PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WRJN) – Costco plans to move its gas station and expand parking at its Pleasant Prairie location, following initial approval from the village’s Plan Commission.

The commission on Feb. 16 approved a plan to relocate the fueling area from the Costco warehouse at 7707 94th Ave. to a 2.8-acre site at the southwest corner of Highway H and 76th Street, just a few blocks east of the warehouse. The new site will include 12 pumps with 24 fueling positions, double the current capacity, along with more space to line up, and a kiosk with a restroom.

Once the gas station moves off-site, the existing fueling area at the warehouse will be replaced with additional parking. The project would add 133 spaces, increasing total parking to 814 spots for shoppers and employees.

Village Community Development Director Robert Hanson said the move is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion during busy hours. The plan also calls for shifting the main entrance along 76th Street slightly east to align better with nearby driveways.

The proposal still requires final approval from the Pleasant Prairie Village Board before construction can begin.
