We do take them on nature

We have our hiking club
So we've been doing that
And picking different places to go hiking
Miss Kay, who is the cub master
Is Sunday set up for fun in the park

We are trying to do everything to bring the community together

redistricting is that what they call it

are familiar with that it's basically
you know each section each district
and making it fair because
a high percentage win ones or so
many tallies or votes
I mean it's it's it's it's a
political way of getting around the
majority is what it is kind of
we're just looking to make it fair
and that's and there has been steps
toward that right there has been a lot of steps to it
and in March the
governor signed new maps
the legislature legislature passed
and the governor signed
new maps
actually I think the governor
the governor's office developed

of all since we're going to warm up to about 80 today Maya how long have you
been a lifeguard working with the pool I've been a lifeguard for about three
years now okay all right and are you
are you graduated or still in school yes I just graduated all right just
graduated so we've got an opportunity for all ages to take advantage of the
pool and the swim lessons but we got the the really young one starting up here
right with the minos and the whales are we got all right so tell us a little
bit about that Maya if you could so our minos and whales sessions begin
next week June 17th and there's still a lot of time to sign up
those are kids around the ages of one year to four and then when you hit five
they usually move up to whales okay um so yeah there's plenty of time to
sign up still yeah even kids add young obviously parents are with them
they're just kind of just getting used to the water right that yeah that's
got to be a lot of fun dealing with those really young yes it is and there's
multiple sessions throughout the summer as well okay all right so if you miss
the first one there's several opportunities for that and the older kids
we'll get those going to here or hold typically hold do we go up to on the
lessons or wherever we go well it really depends you'll if you're if you're
somebody who is you know you want to join a group session it really depends
on your age whether and then the skill levels so you know as you as you
agent to the levels you know right around that 78 years old you move into
levels which then it becomes really skill-based you know but then we have
individuals who who want to take private lessons which we're offering this
year so say what if I'm a 58 year old guy and I can't swim very well
you can absolutely sign up for swim what for a private lesson and
for private lessons you know where it's primarily your adults and teens that are
taking those right right and so the beautiful part about that one is if if you
have a job that's you know doesn't allow certain fluctuations in your
schedule you actually schedule it with your instructor so at a time that works
for both parties is when that gets scheduled to know there's not a specific
time block dedicated to it it's whenever it's going to work best for you and your
instructor yeah and the pool is going to be especially busy this summer maybe
busier than it's ever been and I know you're so appreciative to have people like
Maya our lifeguards because without them we can't do it right absolutely
we have an incredible staff team this year Maya and and the team they were
there all of last week I don't know if you've driven by the pool but it is bright
and it is beautiful out there they added a ton of color to the exterior
it's very inviting and they've made it a very welcoming place for all of our
guests this summer yeah Maya what do you enjoy most about being at the pool in
the summertime what what what are some of the things that really make it
enjoyable for you I definitely enjoy the really hot days when there's a lot of
people there swimming yeah and I also enjoy lessons yeah fantastic now people want to
see all the different times throughout the summer their lessons are available
where's a good place to find that's got the best places Facebook so we put all
of our marketing materials on Facebook but then we also have flyers and stuff
at city hall and at at the pool itself so if somebody wants to you know take the
flyer home with them think a little bit about it what lesson is going to work
best for them or a certain direction they want to go or maybe they just want
the information readily available they're welcome to take one home with them
all right and there's many ways to support the pool one of them obviously is
going there and doing that but you know we always encourage people businesses to
support the pool throughout the summer because you know the pool has a lot of
maintenance to it and financially you need to keep it keep it going right
absolutely yeah all right and there's other programs too not just swimming
going on all summer I saw basketball I saw everything in there we have a ton of programs
coming up and they just start next week as well so anybody who's interested in signing up for
for youth sports we have youth sports camps with the Y starting up next week for grades 4 YK
all the way through eighth grade registration technically on today but I'm going to go
ahead and extend that till Friday see if we can get some more opportunity for people to to get
involved into that program sports of all sorts starts next week so you're doing
flag football soccer basketball and baseball each day of the week and then we also have volleyball
basketball flag football for our camps and towards the backhand back half of summer we'll have our
skills classes with soccer skills coming back as well yeah and and likewise with the pool you
have a lot of people who have stepped up to to help lead each one of those right absolutely
one of our youth sports coaches that we we hired on with Park and Rec Josh he is I just did the
paperwork with him yesterday he's coming on board with the YMCA and he's our first youth sports
coach that's been hired on and he's thrilled and ready to go fun very good stuff so check out the
Facebook page on that and Scott also not only is the parks and rec but also with the YMCA also
handed they go hand in hand very well and they're everything cleared out of City Hall and the
process has begun on that right the process has begun and I can't be thankful enough to city the
City Hall and Merit Herbert especially working with them they've been really great partners in
this transition and you know we we worked really well to get City Hall cleared out so next week
on the 19th at 10 am when we have our groundbreaking ceremony for the Y the community everybody is
invited Ali Pleasner are is bringing a eight foot wide grill we're going to be having brats and
hot dogs and uh certain programs going on and we're going to provide tours of the facility to
to all the community members so you can see kind of what the the building was and we'll walk through
the history of the Y or the history of the building and what that the Y will be looking like um and
that'll be on the 19th and then construction starts on the 24th so we're I worked two weeks away
yeah and I saw a piece of history on that building that I didn't realize because I moved here in 2020
and you actually originally was an elementary school I understand right it was I wasn't the 50s
and 60s it was an elementary school before it was converted over yeah that's that's pretty
cool a lot of history a lot of history and uh it currently still for the time being at least if
you go into the old council room some of those old the lunchroom tables are still propped up into
the wall of that council room oh really yeah I'm very cool still functional I'm told so we're
projecting that the phase one of this to be completed by summer of 25 is that right or well our
our goal is uh right now we have penciled in April 3rd to be completed with construction and we're
looking at early May to open up so in within the next 11 months or so we'll be open and ready to go
all right and that's phase one and we're hoping for more phases and to keep it growing right
absolutely phase two would be the gymnasium yeah yeah let's fantastic some great things happening
all right anything else that you wanted to mention with the why or the parks and rec sky that's
that's everything right we have going on right now we're really excited the pool is is open the pool
is ready to go I hope everybody comes down to join us it's going to be a hot day we have a lot of

program is always looking for extra volunteers a new animal attraction that brings wildlife

and Baldwin will feature over 100 animals across 30 different species on their 10 acres of land

them in to what they want and what's going to work for them right absolutely um first first thing
we do with the customers we sit down and we we need to know what they need um and then after we
fill their needs then we can fill their wants if they want to you know like they may need cabin heat
but start with what you need and go from there and that's what we do it's a step-by-step process
yeah and if people have something in mind that they're looking for they're just like you know
I've seen this my cousin my brother had one of these are pretty cool then you can work with them
to go if you don't have it to go out and find it right absolutely we can transfer an equipment
just about anything that you can think of yeah yeah um and not only that but the fixing part too
you got you think the first time you came on the air with us you told us uh how many parts you have
in supply there and uh you get people from all over the country and even the world
getting your parts right absolutely we sell parts uh yes all over the world um nationwide
on a daily basis um mainly they're mainly after the Alice jammers parts because it's hard to find
a lot of them parts but in reality we have most all of them there yeah fantastic so whatever it may be
um let's go let's go from a scale from one to 10 as far as the uh person who's like an outdoors
minute what would be the the lower end would it be a basic just uh brushmore or what would be
on the lower end to the hardcore upper 10 what would be what would be a piece of equipment for just
the casual I would go for casual casual homeowner or landowner they would start with around
the 25 to 35 horsepower four wheel drive compact tractor yeah with a loader do a bunch of dirt work
a box blade work their driveway sure brush cutter to do some mowing and stuff um then you can get
up into the cab air heat machines then you can get into the skid steer the track machines skid
steers and many excavators um every attachment under the sun and then if they really want to get
all the way up there you can get to forestry mulchers you can drive them straight through the woods
just every tree goes down in front of you which we have one of those used in stock too um and then
they can also get what's called the tool cat um you may have seen one around running around part
falls up here okay um the city of part falls has a tool cat just about any attachment you can think
on it can pull 20,000 pounds it can haul over it on wow and a machine that can have the front
attachments of a skid steer but you have to use it side by side in comfort of cab air and heat yeah
yeah well I mean customer wise at Nemo what would you say is is it a lot of farmers or is it a lot
of hobby people or uh well you know what's the mix of people that are using these uh well here's
the goal we were probably 95% just egg yeah um but the as farms got bigger the clientele has got less
so now we're probably around 70% homeowners with acreage landowners and forestry
diversified from the just the egg even though we still support the egg industry yes absolutely

the other thing is pullers we got a lot of pullers coming Friday night that are talking about
spending a night at the track and pulling to get on Saturday um you can camp at the track if
you're listening and you want to information you can camp at the track um have a few spectators
reach out wanting to camp at this time we're just asking the spectators to try and get a camp

those until about three thirty and we normally shut those down right before mid-states joins in
because mid-states they normally start rolling in a town around one o'clock okay they start at four

butters pickles salsa jalapenos and beets grass food blacking is beef and more there will also be
freeze dried foods and dog biscuits some vegetable plants in other and other betting plants such as
tomato pepper hostile oyster cracker plants will be available for your garden and a lovely
hanging flower baskets and succulents are available as well and now there's the other present question
of which one would perform best in the food fights that are of course annual and absolutely only
hypothetical yeah and we don't have potatoes available yet that's later so we I saw jalapenos
in that jalapenos in that list though those can be pretty dangerous I tell you what you get a
multitude of radishes and start throwing them at people that could leave a mark true true radishes
are always good definitely those are they're small enough to be thrown easily yet they're definitely
solid there's a whiplash factor of a good onion how good long onion though too especially if you
especially if you happen to get like one of the round onions you cut into it a little bit and throw
at people yeah that's fine too yeah all right because then you got to be careful so you don't get
