Baraboo, WI – On Friday, May 8th 2026 the Sauk County Dispatch Center received a report of a shooting incident at Pewitt’s Nest Nature Preserve at 2:08 p.m.

Multiple callers reported seeing a male shoot a female multiple times and fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene and located the female deceased.
