
RV goes 1-1 on the season, routes Wis Dells

SPRING GREEN, Wis (WRCO SPORTS) – River Valley improved to 1-1 with a 42-17 win over Wisconsin Dells. Senior Kaden Plumley had a big night as he rushed for 228 yards and 4 touchdowns. He had runs of 56 and 32 yards for scores in the first half. Senior quarterback Lucas Klein ran for a 9-yard td and Owen Jones ran for a 2-point conversion and the Blackhawks led 22-0. Wisconsin Dells scored a safety late in the half and was turned away as the first half ended when River Valleys’ Quincy Blakely grabbed his 2nd interception of the game.
The Chiefs Kashton Stoddard ran for a 46 yard touchdown and Eathan Hoepper kicked the extra point to make it 22-9. Kaden Plumley ran for his 3rd score with a 23 yard scamper and the score was 28-9. The Chiefs picked up another score on a 12 yard pass by Rex Reittinger to Antonio Gomez. Reittinger threw a 2 point pass to Hendrix Dawson and it was 28-17. The Blackhawks grabbed the momentum right back when they scored on their next play from scrimmage. Lucas Klein threw pass to Jordan Gauger that covered 79 yards for a touchdown. Klein than ran the ball for the 2 pointer and it was 36-17. Plumley’s final td came on a 15 yard run. Jordan Gauger intercepted a pass late for the River Valley defense. Other highlights for River Valley were 102 yards receiving for Jordan Gauger on 4 catches. Owen Jones ran for 61 yards for the Blackhawks.
Following the 42-17 win, River Valley will now prepare for a road game at Brodhead-Juda to begin conference play. The Dells will start the South Central league with a home game against Adams Friendship.
