Sauk County Sheriff’s Office releases names in deadly shooting

Baraboo, WI – The Sauk County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of victim and suspect in the shooting that occurred at Pewitt’s Nest Nature Preserve on Friday Afternoon.

The victim was identified as Susan Paul of Prairie du Sac.

The suspect was identified as George Paul of Prairie du Sac. Criminal charges had not been filed against him as of Monday afternoon. He remains in custody in the Sauk County Jail.

Both individuals are 80 years old.

George went to the Sauk Prairie Police Department after the incident at Pewitt’s Nest and fired shots into the building. No one inside was hurt.

The investigation remains active according to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department.
