From the Civic Media Radio Network, moving Wisconsin forward one joke at a time.
This is As Goes Wisconsin with Kristen Brott, now building in for the new mom, here's Jane
Matt Nair. Good morning and welcome to As Goes Wisconsin. Thank you so much for joining us today.
Greg Bach is with me. Carol Kane is here in studio. Galen is on the board and you can always
check in at eight four four nine six seven two seven eight nine eight four four nine six party.
Thank you, Greg Bach. If you're watching on the live stream on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter,
you can also leave comments there as well. Lots of things to get to and a couple breaking news
items that we're gonna start off with. First of all, the first woman to ever serve on the US Supreme
Court Sandra Day O'Connor has passed away at the age of 93 and associate justice of the Supreme
Court from 81 to 2006. She was the first woman to serve as a US Supreme Court justice. A moderate
conservative she was considered Sandra Day O'Connor is gone at the age of 93. Well, she certainly was
a trailblazer. Absolutely. I mean, she, she, she really made judgments on some really unbelievable
cases, you know, including abortion and a couple other ones. I mean, she wasn't moderate
conservative. No doubt Reagan nominated her and she got in. But she's, you know, you've got
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Amy Connie Barrett, and sorry, my voice is bad,
guys. And Brown Jackson, they've all been able to come in since she broke that barrier. And it's
taken it's taken some time. It's taken a time to get there. But yeah, she was she was groundbreaking.
She was a trailblazer. So rest in peace, Sandra Day O'Connor, the first woman on the US Supreme
Court is gone at the age of 93. And you know, and I got to give her credit because she was diagnosed
with dementia. And that's what ultimately took her life when she got the diagnosis and she realized
that she was going to be compromised. She pulled herself out. She was like, I can't be in public
life anymore. And you know, sometimes I think that's really hard for people to do absolutely.
I mean, we got a bunch of them on Capitol Hill that we I would be happy to have them do the same
call call turn thing, you know, but she was smart enough to go, I'm not capable. I'm not capable.
And there is a certain confidence to be able to do that and come forward in public and say,
here's the situation. I wish I could stay, but I think for the good of the country, I need to
step down. Right. I think that's very honorable. I do too. And it is patriotic. It is patriotic.
And it's doing the right thing. And you wonder, it's a whole different day and age now.
Oh, yeah, as far as standards. And what did Mark, Mark Twain say? His famous quote was, it's not
a bad thing to do the, it's not a hard thing to do the right thing. And Twain say that. I think
you did. Possibly. Let's say yes. I mean, because honestly, I mean, that that idea of being
patriotic and knowing when to leave brings us into our other piece of breaking news of someone
who didn't want to leave. Yeah. And refused to leave this just happened right before we came
on the air. Congress has voted to expel New York Republican representative George Santos
after 23 felony charges for identity theft and fraud and revelations about a lifetime of cons
covered up during his congressional campaign. I thought it was funny last night on the national
news, because I had never seen them do the laundry list of the stuff. Oh, that he's accused. Oh,
it's incredible. I was sitting there with my hot toddy. And I was like, uh, wow. Wow,
you know, it was like getting a headshot. Wow. Oh, wow. You got to be kidding me. I, I will say
this. And I told you this off the air before we got on the air. I'll give the dude credit and
to be able to, he was able to control that media yesterday morning, because it could have been
a melee. And I all started talking at once. And he's like, no, one at a time. And I kind of
looked at him and I was like, okay, that's something he does well. Well, you got, I got to find
something. No, he's trashed. He's terrible. It's amazing, because there is a fellow House
Republican. And I can't find his name right now, who actually wrote a letter to his fellow House
Republicans. After he and his mother's credit cards were charged without permission by the
George Santos campaign. It's just criminal to it. Like it's, it's, it, it, like it's all these
different. Like, no, you got ethical problems. You got crime problem. Everything get out of
that building and don't let the door hit you where the good Lord. But you know what's amazing
is he would still be eligible to be speaker of the House. Well, all of us are.
But I find that remarkable that we can expel you as a House member on ethical considerations.
But you know what? You could still be speaker. Well, let's just establish that's not going to
happen. But I never say never, Carol. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I can't imagine.
Knock it down. Yep. Um, oh, if I remember too, I was the one that said that they would not
let the government stall. Oh, I think I was right on that one. So maybe I'm right on this one.
They want to continue resolution. Come on. I'm taking it where I can get it. Yeah, I think it,
well, no, I think I don't, I don't know. Will they let the government shut down? No, I think
they'll just see art until they, until they, they, till something happens, you know, to look
out jumps over the moon. Yeah, because at this point, the Republicans have had to learn that every
time this happens, it happens, no matter who the president is, it happens on their watch,
and they always look terrible, always look terrible when it shuts down. And I think this was an
easy pick for the Republicans to, oh, I did too. Because he's new, he's brash. He hasn't,
he has no power. He can go ahead and we talked about, I think we talked about this yesterday,
he can go ahead and write a book saying, this is what I saw in Congress. They'll be like,
he's a liar. We know he's a liar. So good luck with that one. He'll, he'll, he'll get some,
he'll become a pundit on Newsmax. He'll be their diversity. They'll be happy with themselves.
And he will write a book. You know, that's a really good point because I thought the one thing
that I was excited about upon his, his potential expulsion was that he's going to start dropping
names. Yeah. And he's made, he's made all these allegations now about other members of Congress.
And being invited, no, there was Madison, Catherine, who said he was invited to a bunch of
orgies, but alleging that fellow House members are criminals and adulterers and all these other
things. Yeah. Yeah. But you're right. Now they can completely discount anything he comes out with
by saying, he's a liar. And he's an established liar. Yeah. Well, and because he's a liar,
he's going to grasp for any life, any lifeline, any, any lifeline he can. Yep.
You know, I just, I'm with you Greg in the fact that he's definitely, I don't know if he'll
be become a pundit. I don't know. But the book thing, he's probably already got 10 offers.
Oh, absolutely. Yeah. I mean, people know where their money is made. And it's going to be a
salacious book, whether it's true or not, that doesn't, that never matters. He'll write a book
and he'll be on the cover and he'll do the, he'll do the Sunday shows and he'll get all the attention.
I mean, he's getting exactly what he wants, which is attention. He's getting the attention.
You know what? When I was watching the, uh, the media conference yesterday morning,
and you had, he had like his people standing behind him and they're like shaking their head,
yes, with everything he said. I'm like, where do you guys, what hold did you guys crawl out of?
Where did you guys come from? But you have this undying allegiance to the
well, but it's about self protection. Yeah. I think his supporters are like, well,
I got a whole bunch of stuff in my closet. And if this ever comes out, I don't want them
pushing me out before I, before I actually go to trial. We all have a past. Of course,
we do. We all have a past. Yes, we do. But some are a little bit more egregious than others.
Yeah. Plus, plus people like that can always find individuals who will be like, yes,
whatever you need. If I can get paid, am I going to get attention? Am I going to, but here's
this is what I'll say. In this day and age we live in, it is December the 1st, 2023 in 10,
within 10 years, I bet you he tries to run again as a transform person. Like, I've seen the errors
of my way. I found Jesus. I have, you know, a children that like, and, and if I don't think it'll
be 10 years, no, I'm saying within 10 years. I'm saying within 10 years. I'm giving him a couple.
Yeah. But yeah, he'll, he'll, he'll reinvent himself. He'll reboot himself like a DC movie.
And people will be like, Oh, I totally forgot that the first reboot of Spider-Man sucked.
By the way, I don't, I know that was Marvel, not DC. So don't at me. Listeners.
If you're just joining us, I'm very surprised by this George Santos Republican representative
from New York, former former has been expelled from Congress. After the vote today,
the final vote to expel 310 to 114 105 Republicans voted to expel him. And again,
long list of 23 felony charges. The ethics committee found that he violated campaign finance laws
by pocketing donor money, shelling out on Botox and clothes and subscriptions and subscriptions
to only fans. It's amazing. It is amazing. It's pretty impressive. I mean, honestly, as you know,
that you just keep swinging at it. And yeah, you know, I, I, I, I'm an individual. I know right
from wrong. I know right from wrong. And if I get called on a wrong, you got to own it. I don't
care what it is. You got to own it. You got caught cheating on your wife. You got to own it. You
get caught stealing donor money. You got to own it. And I don't understand that home. It's
psychotic. It's, it's sociopathic. I, I just don't understand how a mind like that works. But I
really don't. I think that this is a growing problem in that it's denied and I deny. I got caught
doing something that was naughty. I didn't do it. If I, if I did do it, then it was okay that I
did it. You can't do it, but I can do it. I, I think that that is a whole way of, I think that
defending yourself now is just denied, double down on the denial. I think it crosses out. I mean,
it's across the board with people, just people, period. Yeah. So I, I, if I do something wrong,
I admit it. If I don't know something, I say I don't know. It just makes life easier. It does.
I mean, it really does. I mean, that great. Do I, am I doing things wrong to the degree of
these people in Washington? Absolutely not. But yeah, I just, I don't know. I mean, because there,
because there are no consequences for those into powerful and rich, there's no consequences.
Even if you say I did it, you guys to be like, I did it, but it's your fault that I did it.
And then I'm going to go away. I'm going to go make my money and I'll see you in a couple of
years because I get to come back because it does, because you all have a short memory and you're
going to be entertained. And we do have terribly short memories. Absolutely. We really did.
Are you surprised by this? George Santos is out 844-967-2789. Stay close. You're listening to Asgo's
Wisconsin on the Civic Media Radio Network.
Good morning and welcome. Welcome. Welcome to Asgo's Wisconsin. Good morning. If you are
listening in Warsaw on both Falls Radio WXCO or in Green Bay on the talk of the North WGBW.
Jane McNair in for Kristen, Brian, Carol, Ken and Greg Bach with me in studio. Galvin is on the
board and you can always join us at 844-967-2789-844-968. We were just talking about the breaking
news Republican representative from New York, George Santos. All around good guy.
Oh yeah. He's out as a member of Congress. Are you surprised? I was surprised. I'm not. I was
surprised. I was I feel like he was he was the perfect staff sacrificial lamb because now they
can they can say we did this. We hold ourselves to a higher standard. Greg, how do you call him
a sacrificial lamb? This is a bed he made for himself. There's there's like I go back to
there's a right and a wrong and I think that they finally came to realize this guy's got to go.
He's given our party a super black eye. I understand, but that's my point exactly. He is so
young in the position. That's easy to get rid of him. If this was a sitting Congressman who had
powerful friends, I disagree. You think you think if Lindsey Graham did that, they wouldn't they
wouldn't protect him? No, I think that if you have a list, a litany, a list of what he's got.
Donald Trump. Thank you. I was just going to say that 91 indictments for Donald Trump and people
in that in that building are protecting him like their lives because it does because if he goes
their primary, they're gone. See, I you guys, I I'm just not in the same camp with you. Just in the
fact that I think you think they see right from wrong. I'm saying right from wrong, but also at
the same time, he is charged. Let the judicial system play itself out. I'm not agreeing with what
he did. No, I don't think you are. No, I just think that we can't we we have to let the system play
itself out. I don't we're not disagreeing with you on that case. What I think we're disagreeing on
is the fact that, well, I think you're saying the sacrificial lamb. I think it was easy for them
to get rid of him because one, it distracts the media from what they're doing. And they get to
say we are the party of we we we we family values and accountability and blah blah blah. Meanwhile,
the head of our party is literally in court right now. And they're not going to do anything about
that too. They're not going to disavow him. They're not going to say we need a new leader. We need
somebody else. They're going to be like, nope, that's our guy. But the dude from New York,
who by the way, we weren't cool that he was gay, but you know, we'll try to be diverse and
whatnot. He's gone. Like I think it was such an easy decision for them to just I'm just disagreeing
with you at all. And I'm hoping to the dear Lord that people come to their senses when it comes
to the other dude. I really do. I mean, you know, I don't know how you can even not I couldn't go
into the ballot booth and put a check in his name to save my soul. I would feel dirty. I mean,
I would definitely feel dirty. But I know they're he's got legions. Yes, he does. Yes, he does.
844-967-2789. Karina from Milwaukee. Good morning, Karina. What do you think about George
Santos going? Bye-bye from Congress. Well, I think it's a good thing, but I actually do agree with
you guys that it was an easy decision. And he outleaves his use. They needed him for one more
voice to support on the bill and on the things that we're doing. And now he just cost
party more than that voice. And it's just economical. I just just don't know like calculation
wise decision. Because as you guys said, Trump, look at the Trump. Look at the half of party.
I mean, come on, a Trump bankrupt casino in Las Vegas or whatever it is. In Atlantic City.
Banker. Atlantic City. I mean, come on now. And everybody looking at him with the hopes
on ethnological and political regulations. He's for a political relationship with the half
of the world for America. And they still doing it because it has something there for them.
With Santos, they took all the benefits they came from this guy. And now they need to get rid
of it because of you said, Jim, it's a black eye. Yeah. Yeah. Your episode. Thank you so much,
Karina. I absolutely agree with you. He is. He outlived his usefulness. And the bad was outweighing
the good. The question I have is with a special election having to come up now, the only election.
I mean, probably a spring election. So it'll be well, I don't know, 90 days. I don't know how long
it between now and when they have to bring someone else in because I they has someone has to be
appointed to fill that seat. Right. I think 90 days. It's going to have a lot of attention. And
are the Democrats going to be able to run a candidate in that area who can win? I mean, he is
the Republicans, the GOP leaders in Washington have thrown him away and they can try to do their best
to wash the stain off the wall. But that district now, the GOP of that district, they have work to
do. They have to find a perfect candidate now, who is the opposite of George Santos, but also
not Donald Trump. And all this time are the Democrats going to, could the Democrats take that
district? Who knows? Interesting. We got a text from the 608 from Laura from Wisconsin Rapids.
I'm just waiting for Santos to spill all that tea. I think so too. Like we said before, I'm totally
waiting for the tea. I want it. I don't know how much I can believe, but it will be entertainment.
There is no question it will be entertaining. But as we've said before too now, no matter what
he comes out with and no matter what accusations he comes out with, he has such a long, long history
of being a fabulous and lying about his life and lying about his background. And we're, I mean,
from everything, from his origin story, his family, his college, his volleyball, his, it just goes on
and on. I think my favorite still is my mom died 9-11, but my mom's still alive. I mean, just
all how about no, nothing will beat the, well, I'm Jew-ish. Yeah. We got it. I can't even look
at you. What are you saying? We got a message on the live stream from Joseph McLaren. By the way,
I know it was Marvel, not DC Joe. Get over it. The Speaker of the House Johnson House majority
leaders, Scalise House Conference chair, Stefan, Stefanic, Stefanic, and all lobbied for everyone
to retain Santos and the majority of the public and still voted to host GOP in disarray. You know,
I mean, that's the thing is that's, that's the first kind of, that could be the first kind of big
fail for the Speaker of the House too. You know, you come, you come in at the country saying like,
what are your values? It's the Bible. Okay. Well, what? And you make this make sense then, Mikey.
Make it make sense. Well, in his, his honeymoon period is, is quickly coming to the end in the House
and he's what he's been there. What a month? Has it been six, six weeks? Yeah. We have more news about
my Johnson coming up. Also some naughty, naughty going on. Wow. That's all on the way. Brian from
I want to go if you can hang on through the news, we will be right back stick with us.
You're listening to Asgos Wisconsin on the Civic Media Radio Network.
Good morning. Welcome to Asgos Wisconsin, Jane Mattner, in for Kristen Brie. Greg Bach,
Geralt Kane with me in studio. Calvin's on the board. You can always join us at 844-967-2789-844-96
Party talking about breaking news this morning. George Santos, Republican from New York State out
after the vote this morning reports coming across my Twitter feed say a Wisconsin representatives
Brian style and Glenn Grossman voted with Democrats to expel George Santos. I'm trying to
track down the rest of our representatives see where their votes landed on this, but we're taking
your comments and Brian's been very patient for McGwanago. Good morning, Brian. What did you want to say?
Good morning. I just want to say that the only reason why they got rid of Santos is because
they couldn't control him anymore. They couldn't control and command him to vote their way
and any upcoming policy votes or whatever anymore. They weighed the risk of getting rid of them
with the fact that if whatever dirt he might be able to spill on them, no one's going to believe
because of how much of a chronic documented chronic liar this guy is. So they couldn't care less
about that. So that's why they got rid of them. They couldn't control them. They didn't
couldn't guarantee his vote. I understand where you're coming from on that one, Brian. And that
does make sense, but I disagree because they've protected bobert. They've protected green. They've
protected gates and gates has had an investigation into sex trafficking and none of them have lived
up to the high-minded family values that and I'm not saying you're wrong either. I just think that
if anything, this shows a clear inconsistency with them,
doing it, showing any action towards being the better of the two parties because those three
in are just, I mean, I mean, not to mention you got a guy like our very own third district
Derek Van Orten. He's no, he's no walk in the park either. Like he's just, you got all these people
in their party or just, but I think that happened. There are words I don't want to use.
Thank you for your call, Brian. And thank you for your patience. Really appreciate it.
Go ahead, Karen. I think there are bad apples on both sides of the fence to tell you the truth.
I'm not giving these guys a pass by any stretch of the imagination. But if you're going to put
the microscope on the Republican party, I think you got to put the microscope on the Democratic
party and start reading out some of the bad apples there. I don't have a problem with that. It's
just none of the battling. That's the problem is that the Democrats don't have people who are
like acting out as hard like these people are acting out like children. And they're making
easy to find them. If they're Democrats who are acting poorly, yes, find them, get them out of
there. Call them out. Okay. Yeah. Hold them the same. I get no problem with that. Then we're
on the same page on that just because I just don't think that you can just constantly say it's all
the Republican party that they're the bad ones. And it's like, you know, they're getting caught
and they're doing bad stuff. I'm not going to say no, but there's, you know, let's find that
there's something happening on the other side too. If it's happening on the, hey, Senator Bob
Menendez, yes, we've talked about him who was accused of acting for a foreign power. Absolutely,
get them out. I have absolutely no problem with that. Okay. I'm Joe McLear checking in again on
the stream. We're all hoping that DeSantis will will drop all the dirt now. And I think Joe's
got a really good point. I doubt Santos has any dirt. He was embroiled in scandal,
even before he even took his seat. He's going to make it up. Nobody was sharing his dirt,
their dirt with him. I'm sure it's not like on day one. He was given a list of who everyone
is sleeping with and where they get their drugs. I don't know. I've never seen the GOP manual
for new for incoming freshmen. Why? Yeah. We're, we're, let's, let's shift focus a little bit.
Speaking of naughty behavior. Shame. I don't know if there is any shame. Florida GOP chairman
Kristen Christian Ziegler, who is married to a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, the part,
the party felt that the family values party are accused. He has accused of sexual assault by a
woman that they had three sums with. Okay. So give me, give me some more to, Moms for Liberty
is this very, very right wing organization. Very anti, anti, anti, anti, anti queer,
very homophobic. We're, we're Christians. We banned books. We're about protecting children
and traditional marriage. Okay. All right. Um, but so what, what happened after said
Monage? Well, so they've been happening apparently this, this three-way sexual relationship with
another woman, a throttle for a while. The complaint was filed on October 4th. The alleged sexual
battery happened inside this woman's home where he, Christian Ziegler went there by himself,
not with, with his wife, with his wife. Okay. And then assaulted this woman. Okay. Now what
looks really bad for the Ziegler's thing looks bad. Apparently, Christian Ziegler allegedly secretly
videotaped their sexual encounters. Oh, dear God. Oh, yes. Oh, God can't even help him. I just
I don't know if that, that's crossing a bridge that I don't understand. Wait, which bridge was
which one? There are many bridges here. There's a lot of bridges, but the whole filming thing is
just like, I don't get that at all. And I'm, I'm not taking, I mean, getting away just overall from
this particular story. That's the last thing I want to watch on us to God. I can't imagine, you know,
Bob and we even and watching that and go, Hey, look, what we, what are we doing here? What are we?
It's disgusting. It's not my thing. It is a lot of other people's thing.
It's Christian's thing. So apparently it is Christian Ziegler's thing. They are one of
Florida's top political power couples in the Republican party. Christian is a longtime GOP
official served as vice chairman of the state party before his election to share the committee
in February. His wife is a star within the mega movement personally endorsed for her school
school board seat by Florida governor and GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis.
This could make things very, very sticky.
More choice of words. Or perhaps really accurate. Bridget is one of the co-founders.
Her name is Bridget. You're giving. Oh, sorry. One of the co-founders of Moms for Liberty,
which supports book bans in public schools across the country. And I guess this is one of the things
that really, really bothers me is people's obsession with other people's sex lives if this is
between consenting of belts. I don't, to tell you the truth. I don't want to know what anybody
does in their business. It's not my business. It's none of my business. Well, and that's what I,
go on. No, that's pretty much a hard and track true fact for me. I mean, I know there's
nothing happened because traditional family values or what the GOP always talk about even when
no one's talking about it. If they just let up a little bit on this and they just accepted.
Like, even if they were like, Hey, you want to let your freak flag fly? Awesome. You know,
we prefer that you be in a committed relationship with somebody or, you know, you and your wife
want to do this. And I don't know. I don't know how to, I don't know how to justify it in the
sense where they're going to accept it because I never accept any of it. The problem is every single
week, it's someone caught having an affair, someone committing a horribly violent crime that go against
the family values that these GOP leaders, these lawmakers, these influencers are railing against.
You know what you know, you know, you know, it wasn't found at the scene of any of this stuff
happening, a drag queen or a trans kid who just wants to play sports. But yet, those are the two
individuals that these guys are are alienating the most. They're the ones who are the absolute villains.
But look at how much they have backed away now from drag queens and the whole drag queen scare.
Drag queens are grooming your children. Drag queens are devil. Drag queens are going to bring
about the downfall of society. And I think one of the reasons why they had to back off on that
is because there are so many people now on various social media platforms that are keeping lists.
Of people who are actually assaulting and convicted of assaulting and sexually abusing
children. And a lot of them are religious leaders. A lot of them are youth sports leaders.
There are law enforcement officers. I watched it was fascinating. I want to say it was on
Netflix. And it was all about, and please don't write if you're affiliated with this particular
organization, but it was the problems associated with the Boy Scouts of America. It was fascinating
as to how these predators and they they talked to one who was in prison. And he said they were asking
him, you know, how and why did you pick this organization? And he said because they made it so easy.
And he worked for them for years. And then they talked to one of his victims who talked about
their campaign and waking up. And there's this guy. And I was just, I mean, it was so I felt guilty
watching it. I felt kind of dirty watching it. But yet at the same time, it was so interesting.
So you're right in the fact of that's what's happening with some of these things. They get involved
in these, quote unquote, Christian organizations or in order to get access to children. Right. Right.
Right. So are you looking at upgrade? I'm looking up the, I wanted to look at the vote count. I know
what you're talking about. So, but anyhow, so that just addresses your point. It will be interesting
to see how this plays out in in Florida. And I think actually now Governor Ron DeSantis has called
for this Christian Ziegler to step down as the head of the Republican Party in Florida until
this all gets worked out. I know. It's, it's, well, okay. Then I know you guys don't like DeSantis
and I don't either. No, he looked like an, he looked like an idiot last night. But anyhow,
not gonna trust that because I think that was a bogus debate. Anyhow, I guess I just addressed it.
You did. But yeah, certainly did. At least silver lining for me is he at least is policing it.
At least he's doing maybe for the wrong reasons, but it's just at least I feel, I feel a little bit
relieved in the fact that you've got this guy DeSantis coming going, you gotta get out of here for a while.
But I think only because it is so egregious. Well, otherwise, they would find a way
to forgive him. And even, even, even one of the, one of the Republicans who was voting on
George Santos this morning and said, nope, I'm not going to vote to expel him because we're all
sinners. Well, listen, you and I are slightly, well, I'm outnumbered here in this room. I,
I have to have faith in the fact that I think that there would be policing of more veteran
politicians if these were egregious. If the, if the, I'm sorry, my voice is so bad. If the
accusations were so egregious, I have, Jade, I have to, Greg, I have to have faith. I cannot,
I cannot live my life thinking everybody's a piece of crap, but just can't.
But the question I'll have, I have though, is why would you have faith in people who are
pieces of crap, have faith in people who are great. And like people like George Santos, he's
piece of crap. And I don't, I don't have to have faith in him. I don't have to believe in anything.
I want what I have faith in is hopefully the people of New York of that district will vote
somebody regardless of party who will come in and want to do the good work. That's what I have faith
in personally. Well, I do too. Yeah, I do too. But someone like George Santos or Ron to
Santos or whomever we're talking about, those individuals have proven themselves to be,
I don't have to give them faith. I want to give other people faith. I want to give other people
who deserve that the faith. I'm just looking forward to watching the ripples through the moms for
liberty as this plays out. And what this is going to do to this organization, because I'm sorry,
in my opinion, people who are that obsessed with other people's sex lives, that doth protest too
much. You know, that's a cesspool. You know, a place is just a cesspool. It's salacious. I mean,
you know, the lifetime networks get in the head. You heard what happens? What's going on with them?
Because the lifetime network has decided that they're going to really start showing
serious, serious sex scenes and some of their movies. Oh, I'm not ready for that. Stay with us.
What? When we come back, today is a really, really important day. If you have ever considered
running for elected office, you need to know what's going on. We're going to feel you in.
And then we're going to have an update on perfume for babies. That's all coming up.
Still quit this. This is Asco's Wisconsin on the Civic Media Radio Network.
Must be my perfume, my perfume, my perfume. That's my food. Good morning. Welcome. Welcome. Welcome to
Asco's Wisconsin. Jane Mattner in for Kristen Brie. Carol Cain and Greg Bach with me in studio

You can listen to all of the shows all across the civic media network. And if you go to civicmedia.us,
you can also download the podcast if you want to listen to it later because we understand you have
a life and you have things to do and you can't always be with us from 10 to noon every day.
Really, thank you so much for all the people who do download the Asco's Wisconsin podcast. We really
appreciate it. And thank you for everyone watching the livestream too that you can find on the
Facebook, the Twitter or the ex Frank or YouTube. I remember that one. Frank Steph will ask a
question on the livestream. Who were the two Democrats who voted to retain Santos? I looked up
the information. Actually, it looks like no Democrats did vote to retain him to Al Green of Texas
ninth Jonathan Jackson of the Illinois first voted present while Sheila Jackson Lee of Alexandria,
Casio or TLC and Dean Phillips did not vote at all. I guess they weren't even there. But here's
one thing that was interesting. Kevin McCarthy didn't vote at all. Oh, for pit. Does that I guess
that's not a surprise. No, no. He's just sitting back there just twisting his fake by such going,
Ben, he's I mean, he's a useless sponge at this point. He's completely spineless and just, yeah.
So speaking of election officials and elections and all of those things, I think so much of our
focus tends to be either on the Capitol in Madison and what's happening there or obviously in Washington
DC and what's happening there. But the things that really tend to impact us the most are what happens
locally in your local communities. So today is the first major dates for the 2024 elections.
This is the day candidates for office that will be voted on in spring can start circulating
your nomination papers. Okay. So if you ever thought about getting into politics
and not jumping up to I want to be a senator. I can be president. You can you can start a little
bit more locally. This includes municipal positions, county positions, school boards,
which we know now are a big focus for some groups. Can I ask you both a question?
Do you not, not like a law or anything, but like do you think it should be important that the
people who serve on the school board are in fact parents? Or do you think because it's a community
based thing I like like for me personally, I pay taxes into the school system. I don't have children.
I don't know. I don't feel like not like barring them or saying you can't do that. But like I feel
like if you ran and someone said, well, where do your kids go to school? Like, why don't have kids?
It almost seems like, well, why would I vote for you? But that doesn't mean you can't be an
expert on education. Okay. Right. Honestly, I'm really it's a question I have because you know,
if I was ever to run for office, I would run for school board for city council or county board.
I would run for anything else because those three are the most important positions. I feel
in any municipality and and don't forget to it's municipal clerks December 1st today,
the deadline for municipal clerks, some of whom will be on the ballot in spring and they will
be certifying the number of electors to the county clerks. These are very, very important races.
Well, and Greg to answer your question. My opinion is I think it helps if you're a parent. Yeah,
I don't disagree with that either. But I don't think you can bar people. No, I'm not saying
in the basis of their childless. I would never I would never bar anybody. But I think when you
have a vested interest in the school district, there you might be a little bit more knowledgeable
as to what exactly like my kids used to come home and tell me all the time. What was happening
in the school. So I think outside of somebody who maybe wasn't a parent, I was a little bit more
informed, a little more plugged in for sure. Right. I saw that's all. I mean, I would never
never ban on anybody from anything. You want to serve and take over that great good for you.
I'm not I'm not proposing a ban or barring or laws or anything. It's just the
does are you as palatable as a candidate if you do not have children?
Probably not. Yeah, probably not. And that's where I would almost say like I probably wouldn't
run for that position ever because I feel like there are people who have like you said more
experience as a parent, more experiences, maybe as an educator or just someone who has more,
you know, because it's something that has crossed my mind from time to time. And as we're talking
about this today, it's very, very important. Well, if you would like more information,
just go to civic media dot us and a search for election information. If you're going to be
running, if you're collecting signatures, good luck. It's very, very important that we
that we look at local elections and what's happening locally because it's just it's critical.
We don't have a lot of time left. And I want to make sure we have a chance to do an update on
Wednesday. When Kristen was here, we played at the good, the bad and the
the babies really need this. And Dior is out with a skin care line for babies,
genius, including a perfume called baby Dior mall at 12 genius at 230 bucks a bottle.
Genius. And I don't know who both you and Kristen both were like, who's going to buy this?
And I was and I personally felt like someone's going to buy this. No, I said the car,
people like the cartrashians will buy this call the cartrashians. I will never stop calling
them the cartrashians. I see. I, I, I think that you'd be surprised at who's pop in 230 for that.
I don't think it's celebrities though. You're thinking them personally. I think it's mom and dad
down the and it's a very, you know, fancy gift for the baby for their holidays. And you know,
people are always it's always about the label. It's always about the label. Well, I want to tell
you that FED or websites. It's sold out right now. Yes, it is. It's unavailable. Baby, you smell
exactly. Exactly. I'm not surprised. Don't put perfume on your babies. I mean, it's a non-alcoholic.
I don't know. Like I don't, I don't see the end of the day. I don't care because it's a non-alcoholic
fruit rub. It's what it is. Nothing smells better than a baby. If you could bottle it as well.
If you could bottle the sense of a clean baby. Yeah. That would be worth 230 bucks a bottle.
You know, going back to that though, I know we're going to wrap it up. But the fragrances that they
put in said baby lotion and stuff. That's there for a purpose. That's there for a purpose to make
the baby smell like this. You know, like if you take baby lotion, it's got a very specific. Absolutely.
Yeah. Absolutely. But it's not 230. All right. Well, you're going to have to wait if you were hoping
to buy it. But I'm sure it will be available soon. I was going to buy it for all of you.
Stay close. When we come back, Dr. Michael McCutchen will be here to fix your life and your line
up then at 1130. We want to talk about your family holiday traditions that you thought everybody
else did to and no one else did. You're listening to As goes Wisconsin. Stay with us on the Civic Media
Radio Network.
