Riverdale boys win by 11 Monday Night, will travel to Boscobel on Thursday

The Riverdale boys basketball team logged a victory over visiting Wauzeka-Stueben 56-45 on Monday night. The Chieftains never trailed as they jumped out to a 28-15 lead at halftime. The Hornets kept battling back after trailing by 18 points, they got the defecit down to 10 near the end of the game before Riverdale held on for the win.

Henry Drone had a strong game for Riverdale as he led them in scoring with 18, Bevyn Dennis added 16, Owen Blankeship had 11, Eneral Gantugla scored 7, while Landon Kinyon and Conlan Walsh both had 2 points. Riverdale made three 3 pointers and they shot 7 for 8 from the line.

Cooper Lomas had 15 points while Theodore Millin added 12 for Wauzeka-Stueben. They made one three pointer and went 6 for 11 from the line.

Riverdale also won the JV game. That final was 35-34 against the Hornets.

Following the 56-45 Varsity win, Riverdale is now 3-16 overall. They will play at Boscobel on Thursday night.  Wauzeka-Stueben is now 4-13 and they will play Boscobel tonight.
