Riverdale gets the volleyball win
MUSCODA, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – Riverdale swept Ithaca in high school volleyball Tuesday night. The Chieftains won the home opener by scores of 25-11, and 25-21, 25-21.
In the opener, Riverdale built an early lead and never looked back. Bailey Harris led the way with 2 kills and Allie Goplin had a kill and an ace. Brinley Wanless had 2 kills for Ithaca. In the 2nd set, the score was tied at 21 before the Chieftains picked up the last 4 points to win. Macey McCay had ace serves for the last 2 points. Bailey Harris and Allie Goplin each had 2 kills. Ithaca was paced by Jacey Maxwell with 3 kills. Riverdale led early in the 3rd set with the Bulldogs battling back for a close finish. Macey McCay led the Chieftains with 3 kills and Abby Tisdale had 2 aces. Aubri Imhoff had 2 aces for Ithaca while Autumn McBain had an ace.
Riverdale swept the 3 game set in the J.V. match as well.
The next matches will begin conference play for both schools. Following last nights sweep, Riverdale will open the SWAL with a home match against Iowa Grant. Ithaca returns for the home opener Thursday against Ridge and Valley opponent, Kickapoo.
