The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal farm accident that occurred Sunday, April 26, at approximately 6:28 PM at a residence located on County Road M in the Town of Dodgeville.
Deputies, along with Dodgeville EMS and Dodgeville Fire Department, and UW MedFlight responded to a 911 call reporting a male subject pinned under a tractor. On arrival, first responders located a 70-year-old male, identified as Arthur Karl Pustina, trapped beneath the equipment.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Mr Pustinawas pulling a disabled tractor with another tractor, when his tractor overturned, pinning him underneath.
Sheriff Michael Peterson states: “I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and all those affected by this tragic accident. Mr Pustina, who was known as Karl, was a well-known and valued member of the community and will be missed.”
The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.
