RACINE — Racine Public Library has updated its bookmobile schedule and has restored Thursday and Friday stops, effective immediately, according to an announcement from the library.
The revised schedule takes effect Monday, June 1, and includes evening stops on weekdays, afternoon service on Thursdays and Fridays, and two Saturday stops. The bookmobile is closed Sundays.
Bookmobile schedule (effective June 1)
Monday: 5:30-7:45 p.m., 3701 Durand Ave. (Elmwood Plaza)
Tuesday: 5:30-7:45 p.m., 7130 Spring St. (Roma Lodge parking lot)
Wednesday: 5:30-6:30 p.m., Virginia Street and Kinzie Avenue (next to Racine Christian School)
6:45-7:45 p.m., Emmertsen Road and Washington Avenue/Highway 20 (Western Village Shopping Center)
Thursday: 1-5:45 p.m., North Green Bay Road/Highway 31 and Spring Street (southeast area of the Pick ’N Save parking lot)
Friday: 1-4:45 p.m., 3 Mile Road and Erie Street (north end of the Shorecrest Shopping Center parking lot)
Saturday:
9-11 a.m., Ohio Street and Washington Avenue/Highway 20 (U.S. Bank parking lot)
Noon-1:30 p.m., old U.S. Bank on Northwestern Avenue/Highway K in Franksville
Sunday: No stops — closed.
The library said it will continue assessing the bookmobile schedule as it works to balance resources with community needs, and additional changes may be made this summer, particularly after a new bookmobile assistant is hired. The most current schedule is posted at RacineLibrary.info/hours.
Upcoming closure
The Racine Public Library building and the bookmobile will be closed Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth Day, and will reopen for normal hours Saturday, June 20, according to the announcement.
