Former Iowa County Correctional Officer charged, not guilty plea entered
Former Iowa County Correctional Officer Adam D Rice, charged with felony counts of Misconduct in Public Office – Act Inconsistent with Duty, and Misconduct in Public Office – Falsifying Records and Statements, and two misdemeanors – Theft of Movable Property, and Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescription Medication, recently appeared in circuit court, where he waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
The Court advised Rice of the charges and penalty – Rice entered plea of not guilty.
Concerns had initially been raised by Iowa County team members who identified documentation that was not consistent with standard procedures. These irregularities were brought to the attention of the leadership team, and an internal review was initiated.
The Court set for pre-trial conference and advised the defendant bond remains in full force and effect.
A status conference has been scheduled for June 16, at 11:00 am.
