Green Bay Packers legend Bob Harlan dies at 89
Packers say "Harlan's legacy will live on forever"
Listen:
The Green Bay Packers community is mourning the loss of a true legend. Former Packers President and CEO Bob Harlan has passed away at the age of 89.
Harlan is widely credited with bringing “the title back to Titletown.” Under his leadership in the 1990s, he orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for the franchise, taking them from a perpetual losing team at the bottom of the league to Super Bowl XXXI champions following the 1996 season.
A Vision for Lambeau Field

Beyond the wins on the field, Harlan’s vision transformed Lambeau Field into a year-round destination. His oversight of the massive stadium renovations in the early 2000s ensured the Packers remained viable in Green Bay for generations to come.
Today, the iconic statues of Curly Lambeau and Vince Lombardi stand in a place of honor at the stadium—an area aptly named Harlan Plaza.

A Lasting Legacy
In a statement shared on social media, the Packers said “Bob Harlan’s legacy will live on forever.” The team has indicated that funeral arrangements are currently pending.
