WGBW Green Bay Launches “Local News and Timeless Hits” Format

Green Bay, WI (August 4, 2025) – Civic Media has launched a new full service music format for Brown County and Green Bay with FM 97.9 / AM 1590 WGBW, now broadcasting “Local News and Timeless Hits.” The station features hit music from the late 1950s to the early 1970s, showcasing artists including Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Neil Diamond, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles.

The station features an on-air lineup of familiar voices that Green Bay listeners will immediately recognize:

• Dan Markus 6-9am
• Laura McKenna 9am-2pm
• Eric Westphal 2-6pm
• “Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba” 6-8pm

Pete Schwaba’s popular entertainment and interview show “Nite Lite” continues as a holdover from WGBW’s previous News/Talk format.

WGBW will operate as a full-service station, providing local coverage with Lisa Hale delivering news at the top and bottom of every hour, and Mike Clemens providing sports updates throughout the day.

Listeners can tune in at 97.9 FM or 1590 AM, and the station is also available for streaming at wgbw.fm and through the free Civic Media app.
