On December 9, 2025, at approximately 8:16 p.m., the Baraboo Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 1040 Highway 136, across from the Menards Supercenter.

Upon arrival, officers located a 33 year old female who had sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision. She was transported by EMS to a Madison-area hospital, where she is currently listed in stable condition.

Preliminary information indicates that weather and roadway conditions were contributing factors in the incident. The Baraboo Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this crash. At this time, no further information is being released pending the ongoing investigation.

As we enter the busy holiday season, the Baraboo Police Department urges both motorists and pedestrians to exercise heightened awareness and caution. Rapidly changing weather conditions, increased traffic, and reduced visibility can significantly elevate the risk of roadway incidents. We encourage all community members to remain vigilant, slow down, and look out for one another to help ensure everyone’s safety during this time of year.
