847 on a Tuesday morning and every week.

That means time to chat with Matt Krieger of Pioneer Financial Consultants.

Good morning, sir.

Welcome to 98Q.

Good morning, Gray.

How are you?

We're doing all right.

Doing all right on a fine morning.

At least it's turning into a fine day, a little bit of fog this morning.

But hey, I have no room to complain.

I do have room for some quality, timely financial info, though.

That's why we bring you on to 98Q.

What have you got for us today?

Yeah, so today, Gray, I want to talk about life insurance and at various stages, various life stages.

Excuse me.

Life insurance is something that certainly is important, that gets talked about in a lot of our meetings.

And, you know, it's one thing that I would say most people don't like to think about, but certainly an important conversation.

And today, I want to talk about the different life stages that people go through and your need for life insurance at those points.

Gotcha.

So I'm 32.

I'm as grown up as I'm ever going to be.

Nothing left to learn.

That's what we're talking about, right?

I'm set for life.

Right.

Yeah, absolutely.

Okay.

Actually, I need to be very carefully planning because it looks like some of the opportunities for retirement that previous generations have had might not be as readily available to me.

And for a million other reasons, you never know what's coming around the corner.

What have you got for us today, Matt?

Let's talk life stages.

Yeah.

So first, again, talking about life and

life insurance as a young independent and self sup depend on others for yo whether that's parents, gran siblings.

You're no on them.

In most cases y would not create a finan for others.

For most y life insurance is really

Now, some would argue that you should buy life insurance now while you're young and healthy because rates can be relatively low.

And this may be a valid argument if you are at risk for developing a medical condition such as diabetes later in life.

I know a lot of times some illnesses run through

are hereditary.

And if those are concerns, that certainly is something to consider.

But you should also consider earnings.

You could realize by investing the money now instead of spending the money on insurance premiums.

know that if you have a m loans that are jointly h whether that again is a significant other may be death would leave the c for the entire debt and purchasing enough life insur

Funeral expenses are also a concern for young singles, but typically not advisable to purchase a life insurance policy just for the purpose unless paying for a funeral would burden your parents or whomever would be responsible for funeral expenses.

and know that your life insu significantly if you are su a parent, a grandparent before marriage in these s could provide continued su dependent if you were to So that's kind of that th life, young adult stage in l there's a lot of differe you'll see that throug and just like most of

dependent.

Well and it's you know you can spot it even just in the advertising you hear for life insurance because it follows the same tune.

What situation do you want to leave your loved ones in if you pass away unexpectedly?

And it's a it's a really compelling thought you know I want to do everything I can for them as I leave this world.

I really hope I've got good opportunities to set them up well because it's the worst time

When you lose a loved one to have to deal with all the financial info, I imagine you talk to a lot of families in similar situations.

Oh, absolutely.

Absolutely.

Yeah, that's that's exactly right.

Exactly right.

And and kind of the next stage in life, of course, is is getting married and married couples without children typically still have a need for life insurance if both contribute equally to the household.

finances and do not yet own a home, the death of one spouse will usually not financially be financially catastrophic for the other.

But things begin to change pretty quickly.

Once you buy a house, the situation begins to change.

Even if both spouses have well paying jobs, the burden of a mortgage may be more than the surviving spouse can afford on a single income.

Credit card debt and other debts can certainly contribute to the financial strain as well.

And to make sure either spouse could carry on financially after the death of the other, both of you should probably purchase a modest amount of life insurance.

At a minimum, it will provide peace of mind knowing that both you and your spouse are protected.

Um, and again, your life insurance needs increased significantly significantly if you are caring for an aging parent or if you have children before marriage, life insurance becomes extremely important in these situations because these dependents must be provided for in the event of of your passing.

So certainly that said, you've got to be getting part of marriage, right?

And of course, after that, you may have a growing family.

And when you have young children, your life insurance needs to reach a climax.

In most situations, life insurance for both parents is definitely appropriate.

Single income families.

are completely dependent on the income of the breadwinner.

If he or she passes away without life insurance, the consequences could be disastrous.

create necessary costly daycare and housekeeping expenses.

Both spouses should carry enough life insurance to cover the loss income or the economic value of lost services that would result in in their their passings.

And know that even if you're a dual family income.

or dual income family, excuse me, you certainly most likely need life insurance as well.

If one spouse passes away, it is unlikely that the surviving spouse will be able to keep up with the household expenses and pay for childcare with the remaining income.

So again, a lot of different variables there.

They're gray, but that's kind of that, that marriage and a growing family stage in life.

That makes a lot of sense, you know, just generally speaking, most people's lives are shaped in a way that as you get older, you accumulate more reasons to have quality life insurance available because you're often accumulating loved ones.

Your family grows as you age, at least the way most of us do it.

But even if you're a single income, there's still a lot to say for it, especially if you've got potentially like debts you've been dealing with.

But long story short, there's a reason for each of us to carry quality life insurance.

whether we're aware of it or not.

And so what I'll always advise is, hey, give a call to pioneer and tell them about your situation.

Like I said, you deal with this stuff all the time.

I imagine there's a pretty different tone to it when there's a life insurance policy in place to help with that financial burden.

Yeah, absolutely.

Absolutely.

And that's, you know, part of the planning that we do with God forbid one spouse in this case is to pass away.

What would be the effective on the family besides

Obviously, there's the emotional side of it, but from a financial standpoint, making sure that we're planning for that so we have an answer for that, if God forbid that something were to happen and you were to pass away.

It's possible to take steps before it happens.

There's a whole system built for it.

It's called life insurance.

And if you think it doesn't apply to you, well, then I challenge you to get in contact with Pioneer Financial Consultants.
