High school football returns to WRJN this Friday as Racine Horlick and Union Grove open their season against each other once again!

Last season, Racine Horlick edged out the Broncos 42-37 in the opener. The Rebels finished 7-4 overall and earned a spot in the WIAA Playoffs, though they were eliminated in the second round. This year, Horlick will be looking to build on that performance.

Union Grove, meanwhile, struggled to a 4-6 record last season. The Broncos will be aiming to get back on track, starting with Friday’s matchup against Horlick.

Looking ahead to the NFL, the Green Bay Packers are gearing up for their final preseason game this Saturday at 3:00 PM against the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field. The team is currently in joint practice, which includes scrimmages against each other—and, true to Packers tradition, some players have even been spotted riding kids’ bikes to the practice field.

Packers starters are expected to play, but QB Jordan Love is still recovering from thumb surgery and will not take the field. In his absence, Malik Willis will continue to start. Love is expected to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, which kicks off Sunday, September 7, at 3:25 PM at Lambeau Field against the Detroit Lions.
