WAUSAU, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – It’s still summer, but the incoming below-average temperatures brings the possibility of frost to the state’s northern region.

It’s time to bring in the sensitive vegetation: plants left outside or not covered may be killed Friday morning in the Northwoods.

Temperatures are forecasted to plummet down to the low to mid 30s, creating a summer frost formation. Areas including Ashland, Iron, Vilas, Gogebic, Houghton and Ontonagon counties should be on alert.

Frost Advisory from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday, issued by the National Weather Service.

Clear skies and calm winds result from a high-pressure overhead. Which paves the path for a dry Labor Day weekend – a sunny one, too.
