John McGivern Brings “Holiday Tales” and Laughs to Green Bay
The Emmy-winning performer shares laugh-out-loud holiday nostalgia from a Wisconsin childhood filled with wooden toys and winter snow days
Beloved storyteller and Emmy Award–winning show host John McGivern is coming to Green Bay. He’ll be sharing favorite holiday memories and laughs from his Wisconsin childhood.
McGivern recently joined Dan Markus, host of the WGBW Morning Show, to offer a sneak peek of what you can expect from his hilarious “Holiday Tales” on Tuesday, December 2nd.
Listen to the entire interview here:
“All the toys that we had growing up were these incredibly crafted, handmade wooden toys, because my father was an incredible carpenter,” McGivern says. “And when you’re six years old and you get a handmade wooden gun from Santa, all you think is… ‘Oh, what a piece of crap!’ I want something plastic. I want a bazooka Joe gun.”
His humor will strike a special chord with local audiences thanks to those holiday stories we can all relate to — from the excitement of no school snow days to the annual We Energies Christmas Cookie Book, even the classic New Year’s Eve party in his parent’s finished basement.
McGivern’s “Holiday Tales” will be told at the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center this Tuesday, December 2 at 7 pm.
Tickets are available here.
