Starting off this hour of Civic Media Spotlight, Maino & the Mayor is joined by Andy Vanhandel from Freedom Freefall. This organization takes veterans up to parachute. The hour starts off with more details on a Freedom Freefall event coming up in Pulaski.
After that, Dr. Tim Slekar and Teacher Hallie tackle the significance of Juneteenth in today's educational landscape. They explore whether schools in 2024 would acknowledge Juneteenth as a holiday and delve into the broader implications of teaching this critical part of American history.
Then on Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba, music duo Amile and Jon (7000apart) join in-studio. Amile and Jon talk about their time touring in Sweden and now coming back to Wisconsin to tour for the summer. 7000apart play a song titled "Side," live in-studio. Pete asks 7000apart their favorite places they have played at.
To finish off the week, the John & Gordy Show welcome local musical artist, Art Paul Schlosser to the Mad Radio 92.7 Studios to have a morning conversation about his music and performing around Madison.
