Kweku Akyirefi Amoasi, PhD, LP (formerly known as Ramel Smith and known on air as Dr. Kweku and “The Blaquesmith”) is a licensed Wisconsin psychologist and president of BLAQUESMITH Psychological Consultative Services, LLC. A Milwaukee native and Rufus King High School graduate, he holds a BS in psychology from UW–Whitewater and an MS in educational psychology and a PhD in urban education with an emphasis on school psychology from UW–Milwaukee. His professional experience spans Milwaukee Public Schools, Children’s Hospital, the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, and Tennessee State University, with performance-psychology work for Team USA, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Wisconsin Badgers. He is a published author and adjunct professor; his work focuses on violence prevention, trauma-informed care, social justice, and mental health among Milwaukee’s Black community.
