The Riverdale Lady Chieftains hit the road to Orfodville Tuesday night to take on Parkview in the 7-10 regional playoff matchup.

Senior Macy McKay went into the game parked on 999 points and 799 career rebounds. 11 seconds into the game those milestones were reached as Macy grabbed an offensive rebound, was fouled and knocked in both free throws to grab a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Chieftains handled Parkview’s pressure and pushed their lead to 10 before foul trouble and a late first half run by Parkview resulted in a slim 25-24 halftime score.

Parkview grabbed a 3-point lead early in the second half. But back-to-back three-point plays by junior Bailey Harris sparked the Chieftains to go on a run and they never looked back leading by as much as 18 points before ending the game with a 63-48 road victory.

The Lady Chieftains will now hit the road to take on #2 seed Shullsburg on Friday evening.

Riverdale was led by Macy McKay’s 23 points. Fellow senior Lily Barr stepped up huge scoring 9 points in the second half and 11 overall for the game. Bailey Harris scored 11 while fellow junior Jocey Adams scored 6 points. Senior Allie Goplin also scored 6 points, while Kaitlyn Miess added 4 points. Haley Schneider scored 3 points and Ava Kratzenberg finished with 2 points to round out the scoring for the Lady Chieftains.
