The Milwaukee Brewers are back in familiar territory-riding another long winning streak, and after sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates this week, the Crew extended their streak to 12 straight victories, triggering the famous George Webb burgers promotion for the first time since 1987. The tradition dates back to the days of Milwaukee’s minor league Brewers and carried through the Braves era, but this is the first time in nearly four decades that fans will get to enjoy it again. George Webb will announce the date for the free burgers on August 14th.

Game one featured a lefty-versus-lefty matchup between José Quintana and Pittsburgh’s Andrew Heaney. Brice Turang wasted no time, belting his 11th home run of the season in the first inning. The Pirates answered in the third when Joey Bart went deep to the opposite field, but the Brewers’ bats caught fire from there. Christian Yelich added a homer, the offense piled on six runs, and the pitching staff held Pittsburgh to just three hits in a 7–1 win.

In game two, it was a battle of All-Stars: Paul Skenes for Pittsburgh and Freddy Peralta for Milwaukee. Just like the night before, the Brewers struck early—this time with Sal Frelick going deep in the first inning. Milwaukee’s offense chased Skenes after just four innings, tagging him for four runs, and never looked back. By the end, the Brewers had launched five homers—Frelick, Turang, Yelich, Andrew Vaughn, and Caleb Durbin—on their way to a 14–0 rout. Peralta cruised through six shutout innings, allowing only three hits.

The series finale had all the pressure—one more win to secure the streak and free burgers. Milwaukee jumped ahead 2–0 in the third thanks to RBI hits from Frelick and Yelich, then erupted for four more in the fourth to knock Mitch Keller out early. But Pittsburgh made it interesting—Bryan Reynolds homered in the fifth and sixth to cut the lead to 6–5. The Brewers responded in a big way, adding six more runs to put it out of reach and winning 12–5, locking in their first 12-game winning streak since 1987.
