A woman has died following a one-vehicle crash in Grant County. Around 2:55 Tuesday afternoon (January 13), the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a crash with injuries on Highway 151, south of Hwy 11, in Jamestown Township.

When deputies arrived, they learned Gary Brillhart, 76 of East Dubuque, IL, was traveling south on Highway 151, just south of the Highway 11 overpass. Brillhart’s passenger, Barbara Robey, 80 of East Dubuque, IL, was in the front passenger seat. The vehicle left the roadway to the right side causing the vehicle to travel through the ditch, strike a highway sign, travel up a steep embankment into a wooded area approximately 40 yards off of the highway. Once at the top of the embankment, the car rolled down into a ravine, where it came to rest. Both Gary Brillhart and Barbara Robey were injured in the crash and were transported by EMS to an area hospital for treatment.

Robey’s injuries were severe, and she was eventually transferred to another medical facility where she later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.

The crashe remains under investigation by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
