
River Valley passed the first test of the WIAA softball tournament with a 14-4 (6 inning) win over visiting Pardeeville on Thursday night.
The Blackhawks trailed 1-0 after the Bulldogs plated a run on an error. River Valley then plated 5 runs in the 2nd inning and never trailed the rest of the way. Ella Hillebrand, who is a Senior Captain, was 3 for 4 with a 2 run home run, Bella DeViney was 2 for 4 with a triple, Nahaila Willey was 2 for 4 with 2 rbis ane Ella Prohaska was 2 for 3 with an rbi triple.
Ashlyn Stokes was the wining pitcher while Brooklyn Stokes came on in relief in the 4th inning to help the team improve to 10-16 on the season. Pardeeville’s Taylor Luedtke suffered the pitching loss. Abigail Jacobson and Addyson Neary both had 2 hits for the Bulldogs. The season came to an end for the visitors at River Valley last night.
With the 14-4 win, River Valley advances to round two of the WIAA softball tournament with a game at Lodi on Tuesday.
