whatever the case is and the reason why it's something wrong is because it's division. It's targeted on us. It's division amongst the community. When I say us, I say the community as a whole, white, black, Mexican, whatever, red, green, and the division is what's causing all of these issues. So, yeah, yeah, that, that.

You know, there's possibility and probability. Don't know. I think it's a turnout election. I think that if people

get so frustrated because they're listening to the background noise, they might decide I'm not going to vote, which is if you're a Democrat, not voting is a vote for Republicans. So I think it's a long time and a short time between August 12th and was it November 7th? So we'll see. I mean, she's not wrong on the issues. I don't think she's wrong on the issues. I just think it's perception.

And for a lot of people, perception is reality. Well, I would just like to say to the young people, don't listen to your old, crazy uncle who fought in Korea and Vietnam. Yeah, I mean we benefit from socialism and Again, but you know people will hear certain things because the them socialism is communism and here's the thing about MAGA supporters MAGA supporters one of the things that Motivates them is the fear that someone is coming to take something from them That's one of the fears that they that you know that they put out there with people and look man people use fear in politics. I wish I

that wasn't the case, but we do do. I mean, and I'm sure you're going to use it on a dim side when people are saying I'm concerned about if Tom Tiffany is elected governor, you know, and so what that might mean. So fear, alarm, concern, I don't know what words you might want to use. But yeah, I also do something I got to get with station management.

I want to do a giveaway. And so I need to get their approval on it. But we're going to be very consistent when we use Wednesday's word. And then maybe on Friday, asking someone if they were listening what we talked about as it relates to a word that we used on Wednesday. Wow, man, we were sleeping on National Black Folding Cheer Day. And I saw it last night, like, dude, how did this get past me?

But it was one of the funniest moments ever. You know, it's like there's so few instances that we see where there's kind of a fight back in real time. And just so people may or may not know what we're talking about, there was a boat launch down in Alabama. The guy who was over the launch wanted these white folks on their pontoon boat to move their boat so the ferry could dock.

And they refused. And so then they got into a physical altercation. So the brother picked up a folding chair to defend himself. But then I don't know who did the hoodie who, but black folks was coming from everywhere. Oh, man. And then when the woman got knocked down.

oh man that was just like yeah okay don't don't write a check with your mouth your body can't cash right so man that was that was crazy it was a great day for us and we celebrated here you know because after a while you know you just get sick and tired of being sick and tired you know and people try to violate your humanity every day it's like you know you just get to a point

and for all these folks out here, why are you guys so sensitive? I wish things had changed to the point that this is not an issue, but it really is, and that's a great segue into all you brothers, and I'm sounding like Michelle now, all you bros out there who were justifying your vote for Donald Trump, all you brothers, let me read a little something for you.

And his policies are not just hurting black males. His policy, economic policies, is hurting everybody. But yet he's enriching himself. That ain't cool. That's so foul. I always say that when he got elected, I say he gonna bezel so much money from the United States, it's gonna be ridiculous.

Oh my god. I mean, but he is the government. Y'all help me. Yeah. How you sue yourself? And that's what the judge was going like. Well, this is so ridiculous on his on his face. Well, why are they letting him dead? See, but it's ridiculous. See, but it's like almost like taking money out to right pocket and putting it in your left. So that's what he's doing. He's he's suing himself so he's not losing. He's taking it from his right pocket and putting it in his left pocket.

for you folks from the Middle East and Michigan, who you just thought that Kamala Harris would be so much worse on Palestine than Donald Trump. How about that one? Yeah. And then for you Latinos who set up and thought like, oh, yeah, he wasn't talking about me on to come to find out. Yes, he was talking about you for you black men primarily who supported him.

Look, I mean, because if Black folks are sitting up here thinking that somehow everybody's just going to turn around and start loving Black people, you're wrong. Pastor Keith Evans, who will be stepping away. I always get confused. I know I'm part of one of the conventions. That's the thing about Baptist, right? So anyway, I would love to have a conversation with them in terms of how they see what their administrations were, what they were able to accomplish, what the future looks like. his valedictorian address there. So is Fred Jones still the pastor at Canaan? He's still pastor at Canaan, yeah. Wow. Yeah, man, I used to play for Canaan years ago, man. I had family there. That's the church my mom. Well, my mom left Calvary when she turned 18 and joined Canaan. And then when Reverend E. M. Kelly

uh, left Canaan to become the pastor of Metropolitan. My mom went to Metropolitan with him. And so, um, that's how we kind of find ourselves. Our great tradition is Baptist. Um, you know, I was talking to a friend of mine and I asked the question, um, will we see the on the state level Baptist conventions come together? A lot of states you go to, they might have one, two different.

Then he's letting on like this wasn't just spontaneously. This was very well organized when these people got to The nation's capital and then attacked the capital The fact that he pardoned most of them commuted their sentences then set up a fun the woman who was Who was shot and killed trying to enter the house of representatives? Where they I think that family settled for three million dollars like it was a wrongful death

Like it just amazes me the things that they right out talked about, you know, where you have a party that's against LGBTQ, but whenever they go and do the National Convention, they blow an up grinder. They shut that down. I mean, it's, I don't, I don't, that's a hard one. You know, to, to tell people that they should do something or should not do something that in fact you're doing, that that is hypocrisy.

And I just don't know how that's able to fly, where you criticize people for certain things, and you're guilty of it of yourself. They went after Plattener in May. And Plattener, just in case you don't know, was going to be the presumptive Democratic nominee to run against Susan Collins, who was a Republican. All right. I'll pull that out.

They called it early because I was just at a fix. But I went back after my treatment and I'm down to a two. And that's so PSA number? I go back in October for my second evaluation and seeing it open and see if it's going to go lower. So that has some good news for us. Is that a two? It's hard to hear you key. I didn't hear you, so I'm gonna bring this phone so I don't really know how to work her phone, but I can't hear you. And if I turn up my phone while I got you on YouTube, it's hard to talk back and put up to you. So I just wanted to put that in the, and you said you wanted some good news, because when you, when you're going through that, it's kind of a scary situation. And I'm gonna tell you, one of the brothers that encouraged me, he may not even remember this, was right out.

He had came on the on the Friday show and gave an excellent testimony. But there were other times where I'm thinking to myself, you know, I would have fired me.

I'm like, Craig, I didn't get fired up by day off. You get fired on your day off, right? No, man. I mean, but think about it. That's how life is, right? There's some situations where there should have been negative consequences and they weren't, right? And then you have other situations where there were never.

There shouldn't have been negative kind maybe that's that's the balance in the universe. I don't know But yeah, man, it's never easy Here's my favorite way of fighting firing you they don't invite you back I Did

friend of mine from high school, you know, because I run my mouth. She thought, hey, you know what? Keith would be good as a fashion show commentator, you know, because I run my mouth from a preacher. Man, I could do that. That's hard. I'm going to tell you, being a fashion show commentator is hard. And so, you know, you can make it back. But this is this is real funny, right? So she never called and said, hey, Keith, we're going to go a different direction.

or nothing. I got crickets. So one day I bumped into somebody. They said, were you at such and such? You know, such and such had a fashion show. I go, she did. I said, hey, hey, not that you shouldn't have fired me. She said, I didn't fire you. So yeah, well, you have a fashion show and I don't come back.

That's that's being fired. That's because I was killing a brand. She should have fired me. Look, so let me just. We went to another direction. Right. We would keep. There's a movie out there called European Road Trip. And this guy's girlfriend is kicking it with this dude. Everybody know but him. So they wrote a song, Scotty don't know. They're going to try to sabotage what you do. You know, I mean, they're going to snitch on you. I mean, it, you know, workplace can be a pretty brutal environment. But no, man, I mean, it's just like I get, you know, so if. So if. Because I had, I had, I had, I had, I had, I was working with time I had all my work.

right and I know this one lady didn't like right I did all my work so she didn't know I did all my work she thought I came in there and just walk around man she went back and told told the manager I ain't did this and did that and he called me in the office I said man did you go look in the cooler just because she didn't see it that don't mean I didn't do it mm-hmm and he like we went in there he looked

Came back out He said you man just go back to work just act like you're doing something so she don't so so that she don't keep Running back and telling me that you're not doing nothing. Do what? Yeah, I did I really felt guilty now. I had nothing to do with

had no control over the reason why that person was let go. It's a political decision. And in government, that's what happens once you get to a certain level. It becomes political, especially if you're at will employee. That means that you're not protected by civil service. You work at the will of the appointing authority, which could be the county executive, which could be the mayor. And so you don't get the same civil service protection.

that one would get. Because I don't have people jobs to let me go because my pay rate was getting high. Oh, corporations do that all the time. When they're downsizing, they take the most senior staff because they're paying them the most. You're going to bring somebody in who's going to be at a different level of pay, right? And like I said, it has nothing to do with performance. It's just the business, you know, where

people will go in and and we see it with mergers and and things like that. So and and I never understood that because the pay rate my pay rate didn't get higher. You want to get rid of you know I mean to me that's just like you should keep the person that actually doing good and then get rid of but they'll never get rid of the one that had the most absences. Well you know that's the number one reason for termination at the county.

That's the easiest one to prove. Either you're there or you're not. And now with you checking in, signing in, they know if you're late. The work rules clearly say for the county that you should be at your desk and talk about people doing that kind of work. At your desk, prepare to work at your start time so you don't walk in the door at eight o'clock punching in.

at eight. You're supposed to be at your desk ready to work at eight. People running, getting donuts and doing, especially if you're doing something like a call center where you have specific times. If we open the call center at eight, people should be prepared to take calls at eight. And that's a hard one for people because what we do is like water will seek a natural level.

Um, I was talking to someone and I was saying that maybe the average employee is working at 70% capacity. Okay. You know, I mean, that's saying on average, there's some people who are at a higher percentage. Some people at a lower percentage. You kind of average it out. So it is not like.

Because people figure out now when you first get there, you're on probation. Oh, you turn in the workout because you're trying to make sure. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You know, people get in, you know, after that, you know, and you got a little seniority or you got some union protection that it becomes very different. And that that always seemed to be because my bottom line as a manager was there were numbers that we had to hit. And how do we get to these numbers?

if you're looking at employees. And here's how I feel about it. Let's just keep one black man's opinion, right? I knew how much they'd pay me when I accepted the job. So I'm not tripping when I get in and this is what I'm getting paid and this is the amount of work, right? I mean, I knew that coming in the door. And so, you know, that was the agreement. The agreement was this is what they're gonna pay me. I do the work.

Now, if I have a problem with that, then I need to find a job that pays me more money. But just tripping on what they pay me when I come in the door, I knew this is what they were going to pay me. And I knew, or I should have known, this is what the work entails. So yeah, it's one of those things, man. 414-444-525-0. 414-444.

authentically in in any area of the country and how they actually can come together and you can actually understand it without not necessarily understand the language in dance and in just the artistry alone you know from rap to blues to rock you know all those genres of music the errors of music the changing in in the style the way music is being brought

All of those things came in full circle in that movie. And I thought that was, I thought there was pretty much an awesome scene in it. That was just crazy. And it's funny because in some countries, the only English they speak are songs. Yep. Right. And I think they show that in dance. Right. They show something similar to that. Yeah. Were you able, because it's universal. And then it also just talks about just the impact of

of descendants of African slaves here in North America, just the impact we've had culturally on the world. Yeah, it showed it all. Yep. So I always ask, what can people expect when they come to hear Carlyse Guy in the new blue band? You know, I think

I think for us because it's an experience for us you know connected with the audience it's always to me just a really good experience of vibe love and music just being able to connect with one another while we're doing the performer while we're singing our songs we're actually doing a lot more original music now which has been received very well um so we're hoping we get the same thing in Milwaukee this time we were there um was it a couple of weeks ago

I saw my boy back there having a little snack earlier today too. The first time I chimed in.

And I understand loyalty, I think it does allow you to go a lot further in whatever it is that passion is, whether it's singing, comedic or dance, any type of entertainment. If the talent is there and that's where God intends for you to go and use that talent, I don't think anything can hold you back. So when you say the cream rises to the top, I think

His cup is big enough for if it's your cream and it's your time to rise. That's where you're gonna be at the time I thought about that in terms of I don't know if you've seen the the documentary on earth went in fire No, I haven't oh man, it's incredible. It's incredible And they talk about them doing a show they went to DC and I'm gonna say is tough Okay DC's like New York

You know, like, right? And it's tough. And no, they were Baltimore. They were Baltimore. And they said that they went out, they did the little set, you know, they brought their Earth, Wind and Fire piece, you know, California band, the whole piece. The door opened and they could hear boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. He said, the smoke comes out and it's probably a psychedelic, right? They rocked the house. But here's what I'm getting to in this.

He said they made up their mind. They went back to California and they started working. They work that much harder. That's what I'm saying. When you see exactly, that's what I mean about it. And then that's because that'll bring out the best in you. That's right. That's right. You know, you want if you're a basketball player, you want to play against the best competition because that brings out the best in you. Yes, sir. And that's why I was asking that question. Well, you know what? It's funny. We said one thing I can say that I'm learning, especially about the blues community.

You know, we've got some growing to do. I think it's harder for women because the blues community is very male dominant. And I think that's why you only hear about a handful of females. We lost her. Yeah, we lost her. Yeah, we can we can pick that up. Yes, sir.

Yes, but I wanted to add to that. We actually initiated the Summer Series with New Blue and Carly's guy. We initially started, Mr. Kearney wanted to, he wanted there to be a Blues, he wanted the Summer Series to have the foundation of the Blues and the Jazz. And he wanted the best Blues that he could find, which was Buddy Guy. So we chose to go to Buddy Guy's club.

And by the grace of God, we were able to build a relationship with Carlyse and Mark Maddox. Shout out to Mark because we booked all of our headliners that aren't hometown bands. We booked them through Mark Maddox, which is the lead guitarist for New Blue Band. So we initially started that relationship with Carlyse and Mark. And that was the initial start of the summer series. So five years later, they performed. This is their fifth time performing with us. We love them. The city loves them.

the level of professionalism that they bring. Their show is always so different in the energy, so electric and so genuine. It's a very good show. So anyone that's listening right now coming out this week to see not just Joe Jordan and Brittnicole and Mario Brown, but coming to see New Blue and Carly's guy, I'm telling you, you're gonna leave very happy.

But I went back after my treatment and I'm down to a two.

And that's so PSA number?

I go back in October for my second evaluation and seeing it open and see if it's going to go lower.

So that has some good news for us.
