Rep. Todd Novak says he’s running for a seventh term in the State Assembly this fall, aiming at retaining a seat he’s held since 2014.
“Working across the aisle for common sense solutions is how I’ve always approached governing. We’ve been able to accomplish a lot to help address affordability, reduce the tax burden, support education, and reduce healthcare costs,” Novak said in a press release.
He pointed to securing funding for the Office of School Safety, along with additional funding for the dairy industry, as accomplishments.
Novak represents the 51st Assembly District, which includes all of Lafayette and Iowa counties, as well as portions of Grant County and a sliver of Dane County. In 2024, his district’s boundaries shifted under sweeping new maps for the state. He won, against Democratic competitor Elizabeth Grabe, by just over 1,100 votes, at 51.7% of the vote.
Novak will appear on the ballot in the fall election cycle, when all state Reps and half of the state Senate are up for election. If he’s challenged by another Republican, they’d square off on the August primary ballot. The general election is November 3, 2026.
