the nation shut down. We just didn't think about it that way. And, you know, it was, you know, when we, and I know we're in what we're in right now. But there were condolences coming from all over the world. We got condolences from Iran on that day. Now, I think, no, no, we found out later was the Saudis.

It was the Saudis and and that was but because of our oil relationship with them And again, they said the only planes other than military planes that flew on September the 12th Were the planes to fly to bin Laden family out of America, right? Yeah after they grounded everything and I can remember going down the 12th and believe and That's a flight path. You can see planes coming in land at Mitchell. Yeah, nothing in the sky

No, no, because I remember being a kid. I finally got home and at the bottom of the news, it was just saying the airport closed this mall closed this city closed. I mean, everything was closed. And I was like, dang, y'all could close the mall. You know, because again, I'm a kid. So I'm like, they shut down everything.

Yeah, and I think, you know, it, it, it's now the, and it hit me when I saw the reopening, the garage and the hi-hat. I remember that Friday because we were, you know, you just wanted to be with people, you know, on a social, so I remember going to fish fry, me and my buddy went to the hi-hat, just so, you know, you could

Because I know the people I work with, we were dealing with what we were dealing with. But to go and I thought that's interesting, the high hat when I think about, they have great fish right too, that we went. And then that Sunday, churches were packed. People went to church that Sunday, man. It was like, ooh, because you didn't know. You didn't know.

And that was now when we do the post mortem, we begin to realize that there were some things that led up to it. And you know that one more thing that just stuck out to me was the recovery and the cleanup. And they would show, you know, a month later.

You know, two months later and that stuff was still there for a long time. Mind you, they were working 24 hours and I was like, man, when are they ever going to clean this up? And then they they had a big ceremony for when the like the last big stuff. And I was telling you all, I remember my co-worker, Mike Barber had gone out to New York in, I want to say, November, December of that year. And he talked about because a lot of the.

Rubber was still there. Yeah, and then me and Rhonda went to New York that spring and The size of that hole you just You cuz you don't unless you saw the World Trade Center You don't realize how big those buildings were the size of that hole was like oh my god This this the the scale and the magnitude of that and let me say this about the lot

Most people don't know. He was a trained engineer. And so he understood this whole thing. And they talked about, like, if you go to the military academies, that usually engineering is the one thing that they're studying there because of war, right? You know, what you need to do. But it was one of those things where, for a moment, David won.

And then we go forward and then we find out that there's some real complicated things there. I won't consider it a David Bursley life thing. Oh, yeah. Come on. Al-Qaeda? Yeah. America? Yeah. I mean, I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, because Al-Qaeda was considered small fry and America was the big bad. Yeah, right. I mean, and what terrorism does is just a reaction that everybody had, right? It puts a fear in you.

That's what terrorism does to make the point. And if you want to talk about some of the things that motivated bin Laden, one of the things was when they put American troops into Saudi Arabia and he felt like they had violated because that's Saudi Arabia's where Mecca is and that violation. There were other things there. I've heard everything from, and you can go on a lot of these

Theories can be factually debunked But when things happen because we just cannot accept as human beings random acts That's hard for us and maybe it's because of our religious Catechism or you know, it's God but sometimes things are just Random they lined up the way they lined up on the day that they lined up and damn You know because we talked about the people who missed the plane

Talked about people who for whatever reasons called in sick that day I only think I would say about random is it wasn't a coincidence that them people took out that long that uh, that life that that insurance policy it wasn't that that wasn't that wasn't a coincidence, so Howard Lucknick who is he's over commerce? I forgot he was over cat and Fitzgerald cat and Fitzgerald lost 600 plus people That plane hit their floor

It was and because I'm somewhat of a student of history always going Sometimes the facts are not what we want them to be but sometimes things just are what they are and That's hard because like I said human beings like my wife always reminds me. She said, you know, you always say black people just don't die There's always a story, you know around now. No what happened with DJ was, you know, so

But sometimes it really isn't and I can't explain it. I I've tried to explain it. We can explain it because it's been told to us. But like you said, I don't know. I don't I can't explain why my life has been the way it's been. The things that have I experienced in my life where it wasn't planned. Right. You know, you you you you you could you can explain it now. Maybe you couldn't explain it when it was going on. But.

As time passes, things become very clear. You know, you got the squint to see it as time moves on. All right. All right. So I wanted to do that. I didn't want this day to go by. Let me say something, folks. And I was just listening to the names that they were reading. A lot of black and Hispanic folks lost their lives on that day. Yeah, it was New York.

No, the Pentagon, they were just looking at the number, I was just looking at the number of black people at the Pentagon. So anyway, happiness donuts as God's grace and mercy. Yeah. All right, you're listening to Community Voice. And again, this, I just wanted to do this at the beginning of the program when we get back. We'll do our free flow Friday. We'll take a quick break and we'll be right back.

For those who are watching on YouTube and want to know why I'm dressed like this is I'm going to be like celebration of God know pretty much all my life James Walls, Jr. And so we were going to so I'll be cutting out here a little bit early to get there for his service and then tomorrow at the Zion Hill Church We'll be celebrating the life

assisted Barbara Powell. She loved her to death. They heard her husband. They really embraced me and Rhonda. And if people ever come and they hear me, they know when I do benediction, how seriously I take benediction, right? But whenever they would be doing the benediction song, she'd reach out and grab somebody's hand.

Right. And, uh, so I remember that. So Rhonda and I were over with a brother Powell last night and, um, a brother Powell was my guy. You know, he, he, he up on me, uh, you doing a funeral month. Man, it's more than a funeral month. Um, but he was talking last night. It kind of gets us into Hater Nation a little bit. Well, before you go to Hater Nation, like you wanted to pause it. Uh,

I'm also going to a memorial service at funeral tomorrow. Mama Joyce. Her services are tomorrow. Signature service. Signature service, yep. 4065 North 35th Street. So her services will be tomorrow.

Uh, it says it says social gathering at teen and then the services at 11 Sister pal From 10 to 11 the visitation and then the service at 11 Yeah, I you know We should really appreciate living. Oh, yeah

You know, I mean that that that we can sit up and complain about it thing. But then when you kind of sit up and think of you still breathing. And so thank God for that. So anyway, I wanted to so just to explain why I'm sitting here looking like a Mr. Gaitman. But you always look like that. So they pretty much get after eight years. They know. Oh, keep that. You know, I mean, he been like this for eight years.

Mr. Gaiman on the monsters. Oh, man, it's some of the deaf jokes. Well, you know, you're not supposed to laugh, but you go like, that was pretty clever. That was pretty clever. All right. Gator Nation. So Gator Nation. We endured last week, but. I got some for today, and it's only it's only two was really three. But we just stick with the two, you know.

We could go to the three. My first one is home fans booing the home team. I'm not a fan of that. I really despise that. And I. I don't like. The teams that I'm going against for their home fans to be born, like I don't like that. And I definitely don't like. My home fans booing our team like that.

It's just tasteful. And it's like, man, have some coot about yourself. Counterpoint. It's the home team. Counterpoint. You shouldn't boo your home team. You stink it up the joint. You stink it up the joint. You play it like garbage. And I want to let you know, I am not pleased with how you play it. What are you going to do? Sit on my note? Hey, guys. Oh, no, no. That happens. People have bad days.

The only caveat is if you see poor effort okay poor effort, you know, but I'm really not with the booing of the home sometimes you sometimes it's just not your day

Okay, you know and don't you think I know that if I'm a if I'm one of those players That's having a bad day. You don't think I don't realize thing. I'm just not hitting today and I'm letting you know I don't have a problem with it. I think it should be done. No, no I think it should be done more. I'll be honest with now

Now if we had a kid's basketball game, we had a youth game. Oh man, you suck. I don't like that. I'm trying to lie to the youth league. Do you ball in high school and play it also? No, man.

I don't like that. I do. I think I think is what I'm going. Hey, how come that dude that the Brewers put in the game that they had to sit back? Oh, he should have been they should have booed him out the joint. Sorry, man. He was tripping. He always lost us that game. Sure did. And I was going like a eight one because they tell you with the Brewers and they go up two runs with that bullpen is they hard to usually if the Brewers get about four runs.

You you think that you know, they are really good. I'm gonna say two or more because like I said, the bullpen is so good, but this dude man, it was seven. I'm not it was eight one at one point. It was eight to two. And then he but he loaded the bases man. I'm going like because you know what? I can go with we have direct TV now. So you're going to get the highlights, right? So I'm watching that I'm between three things I got.

You know, do down in Dallas. Oh, I got the football game, right? And then, you know, so I'm going. So I had to actually watch the ninth inning because I thought it was over when they was up because they were like eight one with the seventh inning or something like that. It was the eighth inning. But anyway, yeah, stop, stop, stop booing the home team. I agree. Do not do that. I agree. Do the home team. No.

We just draw the line. Not the little kids though. Don't boo. Don't boo. Not this second point. This second point really grinds my gears because, you know, it's be about priorities with our people. OK. You know, and I'm say society when I say our people. OK. These athletes and entertainers that got these podcasts.

That can't read their commercials It's annoying me man these these people that cannot Remind you we've done commercials before so even if you can't read is hard that could split it up No, they could chop it up to make it to where you read it straight through even though you should be bad at the editors No, I'm mad at them. You know I'm saying because you didn't put all this value into getting money

But you can't read. They can read. They can't read. You you you listen into a man. Are you here in the word? Are you here in the words? Are they reading something? They started. OK, but that's the same as that on me because you started. You can't read. No. They can't finish the sentence. And like I said, what when you doing commercials or whatever,

Take one, take two, it's like acting, you know? You get however many takes to get it right. Ask Dibo. Dibo, no, he didn't get it with all of us. That's what I'm saying to ask him, because some of us, nine takes, twelve takes. I'm cool with that. I'm cool with that. But once you put it out to the people, you got to have it right, man. Caller, I see.

Call us see you gonna take a quick break. It will be right back

All right, welcome back. Carla, welcome to the program. Good morning, Yonair. Good morning, Yonair. Yes, but I was thinking about something. And I was driving past a couple of houses. And I say to myself, if you jumped out the second window, the only thing you would do is break a bone. Because the laws of gravity, you don't have enough weight. And then I was looking, well, if you really wanted to do the job, you would have to jump off the roof.

or the bill than if you really was trying to take your life. Then I walked in the kitchen and I pulled out some big knives. Now I say, now if you use like a little steak knife, you might separate, right? But if you cut it left or right, because you have so many pallets in your blood, it's going to try to stop it. But if you take a good knife, or you know the knife you use to cut the catfish off with, you know, chopping it on the concrete, we'll begin that.

Well, I'm good. Well, okay. Well, what we're getting at is that the person we tried to commit suicide was just a clout for health and we shouldn't put it on mental health. Because if I'm looking at, because if you really trying to kill yourself, if you cut me a wrist from left to right, the blood is not going to shoot 60 feet or five feet. You have to cut it or angle or cut it up and down. If you check out the second floor window, you're going to break a bone. You're not going to kill yourself. And then you look at the fact she had three kids. It takes a lot to have a baby.

You know what I mean? That the same person did not, but the same person. No, they were trying to figure out who you were talking about. You're talking about the lady in Massachusetts. Because another lady tried to do it, but she fell as well. Well, she's paralyzed. She's paralyzed. Yeah, but she fell and killed herself though, but she did good, but she didn't kill herself. Do you know Dr. King did the same thing when he was a kid? There was something that happened with his aunt.

Something happened. He felt real guilty about it and he jumped out a window. Yeah, I'm gonna tell you. Yeah, I'm sorry that happened, but if I knew that you ain't giving me no guidance. Um, but when I was looking at this right here, um, I was looking at the fact that this person had three kids. I'm not trying to be funny. I'm just saying if you try to kill my, if you try to kill yourself, how are you trying to guide me? What wouldn't, and I don't know how true this is. The rationale.

from an irrational mind was that if um it was something to she wanted to commit suicide but she wanted to be with her kids so that's why she decided to kill her kids that that that's about that i know i'm just saying it's a rationale from an irrational mind but it

you want to be with your kids, but you don't care. Well, if you want to be with your kids, why kill your kids and not kill yourself? And that's what I'm saying that it is. So, and I'm glad we, you know, bringing this up now because now we know it's not mental health. Well, yeah, it is mental health. No, because when a black woman do it, she's automatically guilty. And she don't get that it's a mental health, but now she doesn't have the lawyers.

she doesn't have the lawyers this woman had this woman had the best lawyer but it shouldn't matter about the lawyers man that's crazy it does no what i said is that it shouldn't matter about the lawyers we know that it's better to be guilty and rich than innocent and poor we know that already just from the justices

or what about just being guilty and white, you know, like the little fencing girls, like the one who were like, like they stared them people like they were trying to cook a good, you know, Tamahawk steak and then she bust down somebody from the church and they found her off the church stuff with the landlids, but they said that with mental health, that takes a lot. You should laugh at that, but that girl got some problems because she was in, she ended up with this transgender person when they caught her down in Illinois.

She tells her story as soon as the police come up on her, right? Uh, I don't know if she should be released. I think she really has some really deep mental health challenges. So I don't think she should be on the streets. Well, well, I'm just getting, well, I'm just seeing when I look at a lot of stuff, a lot of things they see in this mental health and it's not mental health, because if you're black, your name is Shaquisha, Mercedes, trouble, you're going.

Yeah, you're going right from here and now you're champions and yeast infections. If there's no mental health, but if you are white and you're goofy, now you have all these things going on. Don't you think how we talk about mental health in our community kind of contributes to that? You know, I was we were having this discussion yesterday when Michelle was here and and and we're in denial.

about that people have, and then we get to talking with them. In denial about what? About mental health and black people committing suicide. And they have been for the last 20 plus years talking about the increase of suicide attempts among young black teenagers, right? So, you know, it's there. And though you and I should thank God that we're in relatively sound mind, there are other people out there really struggling there.

And that's hard because unless you walked in that person's shoes, it's kind of hard. But I think it's also how we talk about mental health, how we talk about health in general in our community, right? But do you feel, and I'm just asking all three of you, do you feel sometimes that's just a mental crutch? Because sometimes they don't want to get off the pot. Some people just sit there and say, oh, I got mental health. But then when you call the ambulance,

They, they, they, they, they, they wise up real quick. Hey, how you doing? Well, cause you know, when they hear that ambulance coming, they know it's three jacket and white. Well, it was okay. I do think it's a one size fits all. I, I mean, I do think that it's not a one size fits all. Um, I do think that, you know, there are people that go through things silently and when, I mean, we always say,

the the generic, oh, you should get some help or I'm here for you or here is this therapist. Have you tried this out? And a lot of the times those those things don't open the hearts to those individuals to move them in a way that, you know, they're able to to steadily fight those battles because, you know, we all have our our daily

battles within ourselves. But it's just things that we've built up along the way that keep us from not wanting to go down that negative path. But certain people, they haven't found that niche or that coping mechanism that can keep them on that road.

Only reason why I say that because sometimes I think they use that to keep black people label or to put them on code that because you know a lot of times when they go to them strengths, a lot of them strengths are Jewish. I think we have far more people running around here. The jails, our prisons are filled with people dealing with mental health because we don't want to put the money in the treatment. We just lock them up.

You know, and so I think that like I said, it is a conversation that we have to have, you know, you know, I talked, you know, when I talked to Dr. Leah Knox, we talk a lot about this or, or, or Kweiku, you know, there are things there is neurological in some instances. It is emotional in some instances, but that shows you the power of the brain, right? But I think that we have gotten, you know, like there was a little boy.

who died tragically because these folks were Pentecostal people. They believed he had a demon. So they get on him and they literally suffocate this kid to death. That ignorance caused a life. We need to understand that mental health and mental health challenges are real. And for some people, they're more severe than it is for other folks. Some of us, we might deal with a feeling a little morose, you know, you feel a little down.

But there are people there who are seriously dealing with manic behavior, you know, and we've always either locked them up or we ignored it, right? Okay, well, and I understand it, but what I don't understand is that we will lock our eyes up over mental health, but we'll let somebody who's Caucasian.

run to the truck stop and get her a good ol' truck stop system. I wouldn't say we, I would just say the justice system. Yeah, well the justice system. I just don't want it to be to the point that we don't, we start laboring black people. Yeah. For them to have a good dose of Prozac. That's all. Have yourself a good day and have a shot of whatever you do. Maybe start a little dope, but it is Friday. Okay, bye-bye. All right, that might contribute.

You listen to community voice, we'll take a quick break and we'll be right back. Welcome back, boy. I'm telling you, man. Oh my God. He's an old dude, man. He's an old dude. We just sort of been talking, as you know, the football season started on Wednesday.

And then last night we had what the Rams and 49ers from Australia and Down under so we were making the argument now. I'm gonna tell you man. I'm a fan of red zone I mean how many y'all have red zone? Red zones the bomb because I can I can I just get I don't have to watch all that other superfluous stuff That's why I can't go to basketball games now

in person because I'm used to watching it on TV. When the commercial comes on, the time out, I can go here, I can go to, at the game, you just kind of have to, you sit there. I mean, it's, it's- Yo, your attention span is supposed to be way more expanded. Man, I don't know, I don't get so programmed. Carla, welcome to the program. Good morning, you in there. Hey, good morning. Good morning. I got a couple of comments. One is, it's a back.

to Al's comments. Are you aware in 2019 or 2018, there was a black woman in the state of Massachusetts in front of the same judge that did the exact same thing that this Lindsey woman did, and she was prosecuted for a triple life sentence in front of the same judge? No, I didn't know that. But it doesn't surprise me. But it wasn't the judge.

No, I know it wasn't the judge but see the thing to it is is that there wasn't any discussion about post-depression on on in the In the case so he was just when he killed her three kids and she was prosecuted right away Okay, did she so did they get a reason why she killed three kids same same same postpartum? Yeah, same thing. Okay, and there was some real debate going back and forth about how long postpartum

Depression last and postpartum psychosis only a woman would know well and that that that's the whole thing and then that's what I've learned because and the doctor's going your symptoms well a mother would know yeah so I'm I don't know but I bet you that black look that black woman probably didn't have the same legal representation this woman had oh well you know that but see the court system is always it's always a double standards when it comes to black and white

in front of the in the courtroom. I would agree with that. That's where the critical race theory is real and accurate. So I agree with that. But then you have an example of O.J. Simpson, right? Yeah, O.J. Simpson was the idiot. Okay. And I'm coming to the conclusion now. He might have did it. He was innocent. He might have did it.

I'm not. I didn't want to believe it there, but you know, 30 years later, he might have did it. He not cutting, no. Well, what do you, what they say, cut off somebody tongue or cut it, put it through the throat or that he, it was something meticulous that they said how their bodies was, was, uh, you know, unaligned. Why didn't he do it, Clark? Huh? Why didn't he do it? But see, this is, this is the deal with, with OJ. He not doing it. First of all, it was impossible.

for one person to kill two people at the same time like they is here. But the problem about OJ is he writes a book and talk about the murder. If I did it. Yeah, if I did it. Well, nobody's saying that OJ ain't a fool. He already knew that he was a fool, but that don't mean that he was guilty. How about the irony, though? He gets convicted of stealing his own stuff.

Yeah, I steal my stuff, too. Well, I'm saying, but he hit away with murder. Did he get convicted? Did he get convicted for stealing his own stuff? It's like what Cat Williams said, man. He should have been the last person across the street. He should have been looking both ways. He should. He, you know, but he felt invisible. He felt, and what we say, he found out real quickly. He found out real quickly. He went from, he went from OJ to Negan.

real quickly. Because they wanted him out. That's why he moved to Florida. They wanted him out of Brentwood. He can go in the restaurants. Those white folks, man, they turned their backs on OJ. See, the problem with OJ is that 17, he was black and by the time he went in the field, he became white. He hanging around the white folks. Oh, yeah, he owned it. He could get away with stuff that white people do. And all his black friends turned their back on him.

I mean all his white friends turned their back on him when he got a charge for their murder case. When they took the jury out to his house. Johnny Cochran went and took down all these pictures, right? Put up all these pictures of black people. Right. And was it Kardashian or somebody walked in the house? Said, we ain't never seen this many black people up in here. And he either turned it all around like I'm because he figured out the jury. You know, and that's the thing about a jury.

You know, there's a lot that goes into it. This dude who held out, you know, on the case with, with Lindsay, I don't know where it last name. I don't know if it was Blake. He held out. The other 11 wanted her to get off on an insanity plea. Do you think he was paid by the, by the, by the defense? No, I think he, uh, okay. It's a problem. It's, it's, it's, it's two more comments and then I'm gone. Uh, check out.

Chris Cuomo and DL Hugh Billy on YouTube. That was very good. Okay. Very good. And the second one, if you haven't, you should see the oddity. That's a great movie. Okay. I appreciate you. I appreciate y'all. Chris Cuomo, ever since he isn't on CNN, I think his material has gotten a little bit better. He could be himself.

Yeah, and you know a little bit more freedom here leaving because of his support for his brother. I Don't know Lose my job take care of my brother. I don't know. Well, he didn't he lie That too. Yeah, so that it wasn't just taking up for your brother. He lied You lied too, but you know the lot whenever you lie about something you that's that's that's that's your family for your fall come

That's the other thing, you know, talk about remembering where you were.

When something happened, how many y'all remember where you were during the Bronco chase? I was like One and a half I was at the crazy go go That was that was and then the Knicks were playing when they play in the Pacers No, it was the finals at the finals. So who's the Knicks against the Rockets? Yeah, and they going back and forth between that game

And then they showed that weekend of the Island, not the Islanders, the Rangers won their first Stanley Cup first time in I don't know, 40 years. Arnold Palmer's last U.S. Open happened all on that week. That day. That day. That day. So that happened on a Sunday. No, it was a Friday. You said Arnold Palmer won. No, no. So he played his last match. He didn't make the cut. OK, because he played on Friday.

And so that was his last I think is it wasn't the masters that would be the us over happiness said that her postpartum lasted for 12 months so But she never had those thoughts so like I said, it's not a one size fits all but only a mother and a woman could really answer those questions because I I don't I don't like people have explained postpartum and I Was I really can't understand it

Yeah, he kept his old he kept his NFL pension because you can't attach an NFL pitching and I found this out when I started working for child support because there was a former NFL player and they were trying to get the child support But they couldn't garnish the pension because it's protected How do you get pensions that's protect? I don't know if all pensions. I know the NFL pensions are so

Oh, yeah, he yeah when they went in and sued them And they got the judgment and they still this dude he wasn't gonna pay him He wasn't gonna pay him. All right. We talked about the brewers magic numbers five To clench well, yeah, they swept they swept the cubbies. Yeah, but it got swept and I was talking when I was talking to Cecilia yesterday They also got swept by the reds who the brewers also

You worried about the wrong. We're talking about the cup, man. You talking about old stuff. That's so proud of those stuff, because they play the Reds tonight. Yeah, and they go, are we on the winning streak, yes or no? Yes. That's all. That's the only thing that matters. What did you do on your last outing?

But the problem. Ain't no buts. Hold on. What did you do on your last outing? See, but the problem with that statement of are we on the street is if the Brewers continue to win, they would get that first round by, right? We already is number one. Right. I know. But the issue is and what tends to happen is we tend to cool off the once we get to buy. Ooh. Because the once you stay in, stay in the fire and you keep rolling from the wild card on,

that's when teams normally get hot and stay hot. But when you take that break and you gotta come back and find your niche again, that's where we've been having issues at. They are right. Okay. So, so it's all about with the Brewers is really all about two teams to me. Dodgers. The Dodgers and the Braves. Braves. Because when we went to the, yeah, he did. When we went to Atlanta, we struggled.

But when Atlanta came here, we, we, uh, we told them up. So we really need that home field. Yeah, we really need that because now we did mess up the Dodgers in LA, but everybody know that the Dodgers, they come on, you know, middle, middle of September, late September, and then in October, you know what I mean? And so is they about to clench their vision to 11 games? Yeah. Well,

They they are because the Padres winning streak right now. The Padres and the Diamondbacks are fighting for the wild card. Now the Cubs, they are above both of them. But now they're only two games up. So if they don't get it together, potentially they could miss the playoffs. Now that will be highly unlikely. But it could happen just because, you know, two games, you know, that's one.

That's one series. That's one three game series, four game series. Well, they need to they need to handle the business. They being a person to handle the business with the Reds. And because it doesn't look like at this point, the Dodgers are going anywhere. Well, the Dodgers ain't never going anywhere with that payroll that they got that that that checkbook that they got. See where the Braves are. I think I think.

I think the Brewers will get him a go. You think he's going to do what? Get the Dodgers and a go. If they're all the Braves, when they... I think when they come to that playoff, they know how they keep getting closer and closer every year. Yeah. So I think this year... I think they're going to learn from last year. That's what I said. And I think they need to... They have to decide who that third starter is going to be. Man, well, who's our second starter? Played chess because Kyle Henderson, he been trippin' ever since he came.

Back from he pitched like he pitched well the other night, though. No. Yeah, he did. Or is his name Anderson then? No, Anderson Anderson is one of them when he started off the year really good. And now do tripping where they they are actually thinking about potentially putting him in the bullpen. I know who you I know who you talking about.

because uh He pitched after the maze. That's what you talking about. He pitched the last game. Yeah, he he not the guy that I'm talking about. Yeah, I thought that was Because what his other was Gasser? No His name I thought his name was Kyle Kyle something Okay, let's see before I get out of here brewers

Henderson Kyle Harrison. That's his name Harrison. Yeah. Harrison tripping lately. Yeah. I don't know what's going on. Yeah. He uh he was he was doing really good and now he he can't do nothing and you was talking about Logan Henderson. Yep. Yeah. So, I think he he they gotta get a

Make sure now good that bullpen is solid. Everybody's healthy in the bullpen. And that's how they get with the Cubs. You know, they just say that we can get into the Cubs bullpen because like I said, the bullpen is terrible. Yeah. And it's just like, you know, all team sports is it really take a team effort. You know, the haters could be doing a thing, even a starting pitch and could be doing a thing. But if that bullpen doing what they need to do to close that game.

you lose and that's what's happening with the Cubs. Yeah, you go up eight one and then you end up one and eight six. How many years that they had a good bullpen though the Cubs? They always had a good bullpen. I don't worry about them so I don't know. I think we just got a good a good bullpen this year. We do. We do. I mean, it's real good bullpen. It's that starting pitching that you're a little worried about. Yeah. Cuz Mizorowski, he probably won the side young but he's not getting wins. He's telling off too.

He what? He telling off. What are you talking about? He ain't as dominant as he once was earlier in the season. Oh man, because that fatigue. Most hitters are fastball hitters. And once they can sit up and time up your fastball, that's why he was trying to throw that slider because now again, when you throwing it at 103, 102. He's the average. He's the average like.

eight, nine strikeouts, you know, him getting 10 strikeouts was really nothing. Well, because we've seen him. Yeah. Now he, you know, his last few ones, he been at six and seven. I think he's saving himself for the playoffs. Well, I don't think he's ever had the goal like he's pitching more innings. Yeah, this is his first four year. Yeah, they wanted to get to do five, at least five or six innings, but he's getting knocked out or, you know, he's giving up runs.

I think the last game though, he gave up, he just gave up the one earned right, just the one, but they weren't scored. Right. And Brewers didn't score until what the ninth inning. So, yeah, I mean, he he's probably going to win the side young. It was one to one going into the. Yeah, that was great pitching to the ninth and then they scored those two runs made it three one and they thought that that was they wanted for Cheerio came up at that home run and then went into extra innings.

Alright, let me let's last little thing before I hit the road. Yes, sir. What I thought you was going to give us a you're going to be gone. So you're going to give us your your Packers prediction. Yeah, the plan in Minnesota, Minnesota has a new quarterback though. So I'm going to say the Packers by a touch now.

There we go. We're going to get we're going to get our stuff after the break. We're going to get it after the break. Keith, are you going to sign the song? No, because y'all still got another half an hour to go. But let me thank everybody. Sign yourself. That's what I'm talking about. Sign yourself. Sign us to the break. You remember that Friday I came in and I just got this gig because I used to do

11, I used to do 11 to noon. So Wednesday, I got this nine. So I come in and man, it's like 11 o'clock Friday. I'm signing off. People blowing up before where you going? Oh, that's right. I got another hour. Let me thank you fellas, man. Y'all have a good weekend. You too. You're listening to Community Voice.

or as we called it yesterday, but key. It was the community voice. We're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back. Welcome back. And now it's time for the protégé's perspective. Was there ever a point in your life where you were fearless? Did you ever have the mindset that you could do all things? No hesitation, no contemplation, no self doubt. Was it arrogance, naivete,

or was it ignorance? Whether it was touching a hostile, petting animals at the petting zoo or going for a swim on the deep end, nothing would stop you from at least the attempt of trying new things. Yet as you got older, the things you tried became less new and more of what you knew. Self doubt started to creep in. Hesitation started to seep in.

and that once fearless mind state has now disappeared. What happened? Was it the continuous obstacles of life? Is it the wear and tear of the many battle wounds that you have that still sting? Do you remember when fear wasn't even a thing? Were those thoughts and actions in the past just that of a childish being? Could you now be more evolved?

less naive. Is there a place where we can both be fearless and well-informed? Wisdom comes from experience, but the climb and the fall coexist when wisdom is involved. So many of us were fearless when we could just crawl, but fear became omnipresent when we could stand tall.

If we are to become limitless, we have to revert back to being fearless. No limits, no boundaries, just faith in the willingness to keep on moving. And that is the protégé's perspective for this week. 414-444-5250 phone lines are open. 414-444.

five two five zero Also, just want to give a quick shout out to everyone who is tuned in on Facebook live and then also a shout out to everyone that is on YouTube as well Thank you all for joining the conversation listening To you know, just where we have to pour into the community for today Keith if you didn't remember he had to step out he

So, uh, just wanted to touch basis with, um, you know, us heading into the weekend. Uh, tomorrow is going to be Garfield days. It's supposed to be a really good, uh, day as far as weather. Supposed to be up in the 80s. And so just want to

Just give a shout out to everyone who will be out. I don't know if I will be out I may stop out there But you know just going to Garfield days is just always a good time reaching out Seeing people who I haven't seen you know people always say, you know, Milwaukee is so small but then

It's so many people that you know that you haven't seen it so long and then when we do Link up and go to you know Garfield A's or Summerfest or or stay fair and you ended up seeing seeing those people. Oh man Where you where you been that right and everybody say I've been here You know, I just don't go out right that that that's true that too because uh, you know

depending on your work schedule, and some people just don't go out regardless. You know, maybe they passed that time, but what you got planned for this weekend, Cart? You know, I'm going to God for a day with D-Bo, host the show with him. Okay. And then once I leave, I'm leaving out at four o'clock. We're going to Alpine Valley to see Little John and Pitbull.

To see who little John and pitbull. They uh, what is a blues jazz? No little John the rapper. Oh, little John is our boy. Yeah Yeah, and pitbull they perform it. Oh, you said pitbull See, okay No, no, I know I know pitbull is yeah, so my cousin my cousin He taking me you don't say so I told him yeah, I go so

Basically, I was supposed to be in Atlanta right now. But it got canceled. So then my cousin was, since you ain't going there, you want to go see Little John and Pitbull. And you said Alpine. Yeah. Where is that? Alpine Valley. Where does that? That's like, you know what? I think it's the north. We're going west. This will be my first time going. Man, I can't even tell you. It's my first time going. So I'm looking forward to it, man.

four one four four four four five two five zero phone lines are open four one four four four four five two five five zero caller thank you for your patience you're in there. How y'all doing today? All right you. So I was laughing really hard last night we all know how Al calls in it gets real extreme right.

with his conversation, especially about the Republicans. So I'm watching Jimmy Kimball last night, and he started talking about this thing called Grindr. So I'm like, what the hell is he talking about? So I Google Grindr, right? Do you know what it, do you know what it is? Yeah, no, it's the Grindr is a gay site, and that was actually broke on the internet when the Republicans came here to Wisconsin. It broke. Yes, they broke the internet.

And guess what? That's a gay site that you get on to look for gay sex. Wow. And guess what else? What else? It was, it did it in Texas, where it was at the other day. It did it in Milwaukee when they were here, like, right outside. It did it in Cleveland. And I think when I read it on Google, it did it in Arizona too. Now, the reason I started laughing went,

And I thought about El when I read that last night, because I had no idea what they were talking about. They always trying to talk about this moral stuff, right? So how is it that when they have a convention that they're breaking this site? Right. That's no coincidence. And you're talking against that whole topic.

That they were saying that the Democrats is turning is trying to turn America gay and all of this stuff right here that they was running on the LGBTQ And knowing that they are a part of this a part of that community So you you hiding to what you really are because when the conventions come We see who you really are because don't you think that that would change the game?

a openly gay Republican. Do you think that would change again? Of course it would, because of this whole thing of what they're doing with the army, they don't want any transgender, they don't want none of this, but these same people that's talking against it, it's a part of it. Right. Exactly, because I had no idea what he was talking about last night, so I googled, so I said, let me google this. And when I started reading it, and then they show, like, right outside when they showed the places that they had at conventions, that they,

so desperate that I mean that they're breaking this I mean overloading the site and I said wait I said I I said I gotta call in tomorrow and let them know because I was I was growling like because you know I could get a little extreme sometimes you know it's I don't have good points but I just don't like sometimes when you get so extreme you know but I but I was glad for last night because I was like dang all right I had no clue what this was yeah yeah and you see

That just speaks. I mean, I'm not a big fan of politics, but that just speaks to the hypocrisy and politics because you know Y'all are blowing up this site and you know what you say you uh What they do with the internet they broke they break in the internet But then they are going to denigrate these people who could be they voters

Exactly, you know, so you're doing this behind closed doors. But you know what's funny to be DJ though, what really got me though is what I always say, how do y'all follow this dude? How do y'all follow these people? You know what I'm saying? You go down dirty man. Because we know, you know, we know part why this war got started. He wanna claim that because it was death to America stuff. We know that.

was ever in those files. And the Democrats might be just as guilty to what they banged in there. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Nobody, nobody is exempt. They don't want those things to come out. So they rather kill people and all that kind of stuff. And we were talking the other day and I'm gonna say this and I'm gonna get off because they talking about, you know, how we're bombing their country and stuff. How would we feel if they killed what was a hundred and something of their children? Yeah.

They're not gonna forget that. No. Oh, no. And you know, some people like to, okay, I'm gonna let you think that I forgot about what you did and then I'm gonna get you later when I'm gonna catch you sleeping. Remember, I was telling y'all about this show that I was watching and I forgot. But man, I just, it was in my head, but it literally, one of the story plots was a revenge plot because

one of the guys had a son that was killed in a striking, you know, while they was at school. And then for you to say that, they're not going to forget. Now, that's another thing that we got to worry about. DJ, you sound just like my oldest son. Your voice, your speech patterns. You sound just like my oldest son. All right, y'all. God bless y'all. Y'all have a good week. Yeah, you too. Appreciate it.

Call it. Thank you for your patience. You're on there. Good morning morning. How you doing? All right, so Pretty good. Uh, we try to break it down for you. Have you ever hated a fusion system of water that's popularly and not for review? You sound like you like real close to the phone or something. So I can't understand. Is this better? Is this better? Yes. Oh good. Yeah, I was holding this. One of those track phones. The way I hold it. Okay.

Have you heard of the fusion system of William F. Buckley in National Review Magazine? No. Okay, it's really important you understand it. This is the fundamental basis of the Republican Party. It's not everybody hates gays, there's gay Republicans, but you have to understand individualism and the decentralization process. If you have like, Tel Aviv, Israel, where all the gay capital people

go and then you have Jerusalem at the other part of Israel where you got the Vatican right in the middle of Rome. Now Rome isn't a particularly conservative place but the Vatican is the capital of the Catholic Church. You can have a pocket of gay people right next to a pocket of conservative people and the decentralization of conservatism. You're an individual and you hang out with your individual friends. You can have a strip club in your neighborhood and right across the way they got no strip clubs.

So I'm on Brady Street in Prospect. So we could walk up and down Brady Street, and there's all kind of clubs there. There's all kind of nice cool places. But you go over to Downer, it's dead and sleeping. By time view, it's nine o'clock. Everything's asleep in the university neighborhood. I was shocked. OK, you can go up and down the university neighborhood, down by the deer club. All kind of stuff is happening. You go a couple of blocks away. It's all quiet. So a decentralized society based on individualism

You have the right in the left-wing fair society. Let you do your thing. That's the conservative way. There's no uniform thing in the Republican Party that says gay people are evil. It's when you say you're going to have women in boys in a girl's school and it's completely tax-funded by everybody so you can't have your own separate spot. So they're just saying you don't have the right to impose on your neighbor. I don't have the right to impose on you.

So we have an individualist social framework. It's not individualism like I'm anti-social. It's individualism in a libertarian way, but there's a conservative guy right across the street who has his little spot. Maybe he doesn't want strippers in his neighborhood, and I love strippers in my neighborhood. Maybe he doesn't want weed in his neighborhood, but I want weed in my neighborhood. We can have a little wall of separation voluntarily where he wants to live in his neighborhood, but I would want to live in that neighborhood.

Neighborhood around down and where it's all shut down by nine o'clock. I like Brady Street where it's open till two in the morning. Am I make it sense? Yeah This is the libertarian Republican way. It's real. That's more motherfucking look up fusion William F. Buckley And it's the basic this is there's a fight within the report. I mean, but isn't there an issue when it isn't there an issue when it becomes Really just like a full-on attack

on people and just their lifestyle? Can you repeat the beginning of your sentence because I'm kind of confused? I say, but isn't there an issue when it just becomes a full along attack on a certain person's lifestyle just because it seems to be different, but then, you know, when you start to uncover that onion peel, you know, it ain't really different because I mean, if we just gonna be real,

There there are gay people in in every religion. There's going to be gay people in every political party is going to be gay. I mean, it's that's just a humanistic trait Exactly, exactly. There's weed smokers who hold jobs. There's acid heads who created internet There's all kind of stuff like that. You had a hundred thousand two hundred three hundred thousand Acid has a wood stuck and there was no murders and then you had the alchemy breakfast

with the well-exposed and the Hell's Angels, blow up the whole place with alcohol. So you have two different worlds right in vicinity of each other, and you have people disregarding the fact that there was a bunch of acid had been walked at Woodstock, and many rock houses and jazz houses, and yet there's no trouble. But alcohol blew the place up. So now we're in a world where you can have your neighborhood and you can have weed, and somebody else doesn't like tobacco.

So you can have different neighborhoods and that's the libertarian way. And that's wrong with the Republican Party. But there's also people say, no, we can't have libertarians in the Republican Party. Yeah. I mean, I mean, from what it sounds like, you're just saying, like, it's just two different factions within the Republican Party. But we have we had that, though. The thing is that they are just so against.

you know, gay rights and things of that nature that it poses, or it appears to be hypocritical when, you know, when Jermaine and George points out, you know, that website seems to be getting lit up whenever they're conventions come into certain times. I've heard that dated before, and I have no idea if it's true, but I doubt there's going to be somebody that's so-called in the closet.

And then they're taking advantage of a brand new city and nobody knows them. You don't know. I don't know either. So it could be your right. And then you don't know. And then they may be all secret. And then they're out there saying all kind of stuff. You don't know until you actually know the person personally or something like that. And it could be because there's all kind of conflicts within the Republican Party, just like you got communists within the socialist.

within the progressives and you have a slippery slide in the other direction in the Democrat party. The Democrat party's gonna have to watch out. Either it's going to be communist or it's not. So we got that on both sides. We got it right away. Democrat party got to watch out for what? Communist! That's what's taking over the party! No, I know it ain't. I can't agree with you with that. It kind of is not taking over. I'm going to seize the means of production. What is seizing the means of production? You talking about socialism?

I mean, we all, we all benefit from, from socialism. And so we can't, we can't just say he's going to seize for me as a product. We can't, we can't just label socialism and communism as the same. I don't know if he said that, but, but the issue is that whenever we talk about socialism, John, whenever we talk about socialism, whenever we talk about socialism,

Communism always comes up and we can't just always do that, you know one I Said this a million times already We as a kid as a society as a world benefit from socialism All right, we benefit from public roads public schools the police department the fire department all of these public Works and fields and entities we benefit from we can't just all of a sudden

Labeled them as communists. I mean, that's what they was that's what they were doing back in the 60s and stuff and that created We see we saw how the 60s ended, you know, we saw we saw what went on in the 60s and how it ended This is the last one actually we don't have no more breaks. This is the end of the program in it. This is the end so Jermaine right out. Thank you Clark Kent who you

And Keith, thank you. Hopefully you got to where you need to go safe. Good Lord willing the creek don't rise. Keith will be back with you all on Monday. And as always, let's go from this place in peace.

Keith B. Parris

Good morning.

Welcome to Community Voice as we greet you on this 25th commemoration of the attack on 9-11.

Good morning, DJ.

Good morning, Martin.

Who you

Keith B. Parris

with?

Good morning, Ride Out.

Good

morning there, sir.

Keith B. Parris

And I've flown in the Kennedy once you kind of go out and then you go

on

Keith B. Parris

so I figured oh Must have been a plane some kind of malfunction and then I Could hear Rhonda go when Rhonda has this reaction She actually saw the second plane go in the building now it turns into something else.

He said the World Trade Center is no more I

remember

Keith B. Parris

that and then it was just like it hit me like whoa Then you hear about the plane going into the Pentagon right after that

Yeah,

Keith B. Parris

they used to be our location one of our locations and It was surreal.

So then when they showed the people who they claim was connected to it, it put this fear in me that every gas station that I went to,

it

was okay.

So I'm thinking about all of this stuff and I mean tears man started

Keith B. Parris

to flow man.

Matt,

Keith B. Parris

when

they showed the guy on TV that was in the elevator that when the plane hit, they, because this was live.

So they showed the guy running out of the elevator, he was on fire.

And they was trying to put him out.

So you watching this stuff like it's crazy like this stuff

Keith B. Parris

on the people that jumped

Yeah,

Keith B. Parris

are you

hearing them hit the ground

Keith B. Parris

right and that

as they was doing

Keith B. Parris

the guy was doing the filming and hit the car I was listening to Tom Jordan must have been it.

I don't know if it was it was certainly wasn't that day and the sister called in and it was kind of a light show and they were da da da da da da da and She talked about she was there

And she said she looked up in the tree and there was a woman who was still a seat belt.

Yeah, yeah.

But you know, it came down to like people talk about, is it fire?

Do I want to die by fire?

Or do I want to take my chance jumping?

And then you saw, because at first people were looking and they're going, what is that coming out the building?

It was people.

You can see people floating out the building.

Oh, they were jumping.

You can see them.

And you can hear them when the guy was standing there interviewing people because he was talking.

You can hear the people hitting the ground and they was hitting the cars that was parked.

So they was jumping.

Right.

Keith B. Parris

So the fire, so they said, don't go outside.

That's why when they collapsed, they didn't go outside.

They went down the stairs and went out the other way.

because it was just it was it's just surreal and and then let me you think about the aftermath of this right and and one of the things was um they just did something the other day 10 000 people have died

since then

Keith B. Parris

since then

yeah

Keith B. Parris

from when they're down breathing in to 10 000 people that's crazy

Uh, it's

not a conspiracy.

Well, like you said, we could talk about that another

Keith B. Parris

day.

No, no, no.

What I'm saying is that there's a lot that came out because even though things

are true, it could still be a conspiracy

Keith B. Parris

because we

looked at the, we looked at the definition,

Keith B. Parris

right?

Yeah.

And I'm just saying that there was things like I went in because people going like, well, how could that building come down?

And I went in as there's this, this whole thing and study of metals called metallurgic metallurgy.

I can never do it.

And I went and read this article and they talked about

those planes were purposely chosen,

okay?

Keith B. Parris

You

never really expect none of that.

I mean, even, I would say, even people who are quote unquote living in war zones, you don't expect, all right, tomorrow's gonna be my last day.

You know, like that just doesn't come to mind, you know?

And so, both of you did.

Keith B. Parris

Think about the day they called in sick.

Yeah, man, I was watching.

People that were late.

You know, I mean or the people who went in for a shift and then left.

No, no who normally wouldn't come in for a shift.

Oh, yeah,

Keith B. Parris

you know, I mean

Mr.

Mr.

Keith B. Parris

Plane or

or somebody switch the

Keith B. Parris

dude of mr. Mr. Plane Mr. Plane he missed the plane and he was tripping

like yeah And

Keith B. Parris

he

missed the plane and it was it was the one lady that was supposed to be at work She was on her way to work, but I think she got a call

from her husband or something to come back to the house for something.

So yeah.

So I was, I didn't understand

Keith B. Parris

what was going on.

We looking like, what?

Attack, what?

And so then they changed, I mean, our whole school day changed.

And so then they changed the smart board.

We were literally on the lesson.

I can't even remember what our lesson was on, but they changed it.

We could watch TV on the smart board.

And so we were watching the Today Show, Matt Lauer, Katie Curd.

And we were just watching all of that.

And I could just remember as a kid,

being scared to go outside and scared to you know Be around Arab or I think there was I wasn't necessarily afraid of Muslim people, but I was I was I was afraid of Arab people

Keith B. Parris

You didn't know who the enemy

right?

Keith B. Parris

You don't

know and because I was the kid and and you know Whatever we see and hear we soak it up like a sponge

Me and Kiefer just talking about historical things and I'm like man a Lot of the stuff that I've experienced are gonna be in the the history books that are gonna be taught

Keith B. Parris

But you know it's Like said it was it was surrealist it's I could tell you I was at home Because I was in morning kindergarten when

JFK was assassinated.

And I remember that weekend I was very upset because they didn't show any cartoons.

We had to set up and look at that coffin, right?

That's what we looked at.

Because TV was different back

then.

They used to tell me TV used to go off.

It did.

That's crazy

to

me.

TV used to, I think it was, what was it, two o'clock in the morning, one o'clock in the morning?

It

Keith B. Parris

could

be midnight.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah,

midnight.

And then they'll show that flag.

Keith B. Parris

Then you get the test

pattern.

Yep.

And then either that or it'll go

just from that perspective.

So, everyone, we were talking about the pandemic.

We've never seen the world shut down.

But then if we just think about today,

Well, we saw the nation shut down.

We just didn't

Keith B. Parris

think about it that way.

And, you know, it was, you know, when we, and I know we're in what we're in right now.

But there were condolences coming from all over the world.

We

Keith B. Parris

got condolences from Iran on that day.

Now, I

think, no,

Keith B. Parris

no, we found out later was the Saudis.

It was the Saudis and and that was but because of our oil

relationship

Keith B. Parris

with them And again, they said the only planes other than military planes that flew on September the 12th Were the planes to fly to bin Laden family out of America,

right?

Yeah after they grounded everything

Keith B. Parris

and I can remember going down the 12th and believe and That's a flight path.

You can see planes coming in land at Mitchell.

Yeah, nothing in the sky

No, no, because I remember being a kid.

I finally got home and at the bottom of the news, it was just saying the airport closed this mall closed this city

closed.

I

mean, everything was closed.

And I was like, dang, y'all could close the mall.

You

know, because again, I'm a

kid.

So I'm like,

no, no, they shut down everything.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah, and I think, you know, it, it, it's now the, and it hit me when I saw the reopening, the garage and the hi-hat.

I remember that Friday, because we were, you know, you just wanted to be with people,

you

Keith B. Parris

know,

on

Keith B. Parris

a social, so I remember going to fish fry, me and my buddy went to the hi-hat, just so, you know, you could

You

Keith B. Parris

didn't know.

And that was now when we do the post mortem, we begin to realize that there were some things that led up to it.

And

you know that one more thing that just stuck out to me was the recovery and the cleanup.

And they would show, you know, a month later.

You know, two months later and that stuff was still there for a long time.

Mind you, they were working 24 hours and I was like, man, when are they ever going to clean this up?

And then they they had a big ceremony for when the like the last big stuff.

Keith B. Parris

And I was telling you all, I remember my co-worker, Mike Barber had gone out to New York in, I want to say, November, December of that year.

And he talked about because a lot of the.

Rubber was still

there.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah, and then me and Rhonda went to New York that spring and The size of that hole you just You cuz you don't unless you saw the World Trade Center You

don't

Keith B. Parris

realize how big

those

Keith B. Parris

buildings were the size of that hole was like oh my god This this the the scale and the magnitude of that and let me say this about the lot

Most people don't know he was a trained engineer and so he understood this whole thing and they talked about like if you go to the military academies they're usually engineering is the one thing that they're studying there because of war right you know what you need to do but it was one of those things where for a moment David won

Keith B. Parris

Talked about people who for whatever reasons called in sick that day

I only think I would say about random is it wasn't a coincidence that them people took out that long that uh, that life that that insurance policy it wasn't that that wasn't that wasn't a coincidence, so

Keith B. Parris

Howard Lucknick who is he's over commerce?

I forgot he was over cat and Fitzgerald cat and Fitzgerald lost 600 plus people That plane hit their floor

It was and because I'm somewhat of a student of history always going sometimes the facts are not what we want them to be but sometimes things just are what they are and That's hard because like I said human beings like my wife always reminds me.

She said, you know, you always say black people just don't die There's always a story, you know around now now what happened with DJ was you know, so

But sometimes it really isn't and I can't explain it.

I I've tried to explain it.

We can explain it because it's

been told to us.

But like you

Keith B. Parris

said, I don't know.

I don't I can't explain why my life has been the way it's been.

The things that have I experienced in my life where it wasn't planned, right?

You know, you you you you

you could you can explain it now.

Maybe you couldn't explain it when it was going on.

But.

As time passes, things become very clear.

You know, you got the squint to see it

Keith B. Parris

as

time moves on.

Keith B. Parris

All right.

All right.

So I wanted to do that.

I didn't want this day to go by.

Let me say something, folks.

And I was just listening to the names that they were reading.

A lot of black and Hispanic folks lost their lives on that

day.

Yeah, it was

Keith B. Parris

New York.

Uh,

I'm also going to uh a memorial service at funeral tomorrow uh mama Joyce um her her services are them are tomorrow so uh it

says

um uh signature service

oh

capital mm-hmm signature service yep uh 40 65 north 35th street yep so her services will be tomorrow

Uh, it says it says social gathering at teen and then the services at 11

Keith B. Parris

Sister pal From 10 to 11 the visitation and then the service at 11 Yeah, I you know We should really appreciate living.

Oh, yeah

You know, I mean that that that we can sit up and complain about it thing.

But then when you kind of sit up and think of you still breathing.

And so thank God for that.

So anyway, I wanted to so just to explain why I'm sitting here looking like a Mr. Gaitman.

But you always look like that.

So they pretty much get after

Keith B. Parris

eight years.

They

know.

Oh, keep that.

You know, I mean, he been like this for eight

Keith B. Parris

years.

Mr. Gaiman on the monsters.

Oh, man, it's some of the deaf jokes.

Well, you know, you're

not supposed to

Keith B. Parris

laugh, but you go like, that was pretty clever.

That was pretty clever.

All right.

Gator Nation.

So Gator Nation.

We endured last week, but.

I got some for today, and it's only it's only two was really three.

But we just stick with the two, you know.

We could go to the three.

My first

one

is home fans booing the home team.

You stink it up the

joint.

You stink it up the joint.

Keith B. Parris

You play it like garbage.

And I want to let you know, I am not pleased with how you play it.

What are you going to do?

Sit on my note?

Hey, guys.

Oh, no,

no.

I'm just not hitting today

Keith B. Parris

And I'm letting you know you have the bad day Just in case you didn't know you have the bad day.

I'm

letting

Keith B. Parris

you know I don't have a problem with it.

I think it should be done.

No, no I think it should be done more.

I'll be honest with now

Now if we had a kid's basketball game, we had a

youth

Keith B. Parris

game.

Oh man, you suck.

I

don't like that.

I'm trying to lie to the youth

league.

Do you ball in

Keith B. Parris

high school and play

it also?

No, man.

Keith B. Parris

I don't like that.

I do.

I think I think is what I'm going.

Hey, how come that dude that the Brewers put in the game

that

Keith B. Parris

they had to sit back?

Oh,

he should have been they should have booed him

Keith B. Parris

out the joint.

Sorry, man.

He was tripping.

Keith B. Parris

He always lost us that game.

Sure did.

And I was going like a eight one because they tell you with the Brewers and they go up two runs with that bullpen is they

hard to usually if the Brewers get about four runs.

You you think that you know, they are really good.

I'm gonna say two or more because like I said, the bullpen is so good, but this dude man, it was seven.

I'm not it was

eight

one

at one

point.

It was eight to two.

And then he but

Keith B. Parris

he loaded the bases man.

I'm going like because you know what?

I can go with we have direct TV now.

So you're going to get the highlights,

right?

Keith B. Parris

I agree.

Do not

Keith B. Parris

do that.

I agree.

Do the home team.

No.

We just draw the line.

Not the little kids though.

Don't boo.

Don't

boo.

Not this second point.

This second point really grinds my gears because, you know, it's be about priorities with our people.

OK.

You know, and I'm say society when I say our people.

OK.

These athletes and entertainers that got these podcasts.

that can't read their commercials.

It's annoying me, man.

These these people that cannot read mind you, we've done commercials before.

So even if you can't read, they could split it up.

No, they could chop it up to make it to where you read it straight through, even though you should be bad at the editors.

No, I'm mad at them.

You know what I'm saying?

Because you can put all this value into getting money.

But you can't read.

They can read.

They can't

read.

You

you you listen into a man.

Are

Keith B. Parris

you here in the word?

Are you here in the words?

Are they reading something?

They started.

Keith B. Parris

OK, but that's

the same as that on me because you started.

You can't read.

No.

They can't finish the sentence.

And like I said, what when you doing commercials or whatever,

Take one, take two, it's like acting, you know?

You get however many takes to get it right.

Ask Dibo.

Keith B. Parris

Dibo, no, he didn't do it with all of us.

That's what I'm saying to ask him, because some of us, nine takes,

twelve takes.

I'm cool with that.

I'm cool with that.

But once you put it out to the people, you got to have it right, man.

Keith B. Parris

Caller,

I

Keith B. Parris

see.

Call us see you gonna take a quick break.

It will be right back

All

Keith B. Parris

right, welcome back.

And then I was looking where if you really wanted to do the job, you would have to jump off the roof.

or the bill than if you really was trying to take your life.

Well, okay.

Well, what we're getting at is that the person we tried to commit suicide was just a clapper help and we shouldn't put it on mental health.

Keith B. Parris

No, they were trying to figure out who you were talking about.

You're talking about the lady in Massachusetts.

Because another lady tried to do it, but she fell as well.

Keith B. Parris

Well, she's paralyzed.

She's paralyzed.

Yeah, but she fell and killed herself though, but she did good, but she didn't kill herself.

Keith B. Parris

Do you know Dr. King did the same thing when he was a kid?

There was something that happened with his aunt.

Something happened.

He felt real guilty about it and he jumped out a window.

Yeah, I'm gonna tell you.

Yeah, I'm

sorry that

Keith B. Parris

happened,

but if I knew that you ain't giving me no guidance.

Um, but when I was looking at this right here, um, I was looking at the fact that this person had three kids.

I'm not trying to be funny.

I'm just saying if you try to kill my, if you try to kill yourself, how are you trying to guide

Keith B. Parris

me?

What wouldn't, and I don't know how true this is.

The rationale.

from an irrational mind was that if um it was something to she wanted to commit suicide but she wanted to be with her kids so that's why she decided to kill her kids that that that's

about

Keith B. Parris

that i know i'm just saying it's a rationale from an irrational mind but it

you want to be with your kids,

but you don't care.

Well, if you want to be with your kids, why kill your kids and not kill yourself?

Keith B. Parris

And that's what I'm saying

that it is.

So, and I'm glad we, you know, bringing this up now because now we know it's not mental health.

Well, yeah,

Keith B. Parris

it is mental health.

No, because when a black woman do it, she's automatically guilty.

And you don't get that it's a mental health.

But now she

Keith B. Parris

doesn't have the lawyers.

she doesn't have the lawyers this woman had this woman had the best lawyer but it shouldn't matter about the

lawyers man that's crazy it does no what i said is that it shouldn't matter about the lawyers we know that it's better to be guilty and rich than innocent and poor we know that already just from the

justices

or what about just being guilty and white, you know, like the little fencing girls, like the one who were like, like they stared them people like they were trying to cook a good, you know, Tamahawk steak and then she bust down somebody from the church and they found her off the tricks up with the landlids, but they said that

Keith B. Parris

with mental health, that takes a lot.

You should laugh at that, but that girl got some problems because

she was

Keith B. Parris

in, she ended up with this transgender person when they caught her down in Illinois.

Keith B. Parris

But do

you feel, and I'm just asking all three of you, do you feel sometimes that's just a mental crutch?

Because sometimes they don't want to get off the pot.

Some people just sit there and say, oh, I got mental health.

But then when you call the ambulance,

They, they, they, they, they, they wise up real quick.

Hey, how you doing?

Well, cause you know, when they hear that ambulance coming, they know they're street jacking and white girls.

Okay.

I do think it's a one

size fits all.

Only reason why I say that sometimes I think they use that to keep black people label or to put them on code that because you know a lot of times when they go to them strengths a lot of them strengths are Jewish

I

Keith B. Parris

think we have far more people running around here the jails our prisons are filled with people no

don't

Keith B. Parris

deal with mental health because we don't want to put the money in the treatment

we

Keith B. Parris

just lock them up

You know, and so I think that like I said, it is a conversation that we have to have, you know, you know, I talked, you know, when I talked to Dr. Leah Knox, we talk a lot about this or, or, or Kweiku, you know, there are things there is neurological in some instances.

It is emotional in some instances, but that shows you the power of the brain, right?

But I think that we have gotten, you know, like there was a little boy.

who died tragically because these folks were Pentecostal people.

They believed he had a demon, so they get on him and they literally suffocate this kid to death.

Okay, well, I understand it, but what I don't understand is that we will lock our eyes up over mental health, but we'll let somebody who's Caucasian.

run to the truck stop and get her a good old truck stop system.

I

wouldn't say we, I would just say the justice system.

Yeah,

well the justice

system.

I just

don't want it to be to the point that we don't, we start labor than black people.

Yeah.

For them to have a good dose of Prozac.

That's all.

Have yourself a good day and have a shot of whatever you do.

Maybe start a little dope, but it is Friday.

Okay, bye-bye.

All right,

that

Keith B. Parris

might contribute.

You

listen to

community voice, we'll take a quick break and we'll be right back.

Keith B. Parris

When the commercial comes on, the time out, I can go here, I can go to, at the game, you just kind of have to, you sit

there.

I mean, it's, it's- Yo, your attention span is supposed to be way

Keith B. Parris

more expanded.

Man, I don't know, I don't get so programmed.

Carla, welcome to the program.

Good morning, you in there.

Hey, good morning.

Keith B. Parris

Good

morning.

I got a couple of comments.

One is, it's a back.

to Al's comments.

Are you aware in 2019 or 2018, there was a black woman in the state of Massachusetts in front of the same judge that did the exact same thing that this Lindsey woman did.

And she was prosecuted for a triple life sentence in front of the same judge.

No, I didn't know that.

But

it

doesn't surprise me.

But it wasn't the judge.

No, I know it wasn't the judge but see the thing to it is is that there wasn't any discussion about post-depression on on in the In the case so he was just

Keith B. Parris

when

he killed her three kids and she was prosecuted right away

Keith B. Parris

Okay, did she so did they get a reason why she killed three kids

same same same

Keith B. Parris

postpartum?

Yeah, same thing.

Keith B. Parris

Okay, and there was some real debate going back and forth about how long postpartum

Depression last and postpartum psychosis only a woman would know well and that that that's the whole thing and then that's what I learned because and the doctor's going your symptoms well a mother would know yes I'm I don't know but I bet you that black look that black woman probably didn't have the same legal representation this woman had

oh well you know that but see the court system is always it's always a double standards when it comes to black and white

In front of the in the courtroom.

Keith B. Parris

I would I would agree with that.

That's where the critical race theory is real and accurate So I agree with that, but then you have an example of OJ Simpson, right?

Okay, and

he was innocent he might

Keith B. Parris

have did it

I'm not.

I didn't want to believe it there, but you know, 30 years later, he might have did

it.

He not cutting, no.

Well, what do you, what they say, cut off somebody tongue or cut it, put it through the throat or that he, it was something meticulous that they said how their bodies was, was, uh, you know, unaligned.

Keith B. Parris

Why didn't he

do

it,

Keith B. Parris

Clark?

Why didn't he do it?

But see, this is, this is the deal with, with OJ.

He not doing

it.

First of all, it was impossible.

for one person to kill two people at the same time like they is here.

But the problem about OJ is he writes a book and talk about the murder.

If I did it.

Yeah, if I did

it.

Well, nobody's saying that OJ ain't a fool.

He already knew that he was a fool, but

Keith B. Parris

that don't mean that

he was guilty.

Keith B. Parris

How about the irony, though?

He gets convicted of stealing his own stuff.

Yeah, I steal my stuff, too.

Well, I'm saying, but he

Keith B. Parris

hit away with

murder.

Did he get convicted?

Did

he get convicted for stealing

his own stuff?

It's like what

Cat Williams said, man.

He should have been the last person across the street.

He should have been looking both ways.

He should.

He, you know, but he felt invisible.

He felt, and what we

Keith B. Parris

say, he found out real quickly.

He found out real quickly.

He went from, he went from OJ to Negan.

real

quickly.

Keith B. Parris

Because they wanted him out.

That's why he moved to Florida.

They wanted him out of Brentwood.

He can go into restaurants.

Those white folks, man, they turned their backs on OJ.

See, the problem with OJ is that 17, he was black and by the time he went to the NFL, he became white.

He hanging around the white

folks.

Oh, yeah, he OJ's the

most.

Stuff the white people do.

And all his black friends turned their back on him.

I mean all his white friends turned their back on him when he got a charge for their murder case.

Keith B. Parris

Keith B. Parris

No, I think he, uh,

okay.

It's a problem.

It's, it's, it's, it's two more comments and then

Keith B. Parris

I'm

gone.

Uh, check out.

Chris Cuomo and DL Hugh Billy on YouTube.

That was very good.

Okay.

Very good.

And the second one, if you haven't, you should see the oddity.

That's a great movie.

Okay.

I appreciate

you.

I appreciate y'all.

Chris Cuomo, ever since he isn't on CNN, I think his material has gotten a little bit better.

He could be himself.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah, and you know a little bit more freedom here leaving because of his support for his brother.

I Don't know Lose my job take care of my brother.

I don't know.

Well,

Keith B. Parris

he

didn't he lie That too.

Yeah, so that it wasn't just taking up for your brother.

He lied You lied too, but you know the lot whenever you lie about something you that's that's that's

that's your family for your fall

come

That's

Keith B. Parris

the other thing, you know, talking about remembering where you were.

When something happened, how many y'all remember where you were during the Bronco chase?

I

Keith B. Parris

was like

One and

Keith B. Parris

a

half.

I was at the crib and said go go

Keith B. Parris

That was and then the Knicks were playing when they play in the Pacers No, it was the

finals

Keith B. Parris

at the

finals.

So who's the Knicks against the Rockets?

Keith B. Parris

No,

Keith B. Parris

no.

So he played his last match.

He didn't make the cut.

OK, because he played on Friday.

And so that was his last I think is it wasn't the masters that would be the us over

happiness said that her postpartum lasted for 12 months so But

Keith B. Parris

she never

had those thoughts so like I said, it's not a one size fits all but only a mother and a woman could really answer those questions because I I don't I don't like people have explained postpartum and I Was I really can't understand it

Keith B. Parris

All right.

We talked about the brewers magic numbers five To clench well,

yeah, they swept they swept the cubbies.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah, but it got swept and I was talking when I was talking to Cecilia yesterday They also got swept by the reds who the brewers also

You worried about the wrong.

We're

Keith B. Parris

talking about the cup,

man.

You talking about old stuff.

That's so proud

of

those stuff, because they play the Reds tonight.

Yeah, and they go, are we on the winning streak, yes or no?

Yes.

That's all.

That's the only thing that matters.

What did you do on your last outing?

But the

problem.

Braves.

Because

when we went

to the,

yeah, he did.

When we went to Atlanta, we struggled.

But when Atlanta came here, we, we, uh, we told them up.

So we really need that home field.

Yeah, we really need that because now we did mess up the Dodgers and LA, but everybody know that the Dodgers, they come on,

you know,

middle, middle of September, late September

and

then in October, you know what I mean?

And so

is they about to clench their vision

to

11 games?

Yeah.

Well,

Keith B. Parris

They

they

are

Keith B. Parris

because the Padres winning streak right now.

Keith B. Parris

You think he's going to

do

what?

Get the Dodgers and a go.

If they're all the Braves, when they... I think when they come to that playoff, they know how they keep getting closer and closer every year.

Yeah.

So I think this year... I think they're going to learn from last year.

That's what I said.

Keith B. Parris

And I think they need to... They have to decide who that third starter is going to be.

Man, well, who's our second starter?

Played chess because Kyle Henderson, he been trippin' ever since he came.

Back from he

Keith B. Parris

pitched like he pitched well the other night,

though.

No.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah, he

did.

Or is his name Anderson then?

Keith B. Parris

No,

Anderson

Keith B. Parris

Anderson

is one of them when he started off the year really good.

And now do tripping where they they are actually thinking about potentially putting him in the bullpen.

Keith B. Parris

I

know who you I know who you talking about.

because uh He pitched after the maze.

That's what you talking about.

Keith B. Parris

He pitched the last game.

Yeah,

he he not the guy that I'm talking about.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah, I thought that was Because what his other was Gasser?

No His name I thought his name was Kyle Kyle something Okay,

Keith B. Parris

let's see before I get out of here brewers

Henderson

Kyle Harrison.

That's his name Harrison.

Yeah.

Harrison tripping lately.

Yeah.

I don't know what's going on.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah.

He uh he was he was doing really good and now he he can't do nothing and you was talking about Logan Henderson.

Keith B. Parris

Yep.

Yeah.

Keith B. Parris

So, I think he he they gotta get a

Make sure now good that bullpen is solid.

Everybody's healthy in the bullpen.

And that's how they get with the Cubs.

You know, they just say that we can get into the Cubs bullpen.

Because like I said, the bullpen

is terrible.

Yeah.

Keith B. Parris

And it's

just like, you know, all team sports is it really take a team effort.

You know, the haters could be doing a thing, even the starting pitching could be doing a thing.

But if that bullpen doing what they need to do to close that game.

you lose and that's what's happening with the Cubs.

Yeah,

Keith B. Parris

you go up eight one

and

Keith B. Parris

then you end up one and eight

six.

How many years that they had a good bullpen though the Cubs?

They always had a good bullpen.

I don't worry about them.

So I don't

know.

I think we just got a good

Keith B. Parris

a good bullpen this year.

We

Keith B. Parris

do.

We do.

I mean, it's real good bullpen.

It's that starting pitch

that you're a little

Keith B. Parris

worried about.

Yeah.

Keith B. Parris

Cuz Mizorowski, he probably won the side young but he's not getting wins.

He's telling off too.

He what?

Keith B. Parris

He telling

off.

Keith B. Parris

What are you talking

about?

He ain't as dominant as he once was earlier in the season.

Keith B. Parris

Well, because

Keith B. Parris

we've seen him.

Yeah.

Now he, you know, his last few ones, he been at six and seven.

I think he's saving himself for the playoffs.

Keith B. Parris

I don't think he's ever had the goal like he's pitching more innings.

It was one to one

going into the.

or as we called it yesterday, but key.

It was the community voice.

We're

going to take a quick break.

Oh man Where you where you been that right and everybody say I've been here

You know, I just don't go out right

that that that's true that too because uh, you know

depending on your work schedule.

And some people just don't go out regardless.

You know, maybe they passed that time.

But what you got planned for this weekend, Cart?

You know, I'm going to God for a day with D-Bo, host the show with him.

And then once I leave, I'm leaving out at four o'clock.

Alpine Valley.

Where does that?

That's like, you know what?

I think it's the north.

We're going west.

Man, I can't even

tell you.

It's my first time going.

So I'm looking forward to it, man.

four one four four four four five two five zero phone lines are open four one four four four four five two five five zero caller thank you for your patience you're in there.

How

y'all doing today?

All right you.

So I was laughing really hard last night we all know how Al calls in it gets real extreme right.

with his conversation, especially about the Republicans.

So I'm watching Jimmy Kimball last night, and he started talking about this thing called Grindr.

So I'm like, what the hell is he talking about?

So I Google Grindr, right?

Do you know what it, do you know what it is?

Yeah,

no, it's the

Grindr

is a

gay site, and that was actually broke on the internet when the Republicans came here to Wisconsin.

That they were saying that the Democrats is turning is trying to turn America gay and all of this stuff right here that they was running on the LGBTQ And knowing that they are a part of this a part of that community So you you hiding to what you really are because when the conventions come We see who you really are because don't

you think that that would change the game?

a openly gay Republican.

Do you think that

would change again?

Of course it would, because of this whole thing of what they're doing with the army, they don't want any transgender, they don't want none of this, but these same people that's talking against it, it's a part of it.

Right.

Exactly, because I had no idea what he was talking about last night, so I googled, so I said, let me google this.

And when I started reading it, and then they show, like, right outside when they showed the places that they had at conventions, that they,

so desperate that I mean that they're breaking this I mean overloading the site and I said wait I said I I said I gotta call in tomorrow and let them know because I was I was growling like because you know I could get a little extreme sometimes you know it's I don't have good points but I just don't like sometimes when you get so extreme you know but I but I was glad for last night because I was like dang all right I had no clue what this was yeah

yeah and you see

That just speaks.

I mean, I'm not a big fan of politics, but that just speaks to the hypocrisy and politics because

you know

Y'all are blowing up this site and you know what you say you uh What they do with the internet they

broke

they break

in the internet

But then they are going to denigrate these people who could be they voters

Exactly, you know, so you're doing

this

behind closed doors.

And the Democrats might be just as guilty, too, with their names in there.

Oh, yeah.

Oh, yeah.

Nobody.

Nobody is exempt.

They don't want those names to come out.

So they rather kill people and all that kind of stuff.

And we were talking the other day, and I'm going to say this, and I'm going to get off because they talking about how we're bombing their country and stuff.

How will we feel if they killed what was 100 and something of their children?

All right, so

Pretty good.

Uh, we try to break it down for you.

Have you ever hated a fusion system of water that's popularly

and not for review?

You sound like you like real close to the phone or something.

So

I

can't understand.

Is this better?

Is this better?

Yes.

Oh good.

Yeah, I was holding this one of those track bones the way I hold it.

Yeah

This is the libertarian Republican way.

It's real.

That's why I'm a fucking look up fusion William F. Buckley And it's the basic this is there's a fight within the reporting party But

isn't there

an issue

when it becomes Really just like a full-on attack

on people and just their lifestyle?

Can you repeat the beginning of your sentence because I'm kind of

confused?

I say, but isn't there an issue when it just becomes a full along attack on a certain person's lifestyle just because it seems to be different, but then, you know, when you start to uncover that onion peel, you know, it ain't really different because I

mean, if we just gonna

be real,

There there are gay people in in every religion.

There's going to be gay people in every political party is going to be gay.

I mean, it's that's just a humanistic trait

Exactly, exactly.

So you can have different neighborhoods and that's the libertarian way and that's wrong with the Republican Party.

But there's also people say, no, we can't have libertarians in the Republican Party.

Am I making sense?

Yeah.

I mean, I mean, from what it

sounds like, you're just saying like it's just two different factions within

the

Republican Party.

Democrat party gotta watch out for what?

Communist!

That's what's taking over the party!

No, I know it ain't.

I

can't agree with you with that.

It

kind of is not taking over.

I'm gonna seize the means of production.

What is seizing the means of

production?

You talking about

socialism?

I mean, we all,

we all

benefit from, from socialism.

And so we can't,

we can't just say he's going to seize for me as a product.

We can't, we can't just

label

socialism

and

communism

as the same.

I don't know if he said that, but,

but the issue is

that whenever

we talk

about

socialism, John,

whenever we talk

about socialism, whenever we talk about socialism,

Communism always comes up and we can't just always do that.

You know one I Said this a million times already We as a kid as a society as a world benefit from socialism All right, we benefit from public roads public schools the police department the fire department all of these public Works and fields and entities we benefit from we can't just all of a sudden

Good Lord, willing to creak, don't rise.

Keith will be back with you all on Monday.

And as always, let's go from this place in peace.
