RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- The 20-year-old De Pere woman who left a “path of destruction” in downtown Fond du Lac last May was sentenced in Fond du Lac County Court Monday.

Kaitlynn Ray was sentenced to 7 years in prison, 7 years of extended supervision, followed by 4 years of probation. She was convicted of 9 counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and OWI 2nd-causing injury.

According to the criminal complaint while she was trying to flee a Sheriff’s deputy on May 30th Ray traveled at speeds of more than 80 miles an hour.  At least six vehicles were hit and five people injured. Two vehicles caught fire including Ray’s.

While being treated at St. Agnes hospital for an arm injury she stated someone was trying to kill her. A deputy noted she appeared to be hallucinating. She was under the influence of marijuana.

District Attorney Eric Toney stated, “This defendant caused significant property damage and injuries with her vehicle becoming a missile down Main Street on a busy Friday night.” He says they are grateful nobody was killed.
