River Valley falls in homecoming volleyball match

SPRIMG GREEN, WIS (WRCO / WRCE) – Platteville won a 3 sets to 1 match over River Valley in volleyball action played during Thursday night activities at the Blackhawks homecoming night. The visitors won the opening set 25-14, before River Valley won its only set 25-20 in the 2nd. The Hillman won the 2nd and 3rd sets 25-17 to take the match. The Blackhawks lost 3-1 earlier this season at Platteville but defeated the Hillman in a weekend tournament 2-0 two weeks ago.

Ella Myers and Brooklyn Stokes each had 4 kills in the 2nd set. Myers had 12 sets for the match to lead River Valley. Rianna Dye had 8 kills and 2 blocks to lead Platteville.  The Hillman are now 6-0 in the Southwest Wisconsin Conference while River Valley fell to 3-3. It is the 2nd time through the league schedule.  River Valley will host Prairie du Chien on Tuesday night while Platteville will play at Lancaster.

Platteville swept the JV 1 match in the early meeting between the two schools. River Valleys’ homecoming festivities continue Friday and Saturday at the school grounds in Spring Green.
