Volleyball win makes for happy Homecoming
RICHLAND CENTER, WIS (WRCO / WRCE) – It was a happy homecoming Tuesday night for the Richland Center girls volleyball team after they won in 5 sets over Dodgeville. The Dodgers won the opening set 25-20, before Richland Center took the 2nd and 3rd, 25-19 and 25-20. Dodgeville forced a 5th and deciding set with a 25-20 win in the 4th. Richland Center put together a strong finish to win 15-6 in the final.
It was Richland Centers 4th 5 set match in Southwest Wisconsin Conference play. The Hornets are now 5-2 in the league and Dodgeville fell to 3-4. The win also avenged a 5 set loss at Dodgeville earlier in the season.
Senior Danica Pauls had 15 kills in the match including 4 in the last set. Senior libero player Tatum Reyzek led the back row and Senior setter Raynie Walsh had a strong night with assists on kills. Senior Taylor Wertz had key points including a kill in the final go around. Freshman Adelyn Wertz had an ace in the 5th. It was a great team effort for the Hornets.
The Richland Center JV one and JV two teams both continue to have strong seasons as both swept the Dodgers in the earlier matches.
