Richland Center picked up its first conference win of the season with a 9-2 win over River Valley on Tuesday. The Hornets started strong after breaking 1-1 tie, they plated 4 runs in the 3rd inning and took a lead they would not give up. They added 2 in the 4th, and 2 more in the 6th inning.  River Valley plated a single run in the 6th inning.

Wyatt Banker was the winning pitcher as he worked 6 innings and gave up just 4 hits, struck out 7, and walked 2. Finn Lemke worked the 7th to help the Hornets nail down the win.  Isaac Gald backed him at the plate as the Junior was 3 for 4 with 5 rbi.  Isaac had at least one rbi with each of his at bats. Brady Dosch was on base all 4 times and scored each time.  Finn Lemke had 2 rbis, Deakyn Heisz had a double, and Owen Mueller scored twice.

For River Valley, Quincy Blakely, Drew Riedel, Keagan Heiser, and Austin Carstenson all had hits. Heiser pitched the first 3 innings, while Blakely worked the last 4 innings from the mound. The Blackhawks fell to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the league.

Following the 9-2 win, Richland Center will prepare for a trip to Prairie du Chien on Friday.  River Valley will host Platteville.
