Man Injured in Fall Dies

RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials were notified Monday that the 84-year-old man who suffered severe facial injuries when he fell on a trail near the boat launch area at Mauthe Lake Campground has died.

Carl Holter of West Bend died at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee where he was flown for treatment.

According to investigators he was walking along the trail Sunday when he fell onto the compacted gravel surface. Due to the severity of his injuries Flight for Life was requested. A landing zone was created on the entrance road to the campground and he was flown to Froedtert Hospital.
