Community Voice · Tue Sep 1, 2026

Good morning. Welcome to Community Voice. I'm your host, Keith Parris. I want to thank everybody for joining us this morning. Good morning, Clark Kent. How are you? Hey, what's up, man? Hey, hey, hey. What's up, Jermaine? Right now, how are you, Apostle? Well, this up. Check it out. Check in. Check in. Check in, everybody. Check in. All lines open. 414-444-5250. 414-444-45250. I was asking my colleague for some assistance this morning.

and I refer to her as Peaches. So phone lines open. Give me one of those great little names. Really? Delicious. Yeah. Do you like you like delicious? Delicious. What about what about putting? Yeah, putting is good. Put putting. Yeah, I don't know nobody names put. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do

her name. Well, I mean, all through school that we called her Putin and we never knew her. I gotta take this. I didn't even know her real name was Yolanda for years because it was always putting. Wow. Yeah. So, can y'all think of some nicknames out there? Uh you know, uh let's see.

We'll be another one. Peaches? Yeah, well, yeah, peaches. Uh, baby? Judy? Which one? Rudy. What is who? Rudy. Rudy. Rudy. Well, you know, I'm, you know me. I can't, I can't get my beans right.

Say that again! Say that again! Say that again!

Let's see, let's see. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape. Say it on tape.

I was I was doing tribute to my to my sister-in-law and I pointed out told the story and I said Rhonda people

No, Rhonda, they all know squeaky, but they don't know Rhonda, right? So and then her and then her her theme song came on like candy My candy yeah, let's see. That's the word. That's the name. Bear. I mean, I got it. I got a friend down south to his his uncle nickname is Bear. Okay.

and that's because he like six nine he like six nine big swole cat man. When I was in uh when I was I went down I was Chicago I went to the Cotton Club for the open mic and the dude who was doing it his name was Gemini. Oh yeah because it was two of them that's how big that was. He was a big boy. Let's see Lil Man. Yeah Lil Man. Lil Man.

But a little little anybody a little anybody Dave that for somebody You know like who I saw one of My niece Adriana's brothers and for years. He's a little Robert He said now now they called me Robert Earl, but he's a little Robert My daddy had like three names Hank

Cotton and Uncle Boom or Boom. They from the South? Yeah. This guy used to play, he lived in that neighborhood, Boney. Boney. Yeah, Boney. God, there was some names out there that, you know, and for years you never knew their government name. Right. Right. All you knew was what that, and my mom didn't let us do nicknames. Uh, with no shortening. I named you this.

That's what people call you which frustrates me with key PD because I Remember watching the wire. Yeah, and they're sitting in there planning something and dudes over there taking notes and Stringer looked at him He said what you doing? He's I'm taking notes. He said man, you don't take notes

who we do to keep criminal conspiracy, you know, put it in writing. Don't write a town. You know, it's like, what was it? Bad bosses, when they put the plan on the board with, you know, but they thought it was a erasable ink and it wasn't permanent ink. Boy, some folks can't do wrong, right? But the thing with this whole key PD situation. And I, I tell these cats all the time, because we actually had this conversation on the podcast, whatever that we just did a few months ago.

was talking about how people want attention and fame so bad that they would pretty much sell their souls. So you got a situation like this. Not when there's a crime involved. That part. So when you know that something happened and going on Vlad TV for people that don't know Vlad TV is really the police, he's the fed with a microphone. So he could all of these people that come on his show

and talk but they always end up in legal trouble because again, you tell on yourself. Talk too much. But it's the platform that he create and the police use this platform for every single rapper that has went down. What? What? What? What? What a pretty Tony Fauci. One, two, three, four. Yeah. I ain't talking. I'm not. Listen to guns, lawyer.

Every time they ask this little question, lawyer. Yeah, I don't I don't know anything because if you say you know, especially for something that don't go away like homicide, homicides, there's no statute of limitation on. Right. So it's forever. Right. So you can be 90 years old, change your life, a preacher, and then caught the Holy Ghost. By Radeela Beckwith, would it get him 30 years after he killed man Evans? Yeah. Yeah. So I mean,

Just stop talking. So that's why stop talking is certain things. I won't say on the air because they're on the air in the air. In the air. Not just on the air. Period. Were you at such and such? No. Why don't I take pictures? Because I wasn't there. Listen. I wasn't there. Cardi B said it so clearly. No face. No case. Yeah. So if you have a situation like that,

You can't put yourself in a situation that won everybody that was a part of the crime is now Standing before God and weigh no nate judgment. Well, I'll deal with that one. I would rather take that I think I got a different shot then be the dude to sit up here now Like like like he is shocked. I can't believe I'm here. You hear cuz not only were you talking you wrote it down and

They found them guilty yesterday. What got Nixon? The tapes. What got the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Joe Smith thing with this whole contract thing and that they're looking at Gary Tritt about? They wrote it down. They wrote it down and the NBA came in and investigated and found that these guys was cheating and stuffing money with this whole Joe Smith situation. That's how they lost their pigs. Well, you know, if you

Now I know they've they've had this very pejorative thing if you want to hide it from black folks put it in the book Okay, okay Yeah, well if you're trying to hide it from the police Take don't put it in the book Take it to your grave man. Some things you need to take to your grave man. I mean just Just talking man, and I'll be going like man. They said what about that? What about it man? Listen if you have asked God for forgiveness

The Bible tells me he throws it into a sea of forgive for this So why would I want to remember that and carry that with life when I'm asked for forgiveness now? So you would have to pay because again You would never get away with it. You might get by for a season But I mean but you're gonna pay for it some way somehow But I'm not gonna tell these people that's able to take my life away But 30 40 years or something that I did when I wasn't thinking in my 20s because I'm not the same

The first thing that I was when I was 20, I don't know if Puff tried to come on. No, no, no, no, no. It actually came out. No, no, no. No, it actually came up. It actually, no, listen. I believe it came out in the trial. I know you do. It came out in a conspiracy. No, but this ain't. Listen, man, I've been hearing about this for years and now I'm at all of the paper trail. People put all kinds of stuff on it. I know, but when the paper trail come out and you can't deny the receipts. So when the receipts hit and you see

that, okay, he did go to Walmart and get such and such and such. You can't fight that because you got the receipts. Another reason why I don't go to Walmart. Among the movie pieces, why I don't go to Walmart. I would be, yeah, Keith was in Walmart. He killed Biggie. He was the Walmart. I killed Biggie. Come on, man. Try to make it make sense.

That's it, hey. Boy, you know, human beings are conspiracies. Human beings, man, it just amazes me when people come up with what they come up with, but it'd be like, yeah, okay, see, what happened with Jermaine was, and then you'd be going like, what? Yeah, yeah. And then, you know, so here's this axiom. Those that talk don't know. Those that know don't talk. That's how I supposed to be.

That's real talk, you know. So, you know, keep on, keep on talking. And the mafia was immortal. Immortal. So, Jovalachi just blew all that up. But I'm just saying now, you know, people snitch, they just. And then, and then you got these people that's, that's calling these other guys that come in and testify snitches and y'all are telling, but you got people that's getting on.

Facebook, you getting on these shows, you getting on Instagram, and you talking, you showing proof of the money, you showing all this other stuff so didn't know when the people's come holler at you. Now it's the, oh well, such a, such a snitch, and no- No, no, no, no. How'd you find out? Right, that was the question. How'd you find out? I don't know. Facebook? Right, that part. And you told it to Facebook. You know what, man? I don't, I learned. I tell people,

Facebook, my Facebook friends, I have an eclectic, very vast, diverse group of people that is part of my little Facebook friend tree. And because of that, I'm very mindful of what I put out there. Now some people, oh man, it's the truth. Everything that comes up don't have to come out. And you just sit up here putting your truth out there. And then later on in life, it's like, how do they find all these pictures?

You know like they got pictures. I was telling me and my buddy we were talking yesterday So it's amazing man. I commit a crime. There's a picture me and Jermaine There's a picture me and Jeffrey Epstein, you know, it's like well these pictures come from so I don't I try not to get in the pictures as much as I can and maybe that's that paranoia from the 60s and 70s but man if any indication some of these pictures that you see a folks out there because You know and then the press will buy pictures

right. They'll buy pictures. Yeah. Isn't that how Peter Parker? Yeah. Isn't that what he did? Yeah, he took him and sold the pictures. Yeah. Yeah. Everybody know who Peter Parker is. Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Spider-Man. He's your neighborhood. So, uh, with this, I'm gonna ask them. So, when when that incident with sugar easy, do you think that he really inject the easy with the eight?

No, no, there was rumors about EZ's private life that was circulated. But his wife didn't get it, though. Well, because Magic Johnson's wife didn't get it. Magic got her. She was pregnant, so. Magic got her. No, man. Yeah, she was pregnant. So wait, so, okay. Now, I do understand that the whole, you know, that whole conspiracy look at that because

Even with Bob Marley with the movie that it just came, it came out in the movie, but I've been hearing this over years how they put that in his shoe that was given to him. They gave him some conversions or something. He stepped in his shoe. When he stepped on that shoe, that was how he was infected with the cancer that he got. And that informant came out and said that before he died.

Don't know man easy. I mean, you know, that was there cuz it was like all the everybody that was around him, you know I'm saying, uh, then didn't get it. Yeah, so, you know, they always doing from what I they were always doing the same women anyway, so they was knocking them down. Yeah, so I'm just saying, you know conspiracy with X There's something going on. I don't know man. I mean, but one thing I do know for sure something happened

Something happy because whenever there's money involved and they say something happened. Yeah, the person died Yeah, but how and why? Because again, um taking over it would take over remember you try to take over it. Yeah, there's a new company. So it's a good, uh, pox mama finally get his masters. Oh, she's still fighting. She died. Yeah, she passed away. So the sister Well, that's what I'm saying like

It's true Biggie put out a song man that sticks to me to this day, man No, the song says you're nobody until somebody kills you and Which is true because in life you can have this status, but once you're gone Tupac has made more money in his death than he did a lot. So that's

Saying that you was nothing pretty much When he was a lie But soon as that bullet you caught that bullet your sales went up merchandise went up and what you was worth You're worth more in the grave than you are walking amongst us Which is crazy So I'm gonna be bigger In death well, I mean

look at all of the and and I'm gonna say this how many times I'm just gonna use this as an as an example because it's personal and it's real when Keon Jackson was here all of the accolades that we give him now in depth how many times have people gave him the accolades that he can hear them and actually embrace it see you know I'm saying so all of the accolades came that people saying he was again he wasn't

a great guy, a great dude. Like, I locked in with Keon. That was my dog. And we locked in and we talked a lot outside of the station. But all of the accolades that he get now and all of the love he received now, how many people gave him that love while he was alive to embrace it and hold on to it? I think he got it. I think the fact that we are

Still talking about him and we reference him means that he did have impact and he's bigger and I know we want to wait until People die and and then we try to call all up in the casket with him, but yeah Yeah, I think you know Yeah, and you know I did I did a sermon and It was entitled bigger than death than in life

And I used Tupac, I used Michael Jackson Elvis. But I said, you know, and this is, you know, from a theological perspective that Jesus was bigger in death than he was in life. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, that, you know, in terms of impact and influence and the whole thing. So, you know, you don't have to die.

in order to, you didn't have to die in order to make impact now. And that's how we live. Rhonda's reading the book, and I think it's, I think the title of the book, and she's listening, she'll text me. I think it's something about God knows, when I found out God knew I was black.

And so, Ron, if you can, just send me the title of that. Let me look. And it was fascinating to hear her because the author is challenging some of the conventions that we have, like the role of women in scripture, how Christianity was used to

or is being used to prop up capitalism and, let's see here, I'm proud of myself. Okay. Oh, let me shout out. My favorite niece is here, Amaris, her son. Thank you. Yeah, Rhonda, so if you can, I don't know if you're able to send me the title of the book and we were having this conversation. Now it's kind of where I've always been.

not always, but where I am now in terms of how I look at, there's a term there, theoxicity, which is trying to, there's these questions people have, like one of the questions is, if God is good all the time, then why is there suffering? That, you know, why do some people suffer, other people don't? You know, is God,

basically capricious and arbitrary. God being an image of a male. These are conventions that, you know,

Human beings have shaped and formed religion for it for good. I think that there's a good that religion serves But I think when you look at the impact that it has so I'm watching the documentary say if you look on the back of a cover of McEvelly. Oh, here we go with McEvelly Well, thank you Tupac at least young people gather sense of who McEvelly was if you study political science you study McEvelly. I mean it is

one of those people that's like between him and Aristotle and Plato, you know, part of the foundation of Western thought and Western enlightenment, these people. But it was good because there was a whole lot of people who, you know, young dudes was coming up, talking about, yeah, man, like McEvelly. You know about McEvelly. Well, Tupac talked about it. Well, good. So if Tupac got you, you know, talking about it, understanding.

Machiavelli and Machiavelli talks about the power behind the throne, right? It's not the people that you necessarily see. It's what Keon, here another Keon reference, what Keon would talk about Chippeto, you know, and that it was really who's the Chippeto? Keon's theory was that Donald Trump was a puppet. We're just trying to figure out who Chippeto was in terms of, and if you ever know, Chippeto was the one who created

Pinocchio, right? Am I right? Am I got my okay? Yeah, and so but it is there I don't know man You know, we started talking about conspiracy just like voting has consequence consequences can't send has consequences. It's not God. It's man. I Disagree George And then he says Jesus isn't dead he's what our father

Well, I'm a Baptist. Every Sunday, Jesus dies. But every Sunday. But then after service. No, no, no. Every Sunday. In a lot of Baptist churches, Jesus died. Yeah, because they show take him to the cross and put. Oh, yeah, we go into the cross. So and I said that that's the only that's one of the few exceptions. There's one of the few rules that don't have exception.

Uh, it is death We live in a temporal world. We live in a finite world. What does that mean that everything? Uh question, what do you disagree with? I disagree Jesus Jesus died. I mean now you can you ain't walking around here. He's not in human form. He died. No, no, no, no, no, no. Wait, wait, wait, hold on. He did. I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah spirit

but he was resurrected in spirit. So yeah. Right. But even after resurrection, he didn't hang around. He only hung around for 40 days. Am I? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, he only he only hung around in 40 days in a flesh form. But then exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that's what we're talking about. Human beings dying. Yeah. Well, yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So I do see, you know, okay. There's no controversy there. Look, you know what, man? You need to invite me to your preacher square, man. I need to be on that.

The name of the book is The Day God Saw Me as Black by D. Danielle Thomas. Oh, look, Kennedy, her first day at school. Well, I wonder, man, because, you know, God saw me as black a long time ago when he realized I was late to service. Man, I had to be late on the town. That's when he saw you as black. Yeah, he knew. Oh, he black. He was late.

No, I'm not saying all black people are late, but this one, I am saying some black people are late. Now you can quantify it and figure out what percentage that is. I don't know what it is about good place to see peace out and start no time. Some people more, ooh, that's why a whole lot of people been starting to ground railroad. You know, it's coming through and you getting your hair dead. Call one.

Good morning, my brother. On what part do you disagree with me or not? On the sin and voting, what part do you disagree? I don't think the suffering is because some suffering is caused by by man's sin to other people. But the idea, what what what did the the kid who started in Africa, what what what sin did that person commit? So that could be

generation. Sin of sin is contagious. Sin of the fathers though. So you tell me that a kid died of hunger is sinning? Sin of your father. So what about the kid that walks out in the street? What about the kid that dies from cancer? Right. We lived in a perfect world with the Adam and Eve sin and ever since sin has been incorporated into this world. Yeah. There's no innocent people.

You know, we like to think that babies are innocent, but if we're born into inequities, kids, babies are innocent. Yeah, these babies are innocent. We say that babies are innocent, but God's you. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

everything that we do in life is a learned behavior. Every single thing we do. And so you don't agree where we are born in? Yes, wait, wait, hold on, hold on. I mean, wait, wait, hold on, hold on. I don't agree. Scripture says we are born into sin shaped in iniquity. So that means the shaping of iniquity means of that's learned behavior.

That's what you learn is shaping you. So yes, we are born into sin That is true, but the shaping is what you become That's not that's look it up. I know what it is. It sounds 51 that is David reacting to the situation he had with Bathsheba and the baby dying and his lament because of what no no wait a minute hold on it is not and this is one of the I think it's a fallacy

is that somehow, because we talk about the fall of man, right? That's the story of Adam and Eve, the fall of man. Babies are born a blank check and we feed into babies. But the point I'm making is that if I'm in the Congo and I'm starving or if a kid contracts leukemia, the question that the author is asking is how could a good God

either allow this suffering and I think that that is where and it's a profound question in terms of it's our view of God and so we use terms a lot of times and I don't know if we're always mindful of the term so we say God is good and all the time God is God is good all the time all the time God is good that's great poetry but the reality is that if your mama got killed in a car accident by drunk

driver, you're not viewing God as good at that. God didn't do it. Listen to what I'm saying. I'm not saying that God did it or did not do it. Listen to, listen, you react and don't listen. I said that when you're going through that, your view of God is going to be very different because of your experience. But if you have a relationship with God. I know we're going to have pushback. Shame on me for saying that.

saying what? I mean, don't don't be don't be putting that in there. No, no, no, I'm saying it's no, it's a fair question. Hey, George, you said starving children in Congo. There is enough money. There is enough. There is enough money and resources in this whole world for there to be no starving people. I got that, George. But George, the question I asked is, hey, George, the question I asked is, what did that child do?

It's the cause that's suffering. The child didn't do anything. That's the point. Then that's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The child didn't do anything. That's it. The

That's why I effected the debate because of the sin of man because of the greed of man. There should be no homeless people in this world. There should be no hungry people in this world. None of that should stop the existence because it's the grief. We got trillionaires in this country now. Yeah. I can't afford to get my I want to get back to the government. I want to get back to the question.

because I think that this is what the author is asking. It is a question. There's probably no right or wrong answer to it, but it's a question. And that question is, for some people, if God is good all the time, why does God allow suffering? Now, there's some people believe

the Bible. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

And I truly believe this in my heart. I know this is a hard, this is a hard one. If we did what God told us to do, there probably wouldn't be. This is a difficult question. We keep turning away from God. Okay, that's what y'all want. Y'all want a king? Y'all going to have a king. Okay, but George, let me ask you another question, George. What did enslaved people do to justify the horrors of enslavement?

Thank you. So it was just it was like you go back to the argument all the time with me and you talk about that argument about about man I'm asking a question if you really give me all right let me let me be let me be more specific than what I'm asking you. I just want to say this keep because I know you love going to the argument with me but even in God's word slaves are not to be mistreated.

and after seven years. Did you hear the question that I asked you, George? You're going to be anywhere in the Bible where this place is supposed to be mistreated. George, the question I asked you, George, is to try and make everybody say wrong and keep us right. Well, yeah, of course. And you're doing the same thing, George. Exactly. OK, all right. Appreciate you, man. Yeah. But here's the question.

What did enslave people in Africa do? That they ended up being enslaved. I can kind of answer that kid. Okay, then you can answer that after the break because I know we've been running long. Oh, yeah, sure. Paula, I see you don't go anywhere. Y'all help me with that one. You're listening to Community Voice. We're gonna take a quick break and we'll be right back.

The work we're doing at Viola is absolutely bringing access to the water for people. To be able to have this job to help keep our rivers clean and our lake clean is the greatest thing I could ask to be doing for my time. It feels good. You're accomplishing something that is truly helping everybody in the community I was born and raised in. Water is our greatest resource. We all need it to survive. Viola is 100% doing great work.

I'm Jim Pleistad. I'm the executive director of the Historic Third Ward Association and also a resident of the Historic Third Ward. Somebody's got to manage this, right, and care for our waterways and care for the treatment of our waterways. We couldn't do it without MMSD and Veolia. They've just been a great partner as long as I've known them. It's just been an amazing recovery for this body of water. MMSD and Veolia have been a big part of getting that clean and enjoyable for all of us.

When we wanted to expand access for folks in need of bikes, we turned to Veolia. The result, the new Veolia EcoPass program that has dramatically increased access to our bike share system for folks all throughout our community. Connecting students to schools, people looking for work with employers, the community with parks. Thanks to our partnership with Veolia, Bubbler Bikes is serving more people than ever before. Those are Milwaukee values.

Your host, Keith Parris. Welcome back, caller. Thank you for your patience. Excuse me. Welcome to the program. Hi, Keith. Excuse me. Hi, Keith. This is Annette. Hey, Annette. How are you? Hi. I'm blessed. You sound good. Oh, I'm trying to be good. I'm trying to hear you, Nicky. OK. OK. You were talking about names earlier. Uh-huh.

And guess what my nickname is back home now? Don't you tell nobody? Okay, tell me cuz nobody's listening Okay, I'm gonna give you a hint. Okay, the color purple color purple color Sealy no color purple Who's the other one?

What's her name? Natty. Natty. Okay. Yeah. That would make sense. Natty? Natty, yeah. And you know what wasn't, uh, didn't Ray Dong Chong, Rhonda's listening, didn't she play squeaky? Wasn't that her name? Yeah. I was in the life game one. Yeah. That was, yeah. Ray Dong Chong. You know the guy from Cheech and Chong? His daughter. Yeah. Yeah. She was squeaky, right?

That would make sense. That would make sense.

You know back home they call me Ned, you hear they call me Ned. Okay, all right dear. But listen, I wanted to say something about what you guys are talking about. I'm gonna ask you the question. Most of the, I guess, Latino, Spanish, whatever, they wear their crowns. It's a crucifixion. So they have, it's a crucifixion.

And we have Jesus on the cross, right? And I heard me I would wear it too. I was wearing my cross one day and I had my crucifixion on it. He's like, what are you doing? And I said, that's it. He says, Jesus is not on the cross anymore. And he said, you're a Baptist. And I'm like, so? And he's like, you're knit. Jesus is not on the cross anymore.

You have me, you were a great, brilliant, you brought me a beautiful cross. And you say, you wear this. And I'm like, okay, but I, education is love. You know, but I had to learn this. And, can you kind of give me a little- What a history of that is, that was the divide.

I know there are certain Protestant traditions that do not have Jesus on the crucifix. Catholicism does. Now, the cross is just a symbol. And actually, the cross is not even really the original symbol of early Christians. It was the fish, right? So when you go and you'll see sometimes where you see the fish, it's a symbol. I caution people.

about, and I'm gonna use this word, and I know it's kind of a loaded word, but be careful of idolatry. And there are people out there who, like for example. Yeah, the Jimmy Swagger ministry, they have this whole thing about the cross. And I'm saying for me, the cross is a part of Jesus' existence.

It wasn't all of it now people say because of the cross and you know, you can and we got that redemption but what I'm saying is and it was something that Rhonda also pointed out that Dr. Thomas had pointed out in her book is that we spend more time talking about Jesus dying than we talked about when Jesus lived Okay, that and I'm just there's a lot that goes into that type of what they call beatific theology

A lot of it is for suffering people. They were told that even though you're suffering here on earth, you have a reward in heaven, right? And so we talk more about the afterlife. We talk more about salvation for a lot of people meant that they would have eternal life. That's a part of it. But what about the life that you live now, right? And so for me, I try to focus more on

what Jesus taught and how we're supposed to apply that to our lives right so that we can be better people because that's I think what Jesus was about because even then I mean there's things that came after the fact that wasn't the case during the during the time of Jesus like you know it's for some people and I'll say it again you need to listen don't react folks for some people the Trinity is problematic

Right we understand that so we can go back and forth about whether or not it's valid That in my mind is secondary to what did Jesus teach and then and then here's the crazy piece of this the things that we complain about I Eat people not getting along with each other people not treating each other You know well or treating each other right is what Jesus talked about so I think you know it depends on where you are

And and and and her questions is going beyond religion and that's difficult because we have been programmed to think and feel and believe a certain way George kept saying is what you believe But what I believe sometimes might not be based in fact And that's okay. That's that that's religion is really it is that what they call the ethos of religion Which is the ethics the behavioral the moral piece of it

Right? And then there's the other thing trying to understand God. Look, don't waste a whole lot of time on that because the vastness of the Creator is such that no one will ever understand. So, I mean, I feel real comfortable going out on that limb saying that it isn't. But I think that that becomes a debate whether or not it is. I remember this theologian and they asked him about Jesus and whether or not you should worship Jesus.

And his response was, which I thought was a very interesting response. His response was, I love God too much to worship Jesus. I follow Jesus. Yes. I think it's time to get into the book of James. James speaks a lot about some of the things that you have brought forth in this conversation. Right. Here's Jesus's brother.

And the thing about that was, as it is with a lot of folks, a lot of times it's your family who's very skeptical of your call. And that was the case with Jesus and his family. But then James really became one of the true defenders of the faith. And certainly talking a lot about love and how we get along with each other, things that Jesus talked about. So appreciate you, Derek. I got another caller. You're welcome. Caller. I need to do this.

Let's call it right out right outside the job. I know how to push these buttons now. Listen to a lot of things and first start off with George asking questions and in Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, you know, even though we disagree on a lot of things when it comes to

We kind of line up on the same thing. Ain't no kind of me and George kind of jam with the same even though Politically now we disagree. However, when it comes down to religion or Christianity It's a serious thing for me and I believe the serious thing for my man I don't know how serious it is for you. You got a book key that you're telling us

How did you worry that again about the book that you had that you presented to the audience? No, actually Rhonda was reading the book. We were discussing it and there was these questions that the author was asking and Before and I think the question that she was saying was over and beyond Religion, but you know basically of course she did it through the lens of Christianity because that was her orientation. I guess what what I'm when I'm

The question that the author was asking the readers she asked the question if God is good Then why does God if God is good all the time. Why does God allow suffering? Why who gives that particular author? The right to question and almighty Everlasting creating God

gives her the right to question that God. So was that a question or was that a statement? Because we had the right to question God. You know what that's the problem. We all got the right to go up to God and talk to God. I see old preachers in the pulpit howling at God. No reverence, no real fear of God no more. They just come in and give man.

God, if you look, even the Muslims, even though I disagree with them, you better not put that command on the floor. They're gonna go off, man. They do not believe we just throw our body on the back seat, let it hit the floor, whatever. They treat that old book, that old command, like some kind of system. So you're saying that we should not question? No, what gives us the right to question God? After it's written, it's already been written. See, the danger in this stuff is that we go out, Keith.

seeking the truth, okay? And by seeking the truth, we pick up all these books. You know, they got a queer Bible, man. They got a gay Bible. Have you heard of Geno Geno and said it on fire? Listen, man, that Bible would make you, if you read that Bible, that Bible would make you believe that it was a whole lot of that kind of lifestyle going on because they have descriptions. You can pick the book up just to reach the book. Psalms, Psalms 22 and 1. My God, my God.

Why have thou forsaken me? Is that a question? Okay, was that a question? Hold on, hold on, hold on, that question. See that question when it comes down to theology, people like to say Jesus looked up into heaven and he was being crucified and his flesh cried out, my God, my God, why is that forsaking me? Excuse me, forsaking me. Listen. In the garden of the assembly, the Jesus, the Jesus.

In the garden of Gethsemane, the Jesus is going too fast, man. We gotta address him. No, no, no, no. I'm not going too fast. If in the garden of Gethsemane, did Jesus question God? You see me? Okay, so then. He didn't question God. He didn't question God. He petitioned God. Can this cup pass for me? He petitioned God. He come to God and asked God. You know, did he have to drink or just did a cup? You know what I'm saying? Is that a question?

It was a question though. It was a question, but it was with a petition because he didn't want to go. That's real funny to you. I'm glad you laugh. I'm glad you find humor. That we questioned God and I don't know if God gets offended that we questioned her.

Okay, then we talked about slavery. You're gonna have to hold on, man. I'm on the break. Can you hold on to half of the break?

A. U. R. N. News. President Trump is calling for a federal action against a journalist over one sentence about his political record. NBC's Meet the Press moderator Kristen Welker was discussing Trump's endorsement in Republican primaries when she said the president has had some mixed results when it comes to his endorsements. This is a true statement, but that prompted Trump to say Welker should be reported to the FCC for rebuke or punishment. He called her statement a purposeful inaccuracy and urged FCC Chairman Brendan

The work we're doing at VLA is absolutely bringing access to the water for people. To be able to have this job to help keep our rivers clean and our lake clean is the greatest thing I could ask to be doing for my time. It feels good. You're accomplishing something that is truly helping everybody in the community I was born and raised in. Water is our greatest resource. We all need it to survive.

Veolia is 100% doing great work. I'm Jim Playset.

MMSC and Viola have been a big part of getting that clean and enjoyable for all of us. When we wanted to expand access for folks in need of bikes, we turned to Viola. The result, the new Viola EcoPass program that has dramatically increased access to our bike share system for folks all throughout our community. Connecting students to schools, people looking for work with employers, the community with parks,

Thanks to our partnership with Veolia, Bubbler Bikes is serving more people than ever before. Those are Milwaukee values.

Okay, I asked the question what did Africans do when we were still in the motherland that caused us then to be enslaved? What evil did we commit that caused us to do to endure the suffering of enslavement?

Is that what it was? Now the first time that Israel went into captivity. We're not talking about that. I asked a specific question. What did our ancestors do? I didn't cite any scripture. I asked you a question. No, because I asked you one question each.

What did our enslaved ancestors do? That then we had to endure the horrors of enslavement. You went pouring after other gods. Now, if you ask me, where do I get that from, then we can continue to die. No, because that would happen to you. So you're telling me that that's what they were doing in Africa at that time?

It already happened a hundred years before we got to this so what happened wasn't so what happened was just so I can understand this so because our ancestors were chasing other gods This then justified the horrors of enslavement. Is that the argument you're making?

Now, you don't let me lay my argument out. You just want to take it like that and use it and whatever. But what do you say to you? Like, I had the bird say, what say you about that? What I say, me, I'm just saying that there are things that happen. I don't know if it's God. I think it's people. That's what I'm thinking.

ask why would God allow these things? Well that's the whole thing and that was one of the questions that she's asking in the book. If God is a good all good all the time then why then does God allow suffering? That question is to us not to God correct? So I stand corrected because I was thinking she was asking God that question. I'm saying who are we to question God? Okay so she's asking the readers that question.

No, I mean, I think that becomes the question that people ask Carlton Pearson asked the same question He got a lot of trouble for asking that question. It is a difficult one to understand because Religion All religion whether it's Christianity Islam Buddhism is all these things now the problem that you have when you start talking about Eastern religion is Eastern religion is not monotheistic

Western religion is monotheistic we believe in one God where other people have a more I will say more expansive they have a different view of what the Creator is But I'm getting back to in her in her basic question then answers that Kind of then moves us into other areas. It was something that I heard someone say the question you wouldn't let me answer it man You can ask the question. I only gave you I only gave you the introduction of my other reasoning

Why? That you didn't want to hear it no more. Oh, no, I'm listening. I'm listening now. Okay. We were in a hurry not to other gods. Okay. Now, if you go back, you have to go, you have to travel back to trail the disobedience, the trail of disobedience. Now, the first time that we went to that, I'm going to say those Israelites.

Went into Africa nothing by no means. I'm saying that I'm a Hebrew-Israelite. Yeah, that's running around the city. Okay, but I have realized one thing that in 1992 91 92 National Geographic they used to go into the congos of Africa and then interview all these tribes tribes And upon a tribe that was speaking Judea Jewish language. They couldn't believe it

They said, who are your fathers? They stay behind as our fathers and their forefathers, David. So these people running around, you would call them, they would call them uncivilized, but they were civilized in their own deal. They bought those people back to Israel. Israel couldn't believe it, took them and asked them a lot of questions. They chiefs all kinds of questions. Then they asked for citizenship there. Israel wouldn't give them citizenship.

They had to fight to get a second class citizenship. Then they get them people money to go back to where they come from. But a lot of them stayed there. That's when you get those African Jews that in Israel right now. I think the question becomes, and I know that even for descendants of enslaved Africans, we have been taught that you do not question, which is not the reality. We question God every day.

Why would you question a God you ain't gonna get no answer from? He's too big to be asking me and you. Oh, so so then God doesn't answer our prayers? I think he answers the prayer, but I'm talking about when you start to deal with why you do this and why you do that. Who am I? That's like me asking my mama.

Why would you be so accepting of a religion and you never questioned it or do any critique of it, you just accept it as it is? There's no reason to?

I'm not going to answer the question because it has nothing to do with what we're talking about. No, no, it isn't. And if you were listening at the beginning, if you were listening at the beginning, you heard me say that, you know, part of when I was talking to Annette, part of it is there is a part of this thing where, you know, we talk about eschatology, right? But there's a part of it where we're talking about what happens after we die.

The question for me today is what should we do and why we're still living? And that was, you know, because we were talking about the impact that Keon had, right? That we're still talking about Keon, but Keon had great impact when he was living. So is it really about? Well, you know something, we got a way of adorning and loving the dead. I go past some of these shrines on the street and they got

They got a darn prairie yarn up against the wall, up against the tree. They wouldn't get a nigger or a sip of darn prairie yarn. A lot of this stuff is just, you know, they got extra whiskey, good whiskey out there. They wouldn't give him a drop if his hot was on fire and he'd be vying to be put out. But they couldn't be a darn. But what I'm saying is that it is, and I know in many African cultures,

the fact that you're still referenced after you die says a lot about how you lived your life. So how do people, how will people, how will people reference Meach after you, after you're dead and gone? What would they be saying about Meach? Because I think that's how when, when you, when, when you look at, and look man, long way from there, I mean, I'd like to believe that I've had positive impact in this world.

that the world is a little bit better because I'm not because I'm in it, but because of what I kind of bring to the table. I like that's something that I really work hard on, you know, like you are at the salt of the earth. You know, I mean, but I wonder sometimes because again, let me ask you a question. Are you working on a legacy that you could leave behind after you've gone? Because for most of us, after about two or three months,

we become just a vape in the wind, you know? I am. I like to think that the impact that, and we all do, we have impact here, whether it's negative or positive or just neutral, you know, you just kind of hear, but I, so let me ask this question, if it's fair in terms of your, your practicing Christian, right? Correct. Okay. So what would be if you, if you

What would be the essence of your belief and Christianity what what or your practice of Christianity? Your practice I mean

So morally, I try to live my life doing it the other way around. Is that what Jesus taught? Yeah, of course. Yes. And I'm saying that sometimes we miss that. You know, it's the ritual. There's a number to do with that, though, brother. That qualified, see, to use that right there, to use that moment to achieve heaven.

No, no, no, you know what? I think I think it I think it's not so much so I can achieve heaven and I'm trying to remember the scripture Wait a minute. Wait a minute. I think it's that you become a lover of good doing good during what is right that it becomes part of your DNA Right that I become less selfish

You know, I think that that, not so I can go to heaven, but because it's the right thing to do right now. Brother, first of all, there's a component to that, to qualify you. You can be more than good. We got atheists that can do well. I mean, that are morally grateful people, okay? They don't, it's a component, the secret to that.

is believe it that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is our way. No, no, you need to go to you need to go to you need to go to you need to go to go to the 25th chapter of Matthew and see what Jesus says about how you will receive eternal life. Have you have you read? Have you read Matthew 25?

No, no, no, no, that's Matthew either 27 28 no Well, there he uses the analogy There was this this person who had gone to the master and It goes on to all these things, you know You know, that's the famously where it talks about I know you not, you know, because

Here's how you achieve eternal life, that you do good to others, you visit the sick, you provide food to the hungry, clothes to the naked, shelters to the homeless. Look at him and say, department, you work on the iniquity. Right, because those things that he listed. Those are atheists. See what sort of qualifies him to know me. So are you making the argument?

that you could just do the incantation and say, I believe that Jesus died for my sins and that's going to get me into heaven. I don't have to do any good because I did that incantation. No, that's the gladi-gradic group. No, that's the gladi-gradic group. That don't work like that either. No, I'm just saying that our more works do matter. And they matter more than our religious ritualism.

where we go through the motions and we do incantations and we do all these things. That's not the question. Jesus wants to know that when I was in prison, did you come visit me? When I was sick, did you provide me? That's the question. Not that you shout in church. Not that did you believe in this and did you believe in that? Your beliefs should be, based on religion, should be propelling you to be a better person.

And part of being a better person is how we comport ourselves with other people. A lot of better persons. I think they got a better chance of getting into heaven than some Christians who are not better people. If they don't add the other component, it's all in line with the other party. No, no, no, no, Jesus. That's not what Jesus said. That's not what Jesus said. I'm only going on what Jesus said. Hold on, hold on, brother, brother, brother, brother. Go ahead on and play those games with yourself. But you understand what I'm saying.

No, I don't understand what you're saying. I disagree with what you're saying. I can't make it no clearer that you can be morally straight. You're supposed to be morally straight if you're a Christian. I can't hear you. You heard everything else with that. You're supposed to be morally straight if you're a Christian. There are people that are morally straight that are Christians that haven't added the other component. What's the other component? That's it. That's the bottom line. All right.

I mean, all that other stuff is just stuff. The bottom line. Living your life as a great and moral person and doing all of that good stuff and still going to hell ain't no good. How you gonna go to hell if you do all, do the right things? I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell. Why seeing it, the personal savior, man, the sacrificial sacrifice for your sins. Is that what Jesus said in Matthew 25?

I'm going on what Jesus said. Let's talk about what Jesus said. We should always start with what Jesus said. Is that what Jesus said? Can you pull it up for the discussion we have so we can get. Okay. Well, I just want to know brother preacher. No. Is that what Jesus said? What you're saying? I understand what Jesus said, but the other Jesus wasn't yet crucified yet. He hadn't been crucified in ways yet.

Okay. All right, man. I know what he said. The brother, he hasn't yet been crucified to add the component that makes our religion hated. Do you understand why they hate Christianity? Yeah, because white Christians have gone throughout the world and they have congregations in the name of Jesus. They have taken resources. They have enslaved people. So yeah, there's some people who might have a problem with Christianity.

America is a pluralistic country when it comes to religion

you don't come in and have prayer five times a day with a big one. Some people aren't even supposed to be coming into a classroom every day. One time a day. I was shut down. Okay. Appreciate you. It wasn't something everybody would have was shut down. If we, if we were downtown in California, Johnson said, just as a mayor, we want to have a Christian prayer five times a day where you give it about two to three weeks. I have people calling in here calling into this station.

this program saying we should put prayer back in school. What kind of prayer? Muslim prayer? No, no, no, no, no. Jewish prayer? Christian prayer. Christian prayer. I appreciate you, man. Carla, welcome to the program. But we can't have Muslim prayer. Good morning. Hey, did Jermaine come back in the studio yet? No. Oh, okay, because he told me he hadn't gone on. Oh, okay. I thought he was having one. No, if he was in here so he could back you up. All right, go on, man.

Oh, no, not just that question because I was thinking but all the post looks like the post got wiped out. I don't know if he looked like all the post got wiped out because he was talking about the age of accountability. You were talking about being the age of accountability. Okay. So how does a one year old child know how to lie to all the math? One year old wouldn't know how to lie because one year old can't talk.

I'd say yes and no and all that. Did you do that? Wait, I'm just saying one year olds can't talk. George, I don't know where. George, hold on, about 18 months, usually when kids start speaking. George, I don't know exactly where you were going and I got to stop you. Okay, thank you because he's like to play these little edit dash. Hold on, hold on. I think you know where I'm from. Yeah, I'm not exactly. Listen, that's all I want to call.

to get your response to that. Yeah, I got to. Don't think it's your main opportunity to say. Okay. Now, what he's saying, no, no, no, seriously, what he's saying is, as a child, you are not taught to lie because it's in your instincts. It's natural because of you born into sin. Prime example, if you ask a child whether he's two, three years old, did you touch that?

Did you do that? They're going to say no because of either the fear of what's going to happen, knowing that if they touched it before and you might have punished them, you asked them the second time around, did you do it? They don't say no because of this natural instilled in them. Nobody taught them how to lie. It's a sin. However, your shaping is when you learn of what you're doing and when you learn right from wrong, so you're being shaped.

into who you become. So, yeah. One year olds cannot talk. No, he's not saying that he was just saying because of the instinct. Even if they don't talk, they're saying, uh-uh. No, no, no, no. No, one year old doesn't, their brain is not. Well, not a one year old. So, let's say a two year old. Let's say a three year old. They're just still learning how to talk. But again, Keith, your parent has asked you, did you touch that? Did you do that? And you said, no, just out of your instinct.

because maybe that's one of the things that we shouldn't do is ask a kid what would be a rhetorical question. You knew he touched it. Well, again, so why are you asking? Well, because you gave the example. I don't fear. So again, but lying is something that's taught.

Yes, it is. No, it's not. Yes, it is. Because nobody taught them to say that. You gave an example. No, no, you gave the example. I got in trouble for doing it before. I did it again. I remember, here comes wisdom. I got in trouble. I got in trouble. But nobody taught him to lie, though. No, no. So one of those instincts we're born with is fear, right? Fight or flight. So fear of consequences will say, no, I didn't do it because I'm trying to avoid the consequence. It's still a lie.

I get that, but you said, how did I learn? I'm just saying, a lot of times I learn from past experience or I can learn to how you, based on how you coming at me and the tone that you do and the look on your face, I understand trouble. And I'm fearful of trouble. But that's human. But lying is adapting to one's environment. That's part of why we lie. You are right. But fear,

Again, even with fear, fear is not taught to you. Well, fear is something that is part of our instinct because of our survival. Just like lying. Lying could be a part of your existence. How many kids know, let's say they have an abusive father or abusive mother? I'm talking about physically abusive.

And they know if maybe if I lie, he won't hit me. She won't hit me. That's survival. That's fear. I get it, but it's still not taught. It is taught. It's an experience. And you learn how to avoid consequences or negative consequences because or how about lying to get a good. I mean, when I think about it and then and then in and of itself.

We put lying because it's part of the big 10. We put lying in, but you know, I gave the examples. There are times when you should lie, right? If you sit up here telling, like you, but people sit up here going like, and the example I always give, I used to give it with Keon and he, of course, him, he just taken us to Keon. If people come looking for me and they say they're going to kill me and you know where I am, should you tell them where I am?

You know what? No. That is correct. But however. So what I'm saying is so when we do things like you lying or you I mean it becomes more and again that then becomes because the 10 commandments were put in place because they were forming a society you need rules. You do not have rules. You have anarchy. You have chaos. So rules are there

to make sure that satiety runs fairly smoothly. Now, people violate the rules every day. But the vast majority of people follow the rules. Right. Now, you asking that question is a tough situation because for those people that might have a real relationship with God, and I get it, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, people like myself, you know, it's a, it's a hypothetical situation. I love that. For us real Christians.

For the real believers. And we started off with a questioning, and whether or not, oh, here I'm preaching, whether or not we, you know, we should question God. Or can we question God? And then Meach said, what gives you to make the question God? We've questioned God since the beginning. Well, I mean, and I don't, and again, I can't speak for God.

but I don't think God is gonna be offended because I asked God a question. I believe that it's okay to ask God a question. The problem becomes when you feel like God is supposed to give you an answer when you want the answer. Why would I ask the question? Because you want to answer. Okay. But the problem becomes when he don't respond to you in a timely fashion or when he don't respond to you at all, now is the what God do you hear me?

Well, yeah, I hear you but that's just like if you had a kid and you told your kid to go clean the room or wash the dishes and they would why you want me to wash the dishes and you don't respond? Hold on. I told you to do something you're gonna do what I told you to do Well, why do you want me to do it? So now you find yourself like okay, I told you to do it it ain't gonna change the fact

Even though you're asking me it ain't gonna change the fact that I told you something or I or I allowed something to happen now wait for me to respond because I am all money I am And that's all I gotta say doc I am So by having the name of I am you do what you want you can respond whenever you want and you just got to wait for his response

So there's no problem with questioning guy. Okay. I think the problem is that's where I think that was response Who's mine or hers? No I'm not doing this Jack

And take this collar. So we go and break. Good morning, gentlemen. You know, then Abraham, Abraham and Sarah tried to help God. Okay, that's one thing when you pray and you don't answer right away. God don't need no help, number one.

And then he also tells us don't always let the right hand know what the left hand doing. This is a lie, but you didn't say nothing. I like this. So if the Bible says you don't let the right hand know what the left hand is always doing, and you said the pier, put yourself under scrutiny because somebody asked you a question, and it's not your right to answer them.

All questions is not your right to ask. Yeah, he got a point. You know, if you could put yourself, look at Keith, if you want to shut up, they would have never knew. Yep. Yep. We put ourselves in situations trying to look me, but see, God's anointed. We don't need to help us. So join us. We don't need God to help us, so join us. And you have no, there's no need for us to try. Yep.

Like what? Give me an example of that. Give me an example of something we asked today not business. Give me an example.

Somebody said, did you know he killed somebody? And you know he's going to do the right thing because he'll turn himself in. Let me tell you what happened. I went through this, a guy stopped somebody, called me, and said, what should I do? I said, the best thing to do is not to run because if you go and turn yourself in and deal with this and let him know what happened, he'll come out later. Let me ask you a question then.

Did he come to you as a preacher, pastor? Yeah. And you know that you, if he comes to you, there's the saying called the sanctity of the confession. Yes, I do not have to say anything. I couldn't let go off. No, I mean, no, I'm saying that you can't then call the police unless you think he's going to be a danger to somebody else. Someone else. Right. Right. But you can be, you can literally be sued. Exactly. If he comes to you as a clergy.

And make a confession to you as clergy now again the exception to that is child abuse But no, I mean that there are people that's the thing with priests that a lot of times they hear Confessions of people doing some God awful things wait a minute and they're not and no and this protect No, no, it's protected so protect it. So what about this whole? Therapist that's the main thing so with the guy what but the guy from the radio station

that told his therapist, all of the stuff he was doing and having thoughts about kids, she turned them in. Right, because when it comes to kids, that's the exception. Oh, okay. And remember with the Menendez brothers, they were trying to get their confessions that they had, there was tapes out there where one of them had confessed to the killings. Right. And whether or not that would be admissible or not, because that's the, it's funny, man, because a lot of people

They don't understand and we always put that whole sanctity of the confessionary with Catholics. No, it's any clergy. Any clergy. You know what, when people come to you, they say, you know, but the Bible also says something, you confess one to another, something, God is praying leave it there. Deplication is a monster. Right. So it's like, it's like I come to you and I confess that I'm cheating on my wife. Can you call my wife and tell her?

And I think that that is the piece. And there's reasons for that, I guess, where that protection is in. And there are people who go, and I don't think they realize this, and this is part of the training that we should be doing with our clergy, to begin to understand that there's certain things that you're still under the law, right? And we'll talk about the law, the government.

And so there's certain things that you can do, but I can't come in and Jermaine confessed to me about something that he did and have a conversation on the radio about it. Jermaine consumed me, especially when he came to me and he said, hey Reverend, once that they invoked the confessionary, that is a totally different thing. You have it with therapists, you have it with doctors. Again, now if the person comes to me and said, I'm going to commit a crime,

Then I have a responsibility to be a reporter, right? Well, you know what that is right because in the marriage

possession is nine tenths of the law. So it's whoever has that child at that time, which is kind of a weird piece. But it'll be up to the court to decide where that child will be after that. But yeah, if you have the kid and you're married, you're the legal parent, and you go down like I used to see it with people applying for public assistance, right? And you could show that that child was residing with you. You have the child. So it

You know, it gets into, especially when you get into family law, family law is not convoluted, but there's a lot that goes around it because family law is primarily developed for the protection of children. Right. So back to what we said, I'm going to let you go. Yes, sir. Shoulder purse. Always open that mouth when somebody is talking to them about situations. Nope. Don't always know.

and that you might be married. And I'm excited that you might be married. It's something you don't want to tell your wife. And it ain't to hurt her, because she might have a spin and happy trade situation. God might just get you another 50,000 to put over here for a rainy day for her. And if she knows it's there, guess what she's gonna do? Hey man, I think you're getting up in people's videos. All right, we're listening to the video.

Did you notice my silence on all of that? Did you hear the crickets over here on my side? What about what he said? I didn't hear nothing he said. But I had asked a question earlier. Are there secrets, are secrets about marriages? And that's, you know. That's about doing the right thing for your future.

You call it what you want to call it. All right. Here's a secret. It's like what the beach said that you want the question. It was a petition for a question. Like, okay. Appreciate you, man. You listen to community wisdom. Call us to you. I'm gonna get you when we get back. We'll be right back.

you are in news. President Trump is calling for a federal action against a journalist over one sentence about his political record. NBC's read the press my way to Krista Welker was discussing Trump's endorsement in Republican primaries when she said

President has had some mixed results when it comes to his endorsements. This is a true statement, but that prompted Trump to say Walker should be reported to the FCC for rebuke or punishment because of a statement, a purpose for inaccuracy and urge FCC chairman Brendan Carr to take the matter seriously. And we see a standing behind Walker saying, Kristen is one of the best in the business and we stand by her. Now the dispute raises a much bigger question about government power and the press. Should the president be able to call on a third?

Milwaukee Police are searching for suspects that robbed four Mesmer High School students. It happened on Friday, just steps away from campus near Capitol Drive in Port Washington Road. Police say the suspects were armed when they demanded the student's property and then ran off in a letter from the school to families. They say there were three suspects who appeared to be around 16 years old.

Milwaukee Police and Mayor Cavaliere-Johnson agreed to new changes for how police use flock camera technology. Now, only MPD supervisors can use the license plate technology readers, not detectives or officers alone. And this is your Civic Minute. A single 15 barge tow on the Mississippi River carries as much cargo as a thousand semi-trucks. Fuel, fertilizer, green, it all moves by water because nothing else comes close on cost. Over 65% of America's agricultural exports traveled the Mississippi to reach the world. But for four years running, drought has been dropping water levels on the river. When the water gets low, barges carry lighter loads, which means more trips. More trips means higher costs.

In 2024, large rates jump nearly 60% above their three-year average. Those costs drive up fuel, fertilizer, and grocery prices across the Midwest, including Wisconsin. And this isn't a one-time event. Scientists say these swings between extreme wet and dry are becoming more frequent. The river that keeps the Midwest economy moving is becoming less reliable, and there's no backup system that can replace it. That's your Civic Minute. Find more at CivicMedia.us.

voice. You're inside Community Voice on WNOV 860 AM and 106.5 FM with your host, Keith Parris. Hi, welcome back. Caller, welcome to the program. Good morning. Good morning. How are you? Thank you. I'd like to answer your question that you're closed earlier. And I think I can do it hopefully in a way that

doesn't lean totally on any particular religion or scripture that has respect for the beliefs of different people. In regard to why God allows certain things, all right now, we can separate this from what is allowed and what is actually coming directly from something that

God is putting on someone, I guess people were called to punishment. But I think what we make out of this mistake is in labeling almost everything that's uncomfortable, that's stressful, that's trying, that's troubling. Labeling that as bad or some type of punishment or something that God should have prevented. There are things that are within the law of nature

that if you violate both, then you will get the consequences of it. That may be us personally, and that may be the society as a whole. So you will find us getting various diseases, illnesses, et cetera, as a result of things we bring about. However, just being human beings, we are going to experience illnesses, accidents, and eventually death.

So, almost every time we hear somebody dying, then because this is a bad thing, and it's certainly I've experienced enough of it myself, but it's painful, but acknowledging and realizing that that's the inevitability of life is eventually leafier through death, then that's one of the main things to me that we need to stop labeling.

or both bad and we can say it's painful, it's, you know, it was bad, it hurt and acknowledge our feelings and even if there were lessons to be learned from how a person passed away or what not. So I think that we can start seeing more things in life to help us get stronger.

two people said the same thing, okay, like when you were playing basketball and your coach would give you some drills and they were proud to just be so trying and you didn't want to do it. And it might seem like punishment to one ballplayer and then they seem like, oh, this is strength and this is happening and it helped help me out. So that's just, I think, and I know I'm not answering the whole question, but we can look at how

we define things. And then everything, of course, that's pleasurable is not positive. Oh, I was blessed with this. I was blessed with that just because it feels good for the moment or it may result in financial pain or whatnot. So I don't know. Do you have any questions about anything else that I know kind of am? No, no, no. You make a good point. I was just thinking like when you talk about viruses and illnesses, you know,

that's all part of the ecosystem, right? That viruses are organisms like humans are, right? And it's all part of this and there's a balance there. Like if you look at certain insects, eat other insects or you do this and it has impact or all of us, you know, if we dive, we had natural burials. We go into the land and we fertilize the land, right? I mean, but it's

the, you know, talk about the cycle of life, that the ecology is such that all of us are intertwined, different things, though we have different existences, it's all there. And then organisms, their primary purpose is to survive, right? I mean, you know, so what do you do? You adapt to survive. We saw a little helomons, is it a little iguana? It was amazing. It was, it was green.

And it was so if you didn't see it, it blended in with the grass. Well, that's evolution. That's adapting to one's environment so one can survive, right? Because if there's a predatory animal out there that eats iguanas and it can see it, engorptus. So if I can conceal myself, so we do a lot to survive, right? We put clothes on to survive the elements, right? We eat.

in order to survive. So it's all these things that we're doing because like viruses, human beings are trying to survive, right? You want to exist as long as you can and then, and that's probably where you get into that whole reincarnation piece with Buddhism and other Eastern religions is saying that, you know, there's this cycle. We go back into the earth, right? And we become part of the earth. They were talking about like when you're looking at these forest fires,

In the past, you know, human beings weren't as close to the forest. So in the past, they would just let them burn out because what happens is that burnt timber becomes fertilizer to replenish the forest. But now that human beings live so close and that then

our existence is threatened, i.e., our houses burned down, they put the fires up. What has had an impact then on reforestation? I think that that's the word. So, I mean, all of it is kind of, there's the natural piece of it. And I heard this quote. It said, no species has had the impact on the planet in the last 40,000 years as human beings, right? And human beings have an outside sense of their importance and existence, but we're only a small part of the existence.

You know, if you talk about millions of stars, millions of solar systems, you know, we're only a small part of it. But I appreciate you. Thank you for your opportunity. You got another question. Yes. May I just end with this one sentence? Yes. And that's that when something happened that's painful in the face, why do bad things happen to poor good people or why did God allow it?

as human beings have a lot of free will. So, that is not micromanaging everything. I think he's allowing us to make a lot of choices while sales and reap the benefit of the consequences of those choices. And I agree with you on that. You know, Aristotle said God is the unmoved mover, right? And again, it's something I heard a brother from Detroit say, it's not God. It's how we've been taught about God. And then we have this whole concept of a personal God, right?

like, you know, seven billion people in the world, but I got my own little personal guy. So, I mean, there's a lot there, but when you look at it, you know, there are things out there that's unexplainable. You can't, you just happen to be at the right place at the right time when that accident happened, right? I mean, it lines up that way. You know, it's like the people that we romantically involve ourselves with, right place, right time, right chemistry, bam, there you go. All right.

I know how to push the button now. Call and roll to the program. Go push the button! I know you pressed for time because it's Tuesday, but I want to do what you do. Then you reverse stuff on people because you always ask me that question. And I'm going to hand up a list to see what your answer is. What did the Africans do for God to be allowed to be completed slavery? And I'm going to hand up a list to see what your answer is. Thank you very much. Nothing.

They just happen to be there and able to be sold into slavery. I don't see, and I hope the premise of that question is that somehow we deserve enslavement because of something our ancestors did. No, I'm not, that dog ain't gonna hunt. Call it, welcome to the program. What is it called? Good morning. Yes. What were you saying? I was telling.

I also have to like, you know, uh, please ask them where, where do I start when you come from? Why do you do your stuff for today?

Keith B. Parris

I didn't even know her real name was Yolanda for years because it was always putting.

Wow.

Yeah.

So, can y'all think of some nicknames out there?

Uh you know, uh let's see.

We'll be another one.

Peaches?

Yeah, well, yeah, peaches.

Keith B. Parris

Say it on tape.

Say it on tape.

Say it on tape.

I was I

was

Keith B. Parris

doing tribute to my to my sister-in-law and I pointed out told the story and I said Rhonda people

No, Rhonda, they all know squeaky, but they don't know Rhonda, right?

So and then her and then her her theme song came on like candy My candy yeah, let's see That's the word that's the name bear I

mean, I got it.

I got a friend down south to his his uncle nickname is bear.

Okay

and that's because he like six nine he like six nine big swole cat man.

Keith B. Parris

When I was in uh when I was I went down I was Chicago I went to the Cotton Club for the open mic and the dude who was doing it his name was Gemini.

Oh yeah because it was two of them that's how big that was.

He was a big boy.

Let's see Lil Man.

Yeah

Keith B. Parris

Lil Man.

Lil Man.

But

Keith B. Parris

a little little

anybody

Keith B. Parris

a little anybody Dave that for somebody You know like who I saw one of My niece Adriana's brothers and for years he's a little Robert He said now now they called me Robert Earl, but he's a little Robert

My daddy had like three names Hank

Cotton and Uncle Boom or Boom.

Keith B. Parris

They from the South?

Yeah.

Keith B. Parris

That's what people call you which frustrates me with key PD because

I Remember watching the wire.

Yeah, and they're sitting in there planning something and dudes over there taking notes and Stringer looked at him He said what you doing?

He's I'm taking notes.

He said man, you don't take notes

who we do to keep criminal conspiracy, you know, put

it

Keith B. Parris

in writing.

Don't write in town.

Keith B. Parris

You know, it's like, what was it?

Bad bosses, when they put the plan on the board with, you know, but they thought it was a erasable ink and it wasn't permanent ink.

Boy, some

folks

Keith B. Parris

can't do wrong,

right?

But the thing with this whole key FD situation.

And I tell these cats all the time, because we actually had this conversation on the podcast, whatever that we just did a few months ago.

was talking about how people want attention and fame so bad that they would pretty much sell their souls.

So you got a situation like this.

Not when there's a crime involved.

That part.

So when you know that something happened and going on Vlad TV for people that don't know Vlad TV is really the police, he's the fed with a microphone.

So he could all of these people that come on his show

and talk but they always end up in legal trouble because again you tell on yourself.

But it's the platform that he create and the police use this platform for every single rapper that has went down.

What a

Keith B. Parris

pretty Tony Fauci.

One, two, three, four.

I

ain't talking.

I'm not listening.

Keith B. Parris

Two guns.

Lawyer.

Every time they ask this little question, lawyer.

Yeah, I don't I don't know anything because if you say you know, especially for something that don't go away like homicide, homicides, there's no statute of limitation on.

Keith B. Parris

Right.

So it's forever.

Keith B. Parris

Right.

So you can be 90 years old, change your life, a preacher, and then caught the Holy

Keith B. Parris

Ghost.

By Radeela

Keith B. Parris

Beckwith, would it get him 30 years

after he killed man Evans?

Yeah.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah.

So I mean,

Just stop talking.

So that's why stop talking

is certain things.

I won't say on the air because they're

Keith B. Parris

on the air in the air.

In the air.

Not just on the air.

Period.

Were you at such and such?

No.

Why don't I take

pictures?

Keith B. Parris

Because I wasn't there.

Listen, I wasn't there.

Cardi B said it so clearly.

No face,

no

case.

Yeah.

So if you have a situation like that,

You can't put yourself in a situation that won everybody that was a part of the crime is now Standing before God and weigh no nate judgment.

Keith B. Parris

Well, I'll deal with that one.

I would rather take that I think I got a different shot then be the dude to sit up here now Like like like he is shocked.

I can't believe I'm here.

You hear cuz not only were you talking you wrote it down and

They found them guilty yesterday.

What got

Nixon?

The tapes.

What got the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Joe Smith thing with this whole contract thing that they're looking at Gary Tritt about?

They wrote it down.

They wrote it down and the NBA came in and investigated and found that these guys was cheating and stuffing money with this whole Joe Smith situation.

That's how they lost their pigs.

Keith B. Parris

Well, you know, if you...

Now I know they've they've had this very pejorative thing if you want to hide it from black folks put it in the

book,

okay?

Okay.

Hmm.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah.

Well, if you're trying to hide it from the police Take don't put it in the

book Take it to your grave

Keith B. Parris

man.

Some things you need to take to your grave man.

I mean just Just talking man, and I'll be going like man.

They said what about that?

What about it

man?

Listen if you have asked God for forgiveness

The Bible tells me he throws it into a sea of forgive for this.

So why would I want to remember that and carry that with life when I'm asked for forgiveness?

Now, though, you would have to pay because again, you would never get away with it.

You might get by for a season, but I mean, but you're going to pay for it some way somehow.

But I'm not going to tell these people that's able to take my life away for 30, 40 years or something that I did when I wasn't thinking in my 20s because I'm not the same.

The

Keith B. Parris

first

thing that I was when I was

Keith B. Parris

20, I don't know if Puff tried to come

on.

No, no, no, no,

Keith B. Parris

no.

It

actually came out.

No, no, no.

Keith B. Parris

No, it actually came

up.

It actually, no, listen.

I believe it came

Keith B. Parris

out

in a trial.

I know you do.

It came out in a conspiracy.

No, but this ain't.

Listen, man, I've been hearing about this for years

Keith B. Parris

and now I'm at all of the paper trail.

People put all kinds of stuff on it.

I know, but

when the paper trail come out and you can't deny the receipts, so when the receipts hit and you see

that, okay, he did go to Walmart and get such and such and such.

You can't fight that because you got the receipts.

Another reason why I don't go to Walmart.

Keith B. Parris

Among the movie pieces, why I don't go to Walmart.

I would be, yeah, Keith was in Walmart.

He killed Biggie.

He was the Walmart.

I killed Biggie.

Come on,

Keith B. Parris

man.

Try to make it make sense.

Boy, you know human beings and conspiracies human beings man Just just amaze me when people come up with what they come up with but it'd be like Yeah, okay.

See what happened with Jermaine was and then you'd be going like

what

Keith B. Parris

yeah Yeah, and then he you know, so there here's this axiom those that talk don't know

those that know, don't talk.

That's how it's supposed to be.

That's real talk, you

know?

Keith B. Parris

So, you know,

keep on, keep

on talking.

And the mafia was immortal.

Immortal.

So, Jovalachi just blew all that up, but I'm just saying now, you know, people snitch, they just.

And then, and then you got these people that's, that's calling these other guys that come in and testify, snitches and y'all are telling, but

You got people that's getting on Facebook, you getting on

these

shows, you getting on Instagram, and you talking, you showing proof of the money, you showing all this other stuff, so didn't know when the people's come holler at you.

Now it's to, oh, well, such a, such a snitch, you know.

No, no, no, no.

How'd you find out?

Right?

Keith B. Parris

That was the question.

How'd you find out?

I don't know.

Facebook?

Right.

That part.

And you told it to

Keith B. Parris

Facebook.

You know what, man?

I don't.

I learn, I tell people, Facebook, my Facebook friends, I have an eclectic, very vast, diverse group of people that is part of my little Facebook friend tree.

And because of that, I'm very mindful of what I put out there.

Now some people, oh man, it's the truth.

Everything that comes up don't have to come out.

And you just sit up here putting your truth out there.

And then later on in life, it's like,

How do they find all these pictures?

You know, like they got pictures.

I was telling me and my buddy we were talking yesterday.

So it's amazing, man.

I commit a crime.

There's a picture of me and Jermaine.

There's a picture of me and Jeffrey Epstein.

You know, it's like, where do these pictures come from?

So I don't, I try not to get into pictures as much as I can.

And maybe that's that paranoia from the 60s and 70s.

But man, if any indication, some of these pictures that you see of folks out there, because, you know, and then the press will buy pictures, right?

They'll buy pictures.

Yeah.

Isn't that how Peter Parker?

Yeah.

Keith B. Parris

And that what he did?

Yeah.

He took them and sold the pictures.

Yeah.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah.

Everybody know who Peter Parker is?

Spider-Man.

Spider-Man.

Spider-Man.

He's your neighborhood.

So,

uh, question

with, with this demand.

So when, when that.

incident with sugar easy.

Remember?

Do you think that he really ejected easy with the egg?

Keith B. Parris

No.

No.

There was rumors about easy's private life that was circulated.

But his

wife didn't get it

Keith B. Parris

though.

Well, because magic Johnson's wife didn't get it.

Magic got her.

She was she was pregnant.

So magic got her.

No, man.

It was yeah, she was pregnant.

So wait.

So okay.

Now, I do understand that whole, you know, that whole conspiracy look at that, because even with Bob Marley, with the movie that it just came, it came out in the movie, but I've been hearing this over years, how they put that in his shoe that was given to him.

They gave him some conversions or something.

He stepped in his shoe.

When he stepped on that shoe, that was how he was infected with the cancer that he got.

and that informant came out and said that before he died.

So

I don't know, man, is it?

I mean, you know, that was there because it was like all the everybody that was around him, you know what I'm saying, didn't didn't get it.

So, you know, they always doing from what I they were always doing the same women anyway.

So they was knocking them down.

Yeah.

So I'm just saying, you know, conspiracy with X.

There's something

going on.

I don't

know, man.

I mean, but one thing I do know for sure.

something happened.

Something happened because whenever there's money involved

Keith B. Parris

and that something

happened, yeah, the person died.

Yeah, but how and why?

Because again, taking over it would take over.

Remember, you try to take over.

Yeah.

You're not as in the company.

So, what you're

Keith B. Parris

saying?

Just talk about it.

Pops mama finally get his master's.

Oh, she's still fighting for

Keith B. Parris

it.

She

died.

Yeah, she passed away.

So the

Keith B. Parris

family system.

Yeah.

But that's what I'm saying.

Like it's true.

Biggie put out a song, man, that sticks to me to this day, man.

The song.

No, the song says you're nobody until somebody kills you.

And which is true because in life, you can have this status.

But once you're gone,

Tupac has made more money in his death than he did a lie So that's saying that you was nothing pretty much When he was a lie But soon as that bullet you caught that bullet your sales went up merchandise went up and what you was worth You're worth more in the grave than you are walking amongst us Which is crazy

Keith B. Parris

So

I'm gonna be bigger

in death Well, yeah, I mean look at all of that and

and

I'm gonna say this How many times Now I'm just gonna use this as an as an example because it's personal and it's real When Keon Jackson was here All of the accolades that we give him now in depth how many times have people gave him the accolades that he can hear them and actually embracing

See them saying so all of the accolades came that people saying he was again He wasn't a great guy.

He's a great dude.

Like I locked in with Keon.

That was my dog and We locked in and we talked a lot outside of the station But all of the accolades that he get now and all of the love he received now How many people gave him that love while he was alive to embrace it and hold on to I think he got it.

I think

Keith B. Parris

the fact that we are still talking about him and we reference him means that he did have impact and

he's bigger

Keith B. Parris

and I know we want to wait until people die and and then we try to call all up in the casket with him but um yeah I I think you know yeah and you know I did I did a sermon

and it was entitled bigger than death than in life.

And I used Tupac, I used Michael Jackson, Elvis, but I said, you know, and this is, you know, from a theological perspective that Jesus was bigger in death than he was in life.

Yeah, yeah.

Yeah.

You know, that, you know, in terms of impact and influence then.

the whole thing so you know you don't have to die in order to You didn't have to die in order to you know make impact now.

Yeah, and yeah, and that's how we that's how we live my love Rhonda's reading the book and I think it's I Think the title book and I'm she's listening.

She'll text me.

I think it's Something about God knows When I found out God knew I was black

And so Ron if you can just send me the title of that let me look and it was fascinating to hear her because the author is challenging these some of the conventions that we have like the role of women in scripture the How Christianity was used to

or is being used to prop up capitalism and, let's see here, I'm proud of myself.

Am I right?

Am I

got my okay?

Keith B. Parris

Yeah, and so but it is there I don't know man You know, we started talking about conspiracy just like voting has consequence consequences can't send has consequences.

It's not God.

It's man.

I Disagree George And then he says Jesus isn't dead he's what our

father

Well,

Keith B. Parris

I'm a Baptist.

Every Sunday, Jesus dies.

But every Sunday.

But then after service.

Keith B. Parris

No, no, no.

Every

Sunday.

Keith B. Parris

In a lot of Baptist churches, Jesus died.

Yeah, because they show take him to the cross and put.

Keith B. Parris

Oh, yeah, we go into the cross.

So

and I said that that's the

Keith B. Parris

only that's one of the few exceptions.

Wait, wait,

wait, hold on.

Keith B. Parris

He did.

I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah

spirit

but he was resurrected in spirit.

So yeah.

Keith B. Parris

Right.

But even

after

Keith B. Parris

resurrection, he didn't hang around.

He only hung around for 40 days.

Am I?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Well, he

only he only hung around in 40 days in a flesh form.

But then

Keith B. Parris

exactly.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And that's what

we're

Keith B. Parris

talking about.

Human beings

dying.

Yeah.

Well, yeah.

Yeah.

Okay.

Okay.

Keith B. Parris

So I do see, you know,

okay.

Keith B. Parris

There's no controversy there.

Look, you know what, man?

You need to invite me to your preacher square, man.

I need to be on

Keith B. Parris

that.

The name of the book is The Day God Saw Me as Black by D. Danielle Thomas.

Oh, look, Kennedy, her first day at

school.

Well, I wonder, man, because you know, God saw me as black a long time ago when he realized I was late to service.

Man, I had to be late all the time.

Keith B. Parris

That's when he saw you as

black.

Yeah, he knew.

Oh, he

black.

He was late.

No, I'm not saying all black people are late, but this one,

Keith B. Parris

I am saying some black people

are late.

Keith B. Parris

Now you can

quantify

Keith B. Parris

it and figure out what percentage that is.

I don't know what it is about good places to start no time.

Some people more, ooh, that's why a whole lot of people been starting to ground railroad.

You know, it's coming through and you getting your hair dead.

Call one.

Good

morning, my brother.

On what part do

you disagree with me or not?

On the sin and voting, what part do you disagree?

Keith B. Parris

I don't think the suffering is because some suffering is caused by by man's sin to other people.

But the idea, what what what did the the kid who started in Africa, what what what sin did that

person commit?

That could

Keith B. Parris

be

generation.

Sin of sin is contagious.

Sin of the fathers

though.

So you tell me that a kid died of

hunger is sinning?

Sin of your father.

So what about the kid that walks out in the street?

What about the kid that dies from cancer?

Right.

We lived in a perfect world to Adam and Eve sinned and ever since sin has been incorporated into this world.

Yeah.

There's no innocent people.

You know, we like to think that babies are innocent.

But if we're born into inequities,

Keith B. Parris

kids,

babies are innocent.

Yeah, these babies are innocent.

We say that babies are innocent.

They are God's view.

No, no, no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, George.

Hold on.

Hold on.

Hold on.

I got to push back.

That's not true because babies are innocent until the age of accountability because you don't know better.

So God would not judge you off for something you don't know.

Kids.

everything that we do in life is a learned behavior.

Every single thing we do.

And

so you don't agree where we

are born?

Yes,

wait, wait, hold

on, hold

on.

I don't

agree.

Scripture says we are born into sin shaped in iniquity.

So that means the shaping of iniquity means of that's learned behavior.

That's what you learn is shaping you.

So yes, we are born into sin that is true, but the shaping is what you become That's not that's

Keith B. Parris

look it up.

But

if you have a relationship with God.

I

Keith B. Parris

got that, George.

But

George, the question I asked is, hey, George, the

Keith B. Parris

question

I

Keith B. Parris

asked is, what did that child do?

It's the cause that's suffering.

The child didn't do anything.

That's the point.

Then that's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The child didn't do anything.

That's it.

The

That's why I effected the debate because of the sin of man, because of the greed of man.

There should be no homeless people in this world.

There should be no hungry people in this world.

None of that should stop the existence because it's the grief.

We got trillionaires in this country now.

Keith B. Parris

Yeah.

I can't afford to get my

Keith B. Parris

I want to get back to

the government.

I want to

Keith B. Parris

get back to the question.

because I think that this is what the author is asking.

It is a question.

There's probably no right or wrong answer to it, but it's a question.

And that question is, for some people, if God is good all the time, why does God allow suffering?

Now,

there's some

Keith B. Parris

people believe

the

Bible.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

Keith B. Parris

no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

And I truly believe this in my heart.

I know this is a hard, this is a

Keith B. Parris

hard

one.

If we did what God told us to do, there probably wouldn't be.

This is a difficult question.

We keep turning away from God.

Okay, that's what y'all want.

Y'all want a king?

Y'all going to have a king.

Okay, but George, let me

Keith B. Parris

ask you another question, George.

What did enslaved people do to justify the horrors of enslavement?

Thank you.

So it was just

it was like you go back to the argument all the time with me and you talk about that argument about about I'm asking a question if you really give me all right let me let me be let me be more specific than what I'm asking you.

I just want to say this keep because I know you love going to the argument with me but even in God's word slaves are not to be mistreated.

and after seven

Keith B. Parris

years.

Did you hear the question

that I

Keith B. Parris

asked

you, George?

You're going to be anywhere in the Bible where this place is supposed to be mistreated.

George, the question I asked you, George, is to try and make everybody say wrong and keep us right.

Keith B. Parris

Well, yeah, of course.

And you're doing the same thing, George.

Exactly.

Keith B. Parris

OK, all right.

Appreciate you, man.

Yeah.

Keith B. Parris

But here's the question.

What did enslave people in Africa do?

That they ended up being enslaved I can kind of answer that kid.

Okay, then you can answer that after the break because I know we've been running long.

Oh, yeah, sure Paula

Keith B. Parris

I see you don't go anywhere.

Y'all help me with that one You're listening to community voice.

We're gonna take a quick break and we'll be right back

The work we're doing at Viola is absolutely bringing access to the water for people.

To be able to have this job to help keep our rivers clean and our lake clean is the greatest thing I could ask to be doing with my time.

It feels good.

You're accomplishing something that is truly helping everybody in the community I was born and raised in.

Water is our greatest resource.

We all need it to survive.

Viola is 100% doing great work.

I'm Jim Playset.

Keith B. Parris

Welcome back, caller.

Thank you for your patience.

Excuse me.

Welcome to the program.

Hi, Keith.

Excuse me.

Hi, Keith.

This is Annette.

Hey, Annette.

How are you?

Hi.

I'm blessed.

You sound good.

Oh, I'm trying to be good.

I'm trying to hear you, Nicky.

OK.

OK.

You were talking about names earlier.

Uh-huh.

And guess what my nickname is back home now?

Don't you tell nobody?

Okay, tell me cuz nobody's

Keith B. Parris

listening

Okay, I'm gonna give you a hint.

Okay, the color purple

Keith B. Parris

color purple color

Sealy No Color purple Who's the other one?

What's her name?

Keith B. Parris

Natty.

Natty.

Okay.

Yeah.

That would

Keith B. Parris

make sense.

Natty?

Natty, yeah.

And you know what

Keith B. Parris

wasn't, uh, didn't Ray Dong Chong,

Rhonda's

Keith B. Parris

listening, didn't she play squeaky?

Wasn't that her name?

Yeah, I was in the life game one.

Yeah, that was, yeah.

Ray Dong Chong,

you know, the guy from

Keith B. Parris

Cheech and Chong, his

daughter.

Yeah, yeah.

She was

Keith B. Parris

squeaky, right?

That

Keith B. Parris

would make

sense.

Keith B. Parris

That would make sense.

Back home, they call me Ned, you hear they call me Ned.

Keith B. Parris

Okay, alright dear.

But listen, I wanted to say something about what you guys are talking about.

I'm gonna ask you the question.

Most of the, I guess, Latino, Spanish, whatever, they wear their crowns.

It's a crucifixion.

So they have, it's a crucifixion.

Uh huh.

And we have Jesus on the cross, right?

And I heard me I would wear it too.

I was wearing my cross one day and I had my crucifixion on it.

And he's like, what are you doing?

And I said, that's it.

He says, Jesus is not on the cross anymore.

And he said, you're a bastard.

And I'm like, so?

And he's like, and that Jesus is not on the cross anymore.

You have me, you were a great, brilliant, you brought me a beautiful cross.

And you say, you wear this.

And I'm like, okay, but I, education is love.

You know, but I had to learn this.

And can you kind of give me a little... What a history

Keith B. Parris

of that is, that was the divide.

I know there are certain Protestant traditions that do not have Jesus on the crucifix.

Catholicism does.

Now, the cross is just a symbol.

And actually, the cross is not even really the original symbol of early Christians.

It was the fish, right?

So

Keith B. Parris

when you go and you'll see sometimes where you see the fish, it's a symbol.

I caution people.

about, and I'm gonna use this word, and I know it's kind of a loaded word, but be careful of idolatry.

And there are people out there who, like for example.

Yeah, the Jimmy Swagger ministry, they have this whole thing about the cross.

And

Keith B. Parris

I'm saying for me, the cross is a part of Jesus' existence.

It

wasn't

Keith B. Parris

all of it now people say because of the cross and you know, you can and we got that redemption but what I'm saying is and it was something that Rhonda also pointed out that Dr. Thomas had pointed out in her book is that we spend more time talking about Jesus dying than we talked about when Jesus lived Okay, that and there's a lot that goes into that type of what they call beatific theology

Right we understand that so we can go back and forth about whether or not it's valid That in my mind is secondary to what

did

Keith B. Parris

Jesus teach and then and then here's the crazy piece of this the things that we complain about I Eat people not getting along with each other people not treating each other You know well or treating each other right is what Jesus talked about so I think you know it depends on where you are

Look, don't waste a whole lot of time on that because

the

Keith B. Parris

vastness of the Creator is such that no one will ever understand.

Keith B. Parris

Right.

Here's Jesus's brother.

And the thing about that was, as it is with a lot of folks, a lot of times it's your family who's very skeptical of your call.

And that was the case

Keith B. Parris

with Jesus and his family.

I know how to push these buttons

now.

Listen to a lot of things and first start off with George asking questions.

And in Georgia, Georgia, you know, even though we disagree on a lot of things when it comes to

Keith B. Parris

No, actually Rhonda was reading the book.

We were discussing it and there was these questions that the author was asking and Before and I think the question that she was saying was over and beyond Religion, but you know, basically of course, she did it through the lens of Christianity because that was her orientation.

I guess what when I'm

the question that the author was asking the readers.

She asked the question, if God is good, then why does God, if God is good all the time, why does God allow suffering?

Okay.

Why, who gives that particular author the right to question an almighty everlasting, creating God?

gives her the right to question that God.

So was that a

Keith B. Parris

question or was that a statement?

Because we had the right

to question God.

You know what that's the problem.

We all got the right to go up to God and talk to God.

I see old preachers in the pulpit howling at God.

No reverence, no real fear of God no more.

They just come in and give man.

God, even the Muslims, even though I disagree with them, you better not put that command on the floor.

They're gonna go off, man.

They do not believe we just throw our body on the back seat, let it hit the floor, whatever.

They treat that old book, that old command,

Keith B. Parris

like some kind of system.

So

Keith B. Parris

you're saying that we should not question?

No, what gives us the right to question God?

After it's written, it's already been written.

See, the danger in this stuff is that we go out, Keith.

seeking the truth, okay?

And by seeking the truth, we pick up all these books.

You know, they got a queer Bible, man.

They got a gay Bible.

Have you heard of Geno Geno and said it on fire?

Listen, man, that Bible would make you, if you read that Bible, that Bible would make you believe that it was a whole lot of that kind of lifestyle going on because they have descriptions.

You can pick the book up just to reach the book.

Keith B. Parris

Psalms, Psalms 22 and 1.

My God, my God.

Why have thou forsaken me?

Is that a question?

Okay,

was that a question?

Hold on, hold on, hold on, that question.

See that question when it comes down to theology, people like to say Jesus looked up into heaven and he was being crucified and his flesh cried out, my God, my God, why has thou forsaken me?

Excuse me, forsaken me.

Listen.

In the garden of the assembly, the Jesus, the

Keith B. Parris

Jesus.

In the garden of Gethsemane, the Jesus

is going too fast, man.

We gotta

Keith B. Parris

address

him.

No, no, no, no.

I'm

Keith B. Parris

not going too fast.

If in the garden of Gethsemane, did Jesus question God?

Yes, he did.

Okay.

So then,

he didn't

Keith B. Parris

question God.

He didn't question

God.

He petitioned God.

Can this cup pass for me?

He petitioned God.

He come to God and asked God.

You know, did he have to drink or just did a cup?

You don't have a question.

It was a question though.

It was a question, but it was with a petition because he didn't want to go.

That's real funny to you.

I'm glad you laugh.

I'm glad you find humor.

That

Keith B. Parris

we questioned God and I don't know if God gets offended that we questioned

her.

Okay, then we talked about slavery.

You're gonna have to hold on, man.

I'm on the break.

Can

Keith B. Parris

you hold on to half of the

break?

President Trump is calling for a federal action against a journalist over one sentence about his political record.

NBC's Meet the Press moderator Kristen Welker was discussing Trump's endorsement in Republican primaries when she said the president has had some mixed results when it comes to his endorsements.

This is a true statement, but that prompted Trump to say Welker should be reported to the FCC for rebuke or punishment.

He called her statement a purposeful inaccuracy and urged FCC Chairman Brendan

The

work we're doing at VLA is absolutely bringing access to the water for people.

MMSC and Viola have been a big part of getting that clean and enjoyable for all of

us.

Those are Milwaukee

Keith B. Parris

values.

Okay,

Keith B. Parris

I asked the question what did Africans do when we were still in the motherland that caused us then to be enslaved?

What evil did we commit that caused us to do to endure the suffering of

enslavement?

Is that what it was?

Now the first time that Israel went into captivity.

Keith B. Parris

We're not talking about that.

I asked a specific question.

What did our ancestors

Keith B. Parris

do?

I didn't cite any scripture.

I asked you a question.

No, because I asked you one question each.

What did our enslaved ancestors do?

That then we had to endure the horrors of enslavement.

You went pouring after other gods.

Now, if you ask me, where do I get that from, then we can continue to die.

No, because that would happen to

Keith B. Parris

you.

So you're telling me that that's what they were doing in Africa at that time?

It already happened a hundred years before we got to this so what

Keith B. Parris

happened wasn't so what happened was just so I can understand this so because our ancestors were chasing other gods This then justified the horrors of enslavement.

Is that the argument you're making?

Now, you don't let me lay my argument out.

You just want to take it like that and use it and whatever.

But what do you say to you?

Like, I had the bird say, what say you about that?

Keith B. Parris

What I say, me, I'm just saying that there are things that happen.

I don't know if it's God.

I think it's people.

That's what I'm thinking.

ask why

would God allow

Keith B. Parris

these things?

Well that's the whole thing and that was one of the questions that she's asking in the book.

If God is a good all good all the time then why then does God allow suffering?

That

question is to us not to God correct?

So I stand corrected because I was thinking she was asking God that question.

I'm saying who are we to question God?

Okay so she's asking the readers that

Keith B. Parris

question.

No, I mean, I think that becomes the question that people ask.

Carlton Pearson asked the same question.

He got a lot of trouble for asking that question.

It is a difficult one to understand because religion or religion, whether it's Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, is all these things.

Now, the problem that you have when you start talking about Eastern religion is Eastern religion is not monotheistic.

Western religion is monotheistic we believe in one God where other people have a more I will say more expansive they have a different view of what the Creator is But I'm getting back to in her in her basic question then answers that Kind of then moves us into other areas.

It was something that I heard someone say

the question you wouldn't let me answer it man You can ask the question.

I only gave you I only gave you the introduction of my other reasoning

Why?

That you didn't want to hit no more.

Oh, no, I'm listening.

I'm listening.

Keith B. Parris

I'm listening now.

Okay.

We were in a hurry not the other guys.

Okay.

Now, if you go back, you have to go, you have to travel back to the trail of the disobedience, the trail of disobedience.

Now, the first time that we went to that, I'm going to say those Israelites.

Went into after nothing by no means.

Keith B. Parris

I think the question becomes, and I know that even for descendants of enslaved Africans, we have been taught that you do not question, which is not the reality.

We question God every

day.

Why would you question a God you ain't gonna get no answer from?

He's too big to be asking me and you.

Keith B. Parris

Oh, so so then God doesn't answer our prayers?

I think he answers the prayer, but I'm talking about when you start to deal with why you do this and why you do that.

Who am I?

That's like me asking my mama.

Why

Keith B. Parris

would you be so accepting of a religion and you never questioned it, or do any critique of it, you just accepted

it as it is?

There's

Keith B. Parris

no reason to?

I'm not going to answer the question because it has nothing to do with what we're talking about.

No, no, it isn't.

And if you were

listening at the beginning, if you were listening at the beginning, you heard me

Keith B. Parris

say that, you know, part of when I was talking to Annette, part of it is there is a part of this thing where, you know, we talk about eschatology, right?

But there's a part of it where we're talking about what happens after we die.

The question for me today is what should we do and why we're still living?

And that was, you know, because we were talking about the impact that Keon had, right?

That we're still talking about Keon, but Keon had great impact when he was living.

So is it really

about... Well, you know something, we got a way of adorning and loving the dead.

I go past some of these shrines on the street and they got...

But they couldn't be a dog.

But

Keith B. Parris

what I'm saying is that it is, and I know in many African cultures,

the fact that you're still referenced after you die says a lot about how you lived your life.

So how do people, how will people, how

Keith B. Parris

will people reference Meach after you, after you're dead and gone?

What would they be saying about Meach?

Because I think that's how when, when you, when, when you look at, and look man, long way from there, I mean, I'd like to believe that I've had positive impact in this world.

that the world is a little bit better because I'm not because I'm in it, but because of what I kind of bring to the table.

I like that's something that I really work hard on, you know, like you are at the salt of the earth.

You know, I mean, but I wonder sometimes because again, let

me ask you a question.

Are you working on a legacy that you could leave behind after you've gone?

Because for most of us, after about two or three months,

we become just a vape in the wind, you know?

I am.

I like to think

Keith B. Parris

that the impact that, and we all do, we have impact here, whether it's negative or positive or just neutral, you know, you just kind of hear, but I, so let me ask this question, if it's fair in terms of your, your practicing Christian, right?

Correct.

Okay.

So what would be if you, if you

What would be the essence of your belief and Christianity what what or your practice of Christianity?

Your

practice I mean

So morally, I try to live my life doing it the other way around.

Keith B. Parris

Is that what

Jesus taught?

Keith B. Parris

Yeah, of course.

Yes.

And I'm saying that sometimes we miss that.

You know, it's the ritual.

There's a number to do with that, though, brother.

That qualified, see, to use that right there, to use that moment to achieve heaven.

No,

Keith B. Parris

no, no, you know what?

No,

no, you

need to go

to

Keith B. Parris

you need to go to you need to go to you need to go to go to the 25th chapter of Matthew and see what Jesus says about how you will receive eternal life.

Have

you

Keith B. Parris

have you read?

Have you read Matthew 25?

No,

no,

Keith B. Parris

no, no, that's Matthew either 2728 no Well, there he uses the analogy There was this this person who had gone to the master and It goes on to all these things, you know You know, that's the famously where it talks about I know you not, you know, because

Here's how you achieve eternal life, that you do good to others, you visit the sick, you provide food to the hungry, clothes to the naked, shelters to the

homeless.

Right, because

Keith B. Parris

those things that he listed.

So are you making the argument?

that you could just do the incantation and say, I believe that Jesus died for my sins and that's going to get me into heaven.

I don't have to do any good

because I did that incantation.

No, that's the gladi-gradic group.

No, that's the gladi-gradic group.

That don't work like that

Keith B. Parris

either.

I

think they got

Keith B. Parris

a better chance of getting into heaven than some Christians who are not better

people.

If they don't add the other component, it's all in line.

No, no, no, no, no, Jesus, that's not what Jesus

Keith B. Parris

said.

That's not what Jesus said.

I'm only going on what Jesus said.

Hold on, hold on, brother, brother, brother, brother.

Go ahead on and play those games with yourself, but you understand what I'm saying.

Keith B. Parris

No, I don't understand what you're saying.

I disagree with what

you're saying.

I can't make it no clearer that you can be morally straight.

You're supposed to be morally

Keith B. Parris

straight if you're a Christian.

I can't hear you.

You heard everything else with that.

You're supposed to be morally straight

if you're a Christian.

How you gonna go to hell if you do all the do the right things?

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to

hell.

I'm trying to figure

out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to figure

out

how you go

Keith B. Parris

to hell.

I'm trying to figure out how you go to hell.

I'm trying to

figure

Keith B. Parris

out how you go to hell

I'm going on what Jesus said.

Let's talk about what Jesus said.

We should always start with what Jesus said.

Is that what Jesus said?

Can you pull it up

for the discussion we have so we can get.

Okay.

Well, I just want to know brother preacher.

No.

Is that what Jesus said?

What you're saying?

I understand what Jesus said, but the other Jesus wasn't yet crucified yet.

He hadn't been crucified in ways yet.

Keith B. Parris

Okay.

All right, man.

I know what he said.

The brother, he hasn't yet been crucified to add the component that makes our religion hated.

Do you understand why they hate Christianity?

Yeah,

Keith B. Parris

because white Christians have gone throughout the world and they have congregations in the name of Jesus.

They have taken resources.

They have enslaved people.

So yeah, there's some people who might have a problem with Christianity.

America is a

Keith B. Parris

pluralistic country when it comes to religion

you don't come in and have prayer five times a day with a big one.

Some people aren't even supposed to be coming into a classroom every day.

One time a day.

I was shut down.

Okay.

Appreciate you.

It wasn't something everybody would have was shut down.

If we, if we were downtown in California, Johnson said, just as a mayor, we want to have a Christian prayer five times a day where you give it about two, three weeks.

Keith B. Parris

Keith B. Parris

No.

Oh, okay, because he told me to hang on.

Oh,

Keith B. Parris

okay.

Keith B. Parris

One year old wouldn't know how to lie because one year old can't

talk.

I'd say yes and no and all that.

Did you do that?

Keith B. Parris

Wait, I'm just saying one year olds can't talk.

George, I don't know where.

George,

Keith B. Parris

hold on, about 18 months, usually when kids start speaking.

George, I know exactly where you were going and

I got to

stop you.

Okay, thank you because

he's

like to play these little edit dash.

Even if they don't talk, they're saying, uh, uh, no,

Keith B. Parris

no, no, no.

One year old doesn't their

brain is not

Keith B. Parris

well, not a

one year old.

So let's say it to you.

Let's say they're just still learning how to talk.

But again, Keith, your parent has asked you, did you touch that?

Did you do that?

And you said, no, just out of your instinct.

because

Keith B. Parris

maybe that's one of the things that we shouldn't do is ask a kid what would be a rhetorical question.

You knew he touched it.

Well, again, so why are you asking?

Well, because you gave the example.

I don't

fear.

So again, but lying is something that's taught.

Yes, it is.

No, it's not.

Yes, it is.

Because nobody taught

Keith B. Parris

them to say that.

But fear.

Again, even with fear, fear is not taught to you.

Well, fear is something

Keith B. Parris

that is part of our instinct because of our survival.

We put lying because it's part of the Big Ten.

We put lying in, but you know, I gave examples.

There are times when you should lie, right?

If you sit up here telling, like you, but people sit up here going like, and the example I always give, I used to give it with Keon, and he, of course, he just taken us to Keon.

If people come looking for me, and they say they're gonna kill me, and you know where I am, should you tell them where I am?

You know what?

No.

That is correct.

But however.

So what I'm saying is so when we do things like you lying or you I mean it becomes more and again that then becomes because the 10 commandments were put in place because they were forming a society you need rules.

You do not have rules.

You have anarchy.

You have chaos.

So rules are there

to make sure that satiety runs fairly smoothly.

Now, people violate the rules every day.

But the vast

majority of people follow the rules.

Right.

Now, you asking that question is a tough situation, because for those people that might have a real relationship with God, and I get it, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a-

And for people like myself, you know, it's a, it's a hypothetical situation.

I love that.

For us real Christians.

For the real believers.

And we started off with

Keith B. Parris

a questioning, and whether or not, oh, here I'm preaching, whether or not we, you know, we should question God.

Or can we question God?

And then Meach said, what gives you to make the question God?

We question God since the beginning.

Well, I mean, and I don't, and again, I can't speak for God.

but I don't think God is going to be offended because I asked

God a question.

I believe that it's okay to ask God a question.

The problem becomes when you feel like God is supposed to give you an answer when you want the answer.

Keith B. Parris

Why would I ask the question?

Because you want to answer.

Keith B. Parris

Even though you're asking me it ain't gonna change the fact that I told you something or I or I allowed something to happen now wait for me to respond because I am all money I am And that's all I gotta say doc I am So by having the name of I am you do what you want you can respond whenever you want and you just gotta wait for his response

So

Keith B. Parris

there's

no problem with questioning guy.

Okay.

Keith B. Parris

I think

the problem

Keith B. Parris

is that's where I think that was response Who's mine or hers?

No I'm not doing this

Jack

And take this collar.

So we

go

and

break.

Good morning, gentlemen.

You know, in Abraham, Abraham and Sarah tried to help God.

OK, that's one thing when you pray and you don't answer right away.

Yeah,

he got a

point.

You know, you can put yourself, but you keep it easy.

If you want to shut up, they would have never knew.

Yep.

Yep.

We put ourselves in situations trying

to look neat.

Yep.

But see, God's anointed.

We don't need to help us.

So join us.

We don't need God to help us, so join us.

And you have no, there's no need for us to

try.

Yep.

Like what?

Give

me an example

Keith B. Parris

of

that.

Give me an

Keith B. Parris

example of something we asked today not business.

Let me

Keith B. Parris

ask you a question then.

Did he come to you as a preacher, pastor?

Yeah.

And you know that you, if he comes to you, there's the saying called the sanctity of the confession.

Yes, I do not have to say anything.

I

couldn't let go

Keith B. Parris

off.

No,

I

Keith B. Parris

mean, no, I'm saying that you can't then call the police unless you think he's going to be a danger to somebody

else.

Someone else.

Right.

Right.

But you can be,

Keith B. Parris

you can literally be sued.

Exactly.

If he comes to

Keith B. Parris

you as a clergy.

And

Keith B. Parris

make a confession to you as clergy now again the exception to that is child abuse But no, I mean that there are people that's the thing with priests that a lot of times they hear Confessions of people doing some God awful things wait a minute and they're not and no and this protect No, no, it's protected.

So

protect it.

So what about this whole?

Therapist that's the main thing so with the guy what but the guy from the radio station

that told his therapist, all of the stuff he was doing and having thoughts about kids, she turned them in.

Right, because when it comes to kids,

Keith B. Parris

that's the exception.

Oh,

okay.

And remember

Keith B. Parris

with the Menendez brothers,

they were trying to

Keith B. Parris

get their confessions that they had, there was tapes out there where one of them had confessed to the killings.

Right.

And whether or

Keith B. Parris

not that would be admissible or not, because that's the, it's funny, man, because a lot of people

They don't understand and we always put that whole sanctity of the confessionary with Catholics.

No, it's any clergy.

Any

Keith B. Parris

clergy.

You know what, when people come to you, they say, you know, but the Bible also says something, you confess one to another, something, God is praying leave it there.

Deplication is a monster.

Keith B. Parris

Right.

So it's

Keith B. Parris

like, it's like I come to you and I confess that I'm cheating on my wife.

Then I have a responsibility to be a reporter,

right?

Well, you know

Keith B. Parris

what that is right because in the marriage

possession is nine tenths of the law.

So it's whoever has that child at that time, which is kind of a weird piece.

But it'll

be up to the court to decide where that child

Keith B. Parris

will be after that.

Right.

So

back to what we said, I'm going to let you go.

Keith B. Parris

Yes, sir.

Shoulder purse.

Always open that mouth when somebody is talking to them about situations.

Nope.

Don't always know.

and that you might be married.

And I'm excited that you might be married.

It's something you don't want to tell your wife.

And it ain't to hurt her because she might have a spin and happy trade situation.

God might just get you another 50,000 to put over here for a rainy day for her.

And if she knows it's there, guess what she's going to

Keith B. Parris

do?

Hey, man, I think you're getting up in people's videos.

All right, we're listening to the video.

Did you notice my silence on all of that?

Did you hear the crickets over here on my side?

What about what he

Keith B. Parris

said?

I didn't hear nothing he said.

But I had asked a question earlier.

Are there secrets, are secrets about marriages?

And that's, you know.

That's about doing the right thing for your future.

Keith B. Parris

You call it what you want to call it.

All right.

Here's a secret.

It's like what the beach said that you want the question.

It was a petition for a question.

Like, okay.

Appreciate you, man.

You listen to community wisdom.

Call us to

you.

I'm gonna get you when we get back.

We'll be right back.

you are in news.

President Trump is calling for a federal action against a journalist over one sentence about his political record.

NBC's read the press.

My way to Krista Welker was discussing Trump's endorsement in Republican primaries when she said

Should the president be able to call on a third

regulatory agency to punish a journalist over a characterization of his political record.

And about free speech, the FCC's authority over broadcast journalism is limited, and the first amendment sharply restricts the government interference with editorial decisions.

This morning, it is the first day of school for most kids in southeast Wisconsin, including MPS.

However, things will look very different for students at Lincoln Avenue School after the school was destroyed in a fire.

Students are now attending Pulaski High School, which is located about a mile and a half away.

Also, police will only use the cameras to investigate various crimes like shootings, robberies, and attacks.

A new video shows the moment someone turned into a stolen problem.

The gallery owner says this was stolen right off of the gallery wall and it was stolen back in 2018.

In 2024, large rates jumped nearly 60% above their three-year average.

You're inside Community Voice on WNOV 860 AM and 106.5 FM with your host, Keith Parris.

Keith B. Parris

Hi, welcome back.

Caller, welcome to the program.

Good morning.

Good morning.

Keith B. Parris

How are you?

Thank you.

I would like to answer your question if you're opposed earlier.

Keith B. Parris

No, you make a good point.

I mean, you

know,

Keith B. Parris

so what do you do?

You adapt to survive.

We saw a little heliomont is a little iguana.

But I appreciate

you.

Keith B. Parris

Thank you for your opportunity.

You got another

Keith B. Parris

question.

And I agree with

Keith B. Parris

you on that.

All right.

Cause I know how to push the button now.

Call and roll to the program.

Go push the

button.

I know you pressed, I know you pressed for time cause it's Tuesday, but I want to, I want to do what you do.

Then you reverse stuff on people cause you always ask me that question.

And I'm going to hang up the list to see what your answer is.

What did the Africans do for God to be, for God to allow them to be completed slavery?

And I'm going to hang up.

I'm going to listen to see what your answer is.

Keith B. Parris

Thank you.
