Riverdale baseball picks up win Tuesday night

Riverdale won an SWAL baseball game at Boscobel on Tuesday night by a score of 6-1.  The Chieftains scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning and 4 in the 6th inning to improve to 4-1 in the league and 6-2 overall.

Riverdale Sophomore Eli Campbell struck out 11 as he logged the win giving up 5 hits. He hit the 100 pitch limit after retiring the first batter of the 7th. Henry Drone came on in relief to help nail down the win. At the plate, Bevyn Dennis had 2 hits and 2 rbis, Eli Campbell was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 rbis, Henry Drone doubled twice and had an rbi, Owen Blankeship doubled, and Eathan Kagel was on base 3 times for Riverdale.

Boscobels Tyler Miller, along with Grant and Grayden Richter all pitched. Payton Hehn was on base 3 times, Sawyer Loos and Grant Richter both had 2 hits. The Bulldogs fell to 0-4 in the league and 1-5 for the season.

Following the 6-1 win, Riverdale will now prepare for a non-conference game at Dodgeville on Thursday while Boscobel will travel to Southwestern on Friday.
